While everyone else began to get up and gather to get settled back into their fairy tale kingdom with their respective descendants, Regina soon came into the courtyard of her old palace that had been taken over by The Wicked Witch from The Land of Oz. She soon sat down on a bench and looked out into the landscape, feeling rather emotional and distant at the moment especially without Evie there by her side.
"I'm sorry, Henry. Maybe one day you'll find me and wake me up," The Evil Queen spoke dramatically. "But until then..." she then added, about to prick her finger until a certain green-skinned woman approached from behind.
"You weren't even going to say hello first? It's not exactly the welcome I was expecting."
Regina soon turned around to see The Wicked Witch.
"What does a witch have to do to get your attention?" The green woman complained before using her magic to take the needle rght out of Regina's hand, causing The Evil Queen to wince. "What's the matter? Has life got you down?" she then taunted the wicked regal.
"None of your business," Regina glared as she stood up bravely. "Where is my daughter?"
"You really don't know who I am, do you?" The Wicked Witch huffed, dodging her question easily.
"I know exactly who you are," Regina retorted coldly. "The Wicked Witch."
"Is that all?" The Wicked Witch smirked as she seemed to be hiding more to herself than what she appeared to be.
"I'm not that interested," Regina shook her head. "Tell me where my evil-ette is right now and I won't hurt you." she then demanded as her Mama Bear mode had been engaged.
The Wicked Witch glared and soon stunned Regina's feet to the floor to prevent The Evil Queen from getting away so easily. "Please, allow me to introduce myself. You can call me Zelena." she then calmly informed the other woman.
"That's my dress." Regina said, realizing what The Wicked Witch was wearing.
"I had to take it in a little bit at the hips but it looks better on me, don't you think?" Zelena smirked in response.
"I think, you should never have left Oz and taken my daughter away from me." Regina retorted.
"You can have your castle and spawn back if you want them so badly. I was just trying the castle on for size," Zelena replied wickedly. "Besides, I've already seen everything worth seeing. Your closet. Your gardens. Your crypt."
That last part piqued Regina's interest and curiosity easily. "Yes, how did you break the blood lock?" she then demanded.
"I didn't." Zelena smirked.
"The door was open. No one's that powerful," Regina explained before she narrowed her eyes. "Did you use my Evil Princess's blood for selfish gain? Is that why you took her?" she then added sternly.
"Cora really never told you." Zelena realized.
"Tell me what?" Regina demanded. "Where is my daughter?!"
"Yes, yes, of course, your child, but first, you must know the truth about us, Regina." Zelena retorted.
"What are you talking about?" Regina chuckled and smirked. "And, how do you know my mother?"
"Same way you do," Zelena smirked back as she leaned in closer. "I'm your sister."
Regina's eyes briefly turned wide at that reveal.
"Actually, half-sister," Zelena then continued. "But, details, details."
"That's not possible," Regina glared. "You're green."
"And you're rude. Cora had me first. Before she found her way into the dregs of royalty. Well, you know I'm telling the truth. How else could I have broken the door to the crypt?" Zelena retorted and explained. "Our mother gave me up and sent me away, but you, you she kept. You she gave everything. You even got to give her a grandchild."
"Everything she wanted," Regina snorted. "If what you're saying is true, then you were lucky to escape her."
"Enough of the martyr complex, Regina. Try growing up without a mother. Try living in Oz," Zelena countered. "Knowing that no one thought you were good enough. Not your mother. And not the only man that our paths both crossed: Rumplestiltskin."
"You knew Rumplestiltskin?" Regina asked, sounding slightly surprised.
"Did you think you were his only student?" Zelena smirked.
Regina narrowed her eyes. "Let me guess: You're mad because he chose me to cast his curse. Well, get over it. It wasn't everything it was cracked up to be." she then scoffed at the witch who was her sister.
"Anything would have been better than the life I had, but, despite my shortcomings I made something of myself, dear," Zelena replied. "And I didn't need Cora. Or Rumplestiltskin."
