On a Monday morning Gwen was in her first class of the day at the university as she waited for Lincoln to come in and take her seat next to him; finding her new friend a cute dork and finding the magic tricks that he showed her as part of his hobby to be quite well done. However Lincoln came in and looked frazzled with his hair still sticking up and she raised an eyebrow; "So what did your old man decide for you 2 to do together at the weekend?" Gwen asked about the latest of the weekend activities that Lincoln's dad has been taking him on.
"He got us skydiving and I was freaked out; especially since it turned out that the cheap deal he got meant that the parachutes were defective and almost didn't work. I was certain that I was gonna die!" Lincoln eplained and Gwen had no shortage of sympathy for him; his story bringing World Tour flashbacks to her. "I have a week to convince him to change his plans or at least find him someone else to do it with him because he said that next week he wants us to swim with sharks!" Lincoln muttered and Gwen's eyes just widened.
Their class teacher came and told them about a pair's project where they had to team up with a partner and in school or afterwards; would have to come up with an art project together that speaks to the both of them.
"Hope there's a pretty girl that will want to partner with me?" Lincoln asked a little mock flirtingly and Gwen just found it amusing; it was weird Gwen thought as she was really annoyed at best at Cody's flirting but the way Lincoln did it with him trying too hard to be cool and he wasn't so obnoxious about it: just made him feel like a dork than just some attempted ladies man.
"Hold on... I can get why he would want to do skydiving but Lincoln's dad thought that swimming with sharks would be a good activity?" Bridgette interrupted her eyes widened and her and the other guests' mouths were hanging wide open.
"Believe me; I was super grateful that my Mum managed to talk him out of that and his more dangerous ideas..." Lincoln muttered shaking his head. "You probably guessed that from me mentioning the 5 younger sisters and having ten sisters meant that I'm the middle child and realising that his only son and middle child was now at college pretty much caused my dad to go through his midlife crisis. Was thanking all that there is when he got out of it." Lincoln explained as they took this in.
"I kind of feel you... I remember my dad's midlife crisis stage..." Zoey muttered and shivered at the thought.
"So... This led to Lincoln finding out..." Courtney brought up and Gwen sighed as she continued the story...
"He called me a pretty girl... He was probably messing about but what if he was serious... Nothing about him is bad at all... Pretty fun and despite his quirks; quite normal... Then again Trent seemed normal and then his quirks about the number 9 and he became too obsessed... Plus next guy I liked was Duncan and..." Gwen thought in her head as she was walking through the apartment building to Lincoln's room.
She knocked on the door and Lincoln greeted her and invited her in and Gwen marvelled at a house of cards. "Thanks Gwen; made all the cards myself..." Lincoln grinned pleased with himself and closed the door but ended up doing it too roughly causing the house of cards to fall. Lincoln groaned and mentally kicked himself and Gwen put her hand on his shoulder to comfort him while helping to pick the cards up.
Gwen decided to take a look and was amazed to see how well drawn they were; "Wow Lincoln... These are incredible... With someone as talented as you as my partner; the art piece we end up doing should be getting a guranteed 'A'. If not then the teacher clearly has no idea what he is doing in his job." Gwen remarked as Lincoln looked flattered as they smiled at eachother.
They started discussing ideas and decided to do a watercolour ghost themed painting and began sketching out ideas to start but was startled as the door was opened up and there was Ronnie Anne. "Ronnie Anne! I am kind of working for my class with a partner!" Lincoln asked as Ronnie Anne came over as the other two got up. "Gwen this is Ronnie Anne who is one of my best friends; Ronnie Anne this is Gwen whose my friend at college and partner for this assignment." Lincoln introduced them as they shook heads.
"Nice to meet you Ronnie Anne." Gwen greeted as Ronnie Anne smirked which made her pause.
"Especially you; Lincoln's younger sisters texted me saying that Lincoln met a goth girl at his fancy art school and I said I would be on the lookout. Glad to finally meet you and has Lincoln asked you out yet? Ronnie Anne responded as Lincoln groaned and glared at Ronnie Anne as Gwen was embarassed. But then Ronnie Anne raised an eyebrow and asked "something about you looks familiar... Have we met before?"
