The Fairy Goddess Chapter 2:

Don't stop moving

The sun peeked through Lucy's window signaling that it was time to rise for the day. She stretched and looked at the alarm clock next to her bed. 6:30 Am. "Ugh." Lucy groaned at the time. She had only gotten a few hours of sleep last night because she had been making training plans. After she had gotten home last night, she had remembered Loke. When she had finally gotten around to summoning her loyal lion, she was caught off guard by the awful state he was in. His clothes were torn, and his mane was messed up, and the physical exhaustion was evident by the expression on his face. She immediately ran to his side, engulfing him in a hug. She sat the lion spirit on her bed and started some tea on the stove. While it was preparing she sat next to him. "Loke, what happened?" Lucy asked the shaken spirit with concern.

"Grimoire Heart attacked us during the S-class Exams in search of Zeref. We defeated them, but were badly injured. Then Acnologia attacked, but nothing we did could stop him. Then he sent a blast of magic at us and I was sent away. I don't know what happened to the others. I'm so sorry Lucy. I feel like I failed you." Lucy looked at him with sympathy. She put her hand on his shoulder.

"It wasn't your fault. You did everything you could and I'm proud of you." Loke looked at his wizard with sadness in his eyes.

"Thank you princess." She smiled. Then he remembered what he had brought back from Tenroujima. His hand went into his pocket. "Here." He pulled out the golden gate key. "I believe this belongs to you." Lucy took it and her eyes widened as she saw the key. This was one of her mother's gate keys. Capricorn. She looked up at the lion spirit with disbelief.

"H-how?" The blonde spirit mage asked in confusion.

"One of the members of Grimoire Heart used to work for your mother and was entrusted with Capricorn's key before he turned evil. It's yours now." Lucy looked at him with shock, before smiling and thanking the lion spirit. Taking the tea kettle off the stove and bringing out three cups, Lucy walked back to her faithful lion. Setting the tea and teacups down, she summoned her new spirit to make a contract. Bowing before her, Capricorn said his greetings. Lucy smiled and greeted the sea goat. After their contract was completed, Loke and Capricorn had stayed out and helped her to develop an intense training program. After the extended period of time keeping both golden zodiac spirits out, she sent them home and went to bed. Lucy stepped into the bathroom pushing away her thoughts of the previous night.

"Ahh." Lucy sighed as she stepped into the hot water of her shower. Stepping into something hot always felt amazing during winter. Heat. Lucy frowned. She missed Natsu. Sure, it was nice getting her bed to herself but she missed her best friend. She missed everyone. Sighing, she got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around herself. After dressing herself properly, she summoned Crux. "Crux, I need you to find any information you can about what happened to Tenroujima Island." Crux nodded in acknowledgement before returning to the celestial realm. Turning towards her reflection in the mirror, Lucy let a few tears escape before brushing them away. "You have to be strong now." She told herself. "Your family is depending on you." With that she left her apartment.

A short while later at the guild…

Lucy walked into the guild at 7:30. Even though they had all agreed that their missing members were alive, the air was filled with sadness. A few of the members had already left the guild it had seemed. Reedus, Jet, Droy, Laki, and Alzack had left with some members of Blue Pegasus and Lamia Scale to do their own investigation of Tenrou. Lucy made her way to the bar, where an obviously down Kinana was absentmindedly cleaning a glass. "Kinana?" Lucy shook the purple haired woman out of her thoughts. "Are you okay?" Kinana looked at her with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

"Yeah, I just got some stuff on my mind. Can I do something for you?" Lucy looked at her with sympathy for a second, knowing she was lying, but decided not to speak more on the issue.

"I was wondering if you could make me one of those delicious strawberry smoothies of yours. I'm starting a new training program today and I don't want to do it on an empty stomach." Kinana smiled at her.

"Of course, Lucy!" The barmaid walked off as Bisca slid into the seat next to her. The gun mage had slightly puffy eyes, signifying the fact that she had previously been crying. Before she could decide whether or not to comment on it, Bisca asked her a question.

"A new training program? Can I join you today?" The Blonde nodded at her green haired friend. Lucy took the smoothie from the barmaid and said her thanks before the mages set off for the back entrance of the guild. On their way out, Romeo bounced up to them.

"Watcha doin'?" He asked the two mages.

"Training." Lucy said shortly. Romeo looked excited.

"Can I go too?" Bisca looked to Lucy and Lucy told him to ask his dad. A few minutes later with Macao's allowance, the three set off for the training field. Lucy led them to the center and beckoned for them to sit down with her.

"Okay, so here is my new training program. In the mornings I start with meditation to enhance my magic, and then I will run 3 laps. This will be followed by 15 jumping jacks and 5 pushups. After this I am going to go back to the bar to get a snack and a drink while taking a break, and then I'm gonna come back out for sparring practice with my spirits. Then I am going to meditate again. After I get used to this schedule, I am going to increase the intensity. How does that sound?" Lucy asked of her two new training partners.

"Sounds good to me." Bisca said.