"It's too bad they're not around to see how well you've turned out," Regina replied. "They're both dead."
"That's alright~" Zelena smirked. "You're the only one I need alive."
"Really? Why is that?" Regina demanded.
"Because I'm going to take everything away from you." Zelena answered rather wickedly.
"Too late," Regina replied. "I've already lost everything that matters and Evie is the only thing left I have to keep happy and I won't be very happy unless you return her to me."
"No, Regina," Zelena replied. "You haven't lost anything yet."
"So, you are going to kill me?" Regina guessed.
"No, it's too easy. For me to get what I want I need you to suffer. You see, what's in store for me is all my dreams being realized," Zelena replied. "But for you; well, it's a fate worse than death."
"Go ahead," Regina challenged. "Bring it, Greeny."
Zelena narrowed her eyes before she waved her hand as a poof of green smoke suddenly appeared and Evie was shown, unharmed but looking very scared right now.
"Evie." Regina whispered softly.
"Mommy!" Evie piped up as she ran toward Regina and hugged her mother right away.
"Indeed, I will go up against you. See you soon, sis." Zelena smirked as she summoned her broomstick and soon took off flying, leaving Regina and Evie alone.
"Mommy, is it over?" Evie asked softly.
"It is for now, sweetie," Regina cooed. "Come along now, let's go back into the other room and get you ready for bed."
"Aww..." Evie pouted about going to bed "so early".
"I'm sorry, my dear, but even princesses have a bedtime." Regina smirked warmly as she took Evie's hand and began to lead her back over to where she left a certain outlaw of Sherwood Forest.
Evie pouted a little bit.
"Come along, I'll tuck you in and I'll tell you a story tomorrow." Regina then said as she began to lead Evie out of the courtyard, going to send her daughter straight to bed.
"Yes, Mommy." Evie replied and pouted a little.
A little while later, Robin was freed from his spell and soon, Regina came back into the chamber.
"You didn't go through with it." Robin said to Regina.
"You were right. The sleeping curse wasn't the answer," Regina explained, sounding like she was in a cheerful mood right now. "As you said, I just needed to find something to live for."
"And you found it?" Robin asked with a small smile. "What?"
"The one thing I haven't had in a very long time," Regina smiled back, though in a rather villainous way compared to his. "Someone to destroy."
Robin looked a little unsure about that, but he didn't have the time or patience to question it as it was very late at night and everyone should probably get settled back into their new homes away from Storybrooke. However, to thank him for what he could do to help, Regina decided to give him a very special reward.
Soon, the groups split up for the night and they were all going to sleep once they got settled with their descendants. Some who didn't have their own descendants took some in temporarily, such as Lotus from the flower shop Game of Thorns taking in Jay as the two had a rather close bond with each other and they weren't sure why just yet. Speaking of Jay though, he was getting settled for the night by Lotus and was now fast asleep, but he began to have strange dreams.
When Jay woke up in his dream, he found himself in some sort of Arabic setting. He sat up and looked over to see that there was a royal bed fit for a young sleeping prince and even came out of the room and looked out, coming to a balcony as he could see a Middle Eastern land in the distance. The setting looked both familiar and unfamiliar to him at the same time. Like he knew this place somehow, but he couldn't think of the name or where he might had seen it before. He continued to look around before wincing as he stepped on something that squeaked, then looked under his foot to see that it appeared to be a parrot doll that was mostly red with blue tail feathers.
"Iago want a cracker! Iago want a cracker!" The parrot squawked in an annoying and scratchy voice.
Jay grimaced, covering his ears from the parrot's voice before he kicked it out of his way and rushed to get out of the room. He soon stopped to listen and heard a different voice that again, sounded familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. He came closer to the door to go and check it out up close and saw what appeared to be a faceless woman in royal garb that was a lavender headscarf, a bell-sleeved long purple dress, purple harem pants, magenta waist slash, brown curled-toe shoes, and visible brown hoop earrings. She also seemed to wear a headband with a royal purple jewel.
