Wuzzup everyone!
I'm back with another chapter of IFMS! This ones more chill but don't think this is pure filler some important stuff does happen.
But you'll just have to read and see for yourself.
Hope you all enjoy!
The first week of Beacon went by either really fast or rather slow depending on who you asked. For some their first week sped right by with little to no problem. There might have been a bump here and there and some of the combat classes as well as Aizawa's class could be tough but they could handle it. They were glad they chose Beacon as their school and we're gonna enjoy spending the next four years here.
For the other half however, they could tell that Beacon was gonna be a long four years for them. It was clear this was far tougher than any of the combat schools most students went to before from tougher classes, tougher teachers, and tougher piers. It was more than next level, it was like the next 2 or 3 levels and they could feel the whiplash hit them hard. All they could do was hope next week would be better than the last.
But no matter which group students were a part of, they were always excited for the end of the school week.
"Woohoo! It's finally the weekend!" Mina cheered as she jumped back onto her bed after going to the bathroom. Her entire team was awake and while it was still a bit on the early side for Mina's taste, it was nowhere near as bad when they had to wake up for classes. Sleeping in is when you know for certain that the weekend is here, and Mina was all for it. "I thought it would never come…"
"Someone's dramatic." Fumikage commented as Mina had a blissful smile on his face. Currently he was simply sitting on his bed going over the local news on his scroll, Shoto was taking his turn in the bathroom getting ready for the day, and Izuku was brushing Eri's hair. "The school week wasn't that long, not counting our first day at Beacon and orientation there were only three real days of classes."
"Hey, we fought off four giant grimm during orientation it absolutely counts," Mina said as she briefly glared at Fumikage before putting on her blissful look again. "I'm just looking forward to a weekend of chilling and relaxing after our first week, I for one think we've earned it IFMS!"
"It would be nice to rest after everything that's happened." Izuku said as he softly ran the hairbrush through his little sister's hair. "It's been only a week, but it feels like so much has already happened, almost feels overwhelming but I guess that's Beacon for you."
"We knew things were going to be tougher than when we were in combat school." Shoto exited the bathroom and spoke up, having overheard the conversation going on. Not really minding the fact that he was currently shirtless and unintentionally gave Mina something to stare at. "We're going to be pushed to our limits to be huntsman and huntresses one day, it's likely going to be an uphill battle going forward."
"Aw come on Shoto don't be such a cute stick in the mud," Mina pouted while continuing to admire the boy's toned chest and arms. Mina knew she was in for a treat when she learned she'd be sharing a room with three cute guys and an absolutely adorable little girl. She practically won the lottery in her eyes. But right now, she could do without the kind of words Shoto was handing out about things only getting harder with time. "Now's not the time to worry about all that, now's the time to enjoy ourselves! So come on tell me what your guy's plans are for today."
"Well…" Izuku looked up a bit in thought as he brought up his plans in his head. "I was thinking of working on my Huntsman notebook for a bit, wanna see if I can complete a few of the pages about our classmates, then I was gonna head to the dust shop and restock for my semblance. Then me and Eri are gonna do something together, anything you had in mind Eri?"
"Hmmmmm…I don't know." Eri hummed a bit as she tried to think of what she wanted to do. "Can we go to the movies?"
"Yeah sure," Izuku smiled at her. "I'll see what's playing."
"I was mainly going to train today." Shoto answered as he put on a shirt, much to Mina's disappointment. "And write a letter to my mom and brother Touya later."
"I don't have much planned." Fumikage wasn't really one for 'going out' really all he had planned for the weekend was some studying and training. He would see what came up but those were practically his default plans. "Maybe I'll join you for training if you don't mind,"
"Whaaaat?!" Mina looked at everyone like they were crazy. While Izuku's plans were decent, they were still nothing she thought they should be. And Shoto and Fumikage, they needed to learn what the weekend was all about. "Aw come on guys! It's our first weekend together as a team! We gotta make it count."
"W-What do you mean b-by that?" Izuku stuttered a bit as Mina stood up on her bed, narrowing her eyes at everyone. Eri blinked in confusion a bit as all the guys looked at her with a raised brow. "What are your plans g-gonna be Mina?"
It was at that question that Mina smirked as she overlooked her whole team. "Oh I got the perfect plan~" Before everyone knew it Mina quickly dragged everyone, including Eri, into the middle of the room. "I'm gonna make sure we spend today as a team!"
"…And what do you mean by that exactly?" Fumikage dared to ask, having a bad feeling about all of this. One thing that his mentor taught him was that women could potentially be more dangerous than any grimm.
"It's like I said, this is our first weekend as a team! We should spend it together!" Mina clapped her hands together as she told everyone her idea. This was too good of an opportunity to pass up and she wasn't gonna risk letting the other's waste it by doing stuff they'd be doing on the weekdays anyway. "There's a whole city down below just waiting for us to explore it! And we can use it as a team bonding experience! Remember what Aizawa said, if we're going to succeed at Beacon we're going to need to do it together and while we are killing it as a team we still don't know that much about each other."
"She does have a point there." Shoto nodded in agreement as he looked to his teammates. "It would make it easier to work together if we all knew each other better, we're still practically strangers to one another."
"Well…it does seem like it could be fun," Izuku said as a small smile came to his face. He's never really done stuff with a friend group before. Sure him and Jaune did plenty of stuff together growing up but it was mainly just the two of them. But doing something with a big group sounded both rather nerve racking to the socially awkward part of him, but also like it could be something excited. "If you're all ok with it than I think it could be a good experience for all of us."
"Can I come?" Eri asked as she rose her hand eagerly. "I wanna be a part of the group."
"Oh of course you can sweetie." Mina smiled brightly as she went and picked Eri up and bounced her up and down in her arms a couple of times. "I wouldn't think about leaving you out Eri. So? What do you guys say?"
"Well…I suppose it couldn't hurt to try," Fumikage relented. While he wasn't exactly a big social person, he did think if the rest of his team was out together he should be a part of it too.
"Sure." Shoto gave a simple answer and nod.
"Y-Yeah!" Izuku stuttered but gave a smile. "Let's do it!"
"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Mina rose one of her first in victory. She pulled off her plan without a single hitch. "Let's all eat breakfast, gather up everything we wanna take out, and meet up at the airships! Watch out city of Vale! Team IFMS is coming in hot!"
TEAM TEKD DORM
"Zzzzzz….Zzzzzz….Zzzzzzz…." Soft snoring was heard in the dorm room belonging to team TEKD, specifically coming from Denki. He was currently spending his weekend getting what he believed to be some much deserved rest. This week had been…pretty rough for him so far. First he got punched by that blond after flirting with her, than he ended up in a situation where he and bunch of other of his piers had to take down a bunch of giant grimm, and then there was his team. Eijiro was pretty cool and Denki really didn't have anything bad to say about him, other than maybe he used the word 'man' a little too much. But he had some things to say about his leader and other teammates.
