Asuka's room was a lie.
Despite the depopulation of Neo Domino, the looming blackness above them, the gangs, and the threat of Yubel. Asuka's room looked like a high school girls' through and through. She had painstakingly touched up the paint job of her new room. Designing it so that it was bright, with floral accents and posters of the current and past women of athletic aspirations and accomplishments.
Unless one opened the curtain that revealed the painfully dark outside world, as the only real intrusion. The groceries were in the kitchen where Junko was with Momoe working on dinner... getting inspiration same thing. The two of them were turning into culinary witches, it was getting comical to walk by and see them fixatedly looming over some poor defenseless pot.
While all the duel spirits thought this was incredibly neat. So much so that they would actively stay invisible but cluster around the 'pot' to see what the pair would concoct. An interesting proposition for someone like Natasha who was a centaur. Or Spirit who stuck with Momoe on her own now but still had a quiet morose expression on her face.
The binoculars were hanging on the edge of a shelf, black in color with a black cord with a notebook resting beside it on the shelf with a pen stuck in the binding. Just because it was night, and the binoculars were not inferred, didn't mean she wouldn't see anything. Most people just used their phones, but the binoculars were something she found in an abandoned condo on the early days of their time here. Somehow feeling the weighted binoculars was a pleasure, it was solid, in her hands and sometimes it just helped to feel grounded. Unlike using a phone, the weight of the binoculars was just a comfort at this point.
A clean room was an easy to make ones' way to the window room. Picking up the binoculars she went to the balcony doors and checked the dark world outside her little condo cocoon. Absently reaching to the side she pulled out her notebook, clicked on the small writing light and began writing. The notebook, with its ice skate cover, held rows of words and numbers. Some buildings had their lights on 24/7 despite being unoccupied. Lights being cut off meant it was time to check if a light had died, or if the place was occupied.
Each side of the apartment building was checked, Fubuki was responsible for the north and the east, while she had south and west. The first thing to stick out to her though, was the fade in and out of one light. It was on the far west of her window, the building held 3 sets of lights, and this one was low enough that it appeared to be peeking over a roof at her. Its light was blooming weakly in this yellowed dying light.
She marked it as needing to be visited in her notebook, before switching to the next building over. That one had a light at the top floor only. Several more buildings and notes were taken before she made one more sweep. A shape was blocking her view of the second building light on her final sweep. Enough that got her to pause and study the way the light was cast against the back of something between her and whatever.
It appeared as though a person shape, but for someone to be 'there' made her turn the dial to enlarge the image. If it was a gang there should have been more, and she would need to check with the girls to cross reference their notebooks in case someone 'did' see something. The black figure didn't move as she watched, the image cleared up a little more so it was 'clearly' a person shaped being. But that was all she could see...
Until someone else joined it. Making 'it' a 'them' as they were joined on the roof top, with the shape of the 'shoulders' suggesting the pair were either eyeing the building with the light or facing her...
Given the angle they had to be on the other side of the building, possibly leaning against the short wall of the roof.
"Girls? Did you see anyone interfering with the second building?" Asuka called out a frown so deep on her face it carried itself in her voice.
"Nooo?" Junko could be heard answering from the kitchen. But soon enough she was at Asuka's room with Momoe coming up from behind. "Asuka?" Junko didn't like how Asuka turned white as she stood there, or how she suddenly ducked behind the wall. "Asuka?!"
Asuka's room was dark, she kept the curtains closed and the lights off to hide the fact that people lived in the condo. They all did. But the light she used to write in her notebook was next to the wall and too high to be on a shelf...
"They're... they're waving back?!" Asuka was clearly talking to herself before she addressed the pair. "I saw a person on top of the building between us at the second light we check. Then another joined and now they're waving at me. I mean why wave to an empty condo?"
Momoe didn't go further into the room, Junko wasn't exactly rushing, when Tutu floated through the wall.
"Um the pot is boiling and the room feels a little ummm..." Tutu began while Asuka went to the curtain and took a peek outside.
She fell back in a shriek, sending Junko falling back in alarm and Momoe collapsed into a blubbering mess. All the spirits who had been in the kitchen swarmed the bedroom in alarm, while Cyber Phoenix came swooping in from the ceiling. The bird didn't stop the momentum and allowed itself to be carried out past the curtains.