"Oh, my little boy... My sweet little boy..." The woman cooed as she held onto a bundle in her arms that appeared to be a baby boy that couldn't be more than six months old.
Jay tried to take a closer look at the woman to get a look at her face, but then suddenly, the woman seemed to disappear. There was suddenly a peal of wicked laughter as the baby boy was suddenly taken by this mysterious man as he kept the baby boy out of the poor woman's reach and suddenly blew the woman away with what appeared to be magic that was colored in red and black.
"Don't take my boy!" The woman called out and her voice seemed to echo before everything faded to black. "Come find me, my son. Find me. Please!~"
Jay's eyes then shot open as he suddenly woke up in his new bed in The Enchanted Forest. "Lady, look out!" he then cried out before breathing heavily out of fright once he got out of his bad dream.
"Jay?" Lotus' voice asked as she soon came into the room with a candle for light once she heard him screaming, acting like a surrogate mother to him. "What is it?"
"I had a dream that that this lady was with her baby and then the baby was taken away from the lady because this big scary guy who was like a snake showed up and sent her away probably to her death!" Jay began to explain, sounding very animated and frantic in tone before he fell back in his bed, breathing heavily.
"All right, all right, it's okay." Lotus then told him softly.
"It was awful!" Jay continued, sounding like he was going to cry for a minute.
"Shh! It's okay, it's okay. Jay, calm down. It was just a dream," Lotus coaxed and tried to soothe him. "Everybody's fine. We're back in The Enchanted Forest and you're going to have a better life here and I'm going to make sure of it, even if we may or may not actually be family."
Jay continued to pant until he calmed down then. Ohhh... I think you're right cuz you said to me that you're always right." he then said once he sounded a little relaxed.
"That's right," Lotus nodded and smiled. "Tell you what, why don't you come explore with me tomorrow? I was thinking of going to the stables. I could really use your help." she then offered warmly.
"Help? Sure, I'd love to help you." Jay smiled back warmly at her since she gave him the maternal touch he never truly experienced before.
"We'll have a nice big breakfast tomorrow and maybe we'll even go and see if your friend Enid wants to come along too." Lotus then decided.
Jay looked bashful at the mention of Enid.
"Sound good? All right..." Lotus nodded at that.
"Can we get a nice big plate of pancakes with extra syrup and powdered sugar?" Jay asked eagerly.
"I'll see what I can do." Lotus smirked at him.
"Maybe some donuts and birthday cake and ice cream too?" Jay then asked.
"Good night, Jay." Lotus smirked at that.
"Night!" Jay replied before he soon continued. "Maybe even a little bit of brownies?"
Lotus chuckled as she tucked him in, kissed him good night, then blew out the candle before she left to go and get some of her own sleep for the night.
When the next day came and after having a delicious and unforgettable breakfast, Jay and Enid began to look around as they came into the stables of The Dark Palace after Lotus guided them there.
"Good morning, all." Robin greeted them as they came by.
"Good morning, Mr. Hood," Lotus replied. "Surprised to see you here."
"Ah, yes, I was just putting away a gift that was given to me last night for assisting The Evil Queen." Robin replied as he showed the arrows that Regina gave him the night before.
"Whoa... Are those golden-tipped arrows?" Jay asked out of amazement.
"Right you are, young lad," Robin nodded with a small smile. "Payment for helping the Queen break into her castle. Never thought I'd be paid to break in somewhere. It just feels wrong somehow." he then added as he put the arrows away into his quiver.
"That was really nice of her," Enid spoke up. "The Queen must like you."
"It's a pity she wants me out of her castle as soon as possible, but for now, it's the best place for my boy and my sister. With that witch on the loose, my first priority is keeping my family safe," Robin replied. "I'm sure you understand that."
"Oh, we do, sir." Lotus nodded.