Iida seemed to be the kinda guy who'd be a natural leader. Punctual, always follow the rules, strict, and pretty much everything you'd associate with a stereotypical general. And Iida was that…just way too much. It's like he never turned that part of himself off and would always act like a leader to his team rather than just a normal casual person. Not to mention his insane morning workouts that he says 'helps them prepare for a long and hard day of learning' which really just seemed to drain everything out of Denki. If Atlas was full of people like Iida than Denki wouldn't have any problem with never going there at all during his life. He doesn't care how cool the tech they have is.
And then there was Katsuki Bakugo who Denki was positive was his own species. There was tons of words Denki could use to explain the ash-blond boy. Jackass, rage filled, abrasive, uncaring, loud, annoying, explosive, and many, many more. Katsuki didn't hide it at all that he wasn't happy to be on a team and he was about as far from a team player as you could possibly could. He just wanted to do things on his own from studying, to training, to eating. It was hard to say he was even a part of the team and just took the whole lone wolf thing to the next level. He wouldn't be surprised if they failed Aizawa's class just because of him.
Overall…Denki's situation could be better.
But at least he could rely on the weekend to bring some joy to him and give him a break from all that. No reason to do a ready for the day workout when their wasn't any school today or tomorrow.
But as much as he would have liked to sleep the entire Saturday away, the sun hitting his eyes did its deed and started to stir him awake. "Hmmmm…aw man…" Denki groaned out as he sat up and rubbed his tired eyes. "Was having such a good dream too…"
"Well hey look whose finally awake." Looking to the side he saw Eijiro grinning at him. The red head was wide awake and had some work out cloths on including a water bottle in his hands and a head band around his forehead. "Thought you were gonna sleep the entire day away."
"Was trying too but the sun had other plans," Denki sighed out before looking over Eijiro's cloths and raising a brow. "And what's with the gym get up? Oh no please tell me Tenya isn't making us do a morning 'warm-up' on a freaking Saturday…"
"Nah no need to worry about that." Kirishima reassured Denki, allowing him to breath a massive sigh of relief. "In fact I haven't seen Iida since this morning actually."
"Really?" Denki rose a brow, curious as to what this could be. "Well where is he?"
"Don't know, he was acting all weird this morning too now that I think about it…" Eijiro slowly said as he remembered this morning. Tenya didn't act like this usual self and as soon as he was dressed he simply needed to do something and left. 'Was it what I told him the other day? Maybe…he hasn't been as…Tenyaish since then.'
"Eh, I'm sure it's no big deal," Denki shrugged and didn't appear to be too worried about the situation. "And what about the angry Pomeranian?"
"Pfft, don't let him hear you say that," Eijiro couldn't help but laugh at the nickname Denki gave Katsuki. He was gonna have to remember. "But no clue either, heck didn't even see him this morning. I guess he woke up before the rest of us. Maybe he's just training or something."
"Yeah that sounds about right," Denki accepted that answer instantly. When it came to training Katsuki liked it and he liked doing it alone without his team, so that all checks out. "Ah well, doesn't matter to me. Point is I got the whole place to myself while you're all out, this must be my lucky day,"
"Just don't trash the place while you're by yourself alright man?" Eijiro chuckled before he headed towards the door and gave his teammate a wave. "Later man,"
"Later," Denki waved to Eijiro. Once the red head was gone he took a quickly look around the room to make sure he was alone and no one was checking up on him. Once he confirmed without a doubt that he was alone a grin came to his face as he reached under his bed and pulled out a very particular magazine. "Think I'll do some reading while they're gone~"
On the outside of Beacon there was plenty going on now that it was Saturday. Students of all years were walking around wearing their casual cloths and doing whatever they felt like. Some were getting some exercise in by jogging around the courtyard, a few were studying on various picnic tables set up outside or under the shade of a tree, others were chatting it up with friend groups and goofing off, and other's were heading to the airships so they could go down to the city of Vale down below and hit up the town and get away from school for a bit.
And that include team IFMS who were preparing to board one of the airships along with a few other students. "Aaaaah, what a perfect day!" Mina let out in delight as she stretched herself backwards to try and catch the suns amazing rays. Mina was currently wearing a black t-shirt that had the word 'PINK' on it in bright hot pink as well as jean shorts that stopped above her knees. "To think some of you wanted to stay indoors training and studying, you were gonna miss out on all this."
"I don't care much for the light," Fumikage commented as he walked up to Mina with his hands in his pockets. He was currently wearing a dark purple shirt with the logo of some death metal band on it along with a necklace of a sword and black jeans. "But I can't argue with you on how the air feels, the temperature is rather refreshing."
"So what are we gonna do first?" Shoto asked as he looked at Mina. The dual-haired teen was currently wearing a plain white t-shirt along with a thin blue unzipped hoodie and light blue jeans. "We never really discussed what are plans are gonna be."
"Y-Yeah I wanted to asked about that too," Izuku asked as he and Eri caught up with the rest of the team with Izuku holding his little sisters hand. Izuku was currently wearing a light green t-shirt that had the symbol for Vale on the front and basic jeans. Meanwhile Eri was wearing a peach colored dress and black pants along with a sun hat on her head with a hole in it that allowed her horn to stick out of it. "Did you have any sort of plans Mina?"
"Well yes and no," Mina told everyone getting a few raised brow. "This is a day for all of us after all, so I'm thinking we could each chose something we wanna do, that way it's nice and fair and we all get to do at least one thing that we like,"
"That seems fair," Shoto nodded in agreement as he named something he wanted to do. "I wouldn't mind seeing if there was an arcade."
"Really?" Izuku asked with a fair hint of surprise. So were the other's, including Eri. "Didn't take you for a gamer Shoto."
"I'm really not," Shoto told everyone with an unchanging expression. "But I played a few fighting games with my older brothers before and thought it could be fun."
"Well sure I'm sure there's an arcade somewhere in town," Mina clapped her hands before looking towards Izuku, Eri, and Fumikage. "What about you three? Anything you guys wanna do? Still wanna hit up the movies Eri."
"I do!" Eri said with an excited look. "I wanna see the Huntsman Rising!"
"A movie about a shadowy hero battling the darkness plaguing our world," Fumikage commented while looking up at the sky. "Revelry in the dark."
"What does that mean?" Eri asked with a cute head tilt.
"We don't really know…" Izuku sweat dropped with an awkward smile. The team leader put a hand to his chin as he hummed a bit in thought thinking of what he would want to do. "Well…I heard about a really good café in town that serves some good Katsudon, I'd like to try that. Although can we also stop by the dust shop while we're out please? I do need to stock up."
"Yeah that should be fine, and we can hit up the café around lunch time!" Mina smiled and clapped her hands. She was eager to check out some of the café's and restaurants around town so she was glad Izuku suggested this. "And let me guess Fumikage, you wanna visit some dark brooding place?"
"No." Fumikage gave a simple response before saying what he actually wanted to do. "I actually would rather go cloths shopping, I don't believed I packed enough."
"Ooooooo! Yes!" Mina's eyes quickly started to sparkle. A cloths shopping trip was always something she would love to do with just about anyone. "We can all try on cloths together! Now as for me, I wanna visit…actually…I think I wanna keep that a surprise~"
"…I feel like we should be frightened." Fumikage did not like the tone and look Mina was using.
