Ok, quick disclaimer, I will refer to the Showa Mechagodzillas as the "smaller mechas". Heisei will be the "lead mecha" or "Shane's mecha" since he's driving it, and the Mechagodzilla 2021/Kiryu that we've seen in the story already will be called simply Kiryu. All this is to avoid confusion, and thank you for understanding.
"Brace!"
Everyone ducked down as the first barrage of missiles hit the base. The blast shields thankfully held up, and Hana immediately ordered defense turrets to return fire as well as for many others to evacuate to the Anti-Kaiju bunker some distance outside the base. Out on the walls, the turrets roared to life, firing back on the Mechagodzilla army. One of the smaller Mechas prepared to fire its eye beams towards one of the turrets before Jet Jaguar jumped in front of it, blocking the lasers with his spear before rushing the attackers, sparring with two of the smaller Mechagodzillas. The drill rig, piloted by Taylor and his father, and heavy fighter jet, piloted by his mother, also appeared, their guns firing on the mechas. Boy was immediately brought with the other evacuating scientists as they boarded Monarch hovercraft, which took off as soon as they were loaded up and getting as far away from the fighting as possible.
Adrian and Mei bolted down the hall, finally reaching the elevator. Adrian frantically swiped the card in the reader, sending the lift heading down to level 16. It was fast, but Adrian was still anxious; they needed that Jaeger now. Thankfully, the doors finally opened, giving Adrian and Mei a full view of the Jaeger that stood before them. They were in a hurry, but even they took a few moments to gaze in awe at the reborn legend standing before them. Once those few moments were up, however, the two bolted for the cockpit.
Back outside, Jet Jaguar was partying blow after blow from the mechas. Suddenly, the lead Mechagodzilla blasted Jet Jaguar in the back with its laser cannons, sending the robot sprawling.
Shane scoffed from inside the mecha's cockpit. "Pathetic."
Suddenly, another blast rocked the mech as the jet passed by, but then something else happened. It landed on the ground, allowing the rig to drive into it, but instead of crashing, the two merged, combining and transforming into a different robot with an unusual shaped head and drill hands: Moguera.
Taylor looked at his father in shock at what had just happened, but his father simply chuckled. "Pretty cool upgrade, huh?"
Shane glared at the new mech and prepared to face it, when suddenly new alarms began going off. Moguera and the lead Mechagodzilla looked in its direction at the hangar doors only to see them pried open as a very pissed off Kiryu emerged, letting out a mechanized roar. Relieved at first, Taylor attempted to contact the pilots inside, but nothing responded.
I don't think that's gonna work, kiddo." his dad gasped, "Look closely."
Taylor did so, and realized what was up. Kiryu was moving differently; more bestial. His eyes then widened in horror as he thought back to what Hana had told Adrian and Mei; Kiryu was truly alive now. The theory was proven further when one of the smaller Mechagodzillas attempted to attack, only for Kiryu to retaliate with a devastating blow to its head, crushing it before turning its attention on the lead Mechagodzilla, which readied its weapons as the smaller Mechagodzillas surrounded Kiryu, sensing him as the bigger threat. Suddenly, one of them was yanked back as a barbed grappling hook launched from the open hangar wrapped around its neck, pulling it towards the hangar...and right into a lethal looking blade. As the mech fell, a red visor flared out from the hangar as Gigan walked out, his blade hands up as it let out a screech in challenge. Hana watched the entire scene from the control room in growing horror.
"Kiryu...and Gigan..." she gasped, but she was unable to finish the thought. Kiryu had gained a mind of its own, as she had feared, but it then decided to bring Gigan online before they could finish adding the neural controls to it. Guess that didn't matter anymore as the two creatures now faced the Mechagodzilla army. Gigan struck first with its speed, his blades shredding into the smaller mechs as Kiryu shot towards the lead one, grappling it it. Moguera and Jet Jaguar were unsure of what to do.
Meanwhile, Shane was not expecting to be attacked by an enemy as ferocious as Kiryu, and as he saw the escaping transports, he couldn't risk losing the Boy, realizing Boy was in one of them; of course they would want to get him out of there. Fortunately, the Kaiju sisters had showed him a new feature on the controls which he now used, sending a pulsing call out form the mech. Hana listened in on the call and narrowed her eyes; that was definitely Orca tech, but how did the Sisters get it...and what was the lead mech calling? None were unaware of the approaching swell in the water nearby.