"That sounds so brave of you, Mr. Hood," Jay replied. "I wish I could be brave."
Enid frowned, feeling a little concerned.
"Oh, Jay, you are brave," Lotus reassured him. "You are fine just the way you are."
"Did someone not get enough sleep last night?" Robin wondered as he glanced toward Jay in concern.
"I... I had a bad dream." Jay explained wearily.
"Mm. Yeah, I've been there," Robin nodded and agreed before he knelt down to the boy's height, trying to make him feel safe and comfortable. "Is there anything you want to talk about? Or not talk about?" he then offered as he had a good experience in being a father and big brother if someone else would need it.
"I don't know..." Jay frowned as e looked away. "I just wish I could be brave."
"I think you're brave, Jay," Enid told him softly. "When you helped fight against those Lost Boys and you told me some pretty cool stuff from when you lived in Storybrooke."
"Heh... I guess I was pretty brave back then." Jay said with a small smile.
"Then, what's changed?" Robin wondered softly.
"I... I don't know..." Jay frowned. "My dream messed me up I guess..."
"It did sound scary even to me when you told me about it, Jay, so don't feel bad over one bad dream," Lotus advised warmly. "You're still young after all. Sure, younger than you were in Storybrooke, but I know you're a very brave and strong boy who will grow up into being a very brave and strong man." she then added.
"Yeah!" Enid added.
Robin looked soft until he suddenly remembered something that would probably help soothe Jay's fears. "After my wife died, Friar Tuck told me of a root, that if digested would help one overcome any and all fears." he soon began to explain.
"Whoa..." Enid whispered with wide eyes.
"Where can I find it?" Jay suddenly asked out of determination.
"It's said to grow under the white moss at the edge of Sherwood Forest," Robin instructed. "Just south of here."
"White moss," Jay recited to himself and nodded. "Anything else?" he then asked.
"It has flakes of crystal within its flesh," Robin explained. "It looks like stars."
"Stars?" The other three repeated curiously.
"That's why they call it 'Night Root'." Robin nodded and confirmed.
"Did it help you?" Jay asked hopefully.
"I don't really dabble in magic unless I have to." Robin replied.
"Then I'll go over there and get my bravery back." Jay said out of determination.
"Oh, um, I don't know if you should go out there on your own, Jay dear," Lotus replied softly. "Nothing really good comes from a child being lost and alone in the forest without adult supervision."
"Aye, just ask my sister Goldilocks." Robin nodded.
"Didn't Hansel and Gretel travel into the forest alone without any grown-ups?" Enid then piped up.
"I think you know that's another reason why Jay shouldn't wander into the forest by his lonesome." Lotus then told the girl.
"Then maybe I can go with him," Enid suggested. "We can look out for each other."
"Oh, I don't know, you two..." Lotus sighed, though she did see a look of determination in their eyes. "...It's not dangerous, is it?" she then asked Robin out of caution.
"Well..." Robin drawled a bit.
"That's it," Lotus soon said. "You two aren't going over there, end of conversation."
Jay and Enid pouted and sniffled, trying to look cute and innocent.
Lotus hesitated at their looks before she shook her head. "I'm not going to fall for that," she then said before groaning a bit, then sighed in defeat. "I just don't want you two to get hurt."
"Oh, please, Miss Lotus, I won't let us get hurt and I can protect Enid," Jay insisted innocently. "You don't have to worry about us."
"I'm just not sure if you should go alone," Lotus said to them. "Besides, how would you even get there on your own?"
"Maybe we coud take a horse?" Enid suggested before looking over. "Mr. Hood, do you know any horses that might be free from the stables?"
"I know there's one that not even the bravest of stable boys can tame, but it might be too much for you lot," Robin replied. "Some say that about this horse there was only one gentle hand who was able to tame his wild beast."
Lotus looked a little nervous and unsure about that while Jay and Enid still tried to be determined about getting that so-called Night Root. "Where is this horse, Mr. Hood?" she then asked Robin, knowing that Jay and Enid weren't going to budge unless they got what they wanted and she felt bad for Jay for feeling scared due to his bad dream from the night before.