Gwen was on alert and knew the probably reason why Ronnie Anne thought she looked familiar; "I really doubt it as I have lived in Canada before moving here..." Gwen replied hoping to not give much away. Ronnie Anne kept looking at her inquisitively making Gwen uncomfortable and Lincoln was about to say something when Ronnie Anne jumped.
"Wait... You're that 'Boyfriend Kisser' from Total Drama!" Ronnie Anne snapped up and Gwen looked in horror as she figured it out and Ronnie Anne glared at her. "What are you doing here? Last I heard you swore off that show and decided to run away; are you planning to mess about with Lincoln?" Ronnie Anne demanded pointing a figure at Gwen and Lincoln got in front of Ronnie Anne.
"Ronnie Anne! What has gotten into you?" Lincoln demanded as Ronnie Anne went to move around him.
"Ever heard of that Canadian reality TV show Total Drama? Gwen here was on it since that first season and she was pretty much a jerk who got her boyfriend's team to vote him off and went on to kiss a friend's boyfriend before stealing him! Had the nerve to say that they weren't together later!" Ronnie Anne explained as Lincoln took this in as Gwen gulped looking down.
"Handled situations badly and did stuff which I am not proud of while on that show but... I went here to get a new start after everything that had happened and I want to try and be better than I was before and start anew..." Gwen admitted as Lincoln took this in.
"Well... I don't know what you did on this show but... I did some messed up stuff as well including embarassing my sisters to win a trophy and other stuff... Not a saint but I always try and do better and so I can understand you doing the same..." Lincoln told Gwen and she flashed him a smile as Ronnie Anne looked aghast.
"Come on Lincoln; you have to listen to me... You should want nothing to do with her considering what she had done..." Ronnie Anne retorted as Lincoln gave her a look.
"But should I want something to do with a girl that bullied me relentlessly when we were kids and put sloppy joes in my pants." Lincoln countered and this got her silent and she relented.
"I will be watching you and should you try something with Lincoln then you will get it..." Ronnie Anne warned as she then left.
"...Took some time but she did warm up to me and I could get her being protective even if I wasn't really afraid. Nothing she could threaten me with could compare to what Chris put me through." Gwen explained as their guests took this in.
"You befriended your bully? Not saying it's impossible but... Trying to picture Duncan and Harold patching things up..." Trent commented and this got laughs from them.
Gwen then sighed happily as Lincoln did the same with Dawn smiling feeling in their auras about the next part of the story"But what happened later that day was something special. While continuing to work on ideas for our project; Lincoln ended up deciding to look at clips of me online on the show and then Lincoln walked me back to my apartment..."
"I still can't believe that you drunk out of the toilet! The prize wasn't even a million dollars yet..." Lincoln laughed along with Gwen as they got to her apartment.
"You know sometime you could come over and I can show you the full episodes; Chris as a 'parting gift' after my last big farewell video online sent me a DVD box set of the show. Even couldn't help but check out the Pahkitew Island season on DVD as well; could watch it together and you can see for yourself how much of an idiot I was taking part in those death trap challenges." Gwen offered as Lincoln thought it over.
"Cool and also... You think we could go together to... I know this karaoke and dance club that we could try out together... You know a date..." Lincoln stumbled over his words nervously as Gwen took it in and smiled.
"Why not give it a shot..." Gwen agreed and they said goodbye to eachother and Gwen went to her bed and fully took in what Lincoln asked her and what she agreed to do. She then thought of Trent and Duncan and sighed; she looked to her Total Drama DVD box set and thought of something. She took out the Total Drama Action disc and put it in her DVD player after putting the TV on.
She went to the special features and went to the Celebrity Manhunt Special that was added as an extra; skipping chapters and fast forwarding and she got to her confessional in that special to hear the words of her past self:
"You know what they say, third time lucky!"
"...Didn't work out that time but please let this be third time lucky..." Gwen said to herself with hope in her heart.
