With ice cream cones in hand, The Doctor leads Ace back to their spot in the crowd. This time, the atmosphere differed. Especially with the increased cops and paparazzi about.

"Goodness!", The Doctor's eyes widened, "Only gone for a couple minutes and there's been an uproar."

"Must've been a fight between fans.", Ace guessed.

"Or a stalker being discovered. Hope no one got hurt."

"Alright,", shouted the director to the civilians, "this is an investigation. Unless you know anything about John Chesterton's whereabouts, clear out!"

The people left in disarray and utter confusion. Including the Time duo.

"Poor Chess.", Ace frowned, "You think something's happened?"

"I hope nothing serious.", said The Doctor who chortled, "with these elites, it's probably a fuss over nothing. Lad could've gotten a bite to eat or met with a girlfriend for all we know. Hasn't even been that long."

As much as Ace agreed, she points out, "Well, if I've learned anything from you, it's that a lot can happen in a second."

The Timelord had to agree but became worried.

"A lot can happen…", he thought to himself.

A moment later, they reached the TARDIS. But before actually stepping inside, the contemplative Doctor spoke up, "Ought to check for his whereabouts on the database. While we're still here, would you like to try again with your mother?"

Ace looks back into Perivale's streets and with a series of harsh flashbacks, she spoke with a quiet voice, "Next time. Maybe next time."

The Doctor nodded as they entered the faux police box. There, they are completely taken aback when finding Johnny Chess at the panels. The singer's demeanor was dumbfounded but fascinated at the same time. Jumping, Ace asked,

"What in the world…?! How did you get in here?"

"I have no idea!", admitted Johnny, "all I saw was this guy dressed in white with a silly hat and here I am."

The Doctor's eyes lit up in both shock and familiarity.

"'A silly hat'?", he asked to which Johnny nodded.

"Yeah.", he confirmed, "Looked like a swan I think…Maybe a dove..."

"'A dove'.", The Doctor thought to himself. Noticing the off-putting disposition, both Ave and Johnny asked what was wrong.

"N-Nothing, children.", The Doctor stammered, "It could be a hypothesis of mine. That…you, Mr. Chess, you being here may not have been by accident."

"With all due respect, sir,", started Johnny, "But what on earth are you talking about?"

The Doctor was about to start his guessing until it happened. Something peculiar occurred in the TARDIS. It was not long until the three found that the side door was wide open, bestowing gold, angelic light from the outside.

"What the-", Johnny could not finish his astonishment.

"What's happening, Doctor?", asked Ace.

"Don't be afraid…", the Time Lord tells them, "Don't be too afraid; I've met with him before."

"Come in, Doctor.", the majestic, but authorial voice, "Bring your young friends."

The Doctor obeyed even with Ace holding him back.

"Don't worry,", started The Doctor, "We'll be back in one piece."

A reluctant Ace frees her friend to go on this small journey.

They entered through and came across their mysterious caller. It was another male who looked a bit older than The Doctor. His pure white attire was fit with a dashing tuxedo and a hat that looked like a dove on his head. Upon the stranger's appearance, The Doctor knew he was face-to-face with Gallifrey's idol, the White Guardian.

"Long time no see, old friend.", smiled the being.

"'Old friend'...", The Doctor muttered, "Never thought you'd consider me one."

"After all you've accomplished, I believe I owe you that title.", said the White Guardian, "Especially now."

"How so?", inquired The Doctor.

"It involves people you've known before. Prior to your banishment to 20th Century Earth, the Gallifreyan authority had you assist a starship in the last two of their five-year mission-from 2269-2270, if I'm right. Am I ringing any bells?"

The Doctor was deep in thought until it hit him like a rock to a window.

"The Enterprise?", The Seventh Incarnate's eyes widened, "With Captain James T. Kirk, T'Chn S'Gai Spock and-"

"You do remember.", interrupted the White Guardian.

"Who?", Ace shares confused eyes with Johnny.

"I'll explain later.", the Doctor replied patiently and he turned back to the White Guardian, "But what of them now? What's going on with them?"

"Go to the year 2293.", informed the higher being, "On the trail from Khitomer to Earth, you will find your old crew and you all shall go to the Skyriver Galaxy to retrieve the lost Earthlings of Asase 714."

"Is that all?", asked the curious Timelord.

"No.", The White Guardian said, "You and the Enterprise must also help the Skyriver people defeat The Black Guardian. He wants to start a cataclysmic war between Skyriver and the Milky Way. Especially by trying to revive the spirit of a dark entity known as 'Abeloth'."

"And if I don't or if they won't?", inquired the skeptical Doctor.

"You don't or they won't.", the White Guardian said in a simple but serious tone.

The Doctor was quick to pick up on this. So, he was forced to comply as the two youths caught up with the ghastly realization.

"I understand.", said the Time Lord, "When do we start, sir?"

"Momentarily.", replied the White Guardian, "I've already gathered your much needed friends and got your TARDIS to the right destination."

"All that and you can't…", started Ace when The Doctor quietly reminded her who they were speaking to, "Right.", a cautioned Ace spoke.

"We thank you.", said The Doctor.

"With pleasure.", grinned the being as he gestures for the three to leave, ''Now goodbye and good luck."

They return to the TARDIS main deck where they find five unconscious beings. To The Doctor, only three of them looked familiar.

One was a Caucasian woman with blonde hair that went down to her shoulders. The second was an Asian man with short black hair that was parted to the side. The third stranger was a female Vulcan with dark brown hair. There was the other Caucasian woman who was a brunette that was sported in a bun. Finally, there was a younger African man with short, black hair. While the Asian and the two human females were dressed in the same uniforms, the Vulcan girl and African man wore casual clothing.

At first The Doctor wondered about the suits, but he took a closer look to find their badges. From all of this, he happily said to himself, "Oh dear. Rand…Chapel…Sulu…And…Little Saavik?" He checks their necks for any irregular pulses, "They're alright, thank goodness."

"You know them?", Ace inquired.

"Aye.", answered The Doctor when the strangers awoke, "They were part of the Enterprise-at least back in the 2260's. Though…", The Doctor focused on the African youth, "I don't remember meeting him…"

"What happened?", the blonde, Lt. Janice Rand uttered as she sat up.

"Where are we?", inquired Dr. Chapel as she looked around in utter confusion.

"Hello,", greeted the sheepish Doctor, "glad to see you again."

"Who are you?", Captain Sulu as he quickly gets up, preparing to take out his phaser that was placed on his belt, "What's going on?"

The Doctor was about to explain when Johnny pointed to the screen showing something else recognizable. A disk-shaped starship, but The Doctor would soon see that it wasn't the original NC-1701. In her place was her predecessor, Enterprise-A.