"The Queen told me about him and she's not sure where he came from and why, but if I would have to guess, he came from The Capital of Agrabah." Robin nodded as he began to lead the way over to said horse.
"Agrabah?" Jay and Enid repeated curiously.
"Yes, another land in our Fairy Tale World isolated from The Land Without Magic, but that's all I know about it other than it's mostly a desert," Robin nodded as he began to lead the way. "They say that there was once a fabled King of Thieves who had a band of 40 Thieves and left his wife and child for that sort of life. I don't recall much about my parents, but if my father is anything to go by, he chose his family over that lifestyle and it cost both of them their own lives."
"Oh," Lotus frowned. "I'm sorry for your loss."
"It's quite all right," Robin reassured her. "Sometimes I wish I could find that family book from when my sister and I were young, but it seems hopeless. I guess I should be thankful that I have my sister back in my life at least as having some family back is better than having no family at all."
"So true." Lotus nodded at that as that sounded like very good life advice.
Jay and Enid also nodded as they took that as a valuable moral for their lives in the future. Robin then led them over to a white stallion with a gray mane who looked a bit firm and grand in stature.
"So, uh, what do we have here?" Jay asked.
"The Queen says this horse is named Sahara," Robin explained to them. "This horse doesn't seem to like anyone and there was only one person, I assume from The Capital of Agrabah, who could ever ride this horse."
The horse snorted and looked down, glaring slightly at Jay and Enid, causing Jay to hide behind Lotus for protection.
"Hello, Sahara." Enid tried to greet.
Sahara soon bucked up and neighed rather viciously, startling Enid just a little bit.
"Careful, Enid," Robin advised the girl before he went over to a nearby tree and decided to pluck it of its fruit. "According to The Queen, Sahara only calms down and lets other people near him with his favorite snack." he then added, showing a shiny red apple in his hand.
"He's beautiful." Lotus commented.
"I guess so," Jay shrugged. "For me, a horse is a horse."
"To each their own, but try growing up in this forest like the rest of us while you children were able to enjoy and grow up in Storybrooke." Robin smirked a little before he approached Sahara to give the horse the apple from his hand.
Sahara seemed to glare at him before looking at Lotus strangely.
"It's okay, Sahara, it's okay... We're not here to hurt you..." Lotus coaxed and comforted the horse as calmly as possible. "Just look into my eyes because I've got my eyes on you."
Sahara seemed to relax at Lotus, approaching her slowly. Jay and Enid backed away along with Robin before Sahara seemed to calm down naturally around Lotus and even nuzzled his face against hers.
"Hey, I think he likes me." Lotus giggled and smiled.
"Well... I'll be..." Robin blinked in surprise.
Jay and Enid looked at each other and then smiled as they looked back at Lotus since she was able to tame and soothe the horse. Robin then offered the apple to Lotus who then took it.
"Can we get a ride from you, Sahara?" Lotus asked as she held out the apple.
Sahara then leaned in and tried to eat the apple right away.
Lotus then quickly retracted it. "I said, 'Can we get a ride from you, Sahara?'," she then repeated herself. "You can have this treat if you be nice to not only me but also to Jay and Enid."
Sahara then knickered quietly and settled down.
"Good..." Lotus nodded as she let him have the apple. "You can have plenty more of these if you be nice to them so I can get them to where they need to go from here."
Sahara munched on the apple and seemed to nod and smile at Lotus in response, sensing trust and love from her that reminded him of someone from long ago back in Agrabah.
"Well, I suppose I should let you all go then," Robin remarked. "Nice job in soothing the horse, Lady Lotus."
"Just Lotus is fine and thank you, Mr. Hood." Lotus nodded in response as she then went back into the stables to get a saddle.
"I just hope that this can help me out a little," Jay said to Enid. "I wanna be brave and strong again."
