A few nights later Peter was swinging through the streets of Manhattan in his suit until he came across a warehouse; he stood on top of a building to look down in order to take a look and saw it was several cars parking outside and there was a truck with different weapons being loaded in. He web slinged to the roof off the building and ripped open a vent to crawl through in order to take a closer look.

He got to the other side and stayed on the wall to listen downwards as there was a meeting off the men including some wearing masked; "Doesn't look like this is no office party..." Peter thought as he listened on and his eyes widened as he realised that this was a demonstration for a weapons deal and it involved the Russian Mafia.

One of them was showing off some guns; the man was large, bald headed and quite aged with the others calling him Aleksei. "All the way from Mother Russia; I will tell you that this is state off the art..." Aleksei said as Peter then shot out a web covering the box of weapons and then shot out another one to hoist the gun from Aleksei's hand as they all looked his way stunned.

"You know gun crime here is already bad enough so let's all do our part in keeping it down! Who's with me?" Peter asked casually as they then began going into action; "No? Okay then..." They went to grab whatever weapons that they could as Peter began using running and kicking them in the guts as well as punching others in the head. He also had to dodge some gun fire and go to disarm them but as most of them were taken care off there were police sirens.

"Do you understand what you have done?" sternly asked a bald headed African-American man with a goatee and Peter wondered what did one of the criminals think he was doing trying to reprimand the hero taking down his buddies.

"Well; I think I was just stopping some bad guys from buying weapons from some other bad guys... Look here they come as I have done most off their job for them..." Peter remarked as charging in were armed police officers telling him to get down on the ground.

One of them came up to the man that Peter was just talking to and the man said "Sorry but this clown ruined everything; I don't think any of their superiors will be turning up now!"

Peter had a funny feeling that he ruined an undercover operation and gulped with the rest off the criminals showing off their badges including the man. "I am sorry here... I wanted to help out Officer... Your name is Jefferson Davis?" Peter said apologeticaly which turned to hesitance as he looked on the name on the badge.

Jefferson sighed as he retorted "Oh believe me; I will never forgive my folks for that decision but now we are going to have to take you..." Peter in a panic jumped up and used his web to propel himself and got through a window smashing it.

Okay; so that didn't turn out as planned. Perhaps a good night sleep will do him some good...

Early in the morning at the Daily Bugle Communications headquarters building; at the main office in his desk was the Bugle's owner J. Jonah Jameson a balding aged man with a moustache and a black suit. His deputy who was also the newspaper's editor-in-chief Robbie Robertson an African-American man in a suit. Robbie was showing him on a tablet device the story on the botched undercover operation at the weapons deal thanks to the 'Spider-Man' as he was being called.

"Not much information on him but the NYPD have put in a statement asking for any leads on him and addressed the guy with a warning to just quit while he was ahead." Robbie was telling him but Jameson shook his head.

"Just some maniac vigilante; we didn't need Hell's Kitchen's Devil and we don't need this Spider-Man! The good men and women off the NYPD are ones we should trust to keep law and order in our fair city as well as the news helping to break the news and we don't need precious time wasted reporting on some wannabe superhero!" Jameson ranted shaking his head. "I tell ya Robbie that it's thanks to that idiot who will soon be out of the Mayor's office that things are getting out of control and who better to help the greatest city in this world make sense again than me!" Jameson continued on as Robbie shook his head.

The Mayor had gotten involved with a scandal involving embezzled funds from the city's budget and so there was a recall election with Jameson as the favourite candidate to win. Then there was a knock on the door as there entered was a big blonde haired man in a blue suit.

"John my boy! Glad you could come over!" Jameson said as he happily embraced his son; Colonel John Jameson who was a big astronaut hero. "I take it you are here with the answer that NASA had given you?" Jameson asked as John signed nodding.

