Chapter Two
Ruki stood at the window, staring out at the rain while Daisuke cleaned off the bed and end table. He sheepishly began to apologize as he caught her staring out, sadness on her face. He knew she wasn't listening, she wouldn't cry, but she needed to he thought.
As he watched her movement, she noticed he stopped making noise, adjusting her gaze she saw him staring at her in the reflection, she whipped around.
"What in the hell are you looking at?"
Without hesitation he retorted, "you," which kind of threw her off, but she waited for him to finish.
"You seem to know so much about me and the others; your story is crazy, and yet, for some reason I can't help but believe you. And I don't know why, maybe it's the eyes?" He said, trying to put her at ease.
"Because it's the truth maybe," she said dryly.
"Yea well would you believe you?" He said sarcastically, but without waiting for an answer, "just try to get a little sleep, I'll be on the couch if you need me." He smiled and moved towards the open door, one hand on the doorknob, he heard he softly speak.
"Stay," she said looking down, eyes closed.
"What," Daisuke turned back, confused, "I'm just going to be in the next room, it doesn't smell funny does-"
"No I just… I mean… just for a little while... to talk. I can't sleep yet. I don't know what's going on." She started getting louder and angrier at her own words, hating sounding like a weakling. "I don't know what's real, whether I died, I'm in a coma or whether I'll wake up here again or somewhere else...I've never been this damn helpl-"
He moved back across the room and stood in front of her as she got more upset, "I'll stay," he finally interrupted, "it's ok, I'll leave the door open."
"...I just don't, I've always handled what the world threw at me, this is..." She sat down on the bed, crossing her legs as she trailed off.
"..." Daisuke grabbed an extra pillow from his closet and laid on the floor next to the bed.
She watched him walk closer and sit next to her on the floor, she thought for a moment, "now just because I asked you to stay, let me get this straight , if you so much as think about touching me I'll-"
"Chill girl! What makes you think I'm even interested in a purple eyed weirdo like yo-" Daisuke didn't finish before her pillow hit with such force he thought he'd tear up.
"OW Damn! It's a joke, friendly fire! Friendly fire!" She smiled, even if it was barely and unnoticed by Daisuke, it was there... The silence slowly took over as both succumbed to their exhaustion.
...
Daisuke rolled, 'ugh, my back hurts,' he opened one eye, yawned, and stretched. Groaning he picked himself up off the floor, as he continued stretching he looked over to see Ruki, he immediately hit the floor again. He forgot she was there, he was instantly wide awake.
"What was that?" Ruki asked, he jumped blood split between his face and the natural morning action.
'Shit! I thought her eyes were closed!'
"What, oh, um,n-n-nothing, I just, um. Well, you know, I wanted to stretch and I pulled a muscle, heh." He laughed red as a tomato.
"Mhmm, whatever liar... It doesn't matter to me anyway, I'm going to get a shower." She stood up, walked past him, she couldn't go fast enough, he almost flew to the side of his room when she walked out of it.
He quickly made his way to the closet, inside he closed the door and changed. The space was cramped, but he really didn't want to change in his room, 'she can see right through me.' Once he was done, he opened the door and tossed the clothes he'd worn all night in a hamper. They spilled out of the overflowing basket twice before he got mad and shoved them down harder.
Daisuke walked over to a phone on the wall, contemplating weather or not to call the others yet or let them call him. Finally he decided he was hungry, he couldn't talk on an empty stomach, it grumbled in agreement and he left the room to the kitchen. Jun was already awake, he smelled food, 'mmm that smells gre-' his thoughts stopped abruptly, the blood rushed from his face, 'Jun doesn't cook...' He swallowed as he hit the last step and rounded the corner.
"Good afternoon Dai," His mom peeked around the corner. 'Shit.'
"Oh hey mom, um, what are you cooking? It smells good."
"Mhmm, I already saw, we'll talk about it later, it better be damn important." He gulped.
"Yes ma'am. I'll just go check on her." He turned and left for his room, he rushed back, the door was shut. He slung the door open, "we've go-". Purple met brown. Daisuke's face was a tomato again as he slammed the door shut. 'Seriously? It's today. Today's the day I'm going to die.' Daisuke was leaning on the door reeling from his situation, trying desperately to disperse the blush on his face... He left his thoughts to drift as he heard Ruki moving around, he tried, but too quickly for him she opened the door and down he went. SMACK! Once on the floor he stared up at her, wearing one of his t-shirts and an old pair of Jun's pants she left for her, her hair still wet. She put her foot on his chest and leaned on it. He gasped.