"I think that you're plenty brave," Enid told him calmly. "You're amazing, Jay, just the way you are."
Jay looked a little bashful in response to that. "Thanks, Enid." he then told her.
"No problem, Jay." Enid smiled warmly at him.
Soon, it looked like Lotus, Jay, and Enid were all ready to go on Sahara to carry out their mission for the day.
"You should know they uh... say that that part of the forest is haunted." Robin began to caution them.
"Haunted?" Lotus repeated while Jay and Enid looked concerned at first.
"You may need the Night Root to handle the fear of your journey to stop your fear," Robin explained. "Perhaps you should invest in a dreamcatcher for the boy?" he then suggested.
Lotus looked over and sighed. "He's my responsibility and I told him I was going to let him do this, but thank you for your concern, Mr. Hood," she then replied as she looked back at the outlaw. "I'll do my best to look out for him and Enid."
"Just don't say that I didn't warn you." Robin replied.
"We know," Lotus told him before she picked up the reins. "Come along, Sahara. Let's go find that Night Root."
Sahara neighed in response before he began to leave The Evil Queen's stables to go off into a brand-new adventure with them.
Deep in Sherwood Forest, Lotus stayed further away in the distance with Sahara to allow Jay and Enid to look for The Night Root that Robin had told them about. Jay soon found a spot where the white moss was growing and dug through it to find what he was looking for.
"Look, Jay, it's just like the stars like Mr. Hood said," Enid pointed out to him. "That must be the Night Root."
"I think you're right, Enid." Jay agreed with her.
"Good," A new voice suddenly said right beside them. "You found it."
Jay and Enid gasped before looking over to see that David had arrived with a torch. "Mr. Nolan?!" they then gasped.
"What are you two doing out here?" David asked them.
"We could ask you the same question." Jay remarked.
"Hm." David snorted slightly.
"We're looking for The Night Root cuz Jay feels scared." Enid began to explain.
"Enid!" Jay pouted.
"Well, you are." Enid defended and reminded him.
"You feel scared about something, Jay?" David asked the boy out of slight concern.
"Yeah... you probably think I'm being silly..." Jay sighed and explained softly. "I kinda had a bad dream."
"Oh, there's nothing wrong with that, Jay," David told him. "In fact, I feel a little scared too."
"You feel scared, Mr. Nolan?" Enid asked.
"Mm-hmm." David nodded truthfully.
"But you're a grown-up." Jay then told the man gently.
"Everyone's afraid of something sometimes, kids," David gently explained with a small smile. "Even grown-ups."
"Oh..." Jay said thoughtfully.
"What're you scared of, Mr. Nolan?" Enid wondered.
"Well, I-" David was about to explain until...
"Help! Please, help!" A woman's voice called out suddenly.
"Who's that?" Enid wondered.
"That doesn't sound like Miss Lotus." Jay added out of concern.
Drawing his sword, David decided to go and follow the sound. "You kids better stay here and I'll go check that out." he then suggested.
"No way, we're coming with you." Jay said out of determination.
"Kids..." David sighed, concerned about them coming along.
"Don't fight them," Lotus spoke up from where she stood and waited with Sahara. "Those kids are fierce."
David glanced at her and then looked back at Jay and Enid who shrugged innocently in response, causing him to sigh in slight frustration.
And so, after stepping through a gap in the undergrowth David found himself on a clearing as Jay and Enid followed him. At the edge of the clearing, there stood a very tall tower.
"Up here! Please!" The woman's voice continued to call out.
Slowly, David climbed up the tower's wall, using a queue of hair as a rope while Jay and Enid followed him. Panting, he finally climbed through a window before Jay and Enid came after him as they were faced by a beautiful long-haired woman who had a green reptile on her shoulder as she held out a frying pan for safety, but relaxed once she saw that they were a friendly company.
"You're... you're the first people I've seen in such a long time." The mysterious princess greeted.
