Carly hung back from the others, as her gaze listlessly bounced from the sameness of the condo. In the distance she could hear the conversation, no screams or yelling, so whatever it was proved to be harmless. 'No harm in looking downstairs... this condo got swept up after all. If the bottom is also cleaned up we can camp there for tonight... Otherwise...'

Carly refused to sleep in a dusty place. A little dust was always fine, but these buildings were showing how much dust could accumulate in the span of months. So she walked to the elevator and had it bring her down another floor.

Butter smooth the lift lowered her down as the shields that blocked her view of the interior moved into place. No music played in the elevator while her shadow hid under her from the golden light emanating from within from her spirits. With only the slightest sense of a dip when it stopped having reached the next floor. When the shields slipped out of the way the gold light spilled forth into the room.

The previous residents apparently had used a mood light setting as the lights didn't just blast into full brightness. Instead it was slow, subtle, the lights around the elevator were the first to light up, blooming a soft white to mingle with the cocoons gold turning the room into a more sunshine yellow rather than cold somber white or deep yellow. The ground wasn't dusty, suggesting that whoever took care of the upstairs came here too.

'Impressive given how little time they had...' she thought, granted Yusei and or Aki could have helped, yet neither were covered in dust or showed signs of washing it out.

More lights came up easing the light for the would be occupant and keeping them from being blinded. All the while bringing a startled smile on Carly's lips as she realized 'this'... 'This' was a place she could stay at!

The walls were a mash of painted colors, outdoor scenes of Africa on one wall, the glaciers of the arctic south WITH penguins on another. Straight up artwork, various colors the ceiling revealed itself to be a deep royal blue. A shade she hadn't seen in the sky her whole life! Eagerly she walked out into the space and took in the ambiance of the area. On the wall flush with the elevator was another sample of the 'moon' of all things! Wild and creative one wall was a standard shade of green, just floor to ceiling and she couldn't fathom why.

'Does it matter?!' The kitchen had that cooking mouse waiting next to the stove painted on the back wall! 'Oh a cooking partner!' she mentally squealed as she looked at the partially wiped kitchen. It was low though, everything that was adult height was dusty, 'maybe the twins?' Carly rushed to the bathroom to see what...

"Its a BEACH!?" Carly squealed aloud as she took in the Mermaid who had been painted into the wall. The floor didn't look of clean tiles, it had been designed to look like the top of the ocean and the mermaids' body disappeared into the waves below!

"Carly?!" Jack's voice there, distant but inside the condo.

"Jack! Look! This place is 'perfect'! I love it!" Carly ran out of the room and found Jack already striding towards her.

For poor Jack, realizing Carly had disappeared, it was only natural for him to go and find her. So when the elevator rose 'up' it told him she had gone down, 'off to see the other condo?' She left so suddenly she probably didn't like the sterile repeat of the twins condo.

But any thought he might have had fled when the doors started to open and Jack heard Carly's 'ECH!'

Perhaps it was too many people screaming in terror in succession, but it got Jack's heart rate elevated again as he called to her.

"Jack! Look! This place is 'perfect'! I love it!"

That phrase alone was enough to slow Jack down as a wave of relief washed over him. More over, in the sunlit hallway he could see the life and light he had missed returned to Carly's face. Exuberance radiated off her as she rushed to him, grabbed his hand and began pulling.

A 'King' did 'not' allow himself to be dragged along.

But Carly was so happy he allowed himself to be dragged along, just this once. While his eyes took in the amazing amount of art painted into the walls. The walls screamed that this person was a painter, a creator, someone who worked in the realm of realism and dabbled in whimsy. A fellow creator, clearly a painter to some degree, and rich enough to afford the type of condos Jack enjoyed.

That was the thing about where Carly lived, it was bright, cheery and pleasant, but it didn't have all the amenities that Jack expected in his home. The condo they were leaving had all of them, but they were a drab sterile existence that helped suck the life out of Carly. Perhaps himself as well as he found himself often at the twins condo working on Carly's gift. But the noise of the twins and the guys subdued the sterile and brought life around him.

Here?

It was color meets technology! It met all their needs and he found himself wondering why they didn't even think of repainting the wow that mermaid had a large chest...

Jack's thoughts crashed into a wall as he saw the bathroom, the busty mermaid was painted into the wall. In such a way that she was perched onto the block that would hold the shampoo and conditioner. Another was where the tub was, a blond and a red head and Jack wasn't sure how Carly wasn't the least bit shocked or upset. But hey if he 'had' to take a bath with such well endowed and detailed ladies...