"Yes dad; my superiors are letting the Promethium-X be on display for your little show..." John said as Jameson smirked at this news; John had recently come back from a mission to Jupiter that he had headed with the crew discovering and bringing back a new element that was being dubbed 'Promethium-X'. Jameson was putting together a big PR stunt party with many backers and influential figures in the city attending and he wanted the Promethium-X to be on display to show off the accomplishments off his hero son.

"Don't worry my boy; this is just to make sure that it's a sure win! After the party it is going back to Oscorp for study!" Jameson assured him as Oscorp had secured the contract to study it and research how it could be applied. "Trust me John; this will go off without a hitch!" Jameson told him but John had a bad feeling about this.

Peter groaned as he got up in the morning and went to the bathroom to wash his face off; after getting dress he looked to the phone and saw the news story hit about what had happened last night. He gulped as he saw that this had gotten criticisms of Spider-Man (he was growing rather fond of that name) but some thought he looked cool; plus he was just starting out so there was room to improve.

He went to the living room and said morning to May; "Peter; I just want to ask just in case that you want to have any plans tonight..." May said taking out two tickets in her hand and Peter sighed as he knew what they were.

Ben had gotten two tickets for the big wrestling event for the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation that would be taking place that night; meant to be a surprise but his tragic death put a stop to it. It was a high anticipated show as the NYWF Heavyweight Champion Bonesaw McGraw was set to defend the title in his final match before retirement against the young up and comer known as the Shocker who was becoming a fan favourite.

"Aunt May; thanks but I have no one to go with, I doubt that I will be able to make any friends at school plus it's a reminder..." Peter said but May put a hand on his shoulder.

"Peter; we all miss Ben but he wouldn't want you to just be feeling sorry for yourself. He would want you to try and make friends at your school and he would definitely want his ticket to be used for that goal..." May told him softly and Peter sighed as he couldn't say no to that.

"I will try and see if anyone will want to go with this professional wallflower..." Peter replied and May smiled further.

Backstage in the arena building that hosted the UCWF wrestling shows; there was a man in his early 20s in a yellow spandex suit with a dark brown singlet over it, dark brown gloves ,dark brown boots and in his hands were electrical gauntlets that sent out vibration waves that he had invented himself. In his hands were his mask which was a yellow mask with a dark brown upside down triangle at the top.

He was Herman Schultz known as the ringname the Shocker; he smirked looking to his gauntlets that he used to help make his entrances and celebrations more exciting. At higher volumes they could be used as weapons and an invention he was quite proud off since he was always gifted with creating and building. His parents wanted him to use his intellect to go into science full time but he had always wanted to be a wrestler his whole life. His parents were not thrilled at no-showing internships that they had signed him up for and meetings with MIT admissions board members in order to train.

But it was all worth it as in such short hours he will become the youngest NYWF Heavyweight Champion in history as well as the man who beat Bonesaw McGraw in his retirement match.

He decided to practice his victory poses with his arms when he has his gauntlets turned on. He noticed some giggling and saw that there was four women with messy hair; black bikini tops and black shorts that showed off their figures. The valets for Bonesaw that were known as the Bone-ettes and he smirked coming up to them.

"So you ladies want to become Shock-ettes after tonight? I can take you all to my place after tonight!" Schultz offered putting on the moves and they looked like they were humoring him.

"Pass; not with someone in that outfit!" said one of them.

"I happily dress up like this and yet I still have more self respect than getting with some upstart wannabe playboy!" said another.

"Not from us; she put a ring on this." said the 3rd Bone-ette showing off an engagement ring while putting her other arm around the neck off the 4th one.

"Fine; if you don't want to get with the new Heavyweight Champ; I am sure there are more beauties in the active wrestling roster who would want to join me in a celebration!" Schultz said as they rolled their eyes.

"Don't you know?" asked one of them and Schultz raised an eyebrow; they pointed to a script on his chair. It was a revised edition sent out about two days before and he didn't bother with it; he looked through it to see what the fuss was about.

