The mechs returned to Monarch headquarters more or less in one piece. Mechagodzilla and Jet Jaguar had taken some damage, so maintenance crews ran up to patch up Mechagodzilla while Jet Jaguar, shrinking down to its human size, went with Professor Otaki for personal repairs.
Yun approached the pilots as they exited. "Few close calls, huh?"
Both pilots were still shaken from the fight, but Adrian managed to reply, "That's the understatement of the century."
Mei shrugged. "I'm just glad we made it out alive. If it weren't for that electric shock, we'd have been goners."
Yun looked confused now. "Electric shock."
"Yeah." Adrian replied. "I hit a button and the mech deployed some electric blast that made that...thing...drop us."
Yun asked for him to show him the button in question, so Adrian took him inside the cockpit and showed it to him. Much to his surprise, Yun looked concerned.
"That button triggers a section of the radar system." he explained, "Not an electric pulse. Come to think of it, I don't remember installing such a system."
"Wait" Mei said, "you're saying that wasn't us?"
Yun shook his head. "But if not you...then who?"
In fact, Yun already had an idea of the cause, but it was not one he wanted to consider...
...
Later that day, Adrian was sitting in the library, flipping through a book documenting the Titans. He was so deep in thought, he didn't see Mei Kamino walk up to him.
"Looking for something?" she asked, startling Adrian out of his focus.
"Oh, we'll kinda" he said after calming down, "I can't seem to find anything on that big plant Titan that I fought earlier."
Kamino adjusted the glasses on her face. "I wouldn't bother. More than likely, it was created."
"Created? By who?"
"The Kaiju Sisters. They've been trying to create their own Kaiju to stand a chance against the Titans. All of them failed, obviously, but it's been close. One time, they even tried to create their own Godzilla."
This statement surprised Adrian. "What? How?"
"I don't know" Kamino replied, "It happened back when I was just a grad student in Japan. First a red mist covered the whole city before this creature surfaced. It looked like Godzilla, and many of us thought it was. But after a bit of close research, I discovered it was just an impostor; one we named Ultima. It even evolved too, growing stronger with each form. Jet Jaguar stopped it, but eventually, it came back."
Adrian was becoming more and more interested by the story. "What happened then? Did Jet Jaguar stop it again?"
Kamino's face grew a bit dark as she remembered the event. "No. This time, the real king decided to step in."
The scene flashes back to that time. Mei Kamino tries to push her way through fleeing crowds as Godzilla Ultima appears over the horizon, destroying everything in its path. Mei managed to get to a rooftop using her laptop and some other equipment to analyze the monster. It suddenly stopped in its rampage, looking behind it to see the real Godzilla burst from the ocean, his back spines and eyes glowing blue.
As Kamino watched, the two monsters roared in challenge before suddenly charging and colliding in an intense brawl. Ultima could barely do anything as its arms were much shorter than Godzilla's, who continued hammering blow after blow on the impostor. Ultima began charging up its atomic laser, finally firing it at Godzilla, who was pushed backwards, but only seemed angrier.
Godzilla charged up his own atomic ray, firing it at Ultima and putting the two in a beam lock. Kamino continued to watch in awe as the blue light from the clash cut through the red mist. However, the winner was quickly realized as Godzilla's ray finally pushed back Ultima's striking the impostor inside its throat and wounding it. As Ultima roared in pain, Godzilla rushed forward, grabbing Ultima by the jaws before firing another atomic ray down the monster's throat, killing it from the inside.
Mei stood there, her body unmoving from the shock of what she just watched as Godzilla roared in triumph and Ultima's body slumped the the ground, dead.
...
The scene cuts back to her and Adrian.
Kamino sighed. "What I saw that day...Godzilla is more than just an Alpha Titan. He's an unstoppable force of nature that will destroy every Kaiju in his path until they're gone."
Adrian nodded in understanding. "The kaiju fear Godzilla the most."
"It's his power." Kamino explained, "His atomic ray is lethal to their skin, something about the chemicals that make them up. He also rarely gives up, never giving them time to rest. To them, he's the embodiment of death."
Adrian was rather surprised, but it made sense, given what happened to Biollante after Godzilla joined the fight. "Well, I'm glad he's on our side."
Kamino nodded. "For now. We have our own creations in case Godzilla does fall, but they're not quite ready yet."
"More mechs?" Adrian assumed.
"And other things." Kamino replied, showing him the blueprints she pulled up on her tablet. "I'm guessing you've already seen these?"
In fact, Adrian had. He hadn't given them much attention at first, but as he looked at them now, he discovered it was a Titan that was being fused with machinery. A cyborg.
"We found him near dead" Kamino explained, "He was a powerful fighter that we decided we could not afford to lose. So we brought him here, and modified him, resurrecting him into what you see now."
Adrian was rather impressed by what he was seeing; the black, bird-like Titan now sported blades for hands as well as various other weapons and even a new visor that fired lasers.
"Does it have a name?" He asked.
Kamino nodded before pointing to the name at the bottom of the designs: GIGAN.
...
Around this same time, Godzilla rested next to the hole he had drilled with his atomic laser. The effort had taken a lot out of him, and he knew he was going to need all his strength for what was to come.
Suddenly, a deep bellow woke him from his slumber. Looking to the hole, Godzilla saw a large, wolf-like creature emerge. Godzilla recognized it as Okeneba, a predator from the Hollow Earth, and he also knew that Okeneba's master wasn't far behind. Right on cue, a hairy, humanoid hand emerges from the hole as Okeneba moves to the side to make way for his master as he emerged; a massive gorilla carrying an axe on one hand...
Godzilla had never thought he would see Kong again so soon, and yet, the towering ape had responded to his call. Kong looked around the desert, not minding Godzilla's presence; the two had made peace years ago.
Suddenly, the three heard a roar of engines before seeing multiple, silver objects fly overhead. What was odd was that there didn't look like planes. Rather they looked like...Godzilla? Indeed, it was hard to tell as these mechs were a lot clunkier in form than the Mechagodzilla that Godzilla had encountered earlier, but the overall form was unmistakable. Both curious and angered, Godzilla followed after the cloud trail the mechs had left behind. Kong and Okeneba also followed, sensing a fight on the way, and all unaware of a meteor-like object in space that was watching the whole thing as it began to make its descent for the first time in hundreds of years...
Yup, i decided to add Godzilla Ultima here. Also, the mechs at the end will be a nod to the Showa era, and the Gigan being used here is Millenium/Final wars Gigan.
