Rhydian laid there as Maddy slept holding him to her. He could see how all of this became an issue. He saw all his mistakes with Maddy and Jana. Had he not been so blind he could have a put a stop to Jana a while back. He could see every time he openly challenged Maddy in front of Jana what it looked like, and how she had interpreted it. How he had always been the one to help her making her reliant upon him. That was the first thing he needed to work on. She needed more friends and others to rely on. She needed to see he was not the only one who would help her. Looking back, he could also identify every look of disgust at Maddy, every jealous act. No wonder they did not like each other. If he could get through to her all that could be rectified, she just needed to understand Maddy was his alpha, his only alpha and without hurting her any more than necessary,
Step one break off the reliance upon him carefully. He did not want this mess falling back on to Maddy any more than it already had. He had hurt her deeply so many times, and in the end she was correct. Jana was betraying him; she had trusted her gut which said not to trust her and been right. He should have listened. It was so hard having these two worlds collide. He had never mentioned Maddy to Jana and was sure she had been shocked but there was a reason. It simply hurt to much remembering how happy they had been together and how he had been the cause of them separating. It was what he did wrecked things but, every day he thought of her and every night he dreamed of her endlessly it had been the longest, hardest, and lowest he had ever felt. He found comfort in Jana because she had some of Maddy's qualities. He had not ever led her to believe in any way he would be hers however and could not pinpoint when that had come about. He cared for her and wanted to protect her but, as a friend or a little sister. For him there was only Maddy in that place no one else.
Looking down he tucked a wayward hair behind her ear and smiled down. He had her now though she was his and he could feel her love, and nothing would separate them again. As if sensing his inner turmoil, she snuggled closer patting his chest in her sleep. She was not faking or overcompensating she truly and deeply loved him, and he had no clue why. It was mindboggling, there were so many others that fancied her and had not caused her such torment unknowingly. Rubbing his temples, he began to feel a headache coming on. He had made a rather large mess of all this, and now he had to clean it up somehow. Leaning his head back he closed his eyes willing himself to drift to sleep.
Throughout the night he redressed, medicated, and fed her another three times Each time he found it easier to fall back asleep again. He was exhausted mentally and physically and was relieved he could now sleep until the morning. Settling in and holding her to him he buried his nose deep into her hair allowing her scent to fill his sense of smell completely. Quickly he was fast asleep.
~Break~
She woke up the next morning full of energy and life. She could feel the moons power running through her veins, helping her heal her wounds. The pain had dulled to a much more tolerable feeling and her wounds were stiff and itchy from accelerated healing. Relief flooded her instantly, now she could enjoy and remember her time with Rhydian without the haze of medicine and pull of sleep. She was warm so warm and comfortable in Rhydian's arms and found herself taking in every detail of the moment. With her eyes still closed she inhaled his scent taking its comfort deep into her heart. She felt the warmth of his arms encasing her tightly even as he slept expressing his love and desire to protect her even in his sleep. She heard the steady and peaceful beat of his heart as if it were her favorite song.
Enjoying every second of this she laid their motionless and silent reflecting on how hungry she felt, and how unlike herself she smelled. She needed food soon to help fuel the healing and a shower to wash away the remainder of that horrible day. Though she did not want to forget every part of that night of course. Had she known all she had to do was get injured she could have moved this dance along much quicker than it had gone, they had wasted so much time for nothing. She herself had been a jealous wreck and he had been, well he had been Rhydian. Blind. She couldn't fault him for that necessarily though it annoyed her to no end. With the moon buzzing in her so strongly she could not remain still too much longer, but she also knew he would wake up the moment she did.
Feeling both bold and brave she untucked her head and craned her neck up peeking out slowly in case he had woken. Due to the hectic schedule, he had been on and the lack of proper sleep he remained peacefully asleep. He looked so relaxed and at ease to her a face she had missed. Lately it had always been something stressing him out or worrying him seeing him in such a state brought a smile to her face. His blond hair was messy, and a few parts fell into his angelic face bent at weird angles. His jaw was still sharp but unclenched and relaxed and those lips seemed to call to her. Suddenly, she knew exactly how to wake him and carefully moved into position a wicked smile on her face. Lightly she touched her hand to his face and her lips to his at the same time. Instantly he kissed back though she felt he was confused slightly and unsure if he was truly awake or not. She felt the shift as his sleep ridden mind caught up to the situation and the kiss became more demanding. She replied with enthusiasm before pulling away the smile still in place.
"Morning Rhydian." She said a fire alight in her belly and a craving for him deep in her soul. Part of her wanted to attack him again now that he was awake but, she also really wanted that shower. Sliding away to the edge of the bed she stretched her arms testing the wound.
"Morning Mads, I can see you're feeling a bit better that is great!" He said brightly as she looked back at him smirking. The morning rays caught her deep brown eyes and all he saw was beauty before him. Her hair was messy and her body still pale but, the fire in her eyes was luring him in. How he had found her at knew right now at only seventeen she was it for him he didn't know but he did. Maddy was his one true mate, he was surer of that than anything else in this world.
"Yes! Loads better! I am starving but, I want to clean up a bit before we eat. Can you help us with the wrappings? They itch and I want to clean them." She said energetic and excited.