Below the spirit was Judai, gone was the school uniform, and instead he wore this tight black outfit. His spirits looked defeated, while another human that Cyber did 'not' recognize so assumed was this 'Jesse' person was reclining on the balcony edge. In matching attire and unable to see their expresssions Phoenix could only go by their postures and the demoralized expressions on their spirits.
A blast of wind came rushing towards it, causing him to bank hard to the side before swerving and turning to go back into the condo.
"We're under attack! EVERYONE!" It shrieked out as loud as an eagle, carrying not just across the condo where the other spirits were lounging about.
It carried through the air, sending Red Eyes Black Dragon's head up in alert, even the Blue Eyes White Dragon that stayed at the KaibaCorp head office lifted her head.
While at the twins condo Yusei's duel spirits came out in force.
"Alert! Alert! Cyber Phoenix has called an intruder alert!"
The voices came from everywhere, stiff, mechanical voices of machines that sent the twins flying off their seats and into each other in alarm. Ryus' hands shot up covering his ears from the deafening sound, while the teens took to their feet as lights were flashing, sirens blaring. From the peace of a early dinner to a full five alarm panic.
"Junk Warrior! Patch in to Cyber Phoenix, what type of intruder is this?" Yusei ordered as he moved to the middle of the room, between the doors that lead to the pool and the elevator that would lower them to the ground so they could ride. 'Aki can empower the Cybers until we get there...' he thought to himself.
Junk Warriors' eyes emitted red, before it spilled out into the room with a 3D visual of Judai and Jesse.
"Aki, dragons!"
Aki didn't even need words, the buffeting of wings and the low roar of rocket propulsion above the condo shuddered the ceiling sending the lights swaying. Stardust, Black Rose, and Power Tool, all manifested as the human Dragons went rushing out the door. Without prompting, Stardust grabbed the five humans while Aki called out instructions for the dragons to go to Asuka's condo.
"No, Black Rose should carry us, you're a flying bulls eye," Yusei pointed out up at his dragon.
Zalinka and Ryu were on their tails, watching in the flecks of Stardusts' eternal light as the disgruntled dragon deposited everyone on Black Rose. Power Tool dimmed its own lights decidedly before rumbling into the darkness.
The winds drifted along their skin, reminding Zalinka that she wasn't cold anymore since it felt good on her skin...
"They left us here..."
"I mean we can't do anything..." Ryu pointed out as nonchalantly as he could.
"The action is over there," Zalinka countered.
"I have tea?" Witch offered as she floated out of the condo. The teapot in one hand, a cup in the other with several other cups floating along like ducklings.
"Unless that tea is someone elses drama..." Zalinka retorted, but there was no bite to the words just a resigned stroll over to the small spirit to claim a cup for herself.
"So from what father said, Mr. Sato somehow found himself a bride while working overseas. She seems to be the outgoing type from what the pictures show," Ryu began as he took a cup for himself...

Cyber Phoenix was still airborne while Red Eyes had taken to roost on top of the condo directly, leaning forward with his head arched down. Were he any other color, thus visible, it would have appeared almost as a European gargoyle, leaning over to protect the building from potential threats. With those sparks of flame flashing from his mouth, it was pretty clear that whatever was there was a threat.
'Red Eyes wouldn't do that if it were average humans,' Yusei thought as he sat there. Aki was in front, Black Rose was tolerate. But she wouldn't accept anyone else at the 'lead' as it were.
The three of them were sitting with Aki in front and Crow in the back, while the twins were kept snug in Power Tool Dragon's arms. Only, in a situation like this he would have preferred if the twins were able to fit on Black Roses' back as well. Though in reality, Stardust had grabbed the twins against Yusei's wishes. He didn't ask, just assumed and now the twins were with them leaving Yusei worried about their safety.
Together the twins were sharing the load of manifesting Power Tool on their own, which was an impressive feat. Yet despite it not taxing Ruka...
If Power Tool got shot out of the sky...
"Junk Warrior, does Phoenix still see..."
The building across from Asuka's occupied one suddenly exploded from the other side! Deafening as the blast was, as cement crumbled and metal groaned buckling under the weight of the building. "A-," Yusei couldn't even hear 'himself' when he spoke. While electric fire raced up his arm from where the Mark glowed, alerting the four of them that Aki was using more her power.
