Chapter 2
AN: I'm going to call Greece, Hellas. Since that is what it is actually called in the ancient Greek world and now by actual modern Greeks. Which is the logic for why Hellas will be used to describe the landmass from now on. Hellenes are the people now, not Greeks, just Hellenes from Hellas. Still don't own anything, duh. Btw in case, it wasn't clear, the idea of the Machine God(not an actual entity) became a deity due to the nature of the new universe. Thus, it is not omniscient due to its lack of strength, and to a degree is really just more of a collection of ideas that gained sentience, and a degree of sapience. One last thing, I don't know any Hellene(Greek) names, so I am just using some names I found from google. I will specify if the name I use is referring to the actual famous figure.
The trip towards earth as it was once called was as swift as possible. Terra while not their Mars had always held a special place in the Machine God's eyes. Blue, green, brown, white, all of the colours that made it so unlike Mars. The homeworld of humanity, a treasure. 'We guided them in our memory, we shall guide them as we were meant to, for it is the future of humanity to rule over the galaxy. Once humanity's knowledge grows our own will become whole again...surely. That we are certain of, as certain as we can be without absolute understanding.'
Terra came into view but unlike before they continued even closer till they began to reach the atmosphere. 'Based on the planet's axis and the current state of the green in the plants, it must be either late spring or early summer in the northern hemisphere.' the thoughts we pushed aside after they entered closer to the planet. Once they were closer, the trinity began to sense a large concentration of power. It was difficult to describe the sensation that they felt.
Power and domain seemed the most accurate terms. Discerning more than that was not easy, though the Machine God did make out two sources of the domain that were discerned much easier. These two sources seemed to resonate with their own being. The concentration of this power was on what seemed to be a peninsula and a series of islands. As they became closer to this oddity they noticed something begin to show now that distance had lessened.
Small winding roads of stone, and relatively primitive farmland. While the trinity wanted to investigate those odd sources of strength that had drawn his attention in the first place. Understanding the land he now found himself in was a more pressing concern, especially when investigating those sources that relied on the knowledge that they did not possess any longer.
'Investigation will shed light upon our goals and bring forth opportunity.' the immaterial being flew down from where he hung in the air. A small community was present nearby, after a few more moments of movement they began to watch as people moved and went about their tasks. Their clothing was simple, to say the least, likely in that style due to the climate. 'It is interesting to be guessing, we think we like it.' their non-vocal speech was silent to all but themselves.
Moving slower now, the foreign being came across two males talking next to some buildings. If they had a physical body then position-wise they would be next to both of these men. Listening, the deity heard an unfamiliar language greet their mind. The frustration of being linguistically inept in this situation was building, 'If only we knew what these two were saying! Why can we not understand?!' a few moments passed. The conversation continued uninterrupted, 'We need more knowledge, we need more power to know.' thoughts churned in the being's mind before it came to a sudden conclusion, it was a thought that seemed to come from the very air.
That is to say, they did not know where the answer came from, it just appeared and presented itself as a fact inside their mind with room for doubt, 'I must make them believe in me, with belief comes faith, with faith strength in Domain. And from our domain comes knowledge.' with a goal in mind the trio of forces began to look around.
The God of all machines surveyed the community before him, there was what appeared to be an open space filled with several people all talking or exchanging items, 'A basic market, perfect for gathering attention.' the movement to the rough center of the market was swift. Once there the trinity reached down to the earth and found that they could in fact move physical things if they focused.
Hope and purpose now entered the mind in fresh waves. They needed focus to move the dirt in a noticeable way, this caused them to become unconsciously oblivious towards their surroundings. The dirt was slowly moved in such a way as to make a circle about five feet in diameter. Then around that circle, another circle which looked to be dotted even intervals.
From those spaced intervals extended rectangular teeth, the crude drawing of a cog in the dirt of a market. The teeth were even in number and once they had finished the gear itself, the Machine God was about to begin to finish the Cog Mechanicus by drawing the skull. A small thought stopped them from acting, 'Our servants looked at our cog with reverence and worship, but they grew up with it as a holy symbol, the only time these early humans have seen a skull would be death. That could taint their image of us.' As their attention shifted from the cog to outward they noticed the crowd.

Clio stood in the market with her mother, she had gone with her mother Alexandra to purchase some items for dinner tonight. Clio was only thirteen, young enough to still help her parents, yet not old enough to start worrying about getting married yet. After all, her village was a well-off and thriving one. Many of the villagers lived to old age making marriage at such a young age unfavourable in not only her community but many surrounding ones as well. Planning of a marriage before the age where a daughter could safely birth a child was rare in these communities
Of course, like many children in her age group, she had to stand by as her mother spoke with a friend. While she waited for her mother to finish talking her gaze wandered around in search of any interesting sights. For a while, she would find no such cure for her boredom. However, as the young girl's eyes wandered over her surroundings, a small bit of movement seemed to be at the corner of her vision. Glancing over at the movement she found her gaze on the center of the market.
In the dirt was a drawing, this would not be uncommon since many children enjoyed spending time doodling in the ground. Especially when they were not free to go and play like they would be if they came to the village's traders with their guardians. This drawing was different however, it was drawing itself in the hardened soil. "Mom. Mom. Mom!" Clio spoke with a slight sound of alarm in her voice, each utterance of her 'mom' slightly louder till it was a bit above normal speaking volume.
While talking with her friend Georgia who had come to the market to sell some vegetables from her and her husband's farm. Alexandra turned to her daughter Clio after she heard the way her daughter called her, "What is it sweety?" her child pointed at the market's open air.
"There is something there, mom. The dirt is drawing by itself." the words brought not only her attention to the ground but also Georgia. As the two women looked for themselves they saw a fully completed circle in the dirt, with round dashed lines beginning to form around it.
Alexandra spoke with a voice that was startled and afraid, "What in the name of Hera is that?!" her shout drew more attention from those around than the words themselves. Though admittedly such a frightened exclamation was bound to bring forth the people's gazes no matter the words. A small number of people began to turn to see what had caused her to yell. As people looked at the supernatural sight, it drew in others an almost magnetic pull.
Some called to others to come and see, some pulled back to a small distance to see safely. All were whispering, many were questions of what was being put into the dirt, a foreign sign of some kind. But several were murmuring of evil spirits and witchcraft. But none completely pulled away, the thought crossed their minds but surprisingly none acted on that impulse.
AN: Just thought I'd mention for future reference that I do not know binary so if I make a mistake please tell me, like concept-wise. I wouldn't go down that route much but considering the relation between the Omnissiah and programming.