"How long have you been up here?" David asked her.
"Pascal and I have lost count of the years," The princess replied as she looked at her new company. "Are you princes and a princess?"
"Well, I am a prince and you can call me David, and this is Jay and Enid," David introduced and explained. "As far as we all know, they aren't a prince and a princess though." he then added.
Jay bowed in response while Enid also curtsied.
"A tiara?" David asked once he took a closer look at this princess as her head accesory told them all one thing. "Are you a princess?" he then asked.
"Yes, but you can call me Rapunzel." The princess explained.
"Did you say Rapunzel?" Enid asked, sounding surprised at first.
"Yes," Rapunzel nodded and explained more about her story to them. "My parents are the king and queen of my realm. Great leaders. Adored by our people," she then took a closer look at Enid rather curiously. "Have we met? You seem familiar." she then noted.
"You seem familiar to me too, but I don't believe we've met, Princess Rapunzel." Enid replied.
"Uh, excuse me?" Jay soon spoke up. "No offense, but if you're a princess, why did you leave your kingdom? I mean, who would wanna give that kind of life up?" he then asked the adult princess.
"For the same reason Prince David did," Rapunzel explained. "I saw what you all were digging up."
"You came for The Night Root?" David wondered.
"Yes. When I got older, I knew, I just knew I could never be a leader like my parents," Rapunzel explained. "But at least I had my older brother. He was next in line, but then, something happened. Something horrible."
Enid frowned softly. "Did he... die?" she soon asked.
"Mm-hmm." Rapunzel nodded and confirmed in regret.
"We're sorry." David told Rapunzel out of sympathy.
"It was a terrible, terrible accident. And after his death, this fear started to overwhelm me," Rapunzel began to explain to them. "When I closed my eyes..." she then started only to trail off.
"The nightmares would come?" David guessed.
"They crippled my sleep." Rapunzel nodded.
Jay and Enid both looked soft as that sounded so sad and scary.
"Did you take The Night Root?" David asked Rapunzel softly.
"Yes. It didn't work," Rapunzel sighed and explained as she gently scratched under Pascal's chin. "Coming to get it was the greatest mistake in my life."
"So, uh, how are you still here?" Jay spoke up then.
"Before I could return home a witch appeared, her face hidden under a cloak," Rapunzel replied. "She attacked me and chased me to this tower."
"A witch?" Jay wondered. "Which old witch?"
"Was it The Wicked Witch?" Enid added.
"No, at least, I don't think so," Rapunzel replied. "I'm not sure if any of you would understand."
"You don't have to worry about her anymore," David promised Rapunzel. "We're getting you out of here."
"You don't understand. She won't let me," Rapunzel said as she grabbed David's arm before he could climb out the tower window. "Whenever I try to leave, she-"
Then suddenly, the candles' flames went out. David then looked out the window, seeing a hooded figure approaching the tower who looked rather mysterious and menacing before the hooded figure began to climb up the tower from outside.
"It's too late," Rapunzel said out of fear. "She knows you are here."
"Oh, boy..." Jay gulped nervously.
Enid gasped and bit her lip out of worry as Pascal began to climb up her shoulder suddenly, almost like out of instinct. The hooded figure was soon climbing up the tower, scaring Enid right away as she hid behind Jay and began to shiver a little.
"I should never have called you. I'm the one she wants," Rapunzel said to David as she pulled him away from the window. "If you leave now, maybe she'll spare you."
"No, that's not the way this works," David insisted. "I'm getting you back to your family."
"Please, she'll kill you. You can't save me," Rapunzel frowned fearfully. "There's nothing you can do."
"No, I can save you and I will." David insisted to Rapunzel.
"I'm going to help too and if you're not going to let me help, then just get out of my way." Jay said as bravely as he could.
"All right, Jay, you can help," David nodded. "Enid, look after Rapunzel. This shouldn't take too long."
"Yes, sir." Enid nodded as she came beside the long-haired princess.