"Oh cut it out ya worry wort," Mina blew the faunus a quick raspberry before she sped behind everyone and started pushing them towards the airship. "Now come on! We're burning daylight boys!"
"Hey!"
"…Ok."
"M-Mina! Slow down!"
"Weeeeeee!"
TEAM RWBY'S DORM
Currently all of team RWBY were hanging out in their dorm room despite waking up about an hour ago, each of them doing their own thing. Ruby and Yang were on their beds and were playing a game on their scrolls with Yang's smirk and Ruby's frustrated growls easily showing who was winning. Blake was also on her bed and was reading one of her many books, not really paying mind to much else going on and was content to just be in her current position for pretty much the entire day.
And away from the beds entirely was Weiss who was sitting at the desk in the room with a piece of paper in front of her and a pencil in her hand. The ice queen was currently finishing up a letter she was writing for her older sister.
Dearest Winter
I am pleased to let you know that my week at Beacon has been pleasant for the most part. My classes are going well and I am doing my best to live up to your standards and putting plenty of hard work into my studies and training. Though it's only been one week I can tell I will gain valuable knowledge and experience here at Beacon.
Thought not all has been smooth as I have hoped. The plans I made at the beginning quickly fell apart, but I suppose that's just a part of life, much like the battle not everything can play out in your favor. I did not form the team I originally wanted to make, and I did not end up the leader of the team I did end up on. At first, I'll admit, I was rather devastated and tried to do what I could to try and change that, but one of my piers helped me see things in a different light.
I am part of team RWBY, consisting of our leader Ruby Rose, myself, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long. Blake and Yang are fine teammates, though they have their quirks, and Ruby is…interesting. She's only 15 years old, she was granted permission from Ozpin himself no less to skip two years ahead, and he made her the leader of our team.
As said before I was no happy about this at first, especially given her childish tendencies, but going back to what I said earlier about one of my piers helping me see things differently, it made me realize something. Perhaps the best way I can exceed is lot leading my team, but being the best support I can be to a weak leader and help strengthen the whole group in the long run.
I will keep you informed of my progress and I hope things are going well for you back home.
Sincerely, your beloved sister Weiss.
Once Weiss was done she looked over her letter for any sort of typos and such. Once she was determined that it was perfect, she took out an envelop and a stamp and began preparing it to be sent. "KO!" At the same time Ruby and Yang just finished up another game with Yang looking super smug and Ruby looking quite irritated. "Perfect round."
"And that's how it's done baby~!" Yang sang out in victory as she rose her arms up and started moving her hips back in forth to do a sitting down victory dance. "Undefeated!"
"Ugh! How do you keep doing this?!" Ruby demanded to know as she threw a pillow at her sister that Yang easily dodged while snickering. "You're using cheat codes I know it!"
"Nope, just pure raw skills my dear sister. I'm sure you'll grow into yours one day," Yang teased which only served to fuel Ruby's current anger. She really did rub off on her little sis sometimes didn't she? Yang then shut off her scroll and hoped off her bed before stretching out. "Welp, kicking Ruby's butt has made me hungry. I'm gonna go get a snack, anyone want anything?"
"Nothing for me thanks." Weiss said as she stood up and held up her letter to Yang. "But could you do me a favor and put this letter in the Beacon Post Office please? It's right next to the cafeteria."
"Sure no prob," Yang shrugged and took the letter. Wasn't much a detour so she didn't mind doing that for her teammates. "Hey Ruby? Want me to get ya some cookies? Might soften the blow of me beating you~"
"…Fine…" Ruby grumbled out, crossing her arms and looking away from her sister.
"Hehe, you got it Miss Grumpy Pants." Yang said playfully as she turned around the left, hearing Ruby blow a loud raspberry her way. And so Yang made her way out of the first year dorms and went outside and felt the great warm sunlight against her sin. As she made her way towards the cafeteria she grew curious about the letter in her hand and looked over it. "Wonder who she's sending this too?"
When Yang looked over the address of the letter, she quickly realized it was upside down. But before she could turn it over to properly read it the contents of the letter fell out, Yang quickly catching the piece of paper before it blew away. "Phew, close one," Yang let out as she looked at the letter in her hand. "Guess ice queen forgot to lick it…shut…huh…" Yang couldn't help but read Weiss' letter, but as she did the blond came across one particular line.
Perhaps the best way I can exceed is lot leading my team but being the best support I can be to a weak leader.
"Woohoo!" Back with team IFMS, the four had made it to an arcade like Shoto had recommended despite it not being the biggest arcade in the world, there was still plenty to do in them as Mina was showing. Currently she had a small crowd around her as she absolutely dominated the dancing game like it was no trouble at all. "I'm a dance machine baby!"
"Wow look at her go," Izuku commented as he briefly looked away from the arcade screen in front of him and Shoto to look at Mina, she was surely gonna take the high score in no time at all. Meanwhile the mop haired teen was currently playing a fighting game with Shoto, while Izuku wasn't the biggest gamer either he did have fun playing video games with Jaune back home. "Heh, this feels more like something she recommended instead. O-Oh, uh, n-no offense Shoto."
"None taken." Shoto said as he kept his eyes locked on the screen as he played with Izuku. He had to admit, playing games like this did give him a pleasant feeling of nostalgia. He hardly played games now-a-days but when he was a kid back home and even when he turned into a teenager, he always enjoyed playing games with his two older brothers. They were definitely better than him, especially Toya, but he hasn't gotten the chance to play with them for quite a while with Toya usually out on missions and Natsuo currently in college, and his sister wasn't really a fan of video games, so it was just nice to get to play with Izuku. "You're pretty good at this."
"Thanks, so are you," Izuku gave Shoto a quick smiler before looking back at the screen and focusing on the video game fight with Shoto. Both were pretty even so far and struggled to land solid blows on the other's character. Izuku did like the challenge Shoto brought to him. Sure Izuku liked playing Jaune, but as guilty as Izuku felt admitting this…Jaune wasn't the best player and mostly relied on button mashing. Very predictable button mashing. Izuku still had fun of course, but it never really challenging. "So, Shoto, what's your family like? I-If you d-don't mind me asking?"
"Hm?" Shoto rose a brow and turned his head towards Izuku before focusing on the screen. "Why the interest?"
"N-No real reason, j-just thought we could try and get to know each other b-better is all," Izuku stuttered a bit, worried he may have asked about something a bit to private. "Like we went o-over earlier, we do-don't really know each other that well and it'd be nice to f-fix that ya know?"
"I guess that makes sense," Shoto nodded in understanded as he decided to answer Izuku's question. "My families nothing too special. My mom has always took care of me and my siblings and my father is a huntsman, he's rarely at home so I don't see him much. My oldest brother Toya is also a huntsman and stops by home often to visit and help with my training. My older sister Fuyumi is a elementary school teacher, she's also been good with kids and helps my mom around the house, her cookings really good too. And my brother Natsuo is pretty easy going, and he's currently in college to get a medical degree."
