Chapter 3: First Days At U.A.
In front of the U.A. school
Mario Luigi had just arrived at U.A. to start their first day of school.
"Here it is Mario. The best hero school in the world. Are you ready?"
"Sure am Luigi. Let's-a go."
"Hold up!"
Mario and Luigi turned to see Peach and Daisy getting out of their car.
"You weren't planning on starting without us were you?" Daisy asked.
"No of course not. We thought you were already here since you have your ride." Luigi answered.
"Yeah, sorry about that. We took a while getting ready." Peach explained.
"You mean your makeup?"
"No Mario, making sure we had enough supplies."
"It would do no good if you make a bad impression on the first day of school because you weren't prepared Peach."
Toadsworth said as he got their backpacks. The backpacks appeared to be full of books, pens, pencils, erasures, and various other school supplies.
"Your parents tasked me with taking care of you until they arrive and I do my best to fulfill the duties assigned to me. So I had to quadruple-check your and Daisy's backpacks to ensure you didn't forget anything."
"He's so similar to our Toadsworth it's kind of scary." Mario thought.
"Master Mario, Master Luigi, please look after Miss Peach and Miss Daisy while at school."
"Toadsworth!" Peach and Daisy yelled in embarrassment.
"We can take care of ourselves. We passed the test also." Peach clarified.
"Can't be too safe Peach. Now I have taken enough of your time. It wouldn't make a good first impression if you were late on your first day now."
"Right, stay safe on the way home Toadsworth. Come on you two slowpokes!"
Peach called out as she and Daisy went into the school.
"Hey, wait up!"
Luigi called back as he and Mario chased after them.
"Hmm, yes. They seem to be fine lads. It appears the girls made excellent choices for partners."
Toadsworth said to himself observing the four. With our four young students, they were walking along the halls trying to find their classrooms.
"Okay, so I'm in class 1-A."
Mario said.
"Me too."
Peach said.
"Cool, what about you two?"
"Let's see, I'm in class 1-B."
Luigi answered.
"Same here."
Daisy said.
"Well, it seems class 1-B is down that hallway."
Peach said, pointing to the signs on the wall.
"I guess this is where we part ways. Make sure you give it your all bro."
Mario said, holding out a fist bump to Luigi.
"You too bro."
Luigi replied, reciprocating the fist bump.
"See you around Peach."
Daisy said as she left with Luigi.
"See you around. We should get going Mario."
"Right."
Mario and Peach continued down the hall to their class.
"This should be it."
Mario said as he and Peach saw the door to their class. They noticed that two kids were standing in the doorway.
"Hey, Midoriya."
Mario greeted the green-haired teen.
"Huh? Oh hey, Mario. Looks like we're in the same class." Midoriya said.
"Yep."
"And I remember you from the exam as well. I don't think I got your name when we met."
"It's Peach Toadstool. It's a pleasure to meet you Midoriya."
Peach shook Midoriya's hand. She then turned to the brunette girl standing next to him.
"And I remember you from the exam as well. I don't think were properly greeted. I'm Peach Toadstool."
"Ochaco Uraraka, it's very nice to meet you Peach. Thanks for helping me when I was in trouble."
"It was no problem Ochaco, that's what heroes do after all."
"Right! Hello there, I'm Ochaco Uraraka."
Uraraka said, extending a hand to Mario.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Mario Mario."
Mario said shaking her hand. Most of the other students were looking at Mario.
"Hey look, it's the guy that got the top score in the practical." A buff teen with large lips said.
"I saw him in action. His quirk is awesome." A red-haired teen said back.
Meanwhile, a blond, spiky-haired teen was glaring at Mario.
"Damn foreigner. I'll put you back in your place soon." The angry teen said to himself.
Two other students focused on Peach though.
"Whoa, do you see that?" A teen with electric yellow hair said to his smaller compatriot.
"Yeah, a real-life cat girl. This year is going to be great." A grape-haired teen said with lecherous eyes.
"So what do you think our teacher is going to be like?" Uraraka asked.
"Don't have a clue, but I'm sure it'll be someone with plenty to teach us."
Mario said, before noticing a yellow sleeping bag at the entrance.
"What is that?"
Mario asked, the others noticed and were just as curious. Mario bent down to open the bag when.
"If you're here to make friends, then leave."
A voice coming out of the sleeping bag said. It opened up from the inside, revealing a sleep-deprived man with long black hair.