"Haven't you ever heard of knocking?" Her words scathing, he could feel her aura crushing his, or was that just her foot?
"I'm...ack!...I'm sorry!" He gasped out between breaths.
"If you ever walk in without knocking I will not hesitate to snap you like a twig."
"Never... Happen... Again..." He said, turning blue.
"Better not." She sneered as she removed her foot from his chest.
He gasped for air, standing up, he began to regain his composure, "I'm sorry, it's just my mom kind of came home early, so... well... I don't know, but... Just don't say anything okay?"
"Uh huh, I thought you said she wouldn't be home." Ruki rolled her eyes.
"Yea well it's not what I expected either ok, shit happens." Daisuke picked himself, grabbing his keys, wallet, and phone, trying not to let his eyes wander as he walked behind her into the kitchen. His mom and sister looked up to see Ruki first, then a still slightly tomato-ish faced Daisuke behind her, avoiding all eye contact.
"Hi, I'm Naomi Motomiya, Daisuke's mother," she smiled slightly.
"Ruki, ma'am, Ruki Nonaka."
"Well it's nice to meet you the day after my son brought you home for the night, sit down and have some breakfast." She suddenly turned bright red herself, she was taken aback by her abruptness.
Daisuke jumped in, cutting the tension with the wrong end of a knife, "we're good, thanks mom, we've got to meet someone about helping her out." He said, quickly grabbing and pulling Ruki to the door.
"And who said you could lea-"
"Thanks for understanding, love ya mom, bye." He blurted as he interrupted, snatching the door open and pulling them both out. He tossed it shut and quickly ran, but not before he heard "this isn't finished Daisuke!" from his mother. They finally got to his car, jumping in. "Let's get the hell out of here before she catches up." Daisuke laughed, he enjoyed it a little too much, but Ruki didn't talk, she was still fuming. Daisuke turned and saw her face, remembering was sobering for him, 'she's scary when she's mad.' He decided to just stay quiet, she looked mad, facing back forward he started the car, pulled out and headed towards the Koushiro's. He pulled out his phone and texted him that they were on their way.
...
After a long drive of silence Daisuke got tired of it and flicked the radio on. As the radio roared to life, he relaxed back, his foot became heavier as his mind drifted. After awhile they pulled into Koushiro's office garage, as he searched for a space he saw Taichi's, Yamato's, and Takeru's cars, he had to park at the very end of the normally spacious row. He figured Hikari, and Sora were there, too. Miyako, Joe, and Iori would all have things to do during the day, even on a weekend.
"We're here." Daisuke said.
"Really? I never would've know without you." Ruki said sarcastically, Daisuke shook his head, rolled his eyes, and shut his door.
The elevator door open and they walked up to his office door and knocked, Hikari answered.
"Hey Dai- Ruki?"
"Yeah, we have a problem, does Koushiro about what happened?"
"Well, that's why we're here, we met Taichi here a few minutes ago, come on. They were still talking in his office." They followed Hikari past the front counter into Koushiro's office.
"Alright," Daisuke said as he and Ruki followed. They spotted Sora and Yamato on the bed when they walked in. Hikari sat next to Takeru on a small couch, Koushiro was at his desk, busy typing on his computer. Taichi was sitting backwards in a chair, they all looked up to see the two.
Koushiro leaned around his monitor. "Is this Ruki?" He asked.
"Yea..." He hesitated to say anymore.
"Daisuke said there was a problem." Hikari said for him, Koushiro turned to Daisuke.
"What happened now?"
"Well, I don't know if they told you, but last night, I was supposed to take Ruki back home. Well, when we got to where the gps took us... her house was a building..."
"Wait, huh? What do you mean?" Taichi asked.
"What he means is there was a twenty story office building where my house was supposed to be." Ruki said angrily. The anger wasn't aimed at Taichi, but he felt it. "... I'm Sorry," she muttered.
"That's what I was afraid of." Koushiro scratched his face, ducking behind the screen again, clicking commenced, then he took a breath in. "So if what I came up with is correct, with what little data we have, I think Ruki isn't from here."
"We know she lives in-" Daisuke started.
"No, what I meant was, I think she's not from this dimension." Everyone looked surprised.
"What?" Takeru asked
"Daisuke said she just appeared in front of you, we're anime characters to her, her house is an office building. This just supports it supports it. And remember that gate scanner Gennai gave us? The one to scan if a portal to the Digital world opens?"