"Wow, must be nice to be apart of a big family like that." Izuku commented with a smile, having made sure to pay full attention to what Shoto was telling him. "It's mostly the same for me, for a majority of my life it was just me and my mom. I…never really got to know my dad. He and my mom got a divorce when I was a kid, I never knew why. Never talked to my mom about it,"
"I'm sorry about that," Shoto apologized to Izuku after hearing that. It was one thing to have a mostly absent father like him, but it was another to have your parents divorce. "It must have been rough."
"Y-Yeah, it was for a while. But we both eventually got over it, we had Jaune's family to help us through it," Izuku smiled fondly at those memories. While the divorce was hard on them both, the Arc family was there to support them all the way and just made the experience easier to go through. "But then about a year ago we adopted Eri, I was in the woods picking some of my mom's favorite berries when I saw her running from a horde of Grimm, I rescued her from them and when we learned she had no wear to go my mom adopted her."
"That's pretty impressive." Shoto commented. "Taking down a horde of grimm by yourself."
"W-Well it was just a few beowolves and an Ursa minor." Izuku stated rather modestly, thinking Shoto found it more impressive than it was. "Although I rescued her just in time. She barley managed to evade them, it's the reason one of her horns is gone."
"So that's why," Shoto blinked a few times as he processed the new information. He had wondered what happened to Eri's other horn but felt it might have been a sensitive subject and withheld asking. "And what happened to her family? Did the grimm kill them?"
"…Well…we don't really know…" Izuku frowned a bit as he remembered when he and Inko asked Eri about it. "She said no, but when we asked about her family, she didn't say anything. Like she was scared of answering. So we didn't pry into it, so we don't really know what happened to her actual family, but I don't think she wants to do anything involving it."
"I see," Shoto immediately guess that maybe Eri was being abused. It wasn't uncommon for abused children to try and run away from home. She was just lucky to have found Izuku when she did. But like with his question about her horn, he wasn't gonna pry. "So do you have any other questions?"
"Hmmmm…well…" Izuku could think of one question, but it didn't have anything to do with Shoto. "Where's Fumikage?"
Meanwhile in another part of the arcade…
"Do you have no shame?" Fumikage sweat dropped as he stood in front of a skee-ball game…with Dark Shadow holding all the balls and hovering right over the end of the machine and simply inserting the balls into the highest scoring hole.
"Hey, there was no signs against semblances use in here," Dark Shadow defended his totally legit skee-ball strategy. "Now do you want that cool looking ring you saw at the prize counter or not?"
"…" Fumikage was silent as he turned around and crossed his arms. "Just know I am not going to be a witness."
"That's what I thought," Dark Shadow chuckled as he continued what he was doing.
And as that was going on, by the claw machine…
"La-la-la-la-la," Eri sang out as she managed to snag another plushie from inside the seemingly impossible game and added it to her ever growing pile. "This is fun!"
"Oh boy…" One of the arcade employee's let out in worry as they watched Eri bleed the plushies from the machine dry.
BEACON ACADEMY
TICK!
TICK!
TICK!
The giant gears turned in the office of professor Ozpin, loud ticking and turning sounds accompanying them as the headmaster of Beacon Academy took a sip of his mug of coffee, some papers on the desk in front of him, and his scroll being help up to his ear as he talked to someone through it. "So Toshinori," Ozpin addressed the person on the other end of the call. "How are the first years looking to you?"
"…"
"Yes I suppose it is rather early to tell, but I just thought it'd be smart to make sure," Ozpin said after taking another sip of coffee. "But is there anyone in particular that has caught your eye."
"…"
"Oh really? Well that's certainly a relief to here," Ozpin's lips curled up into a tiny smile at hearing that. He figured at least one of the first years would grab his attention. "May I ask who it is or should I give you some more time to observe,"
"…"
"Yes of course, I understand," Ozpin nodded his head. "Take as much time as you need, you can contact me when you feel absolutely sure about it. I have to go know, I'm meeting with one of my students soon, I hope you have a good day," After exchanging a goodbye, Ozpin hung up his scroll just in time to hear a knocking on his door. "Yes, you may come in."
The doors to his office opened and stepping into the room was the leader of team TEKD, Tenya Iida. "Thank you for agreeing to meet with me today sir," Tenya said with his usual professional voice. "I know you're a busy man, and I apologize for any inconveniences I may have caused."
"There's no need for that young man, I always make time to talk with any student that needs it," Ozpin told him in a kind voice as he crossed his arms in front of the desk. "So, what may I ask seems to be troubling you? I've seen that look many times before and it's usually regarding when a student is having trouble with something."
"Well you'd be correct in your assumption professor Ozpin." Tenya nodded his head as he looked down a bit as he asked Ozpin something that's been troubling him all week. "I would like to ask you for advice regarding leading my team."
"Oh?" Ozpin rose a brow as he heard Tenya out. "And why do you need my advice with that? From your transcripts it said you are rather skilled in leadership abilities."
"Well…I thought I was but…this past week it's been a trouble trying to direct my team," Tenya slowly explained to Ozpin his problem in better detail. "It seems I just can't get my team to cooperate. They don't usually follow the orders and commands I give out, they bicker and argue with me, and we just can't seem to work together. I don't want to blame my teammates for this, they've proven they are more than capable huntsman in training who earned their way into this school, but I don't think the problem is me, I'm doing everything I was taught back in Atlas. So what seems to be the problem?"
Ozpin was silent as he took in all of Tenya's words. When the glasses wearing teen was done, Ozpin simply put on a small yet amused smile and nodded. "Ah I see, well I think this is a rather simple question to answer." Tenya rose a brow at this. To him it seemed all but simple, but he didn't speak up and allowed the headmaster to answer. "You simply don't know your team yet."
"Huh?" Tenya blinked a few times in confusion. "What do you mean sir?"
"Well, imagine you and your teammates are gears to a clock much like this one," Ozpin gestured to the ceiling and floor of his office where you could see the gears of the clock turning. "And you and your teammates are all part of different clocks, now a clock needs all its gears to turn in order to work properly correct?"
"Yes sir," Tenya nodded, going along with whatever Ozpin was trying to teach him with this metaphor. "Every single piece must be together for the clock to work properly."
"Indeed, and that's why your team isn't quite working properly." Ozpin told Tenya as he looked right into his eyes. "What you're trying to do is take them out of their clocks and put them into yours, where they don't quite fit. And if the gears of a clock don't fit…"
"Then the clock stops working," Tenya finished Ozpin's sentence for him, with the headmaster nodding his head. "So, I am the reason why my team isn't working?"