"Who is that!?" Mario asked in shock.
The man didn't respond, instead, he just grabbed a juice box from within the bag and drank it in one sip. The students stared at the man, confused, as the man got up and out of the sleeping bag.
"Um, excuse me, sir." Peach started. "But who are you?"
"Hmm? Oh, I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher for the year." The man answered.
"What!?"
All the students shouted in shock.
"Enough. You took about eight seconds to settle down. That's not gonna cut it. Real heroes know that time is valuable. There should be gym uniforms inside all your desks. Put them on and meet me at the training fields."
The students all changed and went outside. When they got there, they saw that Aizawa had set up various sports equipment around the area.
"Sir, what about orientation? We're going to miss it."
Uraraka stated.
"Listen, while at this school I'm allowed to teach however I want, and I won't waste time with pointless ceremonies like that. So instead, we're having a quirk evaluation test. So I know what I'm working with. Mario, catch."
Aizawa tossed a baseball to Mario.
"Since you scored the highest in the entrance exam you will be going first. Tell me, what was your farthest throw in middle school?"
"Hmm, I'd say between sixty to seventy meters."
"Do it again, but use your quirk this time. The school system still believes all individuals are born equal and prevent the usage of quirks during physical examinations. That's a lie and should be changed. The truth is that some of us are born with more advantages than others. That's why we're doing this test, to find out what you're made of. Mario throw the ball as far as you can. You can do whatever you want to throw it, just don't leave the circle."
"Right!"
Mario responded, he then walked into the circle. He activated his quirk and grew larger. He pulled his back his arm and charged up a throw.
"Let's-a go!"
Mario shouted as he threw the ball. All the other students were in shock and awe at how far it went. Aizawa flipped the phone in his hand to show Mario had reached a distance of 1005.5 meters.
"Holy crap man. That's got to be the best throw of the day."
A boy with weird elbows said.
"Damn foreigner!"
The angry blond growled in anger.
"So we get to use our quirks for this test. This is going to be fun."
A pink-skinned girl with dark eyes said in glee. Aizawa heard this and turned to the rest of the students in anger.
"Fun is it? You won't think it's fun when the person in last place gets expelled."
Aizawa threatened, the students were startled at hearing this.
"What!? But that's not fair."
Uraraka complained.
"Natural disasters, break-ins, muggings, car accidents, and murders. Do you think it's fair for the people who are affected by these events? Heroes have to combat that unfairness and save those who are in danger. If you thought this was going to be a normal high school life where you goof off with your friends and then hang out at some fast food joint after school, then pack up and leave. We're training the next generation of heroes here, not babysitting a bunch of lazy brats. We will push you, break you, and make you go beyond your limits and then some. So I hope you're ready for the most intense years of your teenage life. If not, the exit is that way. Any other complaints?"
None of the students spoke up.
"Good, now the next person, get to it already."
Aizawa ordered. The next one to throw was Peach. As she took her place, the Shadow Queen came out of her shadow.
"Shall we?"
The Shadow Queen asked.
"I didn't want to show it off yet, but I want to make a good impression. So let's do it."
The Shadow Queen nodded and flew into Peach. Peach's fur turned a dark pink and her light blue eyes were now a dark pink as well. Peach wound up her throw and threw the ball with tremendous force. Aizawa revealed Peach had reached a distance of 885.3 meters.
"Holy crap! I was not expecting her throw to go that far."
The grape-haired boy said.
"Did her quirk just go inside of her?"
A girl with earphone jacks coming out of her ears asked.
As Peach was walking back to the group, Aizawa stopped her.
"Peach, what was that you did just now?"
"It was a move I've been working on since middle school. Shadow Queen flies into me and we become one. It increases my physical prowess as long as we are fused."
"I see, and why didn't you put that down in your quirk description?"
"It was my secret technique, you know, my trump card in a fight. I didn't want to show it off yet."
"Okay, makes sense. Keep working on it Peach. That was an impressive showing."
"Right!"
Peach joined the group and the blond boy took the field. He glared at Mario, Peach, and Midoriya with a hateful look.
"I'll blow them all away!"
The boy thought to himself. He pulled back his arm and threw the ball with an explosion.
"DIE!"
The boy shouted.
"Die?"
All the students thought. Aizawa flipped the phone to show a distance of 705.2 meters. Some of the students were impressed, but the angry blond just sulked silently.
"Damn it. I didn't even get close to their scores. Damn it!"