"Yea, what about it?"
"It's fried, and I mean extra crispy. We got the call this morning that our field office housing it burned down last night right after Ruki showed up. The last digital log showed a massive power spike but not a gate signature. It's unrecognized, and it was right where you found Ruki, I'm surprised I didn't see it until they called."
"Wait wait wait, so you're saying that I came from another universe? How? I was in bed, I watched you guys on TV, and like all of the places today I saw were not really different."
"Well, theory says some things will be very similar some things will be complete opposite. But there are infinite possibilities, usually not that much will change from dimension to dimension. But that could even means there's a dimension where we're nothing but an idea in someone's head…" Koushiro let the sentence hang. It was an awkward thought for everyone.
"Well, how do I get back?" Ruki asked.
"..." Koushiro didn't have his normal quick answer.
"There is a way, isn't there?" Ruki asked trying to not sound worried.
"I... I don't know, I'm trying to figure that out... There's a lot of data."
"Great, so you're telling me I'm stuck here, with no money, no clothes, nothing until you figure something out?"
Koushiro stopped typing to leak out to look at her, "... unfortunately I'm afraid so for now... I'm sorry"
"I don't have a place to stay either." Ruki said, annoyed knowing that she couldn't go home.
"Wait, you've changed since last night, did you stay last night with Daisuke?" Takeru asked 'Can't you just shut up for once angel boy, damnit.' He had hoped that question wouldn't come up. But while he was thinking how to say it, Ruki unapologetically stated, "they're Daisuke's and Jun's clothes and I did stay with Daisuke, it was the only place, he offered." Everyone looked to Daisuke, he suddenly felt a terrible itch on the back of his head and found the symbol hanging on Koushiro's wall incredibly intriguing.
Sora smiled wide, "so you slept with he-"
"WHOA, NO, NO, NO! Nobody said that," He was red as a beet again thinking about earlier, "S-s-she took the bed, I slept on the floor and s-she just borrowed some clothes it's not that serious." Daisuke stammered in his defense, Sora and Yamato shared a look, before focusing back on them.
"You never give up your bed man, not to anyone, not even Ken." Takeru joked.
"Not to a guy, I wasn't going to make her sleep on the floor, it's not like this is an everyday thing." Daisuke told them.
"Enough, it doesn't matter, can she still stay? While this is figured out?" Yamato asked.
"Well," he cleared his throat, "my mom didn't know, I wasn't going to tell her, but when she came home early, she was kind of pissed I had a strange girl sleeping in my bed... So, uh, I don't really know right now. Probably, I mean worst case my mom kill's me and there's a spare room anyways" He half joked.
"Only you Daisuke...," he sighed, "alright, what about clothes, Hikari?" Yamato asked.
Ruki's eyes narrowed, "uh I don't wear pink, no offense, but just because I'm not in my own dimension and don't have any money doesn't mean I'm desperate," she wasn't about to give in, she'd rather keep wearing baggy Daisuke clothes, she was thinking.
"Hey, pink isn't all I wear," Hikari retaliated, her face contorting, but everyone in the room looked over at her, "ugh, fine, it's pretty, whatever I wear other colors." She pouted mumbling in Takeru's ear. Daisuke giggled in his head, Hikari never got like that with anyone else before.
"Well, then what are we going to do about clothes, Miyako won't be back for a few weeks, Sora?" Taichi asked.
Daisuke sighed, "look I've got a friend that owes me a favor, I'll call him and take her to get some clothes, it shouldn't cost too much," he looked to Ruki when she gave him a weird look.
"Alright, I'm going to get to work on finding her a way home, or getting some kind of answer, Gennai has been called, there's not much else to do but wait right now. So, get out of here and let me work, oh, also, I'll call Ken ask for him to help too. So hopefully we'll have you home soon." Koushiro said.
"Thank you, none of you had to do anything, or even believe. Wait, I didn't even think to ask, what's today, is it different?" Ruki said realizing she didn't even know.
"Today is Sunday April 4th, what day was it when you were last there?" Koushiro asked.
...
"Tuesday April 3rd."
"Weird, so the number date was the same but day of the week is different... ," he noticed it wasn't comforting her, "but I'll figure it out. Don't worry we will get you home."
"Thanks... hopefully," Ruki said unenthusiastically. Daisuke followed the others as they walked out, Ruki in the front. They all rode the elevator in silence.