"It's a little more than that." Ozpin got up from his chair and turned around, looking out the window at the end of his office where he could perfectly see the courtyard of Beacon. "You were taught well in Atlas, but that isn't what your team has been taught. Your teammates have their own style, their own way of doing things. As a leader it is your responsibility to understand that and find a way that works for them and the rest of you. Tell me Tenya, do you truly know your team? Personally I mean,"
"Well…no I don't think I do," Tenya looked down, a bit ashamed of himself for not really getting to know them over the past week. "I was so busy trying to be a leader that I didn't really get to properly introduce myself to them, or let them introduce themselves to me. Back in Atlas we-"
"But you're not in Atlas anymore young man," Ozpin gently cut Tenya off as he turned his head to look at the teenager again. "And they were never part of Atlas, like I said they each have their own way of doing things, their own gears that make them work. So if you want my advice, I would say you should start getting to know your team. Be more to a leader to them, be a friend. That way are your clocks are in sync, telling the same time yet working differently. Do you understand?"
"…Yes, I believe I do," Invigorated, Tenya stood up and smiled at the headmaster and bowed down to him. "Thank you so much sir,"
"It was my pleasure young man," Ozpin gave Tenya a nod as he sat back down at his desk. "My door is always open if you need to ask for more advice," Tenya nodded as he turned around and left the room, leaving Ozpin allowed as he let out a small chuckle. "I must say this generation is certainly looking promising. Perhaps the future won't be as bleak as I feared it would be."
TEAM IFMS
Once they were done with the arcade team IFMS decided to do Fumikage's activity, cloths shopping.
Needless to say both Mina and Eri were pretty excited for this as they hit up the nearest cloths stores. When it came to the guy's they didn't really try out too much of the cloths. For Izuku and Shoto they just grabbed a few things that fit them that looked nice, with Fumikage essentially doing the same thing but grabbing a bigger amount as, like he said, he was bit short on clothing items.
Meanwhile with the girls…
"Oh booooys~!" Mina sang out as she stepped out of the changing room along with Eri. "How do we look?"
"Tada!" Eri let out as she and Mina struck a pose together. Both were wearing identical outfits consisting of a black dress with a neon pink shirt over it, brown stockings and red glittery boots and a fake pearl necklace.
"We're going twinsies!" Mina gushed as she picked up Eri and held up her up so that way their faces were next to each other. "Don't we look fabulous?"
"Y-yeah you too look great," Izuku smiled and couldn't help but agree that the sight really was adorable. "Do you want to buy those cloths Eri?"
"Uh-huh!" Eri eagerly nodding her head before looking to the pile of cloths in her brothers' hands and frowned a bit. "You didn't pick out more boring cloths did you big brother?"
"H-Hey!" Izuku was taken aback by that and stuttered. "Don't say that Eri that's mean."
"Actually no Izuku, she's right," Mina said bluntly causing Izuku to flinch a bit. "Your sense of style is boring, you have a t-shirt that literally just says t-shirt on it."
"C-Come on c-cut me some slack," Izuku's face went a little red in embarrassment as he turned to his fellow males. "You guys d-don't think I have a b-boring style right?"
"…" Shoto and Fumikage were completely silent as they looked at Izuku, than to each other, and then just said nothing as they went back to looking at more cloths.
"Don't just say nothing!" Izuku let out as he slumped down a bit in shame. But he was quickly snapped out of it as Mina grabbed his wrist and started pulling him to the changing booth. "H-Hey! Wh-What are you doing?"
"Giving you a much needed fashion upgrade!" Mina cheered out as she set Eri down. "Eri, go find some fun cloths for your big brother, we're gonna give him a make over!"
"Yay!" Eri cheered as she ran off to do what Mina says.
"WHAT?!" Izuku's face turned to one of horror. He's experienced more make overs than any man ever should from Jaune's older sisters and reached out to Shoto and Fumikage to try and escape Mina. "Guys! Help me! Help! HELP!"
"Should we save him?" Shoto asked Fumikage with his usual tone and expression.
"Don't incur the wrath of a woman bent on dressing someone up," Fumikage spoke wise words of advice. "Their heart will be darker than the biggest of grimm." Shoto simply nodded and just silently wished his team leader good luck.
JAUNE
"Huff…huff…huff…" Jaune's entire body was in agony. He doesn't understood how people could run long distances for so long while looking like it was easy. He had just done a few laps around the courtyard for a morning work out and it was certainly taking its tole on him. "Why…does…running…suck…so…much?"
Normally during the weekend, he would take the time to just do nothing and enjoy himself. Get out of the painful torment that was studying and school and finally have some fun. But he knew he couldn't afford that. It's only been a week but Beacon has been absolute hell for him. The classes were tough, and the combat classes were even tougher.
And it made sense why, he was behind everyone. He faked his way to get into beacon by messing with the transcripts. Of course things might be a bit much than he could handle. But he had to handle it. He had to be a Huntsman, like he and Izuku always dreamed of. But now he could see why the requirements for making it were so strict, because it was so freaking hard.
"Come on Jaune…you can do this…" Jaune told himself as he looked up at the sky, his face drenched in sweat making the breeze that hit him sting a bit. His sore body didn't help either. He has even more respect for Izuku now, as he's always had a good workout schedule that he kept up with and improved upon over the years. Sure, he's worked out too before but nothing super intense, but if he wanted to catch up with everyone he had no choice but to push himself. "You just have too…"
"Hey man, you good there?" A voice spoke up to Jaune. Looking, he saw it was one of Katsuki's teammates, Eijiro Kirishima. "Look like you've been through hell."
"Because I have been…" Jaune groaned out as Eijiro sent him a sympathetic smile and sat down next to him as Jaune took another few deep breaths. "You…working out…too…"
"Yeah but clearly not as much as you have been there bud," Eijiro chuckled out as Jaune let out a groan and lowered his head. Eijiro then reached into his bag and pulled out a water bottle and handed it to Jaune. "Here, gotta remember to stay hydrated during a workout."
"Thanks…" Jaune eagerly took the bottle and quickly started drinking it, chugging more than half of it down in just a few seconds. Once he was done he felt his heart rate finally start to come back down he turned to Eijiro and looked over him and a little and saw that he was definitely a guy who also worked out frequently and decided to ask him for a little advice. "Hey mind if I asked you something…um…"
"Eijiro," The red head properly introduced himself to the blond. "And sure man, shoot."
"Well…I can't help but notice I'm not as…well toned as the other guys I guess you could say…" Jaune looked away as he said that, clear embarrassment in his voice. It was no secret that out of all the guys in the first years, he was easily the least muscular. "But you, you really look like one of that manly men, you know the ones you see on commercials selling work out gear and protein powder. I was wondering if you maybe could…give me some advice for how I could get like that too?"
"Heh, well thanks man I appreciate that," Eijiro grinned and scratched the back of his head before putting a hand on his chin and such. "Now as for you question…hmmm…well I'm not sure really. I mean I just exercise a lot, I practically used to live at the gym heh."
"That's, uh, c-cool…" Jaune gave out a weak chuckle as he put a hand to the back of his neck. "B-But like, anything specific or…"
"Well depends on what you're looking to improve," Eijiro shrugged before an idea clicked into his mind. "Hey if you need help getting a routine together we could-"
"H-Help? Oh, no, n-no, I-I don't need any help, it's all good there," Jaune quickly said, cutting Kirishima off and putting on an awkward smile. "R-Really I'm fine just…looking for quick tips is all, nothing major hehe…"
"Uuumm…alright?" Kirishima gave Jaune and odd look but decided to follow him up on his request. "I would say just get a good routine going. See what needs improvement and make a workout regiment based around that."
