So credit to my DM for helping me flesh out Bambi's Backstory in my original idea for her backstory Bambi was discovered after some time by the Girls' parents who freaked out when they saw a Fawn standing on its hind legs and drove away in a panic abandoning the Cabin, leaving the door wide open for Bambi to enter where she discovered among other things, the Mom's instructional VHS Tapes on self defense which explains how she learned how to fight, DM who came up with Sassy's backstory in Flower of Life came up with something more entertaining.
Meanwhile on Third Earth, Leo had taken Bambi to his private room in the school and was having a delightful conversation over tea and those mochi ice cream dumplings.
"These are delicious!" Bambi exclaimed and she polished off her green tea flavored mochi ice creams. (Green tea was the flavor Leo preferred because it wasn't too sweet for him)
"Yeah," Leo said "I actually prefer pure mochi but at the moment I keep these instead because it's safer, some of these Cubs are worse than Mikey, they are determined to find sweets and to find a way to get them no matter how tight I lock them up, and with regular mochi well, there have been cases of Japanese children choking to death on them because they don't eat them carefully they eat them too fast and the mochi dough is very sticky, and get get stuck in your throat, one time Mikey proposed a traditional mochi eating contest and me and Don were like 'No! Most of these Mutants do not know how to eat! They eat way too fast!' We've noticed a lot of the herbivore mutants seem to do this and I suppose I get it they're just following their instincts, they're programed to eat and bolt at any moment..."
Bambi's ears flickered as she realized she wasn't that much different from the pure wild mutants...
"That does kind of bring us back to you..." Leo said "...I saw your skill in dodging those cubs before they crashed into you and I want to know, where you learned to do that?"
"Those two kids who gave me my name I told you about..." Bambi said "...They were from a rich family who owned that cabin in the mountains, the two girls, being so young and innocent were delighted when they found out I could speak and they didn't see anything unatural about it, they would come and meet me every morning, they fed me frozen chocolate covered bananas and would tell me things about the city below, about how they came up the mountain to get away from the city, at that point I began standing on my hind legs to imitate them...Then one day, the Nanny of the two girls, an older woman who I would later realize from my study of human culture that...English was not her native language, saw me...A fawn standing upright and she shrieked and started saying over and over again 'Demons! Demons!' shortly after that the family returned to the city, the final things I was told was they had to go back because of 'work' and something about getting a new nanny...
With them gone I entered the cabin, I think because of the old nanny's hysterics they forgot to lock the door and there I saw the miracles of human technology for the first time...And I stayed in the cabin, certainly was safer than just sleeping in the forest, though intially I didn't know what a bed was and instead the first few nights just slept on the floor in front of the TV.
Days went by, I waited for the family to return but they never came, I began to alieviate my boredom by playing with the things in the cabin, discovered how to turn on the TV with the remote control first thing I saw was a sports channal and something called Football, to me it didn't seem much different from the annual Rut when the male deer clash antlers to impress the girls, but anyway when I turned on the Father's desk computer I discovered through playing with it, he had a secret love of martial arts movies that he watched to unwind, but being so young I didn't realize it was fiction I thought the adventures of Jackie Chan were real, I thought this was like human life in the city was like and I feared for the human family and then I began to fear what was in the city might come up here, so that's when I thought I had to train myself, I began mimicing what I saw in the movies, first practicing on the nearby bushes and trees then after I had grown a bit and had gotten some more confidence I would go out into the forest and practice what I had learned on the predators, the wolves, the cougars even the bears!"
"I knew there was something special about you..." Leo said realizing her story was very similar to how Splinter had learned martial arts "Bambi, I've been finding with all these students I can't run this school entirely by myself, will you be my Teacher's Assistant?"
So here Bambi becomes established as Leo's T.A. In the Martial Arts School as someone who can watch the kids when Leo is off with other adventures