Yamato walked out with his hand in Sora's, with a button push his car started, the exhaust was deeper than Daisuke's Ruki thought.
Hikari and Takeru followed, with his truck simply chirping as it was unlocked, they waved to everyone, then Takeru looked at Yamato, "late lunch?"
"Sure we'll follow you," Yamato let Sora in the passenger side before climbing in the running car. As they pulled away, Ruki sat in Daisuke's car, Taichi and Daisuke leaned on the concrete barrier behind the cars.
"I haven't really talked to just you since they told me they were officially dating. Are you doing ok?" He asked.
Daisuke appreciated his senpai's sentiment, "I'm doing surprisingly better than I thought really..."
Taichi smiled and sat up, unlocking his car with the key, "yea, she is pretty cute."
"Hey!" Taichi laughed as he sat in his car and closed the door.
"Ugh," Daisuke mutter.
Ruki opened her door, "let's go!"
"Alright alright," he sat down and started his car, reversed out of the space and started to make their way out of the garage.
"So, do you want to go get stuff now or tomorrow?" He asked Ruki.
"Uh, now, I really hate borrowing other people's clothes." She said looking down at the clothes she was wearing.
"Yeah, I do too. Ok, get all the stuff you need. I have faith in Koushiro, but just in case, you know what I mean?"
"I know." She sighed, "are you really sure your mom will let me stay again?" She asked
"Well, if I explain what's going on...possibly do some begging, and actually sleep on the couch maybe."
"You begging, hehe, I have got to see Daisuke Motomiya beg for me-" Her smile was quickly struck when she realized she had said it, she was beet red as she turned to look out of the window.
"Yea yea yea," He acted like he didn't notice it, like he didn't see her turn red as the street sign.
..
..
After a couple of hours of shopping at a friend's parent's store Daisuke's car pulled into the parking lot and parked, when his cell phone dinged. He pulled it out and read the message from the unrecognized number.
'Time is running out.'
'What do you mean? Who is this?' Daisuke replied.
'Hurry before it's too late, the Digital World.'
'Who is this?' He replied again, Ruki finally became interested as she looked over to Daisuke, as he was getting out of the car slowly while texting.
'Hurry, the Digital World is in trouble.' He replied again but the number stopped working, it kept coming back unreachable.
"What was that all about?" Ruki asked her brow inquisitive, his face was serious.
Daisuke was still looking at the phone as he grumbled, "I don't know... Damn... Get back in the car." He sighed, opened the door back and sat down.
"What's going on," she asked, sitting back down, "and where are we going?" Ruki was annoyed after all the walking and driving that he didn't answer.
"I don't know, but we're going to the closest gate to the Digital World, which is the school now I guess. Put your seatbelt on." Daisuke explained reversing quickly, and speeding out of the parking lot back onto the highway.
"Why?" Ruki asked, confusion covering her face.
"There's a problem," he tossed her his phone, "look at the messages," the tires cried as he pushed his car around corners and sped toward school.
They reached the school in record time, quickly got out and cunningly moved across the closed school grounds. He lead Ruki to a set of windows, "these haven't been locked in years," he said as he reached up, pulled one open and climbed in. Ruki followed enjoying watching him squeeze in before losing grip and hitting the floor, jumping up quickly and looking back turning red.
They found the computer room quickly; one computer was already on, it already had the Digital Gate on it. Daisuke and Ruki looked at each other, even more nervous, he pulled out his D3 before looking to Ruki.
"Ruki, you should stay here, take my phone and call the othe-"
"Not a damn chance," she shoved his hand up and smiled, "let's go, I'm always ready." Just like that it was too late to go back, the bright white light engulfed them both. Daisuke was pulled into it, followed by Ruki. As usual, it was a rough landing. The two got up quickly, but before they even had a chance to think Daisuke felt a sharp pain, his vision blurred. As he slumped against the tree he began to lose consciousness he heard a voice, "thank you for delivering the executioner." That was all he heard before he finally succumbed to the pain.
"Daisuke..." a little familiar voice asked. "Daisuke, Daisuke, Daisuke!" The voice bounced, his eyes opened, then quickly closed back thanks to the bright sun overhead.
"Are you alright Daisuke, I could feel you were here and when I found you like this I was worried." The furry blue thing asked from atop his chest.
"Yea," ugh, was he though he thought, "what happened?" Then all the sudden his memory rushed back to him. "RUKI!" He sat straight up quickly Demi-V-mon flew. Worriedly, Daisuke looked around, no one, 'Shit how long was i out?'