"Yeah, but take it slow Mad's your still hurt you know. It's the moon that's got you all worked up." He said unable to deny her request and pleading eyes as he shifted forward reaching for her. As he undid the beginning, he remembered her comment about undressing her from the nights before and smiled barely holding in a laugh. Seeing this Maddy became curious tilting her head to the side and studying his face.
"What is it?" She demanded confused.
"Something you said the other night about me undressing you came to mind." He said honestly chuckling to himself as he carefully undid them. Maddy's cheeks pinkened as she also recalled her comment and she quickly looked away. Had the medicine not been coursing through her she would never had said it in the situation but, it was out there now.
"It was the medicine." She defended quickly lying through her teeth and unwilling to meet his eyes as he finished with the wrappings.
He liked that she was embarrassed and fumbling about a bit. "All done." He spoke. Immediately she tried to flee but he stopped her quickly pulling her good arm back with only enough force to make her fall back into his lap. With her ear at his lips he said, "Sure it was." In a deep low tone that sent the fire right down her body and her eyes wide with desire she relaxed back into him on instinct. She wanted him and they both knew it. Unable to stop himself at the scent she was emitting he leaned down nudging her head to the side to access her neck. When she submitted to the attention, he began kissing her slowly marking her skin as little moans and pants escaped her mouth. All of this was new to him. He had never felt what he did for her with anyone else and that passion, love, and desire. His pants were tighter now, and he was glad he had chosen sweats to wear to bed. It took everything in him to pull away when he was done, though as he looked at the mark, he had no regrets. "I will make you some food while you clean up." He said in the same deeper voice still reining himself in.
"Okay." She said a smile on her lips as she stood again and her body pink for an entirely different reason than before. She grabbed clothing to take with her. A loose tank top, sports bra, panties, shorts and fluffy socks before making her way to the shower.
It was on hot and steaming up the bathroom as she stepped in beginning to wash away the grime of the last few days. She still felt some sharp pains but pushed through them with determination. She could handle a little pain if it meant smelling a lot better. How Rhydian handled it she didn't know. When finished she remained in the hot spray thinking of the moment, she had shared with Rhydian just before. It was hot and left her mushy inside, but there was more to it. He had marked her and that meant he was being dominate. While she loved every second of it her alpha nature demanded she level the playing field and mark him as well showing her dominance. How to do that was the question. Though she didn't need to she washed her hair a third time while she pondered over the question. Tonight, was the full moon so it needed to be before then. Still mulling it over she rinsed her hair, and a knock came on the door. The devil himself she thought fondly smiling.
"Yeah?" She called over the spray.
"It's ready." He responded nonchalantly.
"Alright, I am coming." She said quickly beginning to turn the water off and move about drying off and dressing. Her scheming would have to wait first came food and the scent of bacon and ham filled her nose. He was definitely a keeper. Quickly she made her way to the kitchen almost running and slid into the dining room much to his amusement, tumbling into the chair. They sat idly chatting as they ate the first three plates. She could not remember a time she felt so contently full, let alone on a full moon. "Thank you, Rhydian. Want me to clean it up?" She asked, as he raised an eyebrow at her in question she continued. "Well, you cooked so I thought I would offer."
"I got it Mads. You should relax and remember your still injured." He said shaking his head. "I also changed your sheets." He added as an afterthought grabbing both their plates.
"I am not helpless Rhydian we can wash the dishes. I won't break." She argued pointing her fork at him and narrowing her eyes.
"Yes, but I am your slave remember until your healed so go do something else." He said plucking her fork away quickly. Gruffly she left mocking him under her breath as she headed to the living room sitting on the couch.
"I heard that." He called after her causing her to laugh as she sat down. She hated to admit it but, she did still feel quite weak still especially after the shower and eating. Grabbing the remote she flipped on the television to a random murder mystery channel and relaxed into the corner. After a while he made his way sitting beside her. She shifted relaxing into him instead of the couch as they watch the show. As it ended and another began Maddy realized her head was right at his neck. The opportunity was presented as if on a silver platter and she was a Wolfblood after all. Feeling bold and full of life she decided on a course of action. As her lips touched his neck he groaned out. "Maddy, what are you doing?" Gripping his fists not too loose control.
"You did it first you should know." She said lowly at his neck returning to the kiss. He instantly understood the situation but, she was still playing with fire and was about to get burned. After a minute or so more and a few moans escaping his tight lips she traced them up his neck to his lips. Moving in time together it quickly got heated into a full blown make out session. His hands were on her rear as he lifted her to his lap. Her arms draped around his neck keeping him close as their tongues traced each other's.
They both felt so connected and together as they moved as one. It was natural and heightened due to the moon but, again the sharp shriek of her phone exploded causing curses to fall from her lips. They both knew who it was, and Rhydian thanked the interruption on one level but, felt like breaking the phone in half on another. Sighing their foreheads rested as on each other's as the ringing ceased and then started again. Growling she left his lap grabbing the phone eyes showing clear contempt for her mother.
"Be nice, I am going to uh, shower, yeah shower." He said leaving the room and giving them privacy. He needed one ice cold shower right now.
