AN: If you see the use of 'my' instead 'our', 'I' instead of 'we', 'me' instead of 'us', or not using 'they' please me know. It's important to me to have these be used, for now, soon no longer.

The trinity moved amongst the people of Dimitis, they answered a few questions they already had before but that was fine. Those who had asked those questions first may not have had much time to tell others. A few more original questions came up though they were often simple, "What… do you..." the man who was asking the question was hesitant, "Do you have a festival day we should honour my lord?"

An honest answer came, "Not that we are aware of. Nor do we expect one to be made." there was a silence before another sentence was spoken by the Machine God, "Not yet anyway. We would prefer our worshippers to do that by themselves. Then it would have more meaning since it would be freely given." the small group that followed them seemed to nod along. They did not know why the group followed them.

Perhaps the group of people simply had nothing of more interest to attend to, they were certainly a unique sight and presence. Though why they were so comfortable with that presence must have to do with their own actions and words being effective, hopefully.

Their journey was not in any particular direction, but they moved with the walking group nonetheless. Every now and then a person would leave the group, or a new person would join it. Though that was to be expected, what the deity wanted even. It gave easy sight of the person's DNA. As they moved around the village their sight would analyze the people in the village.

Of course, since they were all humans the genetic difference was not broadly shown. Given how similar most of a person's DNA was to another's, it was only in the smallest parts that true differences were seen. Each person's characteristic was noted and matched with their DNA in the mind of the lord of knowledge.

This cataloging was mostly to create a more complete understanding of how DNA worked. What made what colour or structure, what did tweaking one strain do to another. All important to keep in mind when one wishes to use and modify said DNA. It had not even been a week but the number of issues that came with not having a body showed through many times over. Of course, it came with many benefits.

But those benefits were still not needed. Their invisibility and inability to be detected while useful while they had gone to Olympus were not necessarily needed. They could hide any object or body from detection if they needed to. They were certain they could do so even from the gods. As for any other benefits, such as invincibility, or travel speed were simply not good enough reasons to not find a physical form.

And so they sought direct knowledge of DNA, especially human DNA. After all, they would speak with humans, guide humans, be served by humans. The Omnissiah was one part of the whole, and its purpose was to be the incarnation of the Machine God. But the most important point was it was meant to be a human incarnation.

The Motive Force pushed forward, its movement with the rest of the trinity had been constant but now it was even greater. Many simultaneous events were set in motion. But it was not enough, many more strings needed to be set on the spool. Spun into the tapestry they were to create.

Their words of their followers seemed to come to mind, '...our temples rivalled mountains, our followers numbered beyond your counting, and humanity stood tall… yes indeed. Shipyards that will be larger than cities here. Great machines which are tended by our flock and their priests. Busy movement, uncountable machine spirits, and our priesthood. Soon these all shall be again.'

A few flashes of new memory came to mind as these thoughts ended, "Heretek!" several Skitarii ripped through forces of unknown humanoids. There was much that was unfamiliar, but the air and even their servants' minds seemed foreign. 'Defilers, Hereteks!' the memory faded and the deity had their attention brought back to the people around them.

"Are you alright my lord?" a woman was asking and after a moment the Machine God nodded their robes and started to move again. Though they didn't know when they had stopped, to begin with. Likely when that memory started.

"Just lost in thought." it was not entirely false, they had not felt more lost as they did now. Those thoughts and feelings were, foreign and familiar at the same time. 'What actions had happened to make our servants so angry at those figures.' the group continued on through the town, 'It felt like anger, but there was something more there.'

Yet further thoughts, 'Those things did something but what? Our servants felt it was an offence against us.' they shook off the thought, 'We can not know until we do. Wondering due to lack of information is inefficient. We have other priorities.' After a while, the lord of Mars began to move towards their chapel. A few followed but most decided to leave their entourage. Eventually, they came to the chapel, there were actually a couple of other people there already.

They were not praying but instead admiring the lettering all over the walls of the small temple. Literacy was not common but the sheer beauty of the pictures and writings seemed to give off still took their attention from anything else. The two almost missed the group and the deity of the temple the pair was standing in.

After the man and women did notice the group they quickly greeted them. It seemed respectful though it wasn't exactly clear. Now that they were within the building of their own creation the group seemed to be content to examine the recent changes they had done in favour of asking more questions, for now at least. In this silence, they thought.

Their thoughts turned to the DNA they had recently observed, more specifically colours. Due to thoughts of what caused colour in what it began to lead to an idea forming in their mind. 'How will our servants carry on their tradition of honouring Mars with their robes without a source of red dye.?' The idea then led to another, 'Should they have red robes so early?'

The earliest priest they were to eventually train would have no connection to Mars, 'Should we force a tradition on them?' the idea was thought on before a conclusion was made, 'Force? No. Request? Yes, though it may be easier if we lead by example.'

That still required a dye though, where could-, 'The idea came from DNA, and it shall help in solving the idea.' the robes had not been in the temple for long before they moved outside of the building much to the confusion of the people who were wondering why they had entered only to leave not more than a few minutes later.

The entourage followed silently though the lord of all machines didn't go far. They had begun to extend their senses far outside of where they were. They were in search of materials, they had an idea of what to make but to do so they needed specific chemicals that were in low amounts here if at all. Those that were found to be needed were summoned forth.

It would take a bit of time to bring the materials though, as they had to travel. The Machine God slowly moved towards the other gods' altars, in their search they found Korban praying in front of the shrine to Athena, his new bluestone in hand. They and their group of curious people had taken a longer alternative route to their temple. And as such had not passed the old man.

Once at those altars, the deity spoke to Korban, "Korban." the man in question lifted up his head and looked at the robes of white. "I was about to do something you may find… interesting, would you care to come here to join us?" the Athenian tilted his head but nodded after a moment.

