A few days pass, and Hailey is doing much better, and she has become accustomed to living with Voight, even though it sometimes feels like she is under house arrest.

Her work performance is better, her interaction with the team is great, she even goes out with them after work and then either Kevin or Torres will drop her off at Voight's house.

Everything was going good.

Until one night she has a nightmare, the nightmare of Jay leaving but this time it did not end there, in this dream Voight left her as well.

Hailey sits up as she wakes from the dream. She is covered in sweat and her heart is racing.

She thinks about the dream, and it hurts, more than what she ever would have thought. It is only at this moment that Hailey realizes how attached she has become to Voight.

He had become a friend to her. He has become a father figure to her, one she never had.

She cannot stand the thought of Voight throwing her out of his life also.

For days this bothers her, when Voight asked what was wrong, she blamed it on Jay and made him the cause of all her problems, but she is not sure that Voight believed her.

The thoughts in Hailey's mind had driven her towards not being able to sleep again and eating was becoming harder, until one night she decides that she is going to jump before she gets pushed.

In the morning she tells Voight that she is much better now and ready to return to her apartment.

Voight's only response was 'ok' but it was clear that he was not convinced but did not argue it.

After returning back to her apartment again, all Hailey's problems come back, and everything starts all over again. No sleeping, no eating, poor work performance, irritation with the other team members.

But no one says anything, and Voight decides that he has made it clear that he is there for her, but she has now also pushed him away just like everyone else.

He wonders what he did wrong.

In all honesty, it hurt when Hailey pushed him away. He had gotten used to having her around.

And so it goes for days that Hailey is completely detached from everyone and kept all interaction limited to work related things only.

Voight knows that Hailey is hurting and needs someone, but clearly, she does not want help from him and so working with her has become like walking on eggshells for the entire team.

One day when Hailey had stepped out of the office, Atwater goes to Voight's office.

"Yo Sarge, about Hailey." The whole team has been worried about her. Now, Kevin knows that she was staying with Voight, he didn't share it with anyone else. And Kevin was just wondering if everything was still ok, because it doesn't seem like it.

"She made her decision that she doesn't want help from me either, there is nothing else that I can do." Voight answers while going through papers and not even looking up. It's a sore point for him.

"I see." With that Kevin did not bring it up with Voight again.

The team still tries to rally around Hailey and then one night Hailey eventually decides to go out with them for a drink.

Around midnight the team is worried sick as Hailey has been throwing back shots like it is kiddies' juice and she is as drunk as can get and has become disorderly.

Numerous times each member of the team have tried to get her to slow down and when Adam finally put his foot down and told her that he and Kim is taking her home, she made it clear that she will drive herself home when she is done.

"That's it, I'm phoning Voight." Adam tells Kevin and then steps outside.

"Voight." Voight answers awake and alert, just like any other time he gets calls in the middle of the night because it is usually something important.

"Yeah boss, it's Hailey."

Not too long, Voight steps through the door of the bar, says nothing to no one, and goes over to Hailey.

Hailey is just about to throw back another shot when Voight takes a firm hold of the glass and sets it down.

The moment Hailey realizes that it is Voight, she knows that she is in so much trouble that she does not protest when Voight takes her by the arm and hauls her out of the bar while keeping her upright in her drunken state.

The team all share a look as Hailey has just been hauled out of the bar like a teenager that climbed out of the window in the middle of the night and has been caught drinking with her friends.

And so, they all call it a night too.
