Mei, Taylor, Hayley, Boy, and Joel all gazed in wonder at Mechagodzilla after Adrian had returned to the camp telling them of what they had found. Boy looked at it with a twinge of fear while the others looked in awe.

"That's…huge!" Hayley exclaimed.

"If what I've read is right" Adrian said, "this is the biggest mech on record."

"I can't believe it" Mei said, "You actually found it. You accomplished your dream."

"Well, not yet. Finding Mechagodzilla was only the first part. Once I get it up and running, I'll hunt down every last kaiju. Hopefully the Titans will take notice and join in. You guys can stay and help if you'd like."

"We appreciate the offer" Hayley said, but Taylor, Boy and I need to fins our parents. We think they might be in Sydney, so, we've got quite the journey ahead of us."

Adrian nodded. "I understand. Good luck to you three."

"You as well" Taylor said. Then, he, Hayley, and Boy all left the room, though Boy sprinted out, as if he was glad to get away from Mechagodzilla's prescence. Once they left, Adrian turned to the others.

"It's weird" he said, "Now that we're here, I'm not fully sure how to even get him up and running."

"Well," Joel suggested, "If he's anything like the other Jaegers, than there's gotta be a way to access the cockpit. There IS a problem of supplies though; I'm not sure how long we'll be here."

"I checked the maps" Adrian said, patting a console, "This whole place is a base of some kind. Something tells me we'll find everything we need."

Joel nodded. "Uh huh, so who's gonna pilot the thing?"

"Me, obviously." Adrian said, "I've been preparing for this for the past few years."

"And your copilot?" Joel asked.

"Me." Mei said, walking over to Adrian and standing next to him. "Adrian, I may not remember much from my real past, but I do remember promising that we would both face the kaiju together. I'm not going back on that promise now."

Adrian smiled at Mei and nodded, but then looked confused. "What do you mean 'your true past'?"

Mei's expression turned grim. "Shane says he found me on the streets. In reality, I think he stole me from my family and warped my mind through Drift. Now, I don't know who I was when I was little."

Adrian looked surprised, but then gritted his teeth. "That rat bastard. I'll make sure he pays for that."

"Now THAT I'll help with." Mei said.

"So" Joel said, "Let's get this thing up and running."

Two days later…

It didn't take long to figure out Mechagodzilla's systems and get them online. The three also managed to access the cockpit, which was, surprisingly, located in the chest. The pilot stations were centered and placed in front and back positions instead of right next to each other, with the rear control elevated slightly more and had the arms connect to joystick controls, as if in a gunner pod. After some more research, it was discovered that the front pilot controlled the mech's movements, while the other controlled the mass amount of ranged weaponry within the mech's systems. The final piece of the puzzle was the power source, which Adrian was thankfully able to direct to Mechagodzilla after a bit of hacking and messing around on the consoles. Now, it was ready.

As an added bonus, Mei had found a medical room and was able to get the needed medicines to help Adrian's hand significantly.

Joel remained in the control room while Adrian and Mei went into the cockpit, having donned the pilot suits they found in another one of the room.

"Alright you two, get ready." Joel said, "I'm preparing to open the hangar doors."

Mei and Adrian locked into the control pads as Adrian replied. "Locked and ready."

"Activating systems" Mei announced as she hit a few buttons. Slowly, Mechagodzilla began to rise. It's eyes flared red as a thrumming noise came from it. The back spikes moved about as they locked into position.

Adrian announced, "Drifting in three…two…one."

Suddenly, Mei and Adrian drifted. As they did, Adrian could see what Mei had meant earlier; her memories were a complete mess. Once the drift was complete, Adrian looked down at her.

"You weren't kidding about your memories" he said, "I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Mei said, "It wasn't your fault. How's your hand, by the way."

Adrian nodded, then said, "It doesn't hurt as much now. Let's test this thing out."

Mei raised her arms and moved them around. Mechagodzilla did the same before straightening up and letting out a mechanical roar.

"This thing roars?!" Mei asked.

Adrian was in just as much surprise, his finger over one of the buttons on his controls. At least he knew what that one did.

"Well," Adrian said, "Testing looks good, and now it seems like there's a roar button. Alright Joel, open them up!"

There was no reply over the other end.

"Joel?" Mei asked, "You there?"

Then, another voice came over the other end. "Nice mech you two got there."

Mei and Adrian's hearts froze as they turned to face the control room, and saw Spyder at the controls with Shane standing next to him. Two other mercenaries stood nearby, holding Joel captive between them.

"Just leave us alone, Shane!" Mei shouted.

"Sorry, Mei, I can't" Shane replied, "Adrian there knows something too dangerous for me to just let go. Now that you've found this Mechagodzilla, I must prevent you from leaving. You'd ruin all my work."

"Damn you and your work!" Adrian shouted, "You can't stop us now."

"Really?" Shane asked with a smirk, then nodded to Spyder, who hit a few buttons on the controls. Just then, an alarm sounded in the hangar.

"What just happened?" Mei asked. Adrian looked at his screen and blanched. "He's locked the hangar doors. We can't get out."

Anguirus and Warbat continued on their way through the desert. Recently, the two had managed to get another ally from Anguirus's call; walking alongside Anguirus was a tan, lizard-like creature with a spiky spine and a near flattened snout: Varan.

Suddenly, Anguirus picked up a new scent; an alien kaiju. Alerting the others, he turned to see a city in the far distance as well as the kaiju, Copperhead, heading for it.

Growling in anger, Anguirus then let out a battle roar as he and the other two Titans charged down to intercept the kaiju.

Get ready, things are about to get ugly.

Let me know what you think so far!