He'd do it for Carly.

"This is perfect." Carly sniffled the words out as she moved on to check more of the condo out, "this is exactly what we could both enjoy. Its rich its fancy and it's so bright and cheery!"

She went to the master bedroom next, and while she was fine with the mermaids... she really didn't want to see someone staring back at her in there. From the living areas she would have thought the bedroom to be a jungle or maybe a desert, but with the kitchen to the bathroom... What 'would' she find in there?

Her skin tingled with something other than medicine or bruises where she reached the door. It was open a crack as so she could push it open and let her hand reach for the light switch. Pressing the button with baited breath.

It wasn't a room.

It was a treasure room!

Gold bullion strewn along the floor that rose up to piles along wall, the walls glittered with gold that faded into the darkness of the cave. Above was lost to the darkness but black with gold specks seemed to have been used... 'You'd think it was raining gold dust into the room!' she thought in awe.

'Cuz you're a treasure!'

It sounded like her fairies, the voice wasn't hers but it was filled with their life and laughter. So much so she checked but each of the cocoons were still there...

"Ahh a treasure room for the master bedroom, fitting I suppose..."

Jack's footsteps didn't even register in Carly's head amid her excitement, but now he stood behind her. "I approve, you found us a condo worthy... hmmm?"

Jack's gaze had swept the room with a critical look when he noticed the one small envelope resting on the ground. It was where the bed would be placed and stood out as the only thing 'to' stand out amid the coin, swords, chests and other 'riches' strewn about the place. Walking over he picked up the envelop where it was addressed to 'To my temporary guests'. It felt the slight weight of it before he went about opening it. A sheet of paper was folded inside, and Jack ended up reading the letter.

"Hi! If you've found this letter it means you're one of the folks looking to stay in Neo Domino as that eye looks down on us. I wanted to stay, but my parents are old and scared for me so I went to stay with them. But once life goes back to normal in Neo Domino I plan to return. I don't mind that you're here so long as you treat my home with respect. Please don't trash it or ruin the art I put into here. It was a lot of effort and I miss it already."

"It looks like we got the previous owners blessing to stay, but they will be coming back once Neo Domino stops having that thing above us." Jack announced as he turned and realized that Carly was gone. He stood there for a moment the letter left in his hand as he looked about at all the 'treasure'. A smile began to creep onto his face in amusement and relief at seeing Carly's restored enthusiasm. Walking out of the room he could hear the elevator, 'she must be going off to collect our luggage,' he thought to himself.

\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\

"Aki its perfect!" Carly burst into the twins condo with the force of the sun before the elevator finished rising. She might as well 'been' the sun at dawn with the way she radiated such joy in her very essence. Even if no one could see Carly's eyes due to her thick glasses, it was just 'her'.

"You like one of the condos?" Aki asked in surprise as Carly pinwheeled out of the elevator when she decided that it didn't need to finish rising.

"Yes! Its perfect! Come on you have to see!" Carly rushed towards her bags and began hoisting them up.

"Carly not all at once!" Yusei exclaimed, in alarm.

He had already stood up to follow Aki, and seeing the old Carly back had been comforting for all of a moment. But Carly and Asuka's groups' luggage had been piled together. And as great as seeing Carly back to her old self 'was'... She also was a giant klutz, Yusei didn't know what Asuka's group packed and he didn't want to find out some beloved family keepsake got damaged. Or have something of the twins broken because Carly overextended herself in her enthusiasm.

Indeed Carly had grabbed two suitcases, and while the top one was ok, the second one was tucked between several others.

But he might as well been talking to the air.

"The walls were all painted so is the ceiling and there's a green screen wall so I guess the person was streaming stuff too. Its not all stuffy stuff either, there's nature, but also little cartoon figures, and mermaids in the bathroom..." Carly never stopped, even as Witch desperately popped up and propped up one of the suitcases to keep it from tumbling over.

Aki grabbed one of Jack's suitcases and began lugging it after Carly with an expression mixed with amusement and disbelief. Yusei came up behind her and began dividing the suitcases for the pair.

"I love how much life is in that condo! The others are nice but the feel so cold to me." Carly spoke over her shoulder as she put the first set of bags on the elevator and went to grab another. "The lighting appears to be regular white lights, but my fairies make it look more like actual sunlight."