"Right, right, of course, can't believe I didn't realize that myself," Jaune tried to play everything cool as he stoop up and started jogging away. "Thanks for that and the water man but I gotta go, get that heart rate going ya know?"
"Yeah, right," Eijiro slowly nodded his head as he continued to give Jaune an odd look. Something…was definitely up but he didn't quite know what. "Later man,"
TEAM IFMS
"Mmmmmmm! This is so yummy!" Eri gushed with her cheeks puffed up with food. After their little cloths shopping trip, the group decided it was time to get something to eat and went out to find a café like Izuku had recommended. Luckily they had managed to find a rather nice family owned one with a roof top dining area allowing them to eat in the fresh air and warm sun while also providing a decent view of the area of the city around them. After ordering an absolutely delicious meal they group ordered dessert with Eri ordering an apple pie, Izuku ordering a brownie alamode, Mina getting a large cinnamon roll, Shoto ordering a simple vanilla ice cream, and Fumikage ordering a dark chocolate slice of cake. "It's almost as good as Mommy's apple pie!"
"I gotta hand it to you Izuku this was a great idea!" Mina said as he ate a piece of her dessert with stars filling her eyes. "So goooooood!"
"The soba was really good," Shoto commented after eating a small spoonful of his ice cream. "And the ice cream is homemade too."
"I wouldn't mind coming here more often," Fumikage actually had a small smile on his face as he ate his cake. He wasn't usually the type to smile, not that he disliked it, it just wasn't something he did to often. But he couldn't help it right now. He was just feeling good and spending the day with his team was rather fun. "Perhaps we can make future plans to return."
"Hey! That's a great idea!" Mina let out as she broke out into a wide grin and gestured to the entire café. "Why not make it a team IFMS tradition! We come here every Saturday, a way to celebrate for getting through another week of Beacon!"
"That's a great idea Mina!" Izuku eagerly nodded in response as he turned to Eri and the rest of his team. "What do you guys say."
"Yeah!" Eri rose up her hand with apple pie crumbs covering her face. "I wanna come here more! Please?"
"That sounds good," Shoto nodded as well.
"Well I believe that's settled," Fumikage nodded and crossed his arms. "Glad we're agreeing on things together as a team,"
"Speaking of which, you guys remember what I said about getting to know each other better?" Everyone nodded in response to Mina's question. "Well why don't we make a little game about it, each of us takes turn telling us a fact about ourselves."
"…" Everyone was silent as they rose a brow at Mina, quickly making assumptions as to where she was going with this.
"…Oh don't give me those looks," Mina deadpanned at all the boys and Eri. "This isn't some truth or dare sort of thing, I'm not gonna pry into anything personal. Just random facts about yourself, it can be about anything. Happy with that?"
"Well if you promise not to drag us into any wicked games…" Fumikage eyed her suspiciously. "I suppose that's fine."
"Ok, ok, then I'll go first." Mina's smile returned as she thought of something to share with her team. "Hmmmm…well I've been break dancing ever since I was 6 years old."
"Wow that long?" Izuku blinked a bit in surprise. "That's really impressive Mina, talk about dedication."
"What can I say I just got a passion for it hehe," Mina giggled as she leaned back in her seat. "I even incorporated it into my fighting style~"
"That would explain why you were so good at the dancing game at the arcade," Shoto brought up and, just like he and Izuku thought, she easily took the high score without breaking a single sweat. "I guess I can say is that I like ice skating,"
"…Wow I did not expect that," Mina and the other's looked at Shoto in shock. That really came out of left field, more so than him suggesting the arcade. "Why's that?"
"My mom likes it," Shoto answered as he took another bite of his ice cream. "She would take me every year when the weather got cold and I got good at it,"
"Well that certainly explains it, you seem to be full of surprises today Shoto." Fumikage commented before he looked to the rest of his team. "Well I must say is that I'm a fan of poetry, I find it admirable that people are able to write their feelings about a subject down in a few short paragraphs."
"Oooooo, ya know they say that poetry is the language of love~" Mina said with a bit of a flirty voice as she leaned closer to Fumikage with a grin on her face. "Are you secretly a romantic Fumikage~"
"No." Fumikage's answer was quick and blunt.
"You're no fun…" Mina grumbled before looking to Eri. "You wanna share something Eri?"
"Uh-huh, uh-huh!" Eri eagerly nodded her head as she rose up her pie. "Apples are my favorite food,"
"Heh, I know all to much about that," Izuku smiled as he lightly ruffled her hair, causing his little sister to let out a few giggles. "Hmmm…well…I guess I can say is that I really look up too All Might." Izuku blushed a little when he admitted it. He was more of fan boy than just something who simply looked up to him.
"All Might?" Mina rose a brow before her eyes widened as it clicked in her head. "Oh yeah he's that guy whose in all those Atlas Army recruitment videos right? The super muscular guy?"
"Y-Yeah that's him," Izuko stuttered and nodded a bit. "Both me and Jaune really looked up to him since we were kids, hehe, p-pretty much watched all his videos and read all the articles about him."
"Big brother and Uncle Jaune say he's the strongest person in Remnant," Eri spoke up with a bite of pie in her mouth. "He can take down the biggest hordes of grimm by himself!"
"I've heard the same," Shoto spoke up as he heard about All Might quite a few times from his father during the rare times he was home. Apparently he and All Might had a bit of a rivalry going on as his father always seemed to be angry whenever talking about All Might. "He and my father apparently attended Beacon together from what he told me."
"Hmmm, I don't know it seems rather farfetched to me," Fumikage spoke up about his doubts for All Might. "I don't deny he's a great huntsman, but people can often overestimate things from a distance and deem it as true."
"Y-Yeah, plenty of people say stuff like that, even saying he's just a fake used to get more recruits but…I b-believe it's all true," Izuku told everyone as he met all their eyes. "He's my reason for wanting to be a huntsman. To help make the world a more peaceful place and save people with a smile on face. Like a hero."
"Aaaaaww," Mina gushed causing Izuku to blush a bit in embarrassment. "That's adorable Izuku!"
"Hmm," Suddenly Shoto put on a small smile and sent a nod to his teams' leader. "That's a good goal Izuku."
"Yes," Fumikage also nodded at Izuku, proud to have someone as ambitious as him to be leading this team. "I think you're doing a good job so far, let's all keep up the work to achieve that."
"C-C-Come on guys," Izuku looked away from everyone as they gave him praise. "I-It's not t-that big of a d-deal."
"Oh alright, we'll spare you for now," Mina sent Izuku a wink before she took her turn again. "Now let's see…"
And so Team IFMS spent the rest of their time in the café getting to know each other a little better.
TEKD DORM ROOM
Back in the dorm room of Team TEKD all but one of its members were now inside of it hanging out. Kirishima was back from his work out and just finished taking a shower, Kaminari was playing a game on his scroll, and Katsuki was simply laying down having a starring contest with the ceiling.