Red Eyes flung himself forward into the building and began trying to shove it aside, while the Cyber Dragons flew out of the building and joined in the desperate attempt to protect the building. Stardust burst into view and joined the other dragons, between the six of them they shoved the building to an angle. It would cut the teens off from going north but that was inconsequential at this point.
The Black Garden was rising around the teens condo, as the noise from the collapsed building continued to ring in their ears. Dust was obscuring their vision from their elevated position while Black Rose eyed the ground with beady eyed focus. Stardust was illuminating the area by the nature of his being, but with Sanctuary there was less cause for concern than the others. Defeat here just sent him back to the Duel Spirit World to mend. But if 'Yubel' was around...

"We need to get out," Asuka ordered while Natasha pulled Junko then Momoe onto her horse back. Tutu was dancing in place behind Asuka as she longed to grab her partner and just race out, but Asuka would not leave the girls and Tutu didn't want to either. While in the distance they could hear the guys shouting for the girls wondering what was going on.
CyberBlader came skating by with all the intense focus of a derby roller, she slammed skates into the 'ground' to stop. "The dragons came and stopped the building from falling onto this one, you don't need to panic. But we should get out while we can, in case they try to topple another building." The Spirit reported before she hurled herself forward, with a high probability towards the guys to alert them of what happened.
"What happened?" Momoe asked, with her arms wrapped around Junko. The whole building 'shook' from some force and hearing Blader say it was one of the other condos? About to crash into 'this' one? Her stomach had dropped as she heard that, her arms didn't clench tightly enough around Junko for her liking. Her mind wound itself back to the moment they walked into Asuka's room.
It had been dark which was to be expected.
"Hi Captain!"
It was muffled by the glass and the curtain.
It could have been muffled by a mountain.
But Momoe recognized that voice, it had been a bit more vapid back then. But there had been an absentminded innocence to it. Now Judai sounded as though he was trying to be cheerful, but was too serious for it to sound like anything but sincere.
Asuka's shriek of alarm was followed by the sound of stumbling and her body hitting the floor. "Is that how Japanese people greet their friends? I was always told that you were incredibly polite..."
Momoe didn't know the other voice, but she knew enough English to know what was said. While she had listened to Asuka's recounting of the tale to Junko back before the thing above them appeared. The person sounded kind from the way Asuka described him, but this voice wasn't.
"Come on out Captain! We're going to have a party tonight and Yubel said we could invite anyone!"
"Judai." It was the only thing that Asuka could respond with.
"I think Judai and Jesse were across on the top of another condo and they waved at me. I turned to look at you when you reached my door and when I turned back Judai was at the glass." Asuka recalled before taking a deep breath. "I was so startled I threw myself back on instinct and fell down. They can't teleport though... How are they..."
"A condo was nearly toppled into us?" Kazu asked in complete alarm as he threw open the front door. His casual attire was in contrast for the sheer alarm on his face, while his arms were positioned to readily allow any of the girls to run under it to escape.
"Are you guys ok?" Junko asked, while Asuka asked about a report of the buildings around the guys' zones.
"From what the Emperor said, everything was clear on our side. I came to help you out, but it looks like Aki's unleashed. We're going to meet up with Yusei and see what he and the other Dragons say."
"Better plan than us standing here like idiots..." Junko agreed, before she slipped down off Natasha's back.
Said spirit began walking along, her steps painfully slow to most but she didn't feel Momoe's arms around her waist or hands on her back. Normal walking speed or a light trot was all well and good unless it sent Momoe crashing to the ground. A small 'oh' touched the spirits' ears and she felt the weight on her back shift as Momoe began sliding up her back and closer to her upper body.
"Thank you Natasha," Momoe murmured as she wrapped her arms around the towering spirit and rested her cheek against the cool metal of the warrior centaurs' armor.
The centaurs' tail swished in pleasure before she began to pick up speed while the other humans and spirits waited for them at the elevator. Natasha faded most of her body out so that she could pass through the door without wasting time getting Momoe down and back up.
"I'm just glad that worst case scenario's have you to catch us if the elevator drops us." Fubuki could be heard talking to Baby Dragon...
"Thanks for the positive energy big brother," Asuka deadpanned.