Fifteen minutes later he was angrily banging on the door off the head promoter Maxwell Shiffman and he answered with his moustache and purple suit. "So is that you just looking at the new script Herman?" Shiffwell asked as Schultz was furious.

"We had it planned for weeks! I become your top Champion and the youngest to hold the title; the new top star and now I am supposed to lose?" Schultz ranted as he refused to accept this; all his training and work couldn't have gone to waste.

Shiffwell sighed and said "look Herman; I thought about it and since McGraw has his husband and kid over to watch his final match I thought why not let them see him as a winner! He relinquishes the title and we already have the belt as a retirement gift anyway so I figured why not!"

"I am supposed to go along with this? Lose my standing to make some brute past his prime look good?" Schultz asked as Shiffman looked like his decision was final.

"You should have looked at your new script earlier and talked to me about it then; besides we have the new belt design ready and a tournament for the new Champion with you set to win it and become the Champion! Herman; you will be the champ so be patient! How much better will you look after a setback only to go right back to where you were before and finally reach the top of the mountain there?" Shiffman asked trying to assure him but Schultz grumbled walking away.

Later it was about midday at Midtown and Peter walked past the cheerleading squad where at the front was Sally Avril the blonde haired captain talking to her best friend Liz Allan who was a Hispanic girl a year above Peter. "Hey Parker; if you don't want to be seen as a weirdo loner then you should stop staring..." laughed Flash with a slap to Peter's shoulder that his Spider-Sense warned him about.

Peter looked to Flash and thought about asking Harry but he didn't seem to notice when he called his name or ignored him. Nothing he saw about Flash so far made him that appealing but why not give him a shot. "Hey Flash... I have these two tickets for tonight and I was wondering if you wanted..." Peter asked hesitatingly and Flash scoffed as well as Sally.

"Do you really think Flash the top man on the football team will want to go to some science thing with you dweeb?" Sally asked with snickering from onlookers including Flash making Peter sigh.

However Liz frowned and told Flash "come on Flash; at least hear him out and ask where it is?"

Flash sighed as he did so; Peter then said "well it's 2 tickets to the UCWF wrestling tonight..."

"Hey everyone; guess what! My new buddy is taking the Flashmeister to the biggest wrestling show off the year tonight!" Flash yelled pulling Peter in by the shoulder unexpectedly. "Give me your address and I will pick you up in my dad's car; you get anything dirty and if these tickets turn out to be fake then I promise you that I will make the rest off your time here a living hell!" Flash whispered into his ear and Peter sighed.

After a tense car ride they arrived at the arena and it was jam packed and exciting with the crowd; the look and the overall energy off it all.

The matches were quite good with Crusher Hogan beating the Flying Dutchman and the attractive women wresters in spandex going at it for the Women's Championship. The warrior inspired Letha won and posed with the belt while blowing kisses and Peter was red in the face. "Give it a few years and I bet I can get her to be a future wife!" Flash whispered to Peter who incredulously wondered if he was serious.

Then time for the main event and the crowd erupted into cheers as Schultz the Shocker made his entrance to some punk rock music while using his cool looking gauntlets to make vibration displays up in the sky and he definitely had Flash cheering for him.

Then came the famous Champion Bonesaw McGraw with his Bone-ettes who strutted seductively to the ring while getting wolf whistled by their admirers; Bonesaw roared out to the cheering crowd for his final match as he made his way to the ring.

The match turned out to be exciting with back and forth; well worth the hype that it had been getting. Bonesaw had made a roar to the crowd as he had his powerslam finishing move onto Schultz and pinned him but kicked out after 2 to the excitement off the crowd but some eagle eyes members off the audience noticed the look on Bonesaw's face was more than just disbelief shock that his oponnent still managed to kick out: it was a face saying that it wasn't supposed to happen and the referee had a similar look as well.