No one was really saying anything to each other and just minded their own business and did their own thing. But soon all their faces turned to the door as they heard it open and watched as Tenya stepped into the room with a serious look on his face. "Team, I have something I'd like to say," Tenya started with everyone keeping their eyes on him, Denki looking a bit worried about what it could be. But to their surprise Tenya then bowed down as much as he could, looking right at the floor as he spoke with nothing but sincerity. "I'm sorry for my behavior since we came together as a team."
That…was not something anyone was expecting. Both Eijiro and Denki put on rather surprised looks and even Katsuki slightly rose a brow at Tenya's sudden apology. "Huh?" Denki let out, unable to let out a proper response.
"I said I was sorry for my actions as leader." Tenya repeated as he straightened up to look at his teammates. "I realized now that I have done a poor job at leading this team, I tried to force all my teachings of Atlas onto you but I see now that was wrong. You were all taught in different ways and I should have made an effort to understand that and lead us accordingly. But worst of all I failed to even try and bond with you. We're going to be a team for the next four years, so we should be more than a team. We should try and be friends. So, if you'll allow yourselves to give me a second chance, I would like to try and be the leader you all deserve so we can all get through Beacon together as a proper unit."
After his apology, Eijiro and Denki looked at each other before looking to Tenya with Eijiro smirking and nodding his head. "I think I can agree to that," The red head then walked up to Tenya and but a hand on his shoulder. "We're gonna be the best team this schools ever seen!"
"So…no more insane morning workouts?" Denki asked with a skeptical look. Tenya nodded his head at the electric dust user causing him to grin. "Alright, I'm in!"
"Katsuki," Tenya spoke up to the ash-blond, getting a low growl from him as Katsuki looked Tenya in the eyes. "I know you aren't too eager to work as a team, but I've seen just how strong you are. And I truly believe that we can raise above all if we all work together, like Eijiro said, let's aim to be the best team Beacon Academy has known."
"…Heh, now you're speaking my language," Tenya's words of being the best seem to click with Katsuki as he sent a smirk to Tenya. "None of you better drag me down though, got it?"
"Heh, more like you end up dragging us around," Eijiro joked, bringing up the rope exercise from Aizawa's close. "Should have seen Denki during that,"
"Hey man come on I thought we agreed to try and forget about that!" Denki yelled as the rest of his team, even Tenya, ended up getting a good laugh about it.
TEAM IFMS
"Huh, thought the theater would be more packed," Izuku whispered as he and his team had taken their seats in the movie theater. After finishing up their time in the café it was time to do what Eri wanted to do that day and head to the movie theaters to see The Huntsman Rising and thankfully they arrived just in time as they last of the previews and such were playing. And finding seats was easy as well as, like Izuku said the theater wasn't too packed. "Wonder why,"
"Ah who cares," Mina grinned as she leaned back in her seat and put her feet on the empty seat in front of her. "Just means more leg room for us,"
"Thanks for taking me everyone!" Eri grinned brightly as she bounced up and down eagerly in her seat. "I've been waiting forever for this to come out."
"She a big fan of this series?" Shoto asked, sitting in between Izuku and Mina.
"Oh yeah," Izuku laughed a bit as he remembered exactly when Eri became a fan. "Shortly after we adopted her me and Jaune binged watched the movies with her and she was hooked," Izuku chose to leave out the part of Eri also finding him and Jaune's stash of comics.
"I must admit I'm a fan too," Fumikage brought up. Some of his best childhood memories involved this series. "Although I've heard some rather…disappointing things about the series recently."
"Yeeeeeah…The HuntsMan vs SuperHunt wasn't the best…" Mina fully admitted as she saw that movie and immediately regretted it after wards. "But I heard this ones actually really good! I just hope he doesn't tell his origin story again; I get that it's cool and all but he retells it…every…single…time!"
"It's just interesting to go to the movies again," Shoto admitted as he adjusted himself in his seat. "My hometown doesn't have a theater so the only time I got to go was when my family went on vacation."
"Oh! Oh! Ssssssh!" Eri excitedly shushed everyone as the theater darkened which meant only one thing. "It's starting!"
Team IFMS all sent her a rather amused look before looking towards the screen and watched the movies beginning scene. "I am dark justice, I am cold vegence, I am…the Huntsman." A dark brooding voice began to say on the movie screen. "And this…is my story."
"Uuuuuugh!" Mina quietly groaned out.
TEAM RWBY DORM
Back in the dorm room of Team RWBY, Weiss was now all alone in the dorm room by herself with Ruby having went out to get something to eat while Blake said she was going to visit the library. And with Yang gone that meant that the white-haired heiress had the whole place to herself for now and used it to get more quiet study time in.
"Hmmm-hmmmm-hmmmm…" Weiss hummed to herself with a small smile on her face as she finished writing another page of notes down before closing her book, making sure to mark her place. "I think that's enough for now, I think I've earned a study break." After gathering up all her notes in a neat and tidy pile and putting them into her binder, the heiress was about to put her books on the shelf before heading out when-
SLAM!
"AH!" Weiss jumped up, getting quite the scare when the door suddenly slammed open from the outside with the sound echoing throughout the hallway outside, and stepping into the room was none other than Yang. "Yang! Don't scare me like that! And don't slam the door either you could have…broken…uuuuh…" But Weiss quickly grew comfortable as Yang gave her a venomous glare. The blond glaring right into Weiss' eyes…but Yang's eyes weren't purple like they usually were.
They were blood red.
"U-Uh…is everything ok?" Weiss took a step back as Yang let out a low growl at her. "Your eyes are looking-"
"Weiss…" Yang let out as her hair seemed to flicker with embers for a few moments before shoving Weiss' letter to her sister right in front of her face and pointing to one particular line. "Care to explain…this!"
"Wait, is this my letter? You said you were gonna mail this!" Weiss yelled before grabbing it and quickly realizing another thing. "Hold on, did you read this!? That's a serious invasion of my privacy you know!"
But Yang wasn't in the mood for answering any of those questions as she pointed to the line once again more harshly. "What…is…this!?" Weiss flinched at Yang's tone as she looked to where the blond was pointing and read what she had wrote earlier…
Perhaps the best way I can exceed is lot leading my team but being the best support I can be to a weak leader.
"O-Oh…" Weiss now see why Yang was so angry. Calling ones sister a weak leader was certainly one way to piss one off and Weiss may of only known Yang for a week but the heiress would say it's a safe bet to say that Yang had the 2nd shortest fuse out of everyone in Beacon. "Well…it's not like I'm wrong or anything."
"WHAT?!" Yang's eyes snapped wide open and before Weiss could react Yang grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and slammed the heiress against the closest wall, keeping a tight grip on her. "The fuck that's supposed to mean Schnee!?"