"Me too. Let's get started." Romeo said with excitement. Maybe if he got really strong with Lucy-nee, his dad would let him join the guild officially.

"Okay then!" Lucy giggled. She summoned Capricorn out to instruct them in their meditation.

"How may I help you Lucy-sama?" Capricorn asked the blonde spirit mage. Lucy smiled.

"Hi Capricorn! I was hoping that you could instruct us in our meditation sessions." The sea goat nodded.

"It would be my honor Lucy-sama." Capricorn replied. "Okay, first you have to close your eyes and feel for the magic inside you. If you focus you should be able to feel it pulsing throughout your body. Then you will push it out of your body so it can mix with the magic in the air, before pulling it back inside yourself. Doing this everyday will increase your magic storage and even help you create new spells if you get advanced enough. This is specifically true for Celestial Wizards, who used this as special training in the past, but has long since been lost." Capricorn explained as the three wizards in his company focused on drawing out their power. "Oh, and fair warning, moving your magic in and out of you will cause you to feel tingly when the ethernano particles move through your skin." The sea goat added as he walked around the group.

"Oh!" Lucy gasped as her eyes shot open. Her hair was defying gravity and a golden aura surrounded her. The golden light shined off her skin and circled around her. Capricorn was right. It did tingle when the magic left her body, but it also made her feel more powerful.

"Wow!" Romeo said in awe at the sight of the golden cloaked wizard. "That's so cool!" Lucy giggled at his reaction. She looked over to Bisca who was also looking at Lucy with awe. Bisca smiled and shut her eyes to concentrate. A minute later Bisca was also glowing in a magic aura, this one the same color as her hair. "Cool!" Romeo said when he finally noticed. Filled with new determination, he shut his eyes again to focus. After a few minutes he started to glow as well. Romeo's magical aura was a dark purple, the same as his father's fire magic. "I'm doing it too!" Romeo said with excitement. The other mages just smiled at him. Not long later, Lucy stopped releasing magic and fell back on her arms, followed by Bisca and Romeo.

"If this is all, may I return to the spirit world for now Lucy-Sama?" Capricorn piped up after the 3 mages had rested up a bit." Lucy nodded her head and thanked him before he bowed and took his leave. After a few more minutes, the three mages got up and began their laps, which was quite difficult for Lucy. Before they had even finished the first lap Lucy was exhausted. Bisca (who was in pretty good shape) and Romeo (who was filled with energy) looked at each other with worry and then looked to Lucy who had her hands on her knees panting.

"I *pant* don't know *pant* why I *pant* thought this w- *pant* was a good *pant* idea. *pant.*" Bisca leaned over to rub her back to see if it would make her feel better.

"Are you okay?" Bisca asked Lucy with concern. Lucy nodded her head, panting still.

"I'll be okay. Just tired." After they rested a bit they continued on. After they finished Lucy collapsed on the ground followed by Romeo and then Bisca who sat next to them panting. After a few minutes of rest, Bisca reached out her hand to the others.

"Come on. Let's do the last part of this section of the workout and then we can take a break." Sighing, the other two took her hand and stood up. With exhaustion they both started doing their fifteen jumping jacks and after a breathing break they struggled through their pushups. After a few more minutes they walked into the guild. As they walked to the bar Lucy checked the clock to see it was 9:45 in the morning. They all sat down and ordered water. Then Lucy ordered a salad, Bisca ordered a small chicken sandwich, and Romeo ordered some chicken nuggets. At 10:15 they had all finished with their stuff and rested up a bit, so they decided to go back outside. Once outside, Lucy summoned Capricorn, Loke, and Virgo.

"Hi guys! Can you help us in sparring practice?" Lucy asked her newly summoned spirits. They all agreed. As they settled into sparring position, Lucy looked at Romeo. "Romeo, maybe you should sit this part out."

"No! I want to participate too!" Romeo insisted. Lucy sweatdropped at his persistence.

"Fine, you can spar with Capricorn in the first round and then you have to sit out for the rest of the rounds." Romeo excitedly agreed and they all got into their places. "GO!" Lucy yelled. Virgo and Bisca were locked in a nasty one-on-one battle with each other, throwing punches and blocking while sliding some kicks in too. Next to them Lucy was sparring with Loke who spent the time blocking all her hits while expressing his love for her. Then you could see Capricorn instructing Romeo on how to best land an attack on his opponent, while blocking all the hits and sending light ones right back at him. After the first round Romeo thanked Capricorn and sat to the side so he could watch the rest of the match. After starting the second round, Lucy and Bisca teamed up against the three spirits for group sparring practice. They continued this into the third round before thanking the spirits who returned to their world and sitting down exhausted. After a small break, they began meditating. When they were done, they returned back inside.

"It's 11:45." Bisca states. "Let's get lunch." Romeo nodded and followed her.

"I'm going to shower first." Lucy started walking away. After she had showered and changed into her new set of clothes she left the guild bathroom and walked back to the bar to order her lunch. Walking up to the bar, she waved for Kinana's attention. "Hey Kinana, can I get a strawberry smoothie, a chicken sandwich and a salad?" Lucy asked.

