It was a crisp warm summer day near a camping ground by a creek in the forest a young girl sat on a rock with a book in her hands. Her slightly tan skin shown as her feet dipped into the creek. Raising a hand up to brush back a strand of her bushy brown hair away from her face as she read. With deep concentration she kept reading the book as she slightly gnawing on her lower lip as her light chocolate eyes absorbed the words within the page. Wearing a short sleeve white t-shirt and lavender knee length shorts made her felt warm against the burning sun. Beside her rock was a pair of white tennis shoes with her socks in the shoes to prevent them from being blown away as there was a light breeze in the air.

Taking a soft breath of relaxation, she looks up at the sun seeing the sun was starting to go down between the trees. Standing onto her feet she gave a stretch moaning softly at how stiff she felt. Placing her socks on then her shoes she picked up her book and turned to head back to the camping grounds when she heard a twig snap nearby. Turning swiftly at the noise she couldn't see quite where it originated but, being cautious she made her way down the path heading towards her family's camping area. Crack! Another twig snapped making her turn swiftly with a gasp on her lips. As she turned her foot slipped on a rock feeling herself fall sideways as she closed her eyes ready for impact against the ground.

After a moment it she realized two things; one, she wasn't against the ground and two she was against something warm. Slowly opening her eyes slowly, she sees a chest of hair before her. Looking up she looks into warm golden eyes of the mans and felt her heart racing within her chest.

She licked her lips lightly and stutters softly as she says," Hh-hi, Sir?"

The man slowly put her down on her feet but keeping his hands on her shoulders to keep her steady. "Are you ok, little one," He asked as he looked down at her with concern.

The young girl nodded gently as she tries to take a step back. "Yes...I'm fine, Sir. Thank you for catching me," The young girl says as she kept her eyes cast down feeling like she was in a presence of someone dominating.

The man brought a hand up to touch beneath her chin gently to look up at him. He looked at her with gentle eyes and a genuine smile as he says softly," It's no problem, Miss...?"

"Hermione. Hermione Granger."

"Hermione...a lovely name. I'm..." he started to say when suddenly a wolf came up to the two starting to growl and whine.

Hermione gasped softly in fear closing her eyes shut as the man held her close to him. He looked at the wolf sternly like he was listening to an inner voice within his head.

"Alpha! The camping grounds have been attacked! I'm afraid...no survivors," the wolf's voice said within his mind. Looking down at the girl she was shivering against him and he looks at the wolf saying loudly," Go! Back to the pack!"

The wolf ran off swiftly high tailing back to the pack. He knelt down and held her close to him saying," It's ok, Hermione. I've got ya. The wolf is gone...tell me...were your family down at the camping grounds?"

Hermione looked up at him swiftly and nods saying softy," Yes, it was supposed to be our last night tonight." The man had to hold back a flinch as he heard her answer.

He knelt down looking at the distance seeing a fire was starting high into the sky. He picks her up quickly," I need to get you out of here. There's a fire heading our way. Now I want you to close your eyes and hold onto me ok?"

Hermione gasps loudly as she was picked up though being held close to him, she felt...protected. She followed his instruction and held onto his coat as he wrapped it around her as she closed her eyes. Running swiftly with hidden speed he made his way through the forest. When he cast his eyes down to check on her, he found that she had her eyes closed hard and she was holding the book in one hand and the other his coat. Reaching into his pocket he held his wand and with a loud CRACK! Appeared over the cliffside of a mountain heading towards a wooden cabin. Opening the door, he brought her inside and kicked the door closed with his foot.

Looking down at Hermione she was shaking as he says softly to her," You can open your eyes now. It's safe."

Hermione slowly opened her eyes and sees his eyes were staring at him with wide scared eyes.

She shook against him in fear she tries to wiggle against his grasp almost yelling," Let me go! Please! I want my mamma and papa! Please!"

She kept struggling as he held her kneeling down with her in his arms as she starts to hit him with her fists. Tears streaming down her face as she cried out with fear and anxiety," Mamma! Papa! Help!"

The man immediately held her close to him in a hug and she stilled instantly tears still streaming down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry...," he says as he held her bringing a hand up to hold her against him. "I'm so sorry little one...your parents...I don't think made it...out of the fire," he confessed.

Hermione gasps and her body shook with tears in her eyes anew as she fell onto her knees crying once more. For her beloved mother and father being gone from her life and not taking the time to be with them like they wanted. The man held her close against him as she kept crying out her pain, her sadness, and her fears.

What seemed like hours she finally started to quiet down to have fallen asleep against him. Picking her up gently he held her against him as he brought her to his room and laid her in his bed.

He brushed her hair back as she stirred lightly and grabbed his hand," I don't want to be alone..."

He nods and sits beside her and she asks softly," What's your name, Sir?" He looks at her as he rubbed her fingers in between his and answers," It's Fenrir...Fenrir Greyback."