"I think that was mandated for the condos," Aki replied thoughtfully. "Specialty lighting is nice and all until a place is vacated." She put the suitcase down with the pile and came back to grab one of the two that Carly was tugging along. "Maybe there's a black light effect as well, you might want to see about finding one." She offered and watched as Carly's eyebrows made an appearance above the woman's glasses.

"You have a point there, especially with the way the ceiling is painted. I'm not sure, but its possible that it color changes..." Carly released one bag to Aki as she got thoughtful, "It was blue... And the sky is just shades of it sooo... I mean the bedroom is painted like a treasure filled cave! Even the ceiling has gold specks like glitter or something on it."

'Wow, that condo sounds intense...' Aki thought to herself while the pair reached the elevator. But it made her want to see it all the more, so much color and life as to bring back the life into Carly? 'Maybe that was the problem? We just thought about keeping Carly safe and not about the other aspects of her life... We should have painted their other condo not just let Jack paint on a few canvas'.'

The elevator lowered them into the downstairs one, then further, all the while Carly shifted from humming with excitement to talking about the condo itself. It was such an infectious moment that when the elevator opened Aki was more in awe than perhaps she normally would have been.

Sunlit due to the cocoons, exposed to Jack's spray paint artwork led her to appreciate more how the walls were amazing. Carly bubbled on about the art and followed Aki, revealing that the paintings weren't just good at a distance, they were good through out. One wall had a forest with spirits peeking out if one just looked even!

"This... this is above what I thought I would ever find in a condo," Aki agreed as she found herself counting spirits. "Whoever had this knows their work."

"Indeed, even if they're coming back when everything is resolved, its good for inspiration," Jacks' relaxed booming voice rumbled out from behind them. Aki turned to greet Jack as he joined them, and she could see the calm in his stride and expression.

'He sees it too...' she mused. "Well first things first then, looks like the kids couldn't get far enough down here, so you can stay upstairs for the night. Then elbow grease in the morning," Aki announced firmly.

"This isn't your condo either!" Jack growled for the sake of growling, Aki still lived in her family home. Given her power did she 'need' to worry about anyone messing with her? But having her give orders... Ok Jack was 'fine' with it. While Yusei was head of the group, but when it came to 'home' stuff Aki had moved into that position. But he wished he knew where they hid Carly's gift if Aki was ok with them staying up there now.

"Asuka's group hasn't eaten yet since they got attacked, Ruka was setting up the kitchen so they can have a late dinner." Aki explained as Carly guided her through out the rest of the condo.

Meaning that she saw the mermaids...

"Hey Aki, Yusei let Asuka and her group know that Carly and Jack are taking this wow how does she get back in the water?" Witch of the Black Rose rose up from the ground. Her eyes, already large and gem like grew bigger as she ogled the mermaids and her notice got Carly to...

"Oh... they are... kinda robust..."

"They're like their own flotation devices," Witch noted as Aki reached over, snagged her spirit by the back of her neck and began muffling the spirit.

"What's a flotation devi-wow..." Cyber Tutu had stuck her head through the floor and looked down into the room.

"I was so excited to even notice, oh even nipples," Carly noted as Aki turned to observe her older friend... If Carly was ok with it fine, but Aki hadn't expected that.

'Where's Jack?' Aki suddenly wondered as Asuka's own spirits began to join them, descending into the room with idle curiosity.

"The room is very pretty, I've never seen any of the other places like this." The young girl spirit noted as she began to investigate the room more. "Oh... There's a little glow here..." The spirit was near the ceiling of the room observing the sparse glitter that traced faint lines of coral on the wall.

"She did?" Asuka was surprised at the announcement from Yusei that Jack and Carly were taking the lower floor. The pair disappearing had been slightly worrying, yet Tutu had cheerfully offered to find the pair while Blader hung back to continue looking after Asuka.

"Yes, she checked out the lower floor while you were busy and decided on that one," Yusei explained as they shut the door to Jack's paint area. The skeletal framework of Carly's D-Wheel tucked safely inside.

"Oh that's good, Ruka took Momoe and Junko into the kitchen to make dinner. You have our gratitude for helping us out like this," Asuka reported as the other spirits lingered about the room.

"With Judai and Jesse back, hopefully we'll get that much resolved soon." Yusei agreed as he dusted off his hands.