Suddenly, Moguera was wrenched back by a gripping claw as a tail-like appendage appeared from the water, followed by a lizard-like kaiju called Otachi. The kaiju, summoned by Shane's Mechagodzilla, threw Moguera to the ground, only to be tackled by Jet Jaguar, resulting in the two agile combatants engaging in a duel on their own. Moguera struggled to get up as it fended off the smaller mechas, but it was equipped with more than enough weapons to hold them at bay, it's laser eyes taking down two in one shot.
Gigan, however, was having no such issues. He had become a black and silver gladiator, slicing the smaller mechas to ribbons while taking missile after missile, screeching in defiance. Shane's mecha had managed to get back up, only to be met with another charged punch from Kiryu, who showed no signs of letting up his assault. As the battle continued, the only one who seemed to have much luck was Otachi, who managed to get its tail around Jet Jaguar's body, immobilizing him as it went in for a bite to the head.
Suddenly, a lancing blue bolt of energy struck Otachi in the side, releasing its grip on Jet Jaguar and sending it sprawling. Angered, the kaiju got back onto it's feet to size up the newcomer.
"SHANE!" boomed a voice. Both Shane and Kiryu stopped their fight, alerted by the voice and turning to see a massive blue Jaeger that sort of resembled a knight walk out of the broken hangar doors. The reactor on its chest glowed with an orange hue as it got into a fighting position, a deep booming siren coming from it.
Shane gasped. "Impossible..."
From the cockpit of Moguera, Taylor and his parents looked over, the former looking on in complete shock. "Is that...? No, i can't be!"
But it was, the Jaeger standing before them now had come back from the dead: Gypsy Danger.
Adrian and Mei stood in Gypsy's cockpit, their movement synchronized in the same fighting stance.
Mei looked over to Adrian. Thanks to the drift, she could sense he was still reeling from piloting Gypsy. "You good?"
Adrian nodded. "Just never thought I'd live to be in such a legend."
Mei chuckled. "Well, save your enthusiasm for later, we got bigger problems."
Adrian know she was right. "Let's get this son of a bitch!"
He returned his attention to Shane's mecha, shouting through the coms. "Try picking on someone your own size!"
Shane made no reply, but the mech lowered its gun, preparing to fire.
"Adrian..." Mei started.
"Yeah, I see it!" he shouted back, "Let's close the gap!"
Gypsy then lunged forward, its arm raised. As it got closer, it's elbow rocket then began firing up before launching the fist straight at the mecha, catching it full in the face and sending it crumpling back. Both Shane, as well as Gypsy's pilots were surprised by how fast this happened; it seems Gypsy was not only rebuilt, but also improved significantly.
"Hell yeah!" Adrian chuckled before one of the smaller mechas fired its finger rockets, catching the Jaeger in the side.
Mei grunted from the impact. "Grrr...we're not done yet."
Gypsy turned to the side, firing a shot from it's plasma cannon and catching the smaller mech right in between the eyes. As it fell, Shane's mech managed to get back up, grabbing Gypsy's arm in it's jaws. It did little against Gypsy's reinforced armor, and the Jaeger shook it off before beginning to throw punch after punch at its enemy, causing Shane's mecha to stagger backwards from the impacts.
Shane grunted in anger at the controls. "Damn, you two!"
Adrian chuckled. "Looks like we made him angry."
"Good" Mei replied, "Let's keep it that way."
Meanwhile, Kiryu had moved his attention back to the smaller mechas, and he and Gigan fought back to back, both firing their laser weapons with lethal precision. Moguera and Jet Jaguar continued facing off against Otachi, with Moguera's firepower preventing the kaiju from getting too close.
Back in the control room, Hana Serizawa and the other Monarch technicians that remained in the base watched the battle unfold. Hana could see that the battle had intensified almost a bit too much, and prepared to order the remaining people to evacuate as well. Suddenly, another booming roar echoed, but this one sounded more natural. Otachi was the first to respond, diverting his attention away from Moguera and Jet Jaguar, only to have Ridge Jaw plow into its side, its circular lower jaw immediately slicing away at the kaiju's flesh. Pained and angered, Otachi lashed out with it's acid spit, but the majority covered the attacking Titan's armored back, and did little aside from reveal another weakness. Otachi, then lashed out with it's tail, wrapping it around Ridge Jaw and tightening with all it's strength, only for Jet Jaguar to sever the tail with his spear. At this point, the kaiju could see it was outnumbered, and unfurled its wings flying into the air...but Gigan wasn't giving it the luxury of escape.
