After staying with Voight a few days, Hailey is doing much better, she sleeps better, eats better and her work performance has picked up.

All round she is doing well.

She has not felt like crying once since she has been staying with Voight.

Until now.

She also did not have any sleeping issues either until now.

Have her problems followed her here too?

The problem is that she is still hung up on Jay.

She dreamt of him, woke up and found the bed next to her empty. Now, back at her apartment in her bed, well her and Jay's bed, the emotions would be overwhelming. But being here in another house, another room and another bed made the emotions not that bad. Hailey just laid awake until sunrise.

The next night Hailey dreams of Jay again, wakes up and then a tear or two rolls down her cheeks.

Hailey kicks off the covers and then sits on the edge of the bed wiping her eyes.

A while later Hailey gathers up her duvet and goes downstairs. She then makes herself comfortable on the couch.

She refuses to go back to the way she was feeling before.

Voight's couch is the only place where she slept peacefully, all the way through and nothing bothered her.

The next night, however, Voight is sure he can hear her crying. She has been restless the previous night, but not enough to keep him lying awake listening to her.

Getting out of bed, Voight pulls a jacket over his tracksuit and pulls on some shoes, he then heads down the hall.

For some reason it bothers him, and he just can't leave it.

A knock on Hailey's door pulls her out of her drowning in sobs.

"Hailey, you alright?" Voight's voice appears on the other side of the door.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Hailey gives a quick sniff to clear her voice.

Voight stays standing outside her door for a few moments, he does not want to leave her alone.

"I'm going to make coffee, you want some?" Not that Voight ever gets up in the middle of the night and goes and makes coffee, but it is just for Hailey.

"Yeah, I'll be right down." Hailey on the other side does not want to be alone and she quickly accepts the offer.

Hailey stays sitting in bed as she wonders how loud she was crying to wake up Voight and to make him worried enough to check up on her.

Coming down, Hailey pulls on a jersey over her tracksuit and finds Voight pouring the coffee in the kitchen.

"Here." Voight hands her a cup as she enters.

"Thanks." She whispers. She knows that Voight knows she has been crying and that her puffy eyes gives her away.

Voight then leans back against the countertop as he drinks his coffee and keeps an eye on Hailey who has not sat down but stays standing.

Hailey is blankly staring at the table, and when she starts blinking the tears start rolling down her face.

She places her cup down so that she can wipe her face with her sleeves.

Voight places his cup down, steps up to Hailey and in silence pulls her into a hug.

That is when Hailey softly starts sobbing.

"He left. He just left me." She gets out between her soft sobs as she holds on to Voight.

Voight has always had respect for Jay, especially towards the end working with him. The loyalty that Jay had, Voight even started thinking of him as a trusted friend.

But after how he left Hailey and the state, he has left her in, he has lost all respect for him and all that he has left for the man is anger. He just hopes he does not run into him somewhere, he may just hurt him or decide to take him for a ride.

"It's alright, I've got you." Voight gives a rub on her back.

When Hailey pulls out of the hug, Voight leads her to the tv room and switches on the tv.

They both sit down as Voight scans through a few channels and eventually settles on some documentary that he probably has no interest in, but it is just so that he can sit with Hailey for a while. She probably does not want to go back to bed right now.

After quite a while, Voight looks over to Hailey and finds that she has fallen asleep.

Sitting up, her feet pulled in, turned to the side with her head resting on the headrest. Just like she did the first two nights she slept on his couch.

Not wanting to wake her up, Voight quietly goes upstairs and returns with her duvet that he then places over her. Carefully so that he does not wake her up. He is not even going to lay her down, he is not risking waking her.

The next morning Voight finds Hailey still asleep on the couch.

"Hailey, wake up." Voight wakes Hailey up by placing his hand on her shoulder.

"We have a case." Voight tells her as she wakes up.

Hailey looks around and then remembers falling asleep on the couch. She remembers last night, she was a mess again. She hates it.

But Voight made it better.

"Thank you, Sarge, for sitting with me." Hailey tells Voight as she gets up and gathers her duvet. She knows that he didn't have to do that, but he did.

"No problem." He answers as he goes into the kitchen.

After finishing up, they leave in Voight's car.

Since she has been staying with Voight, they have been going to work together in his car and leave together again.

Hailey, however, did not think it the best but she did not voice it so Voight. Would it not be strange for the others to find out that she is staying with their boss?

That day while out on the case, Hailey stayed back at the office going through files, and Kevin and Voight ended teaming up.

While sitting in the car waiting for a suspect to appear Kevin breaks the silence.

"Yo Sarge, I see Hailey has been riding with you." Kevin casually states the obvious that no one else dares ask about it.

"She's staying with me for a while." Voight answers not bothered at all whether anyone knows or not.

"Good, I'm glad. Cause she isn't letting anyone else help her." Kevin's tone is relieved, they all have been worried about Hailey, but she has made it clear that she is fine and does not want any help nor sympathy from anyone.

"Hm." Voight responds knowing it all too well.