"Damn!" His head was pounding, his neck was aching, his body hurt. He was thrown into the tree as soon as he stood up earlier.
"Daisuke, what's wrong, who is Ruki?" DemiV-mon asked.
"It's my fault, damnit, damnit, so stupid," that was all he said. He looked around, but knew there was only one thing to do.
"Daisuke," DemiV-mon said softly, he was very worried about his friend now.
"Oh, I'm sorry DemiV-mon. Someone texted me, they said the Digital World was in trouble, I worried about you, everyone here and my being the idiot I am, rushed in without calling anyone or thinking and got our new friend kidnapped... It's a long story buddy," he turned to the TV screen, "and I've got to get the others back here. You coming?"
"I'm coming." He jumped up and Daisuke put him on his shoulder as he held up his D3.
With a flash Daisuke and Demi-V-mon were walking through the halls, he told V-mon to keep out of sight he didn't have a bag; he would meet him at his car. Daisuke pulled out his phone and group texted all of his friends.
Ruki was taken in the Digital World! Emergency! I'm at the school gate.
Soon Taichi, Hikari, Sora, and Yamato pulled up.
"What happened, who all replied?"
"Ruki's gone, I don't really know what else. Just you guys so far, Koushiro is hurrying to finish but still tied up." Daisuke said at Taichi's window.
"Why in the world were you two in the Digital World?" Yamato asked.
Daisuke sighed, knowing it was his fault, he was still acting headstrong, "acting on impulse I went to the Digital World after I got this," he showed them the messages on his phone. "So naturally I rushed over, and without thinking or calling anyone, we jumped right in. But the second we got there someone or something attacked me; I went out like a light." He lifted his shirt to show a blue and yellow bruise across his entire ribcage front to back.
"OH! My god! Are you ok? That looks awful." Hikari looked shocked, he tried to act like he didn't care.
"Did you see anything else?" Yamato asked from the other side of Daisuke, he turned.
"I... No, I don't even remember going down really, much less what took me down. I was standing up then I was against the tree passing out."
"Shit, wait so you lost consciousness? How long?" Yamato asked.
"I don't know, it was morning when we went, a least a few hours."
"Okay, we're going to have to get over to Koushiro, he's the only one who might be able to figure out where to go. We will contact Gabumon and Agumon, have them get with the others to try and search the area you were in."
"Yeah," Daisuke said, worry intertwined in his voice, "that sounds like the best choices."
"Hey, we'll find her don't worry." Taichi said seeing the worry in Daisuke's eyes.
"Okay, let's get to Koushiro's. He texted back he should be finished working when we get there."
..
..
Two figures stood atop a high cliff, the wind in their hair. The cliff overlooked the water, which crashed far below on the rocky bottom cliffs. The night air was serene and peaceful, the wind was whipping the waves into a frenzy though. The shorter figure stood closer to the cliff, her arms crossed, looking out into the moonlit sky. Her orange colored hair blew back with a push of the wind, whatever didn't move was in a ponytail so well made on the back of her head. The taller figure stood with his hands in his pockets, his dark hair fluttered in the wind. His faced was bathed in anxiousness; finally he shoved that away and spoke up.
"Ruki…" The amber haired girl turned her head to look. Sadness somewhat shone on her face as she looked at him and spoke.
"What is it Dai-kun?" Daisuke mentally smiled before he spoke.
"I know there's not much I can say to make it easier on you, but I will be here for you no matter what happens." Daisuke paused for a moment.
"Daisuke I-" She couldn't finish.
"No, I know you don't really like to let people in, but please trust me, let me in your heart. I want to be there for you, even if you don't want to admit it, you can't always protect yourself, so let me." Millions of things were rushing through her mind, yet there was nothing suitable for an answer, was this real...
"It's okay; just forget I brought it-" Daisuke began.
"Wait, don't say that... It's just… I'm a tamer and the so-called Digimon queen, but when you told me that my mind couldn't move quick enough to say alright, I'll let you in. I'm just scared. I'm not allowed to be scared!"
"So that's how you really feel?" Daisuke stared into her eyes...
"Yes, ever since before I even met you in person, ok, I had a crush on you, even though I attempted to deny it, it was a secret no one knew. It makes me seem like a little girl with a school-girl crush. It's so stupid."
"It's not stupid Ruki." They had inched closer as they'd been talking, they were now just a few millimeters away from each other. She shut her eyes, then it was suddenly cold, she felt no lips, she reached out, only chilling cold. She opened her eyes, no Daisuke, no cliff, no waves, just darkness.