"Sure Lucy!" Kinana said with a small smile. Lucy sat down at the bar next to Bisca. Bisca smiled, and took a sip of her beverage.

"Hey Lucy, are you still on for girl's night this coming weekend? I asked Laki and Kinana and they said they'd come." Bisca asked Lucy. Lucy responded with a nod, sipping the smoothie Kinana had given her. "Cool. I was thinking we could all get ready at my house after dinner on Saturday night and then head over to Diamond's Night Club. Is that cool with you?"

"Yep!" Lucy responded. Bisca smiled.

"Cool! See you later then Lucy! I have some errands to do." Lucy said her goodbyes, and Bisca was on her way. After she finished her meal, Lucy decided to go home. Checking her hair in the mirror, she summoned Cancer to straighten out her hair since she had cut it unevenly. After she thanked him and sent him back, she did some writing on her book.

Time Skip

Wednesday, December 20, X784

"Hmm." Lucy said out loud. "I really should go on a job if I want to stay ahead of my rent. Especially with this being the holiday season." She scanned over the jobs. "What's an easy one?" She scanned some more and found one that seemed relatively easy. "Capture a small band of bandits. Reward: 60000 Jewels." Lucy thought to herself. "That sounds pretty good! Of course this will be my first mission without my team. Maybe I should go with someone? But who?" As if she were being summoned, Bisca popped up.

"Hey Lucy, watcha doing?" Bisca asked, peering over her shoulder. Lucy smiled.

"Looking at jobs. Do you want to take this one with me?" Lucy asked Bisca while angling the flyer at her. Bisca looked over it and then nodded.

"Sure! Wanna meet at the train station at 3?" She asked. Lucy nodded in agreement. "Cool, see you in two hours!" and then they parted ways, Bisca to pack and Lucy to get the request approved.

Time Skip, the next day

After they had arrived the previous day, they had met with their employer and discussed the job. After that they had grabbed a quick dinner before going over their plan and going to bed. That brings them to this morning. Bisca and Lucy were sitting by the sides of the road, hiding behind some trees. In their meeting yesterday, they had discovered that the bandits enter the small town from the same dirt road everytime. By staking it out, the two were hoping to find the bandits. Luckily, the bandits ended up revealing themselves. There were 5 men in all, all riding in a horse drawn wagon. As they came by, Lucy and Bisca jumped out. Summoning Virgo, Lucy and Virgo fought three of them together, while Bisca shot two with non-fatal magic bullets. After they were tied up, Lucy summoned Gemini to impersonate one of the men and lead them back to the hideout, while Virgo took the unconscious men to the town jail.

Lucy's POV

When we finally got to the hideout, it was quiet and seemed pretty empty. We were pretty sure there were no more members, but we decided to check anyway. It was when Bisca decided to continue down the hallway, and I decided to check a lounge-like room, that I realized that we weren't alone.

"Hello, little girl. Are you lost?" A deep voice said from behind me. I turned to see a man with long dark hair peering at me from upstairs. His face had a little bit of stubble and on his upper arm there was a tattoo of a purple dragon.

"No, I am not lost. Who are you?" I said with as much confidence as I can muster.

"My name is Rocco, the leader of the Scales Bandits. Who are you, and what is your purpose here?" He replied, piercing blue eyes meeting my own brown eyes.

"My name is Lucy, a Fairy Tail mage, and I'm here to arrest you." I said, pushing back my fear.

"Oh really? I guess I can't go easy on you then." Without a second's notice, he joined me on the main floor and we began to spar. After hearing the racket, Bisca joined me, and we made quick work of him. When we were done, and Virgo had left to deliver him to the town jail, Bisca led me to where they had stored their stolen goods, and we delivered them to their proper owners before leaving for home.

Time Skip, that night. (Back in third person).

Lucy went to her desk to start writing as she did every night after she bathed. This time however, she didn't JUST write a letter to her mom and continue her novel. Tonight she decided to write a letter to her team, because she dearly missed them.

Dear Team Natsu,

I hope you come back soon. I miss you a lot. I miss your silly arguments and insults. I miss Happy teasing me and Natsu stealing my bed, and Erza's leadership and Gray's horrible habit of stripping even. All of you have become my family, my nakama, and I don't know how to do this without you. I just went on my first mission without you guys. It turned out well. Bisca and I took down some bandits AND we got the full reward. But even that I miss about you guys, despite the fact that keeping ALL of the reward money is a nice change. I just want you to come back. We all miss you. I hope you are okay.

I love you always,

~Lucy

After finishing up the rest of her writing, Lucy got ready for bed. She did have to be up for Girls Night tomorrow after all!

AN: Hey! It's Salem! I'm terribly sorry about the wait. I think we all know how crazy the past few years have been. Anyways, this chapter was mostly finished last summer, but I added a little to it. I just wanted everyone to know that I DO intend to finish the stories I have been writing. It will just take me a while. I just restarted Fairy Tail so that I can get back into writing this and SWG. Please leave a review because it keeps me motivated to write! Thank you and sorry again!

With Love,

~Salem