Raising one of his arm blades, Gigan launched his barbed wire grappling hook, which wrapped around Otachi and threw it back to the ground before racing up and dealing a swift strike with his blade, severing the kaiju's head before it even had a chance to recover. At this point, very few of the smaller mechagodzillas remained(those that were flew off in retreat, some of them getting shot down by Kiryu and Gigan), and Shane's was beaten and damaged from Gypsy's onslaught. Shane stared daggers at Gypsy, knowing Adrian and Mei, the two people he had trusted the most, had not only betrayed him, but now defeated him.
"You think this is over?" he growled, "The Sisters will just keep coming until they get what they want!"
Gypsy stood over him, its arm cannon raised.
"Let them." Adrian shot back, "We'll be ready."
Shane said nothing for a few moments, but then growled. "Till we meet again..."
His mech turned to fly off, but Kiryu, in its hate towards him, pulled the mech back down, pounding it with charged punches before staring it right in the eyes. From the cockpit, Shane stared directly into Mechagodzilla's eyes, and he could feel the hate.
Immediately, he knew what was coming. "Oh, shi-"
He was cut off as Mechagodzilla crushed the opposing mecha's head, dropping the remains to the ground and stomping them with his foot before letting out a mechanized roar; Shane was finally gone for good.
Adrian and Mei watched in shock from the cockpit of Gypsy.
"That was..." Mei gasped.
"Brutal." Adrian finished.
"I was gonna say unexpected, but that works too."
With Shane dead, Mechagodzilla turned to look at Gypsy, it's AI sensing Adrian and Mei inside. Gypsy remained on edge, only for Mechagodzilla to simply nod in acknowledgement before turning and walking off. Surprisingly, Gigan followed him, with the two Titans disappearing into the smoke.
Adrian contacted everyone else over the coms. "Is everyone ok?"
"We're fine" Taylor replied from Moguera.
Jet Jaguar gave a thumbs up, though it was dented in a few areas.
As for Ridge Jaw, it diced up Otachi's carcass a little bit, just to be sure the kaiju was dead. Suddenly, it raised its head as it heard Godzilla's call, letting out a bellow in reply before lumbering in the direction of the call.
Hana replied to Gypsy from the control room. "We're a bit shaken, but this base was designed to withstand such assaults. The evacuation went as planned, so Boy is safe."
"Hold up!" said one of the technicians, "Something's wrong. One of the transports isn't responding!"
Hana looked at the screen the technician was on, her heart freezing in fear. Adrian and Taylor demanded to know what was going on over the coms, but Hana was too afraid to answer. Boy's transport was destroyed, but Boy himself was nowhere to be found...
...
Meanwhile, in the lair of the Sisters, the lead Kaiju Sister stood, overlooking a large, red lake where it was clear something big was moving around inside. One of the sisters approached her. "The mechas have returned. Only a few remain, and Shane is dead."
The lead Sister said nothing for a few moments, before waving it aside. "It matters not. My pets took car of the issue."
As if on cue, a screech could be heard as a hideous, pteranodon-like creature flew in from an opening in the roof of the cave. Judging from the screeching outside, it seemed a whole flock had returned from somewhere. As the creature hovered in front of the lead Sister, it dropped Boy's unconscious form in front of her. A scar ran down Boy's eye, showing there had been a bit of a fight.
The Kaiju sister leaned back in fear of the creature, but the lead Sister simply knelt down in front of Boy's body, not minding the beast at all. "They are not our kaiju, but the Gyaos are loyal to whoever feeds them."
She petted the Gyaos's snout before the beast flew back out through the opening. Once it did, she looked down at Boy again, feeling a swell of triumph.
"What about the Kaiju-Messiah's abductors?" the Sister asked, "They'll come for him
The lead Sister looked back at her. "The Gyaos will deal with them. Have the others get the Kaiju Messiah ready. "
She looked to Boy. "Mecha-King Ghidorah has been asleep long enough."
Surely some of you recognize the Gyaos. If you do, you know damn well what's coming...