A new voice boomed from what seemed like everywhere, "really? So that's your deepest desire? Wow humans are so emotional and pathetic, love doesn't exist." The dark voice spoke.
"Daisuke!" Ruki yelled out for him. As she went to move a shadowy figure appeared behind her. She quickly turned to face the darkness.
"Who are you?!" She yelled angrily, this thing that made light of her emotions would pay.
"I am King of fears and nightmares. I am the amplifier of darkness and the destroyer of dreams, I am the annihilator of dimensions, I am Bugendaimon, the bringer of infinite darkness." The Digimon grinned eerily at the young girl who looked at the him defiantly.
..
..
..
Meanwhile Daisuke, Taichi, Yamato, and Hikari were running through a thick forest in the Digital World. Koushiro had gotten to work and found an area with strange signals originating around when Daisuke's signal was picked up as well. Then they just began asking nearby Digimon if they knew anything. Back at his house Koushiro worked vigorously to search throughout the Digital World for some sort of other signal, or a reply from Gennai would help too.
Back in the Digital World they got a tip from a digimon that had been passing through a forest around then, when he heard a girl scream and a dark cloud cover the sky before they ran in the other direction. They asked which direction and they began to sprint to where he'd pointed. He apologized to them for not helping her, but he knew whatever it was would've been way to strong for him. So, with their Digimon in the lead they hurried to reach the area, Daisuke's legs burned, but a deep motivation was keeping him going. He himself didn't know if it was guilt for getting her taken or if something more was building inside his heart for her, but he didn't care as long as he was there in time to save her.
"Daisuke, slow down, we can't all keep up." Yamato said as he slowed and bent over trying to catch his breath.
"Then just rest and catch up." Daisuke picked up the slowing V-mon and continued on his way unapologetically, behind him Taichi slowed to a stop with Yamato and Hikari.
"What's with him? I haven't seen him this provoked in years," Taichi asked, raising his hands behind his head and taking deep breaths to regain himself.
"I think he likes her... or he's feeling really guilty about what happened," Yamato said, standing straight up, ready for another go "let's go."
"Ready?" Taichi asked the other two and their Digimon, they all replied yes and followed the newly refreshed Taichi, after Daisuke.
..
..
Daisuke was still running vigorously trying desperately to find Ruki, when he heard a voice, but after he saw a bright light perk up over some bushes, he quit listening and sped up to catch it's source. He busted through the bushes just in time to see Ruki closing her eyes and crossing her arms, bracing for the bright light barreling toward her. Once again his instinct reared its head and he shot off like a bullet toward Ruki. Demi-V-mon jumped off his back and started to digivolve, Daisuke leapt toward the girl that was unable to move, he made contact, but they weren't fast enough, the light swallowed all three up, it all went dark for Daisuke again as he lost consciousness.
..
..
Taichi and the others had come up out of the bushes only in time to see Daisuke make contact with Ruki and the light overtake them. Taichi didn't even have to say anything, Agumon was already ready. As was Gabumon and Gatomon, "what have you done to them?!" Hikari yelled.
..
..
The trees rustled in the breeze, beautiful sunshine covered a boy laying nearly life-less on the ground, his clothes battered and torn, blood on his arm. A little ways down a girl and a little blue fur-ball were in the same condition mostly. The boy stirred, his eyes parted slightly as he put his hand to his head for some vain attempt to brush away the growing headache.
Slowly he regained his composure, he rolled and pushed himself up off the ground. That's when the girl and Demi-V-mon caught his attention, in a panic he ran quickly over to them. Both had pulses, but neither was conscious. He looked around, he wanted to find shelter and quick. There was a run-down building that looked like a school in the middle of the trees in the distance, he hoped it would hold, for the night at least. It didn't look familiar though. They were still in the Digital World surely, but where?
He picked the girl up in his arms, placed the blue little fur-ball atop her stomach, and walked quickly towards the building. As he neared, he could tell it had been years since it was last used, he balanced his full arms and snatched on the raggedy door, it popped open with a crack and a creak. He walked through the halls, then up the stairs and finally found what looked like a music room that didn't have broken windows and even had a few blankets, he laid them down, covered them both up.
'Where in the world did we go, what happened? Why are there blankets, in a school, in a forest, in the middle of the Digital World? Is it the Digital World?' Daisuke's mind raced as he looked out the window of the second floor room.
Find out next time...