"H-Hey! Let me go this instant!" Weiss tried to struggle out of her teammates grip, but Yang's raw strength far surpassed her own so it was clear that she wasn't escaping the blonds grip. "What I mean is you have to admit that Ruby was hardly the best choice for a leader,"
"Oh so you're still on that huh?" Yang let out a sigh as she shook her head disapprovingly at Weiss. "Typically bratty princess throwing a bitchy fit because she didn't get what she wanted."
"Beg you're pardon! If you actually thought about it you'd know there's more to it than that!" Yang gave her a look that just dared Weiss to tell her what she meant by that. Weiss wasn't about to let Yang intimidate her, so she explained. "She's far to childish to be an actual leader, look at the facts Yang. She's been goofing around in class all week and she skipped ahead two years, meaning she doesn't have nearly as much experience as me, Blake, or you. And when you think about it you're one of the reasons she's still like that,"
"Oh and what the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Yang brought a fist up, ready to start plumbing Weiss at any point. "I'm just dying to know."
Weiss gulped a bit, now starting to look a little afraid, but the heiress steeled her nerves and explained. "You're constantly coddling her, treating her like she's made of glass," Weiss told the blond as she looked into Yang's red eyes which almost seemed to be glowing now with rage. "And I'm willing to bet it was the same for you two back home, it inhibits her ability to grow and mature! My sister never coddled me you know, she constantly tried to get me to push my limits and grow stronger. If this is how you're going to continue treaty Ruby when she's at Beacon she's going to have no hope of graduating, leading our team, or preforming out in the field. She's get ripped apart if she ever faced a strong Grimm on her own!"
"O-O-O-Oh! That is it!" That was the last straw for Yang as she brought Weiss in nice and close before raising her fist up high. "YOU'RE DEAD SCHNEE!"
"What's going on here?!"
But Weiss and Yang froze for a moment when they heard a familiar voice call out to them. Looking to the entrance of their dorm they saw Ruby standing there and starring at them with a shocked look on her face. "R-Ruby…" Yang quickly lowered her fist as her eyes went back to their normal color. "When did you get here."
"J-Just know but what are you doing?!" Ruby quickly ran towards them and got Yang to let Weiss out of her hold while looking at her sister like she was crazy. "What were you doing?!"
"She was attacking me," Weiss stated as she fixed up her cloths and glared at Yang. "She was about to beat me up if you hadn't came."
"What?" Ruby felt her heart skip a beat at that. Yang was about to beat up one of their teammates? Sure Weiss could be…irritating sometimes but she didn't deserve to get the snot beaten out of her! "Why?"
"She…uh…" But Weiss realized…she couldn't explain why. That would involve telling Ruby about what she had written in that latter. "It was…."
"Yeah Weiss," Yang egged Weiss one, realizing the same thing the heiress did and using it to her advantage. "Why did I try to attack you? Wanna explain that to our leader here?"
As Ruby looked at Yang strangely, Weiss glared at Yang and tightened her fist about. "…It wasn't about anything…" Weiss said through her teeth before trying to compose herself before telling a lie. "Yang was just mad that I used her shampoo by accident…"
Yang narrowed her eyes at Weiss as Ruby let out a groan and gave her sister a tired look. "Yaaaang…seriously…again?!" Weiss's eyes widened at that. That's actually something that happened before? "You gotta stop getting upset at that, Uncle Qrow still has a bruise from the time he used your shampoo."
"Yeah well…just getting the point across." Yang looked directly into Weiss' eyes as she said that before turning around and walking away. "I'm heading to the training center, blow off some steam."
"Good idea Yang, have fun!" Ruby waved to her sister before looking to Weiss with a sheepish smile. "Hehe, s-sorry about Yang there, when it comes to hair she can get a little…much."
"I can tell…" Weiss muttered before crossing her arms.
"So, uh, if you're done studying do you maybe wanna do something?" Ruby suggested to Weiss. Maybe having some fun together will get her mind over what just happened. "I don't have any plans, and it could be a lot of fun!"
"Um…maybe later Ruby…" Weiss awkwardly said, avoiding the sadden look her teams leader was giving her as she picked up her letter and held it close to her chest. "I gotta do something first ok?"
"O-Oh, yeah I get it. No problem." Ruby nodded her head and put a smile back on as Weiss grabbed another envelope and stamp. "Just know that I'm here if you wanna hang out ok?"
"I will Ruby." Weiss spoke in a completely neutral tone as she left the room.
Ruby didn't ask, but she could have sworn it felt like more was going on.
TEAM IFMS
"Um? Mina?" Izuku began as he, Shoto, Fumikage, and Eri all walked forward through the streets of the city…while covering their eyes. "Can we uncover our eyes now? I-I'm getting kinda n-nervous walking around blindfolded?"
"I'm worried about what she has planned." Fumikage commented.
"Oh hush you, you're all gonna love it," Mina told them with a grin as she made sure to push them all in the right direction. After a few more minutes of walking Mina got them all to stop as they finally reached their destination. "Ok! You can look now!"
And so everyone finally took their hands of their eyes and looked to where Mina brought them.
Rooster's Photographs and Headlight Fluid.
"A photography store." Shoto said as they all looked at the sign before turning to Mina. "This is where you wanna go?"
"Why?" Eri asked with a cute tilt to her head.
"Well that's simple sweetie!" Mina told the little girl with an excited grin on her face. "We're gonna get a team photo!"
"Team photo?" All the others said in unison.
"That's right, a memento of the soon to be greatest team Beacon's ever seen!" Mina shouted out in excitement as she pointed at the photo store. "And this photograph is gonna help us remember all the time we've spent together by the end of our time at Beacon. So what do you guy's say?"
Everyone looked to each other and gave a small smile as they nodded their heads.
"Ok everyone into position," After getting into the shop Mina had revealed to already make an appointment, so it was just a matter of getting to the room where they would get their photo taken. They were sitting on a bench in the order of their teams initials with Eri sitting on Izuku's lap. "Everyone ready?"
"Wait, wait!" Dark Shadow appeared from Fumikage and struck a pose next to him. "I want in the photo too!"
"Alright we're ready!" Mina said as she briefly looked to her teammates. "Everyone say IFMS!"
"IFMS!"
SNAP!
And the photo was taken. Izuku looked like a mix of nervous and excited as he smiled and held his hand up with Eri putting both of her fingers to her cheeks to make her smile big. Fumikage smirked with crossed arms with Dark Shadow raising two peace symbols with his hands. Mina had a giant grin on her face with an arm wrapped around Dark Shadow and the other around Shoto who had a small smile on his face.
The year may have only just started, but their bond was already strong.
And boom! All done!
Quite a few things happened here, mostly fun stuff for IFMS but we got some other things going for the other teams!
Most importantly between Weiss and Yang. Now in between this and the last chapter I watched RWBY Icequeendom and I thought it was pretty good, decent little sort of AU story that helped touched upon Weiss' rather rushed development in the OG series. So I wanted to try and implement some of that here in this story to flesh it out more, and I thought some conflict between her and Yang would be a good way of doing it as really...Yang didn't do much in Volume 1 so this gives her a bit more of a role.
Now then make sure you all favorite, follow, leave a review and stay tuned for the next chapter...