Peter had an odd feeling as Schultz then began savagely attacking Bonesaw and the referee tried to get him off but then ended up calling the bell for the disqualification. The crowd booed and Flash told Peter "this is how this ends? What a rip off; a horrible end to a show that was living up the hype..." Flash said getting up and Peter felt his Spider-Sense go off continuously.

"I think I want to stay behind and look at the merch; I can walk home so why don't you drive home yourself?" Peter suggested and Flash was down for that. Peter then rant to the nearest exit to see if he could find a place to change. Good thing that his stuff was still in his backpack that he brought with him...

Schultz was pummeling onto Bonesaw letting his frustrations get to the better off him; he was then pulled off as security came and he fought past them and got to the outside and grabbed his gauntlets getting a rather terrible and risky idea but he was through playing nice. He put them on and then onto the highest setting and then grabbed the Championship belt that he put on his shoulder.

The guards were surrounding him but then he used a blast to send them back and they moaned in pain as some crashed into the ring with the security evacuating the audience. Shiffman ran down the entrance ramp furious but Schultz yelled to him "I am the Champion now! I leave with my belt or else I will bring this entire building down on top of all of us!" Schultz yelled warningly with them hesitant to go any closer to him.

"Don't worry everyone as I heard that this is all faked and staged!" Peter said swinging down from a web in his Spider-Man suit as Schultz looked his way and Peter felt his Spider-Sense go off. He had to dodge as Schultz sent a vibrant blast his way and even from that distance he felt that it could pack a punch.

He then began throwing webs at it which seemed to be malfunctioning but Schultz went and punched him with a webbed up gauntlet that he was powering up and Peter felt it. Schultz tried punching at him but Peter managed to grab his gauntlets with both hands crushing them and kicked him sending him back.

Schultz got up furiously and tried to use his gauntlets to fire at Peter again but they backfired on him knocking him out.

Peter was outside standing on a lamp post watching as the police were checking on anyone; the Bone-Ettes had towels over them as they were still in their gear and the two engaged ones were checking on eachother. He saw Bonesaw checking on his husband and son as he embraced them; "I thought for a while that a new masked star would be overshadowing me on my final day but I guess it's someone else! Thank you as my family could have gotten hurt!" Bonesaw cheered at Peter and he smiled at the praise as he jumped down and Bonesaw then pulled him in for some pictures.

Peter then found Shiffman coming up to him saying "I think I could get McGraw for a new retirement match after how tonight ended but my new main star is going to the big house so what do you say about signing up?"

"No thanks; I prefer the streets to the ring..." Peter said noticing the NYPD officers throwing Schultz handcuffed up into a police car and Jefferson among them. "Hey Officer Davis..." Peter muttered as Jefferson came up to him.

"Captain Davis and I want to say... Thanks. I have to admit Schultz could have gotten a lot of people hurt if you hadn't stepped in. Consider this a free pass." Jefferson told him with a sigh and Peter gave him a salute as he web slinged away.

When he got home he had to spend some time reassuring May as she had gotten the news and was actually watching it all on TV to see if she could spot Peter in the crowd.

The next morning at school things were a buzz about what had happened and Spider-Man showing up to stop the Shocker who everyone expected to be a hero winning the Heavyweight Championship. Those who were there were saying what they saw and Flash was being dramatic about his retelling. People were definitely more excited about Spider-Man after seeing the phone footage online off his acts of vigilantism in the last few days. The NYWF put out a public statement saying that for his reckless actions; Schultz had been blacklisted with his contract terminated and offered full refunds for the tickets.

"I say this is all one big publicity stunt! Shiffman probably set up this Spider-Man to go out at night and I bet Schultz isn't really arrested or he will be let out with no charges." said one skeptic as Peter snickered about that theorist.

The previous night; the world of professional wrestling was definitely more real than he thought.

I tried to use this idea in a previous Spidey story but making the Shocker is inspired by that mocking line that the Vulture used in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