"I suppose if you say it is interesting I am in for quite a show." the materials began to float in the air as the trinity bought them to their location. The group of people now included the priest, and they moved back down towards the temple.

"Good," once the materials were all gathered, the designs all created and finished in their mind it was time to begin. The materials included things like pure water, Carbon from fallen branches and ashes, but also many other materials. And though no human there could see it there were a lot of invisible gases gathered. With the many materials in place to be used the designs took from these sources.

They began to combine the materials as well as break them down to be used. New DNA was made, it was original, in the sense that it was not a species of plant that already existed. It was something that would serve the need of the deity's priesthood for red dye. Quite simply it was a type of tree, it would produce a unique bright red fruit.

The fruits would contain a great amount of the needed ingredients for dye, so as to not need great amounts of the fruit to make dye. The tree itself was also made hearty, tough, and very long-lived. Though it was a purposefully slow seeding plant. If not it could become an annoying invasive species on this land.

The people watched as a seed was formed and put in the ground as more material was streamed towards the ground. The deity being the one to create this plant from scratch, with only the knowledge of what sequences DNA formed plants, it took only a bit of effort to stimulate the plant to grow and mature. Though it did require quite a bit of focus overall, plantlife was not within their domain after all.

A sprout came from the ground and then began to shoot out as branches formed and grew larger. With a constant source of materials, the organic machine flowered before the people's eyes. Then those flowers of red turned into an equally red and round fruit. There was no fruit like it in this land, though from the outside it was only red and round. It was not perfect, it was not a machine, but this creation would aid in its own way.

Once it was done there was a unique tree with dark colour bark, vibrant green leaves, and bright red round fruits on its branches. 'With a custom species of plant to extract resources in place. All it needs is proper fertilizer and it will create excellently packaged sources of dye material for our priests.' the lord of Mars turned to look at the people and saw their eyes bulging from their eye sockets. Especially Korban, it took a moment for them to realize why. 'Ah, yes, that's right, the olive tree… what are we going to call this species?'

The internal question went unanswered before the Athenian spoke for the shocked group of farmers and traders. "Wha- what is it?" the question caused the deity to joke with the priest.

"It is a tree," their tone was light and mirthful, a rather surprising thing really. The priest almost lost his shock as he fixed the robes with a look of disappointment, "hehe, it is a new tree made to bear red fruit."

The man looked at the tree before looking at the robes again, "Why?" the question seemed to resound among the men and women of Dimitis that were present.

"For a source of red dye to our specifications." as they spoke a few fruits were collected squeezed of their juices. The juices were quickly treated and then placed in a floating orb shape to collect all of it. The remaining parts of the fruit were quickly put back into the soil for the tree. "Korban." the priest looked up from his thoughts which he seemed to have slipped into.

"Ah yes, what is it?" the priest seemed to still be in shock, the deity supposed creating a new species of plant was harder to grasp than making a building with invisible hands.

The lord of all knowledge spoke again, "Would you mind if we dyed the robes you have given us red?"

The priest alongside the people there was now in slightly more shock than before. He recovered saying, "Why would you need my permission Omnissiah?"

The deity spoke to Korban, "Well, it occurs to us that just as you initially felt we gave you a host gift in the form of Aegis' gift." they pointed to the stone in the priest's hand, "You gave us these robes as a sort of guest gift. And we would like your permission before changing it given the cultural significance you and your people place on Xenia."

Korban seemed to think about it for a moment before he responded, "Well you don't need to think of the robe I gave you as a gift. If this stone is merely you giving me someone else's gift as you said this morning then those robes can simply be the comfort I gave you in place of food, or a bed to rest on. And as such are yours now." He smiled genuinely, seeming to have recovered from both shocks.

Though the people in the group were now speaking to each other in whispers and excited tones. So perhaps they had not yet gotten over the sight as the older man had. The robes nodded before the cloth dove into the red orb of dye mixed with water.

Invisible impermeable holds on the robe at certain points were made. The dye absorbed into the fabric everywhere but on this holds. As it moved into the cloth the people watched the red orb shrink slightly. The process was sped up and assisted by the precise immaterial hand of the lord of Mars.

There was silence as the lord of all machines thought for a moment, "Would a couple of you mind doing something for us?" The question was met with a few confused looks from the group but a few nods. "We need cloth and thread. Enough to make a few more robes. If any of you would be willing to buy us these items from the market we would be willing to repay you for it."

The man and women who were in the temple first from before volunteered and got up to leave for the market in a somewhat hurried manner. Not long after they left the robe was removed from the orb. Leaving still quite a bit of dye as any excess was taken and put back in the drying process of the robes. The previously mentioned holds were on the hood, the sleeves and the bottom of the robes.

This meant that those areas all roughly half an inch inward were white while the new red dye showed bright and vibrant. The holds were intentionally shaped as lines half an inch thick parallel along their edges. Another quarter-inch would frequently jut into the robes as a boxed shape. The image meant to illustrate the teeth of a cog.

"Omnissiah." the deity hummed in acknowledgement of Korban. "I have a feeling I know what you mean to use those materials for. So I won't ask about that. But I must ask, what do you plan to do after you complete those robes? You always seem to be busy with something."

As they talked a few of the group moved to look that the new tree closer, though none yet touched it. The newly red cloths were flattened out and appeared to be inspected by the invisible deity before they were made into their now familiar humanoid shape. "Well, we had a few near-future plans in mind. But which of our future plans is next?"

A pause and it was decided, "Perhaps we could go to Tritia and meet that trader you mentioned." 'And check on our shrine.'

AN: A late Merry Christmas to all of y'all, a late Happy Sanguinella and I will see everyone in the new year. Also, tree name recommendations would be appreciated, something that fits the thematics preferred.