Everyone took their turns, but no one could reach Mario or Peach's scores. Then Uraraka went up. She made the ball glow and threw it. The ball just kept going and going with no sign of stopping. Aizawa flipped the phone to show a score of infinity.
"Wow. How did you do that Uraraka?"
Peach asked her new friend.
"It's my quirk. I can make anything I touch weightless."
"Nice."
Finally, it was Midoriya's turn. He was thinking about how he was going to do this. If he used his quirk, he would destroy his body. If he didn't, then he would be expelled. Finally deciding it was best to put on a good showing, he pulled back his arm and threw the ball. But it didn't go far.
"What, why didn't my quirk activate?"
Midoriya asked himself.
"I turned off your quirk Midoriya."
Aizawa answered, his hair standing up and his eyes glowing red.
"Wait, I know you. The underground hero who takes his enemies by surprise by erasing their quirks. Eraserhead."
"I saw how you use your quirk, and that you can't control its power yet. Were you planning on destroying your body, hoping your classmates to save you once you were out of commission?"
"No, I-"
Aizawa then grabbed Midoriya with his scarf.
"It doesn't matter how much power you have if all you are good for is one punch. You'll never be anything more than a burden on the battlefield. They were too lenient with who they let in this year. You can't become a hero with that power."
Aizawa let Midoriya go and deactivated his quirk.
"I returned your impractical quirk. Take your final throw. Hurry and get it over with."
Aizawa ordered as he went back to his spot. All of the other students were wondering what Aizawa told Midoriya as they were not close enough to hear their conversation.
"What do you think he told him?"
Uraraka asked.
"Maybe he gave him some words of encouragement."
A teen with blue hair and glasses said.
"I bet he told him to pack up and leave already."
The angry blond kid said. Mario and Peach watched Midoriya, who was looking dejected. Mario knew that whatever Aizawa told Midoriya wasn't anything positive. He wanted to do something, but what could he do? Midoriya was the one taking the test, not him. While Mario was thinking of a way to help his friend Midoriya got a determined look in his eyes.
He pulled his arm back and threw the ball with incredible force. Aizawa looked at the phone in his hand to see that Midoriya had reached a distance of 705.2 meters.
"Did he use his quirk at the last second?"
Aizawa asked himself.
"Sir," Midoriya said, getting Aizawa's attention. "I'm still standing."
Midoriya stated with only a broken finger. Aizawa had a big grin on his face. Impressed by Midoriya's drive and ingenuity.
"This kid."
While all the students were impressed by Midoriya's performance, an explosion was let loose, and the angry blond teen rushed at Midoriya.
"Deku!" He shouted. "You better tell me how you did that or-"
The boy didn't finish as he had tripped and ate dirt.
"What the hell?"
The angry blond said in confusion as he got up. Aizawa then grabbed the boy with his scarf while he was getting up.
"Damn it! Why is your scarf so strong?"
"It's a capture item made of a special kevlar weave. I suggest you stop making me use my quirk, it gives me a serious case of dry eye."
"Too bad, that quirk is amazing."
The students thought.
"If you have another outburst like that, you will be expelled Bakugo."
Aizawa threatened Bakugo. He then released him and deactivated his quirk.
"That's enough time wasted. Let's move on to the next test."
Midoriya and Bakugo got back with the group. The students walked toward the next test, but Aizawa's gaze was fixed on Mario and Peach.
"No one else may have noticed, but I saw what happened. Peach's shadow stretched out to Bakugo, and two hands came out of it and grabbed his feet, making him fall. There's more to those two's quirks than they let on."
Aizawa said to himself, making a mental note to keep an eye on Mario and Peach. The tests continued with Mario and Peach getting excellent scores on each of them. After all the tests were done, everyone was gathered in front of a digital scoreboard.
"All right then. There's no point in going over each score, so I'm just going to put them up. This should give you an understanding of where you stand."
Aizawa pressed a button on his remote control and everyone's scores were displayed. Mario and Peach were happy that they got the top two spots. Mario then noticed Midoriya's name at the bottom of the scoreboard. Mario looked back to his visibly scared friend.
"And as for who's going home, no one is."
Aizawa stated, shocking all the students.
"It was a logical deception. To make sure you gave it your all."
"I thought it was obvious. I guess I should have said something."
Yaoyorozu, a girl with long black hair and a creation quirk, said.
"Yeah, you should've"
All the students said in unison.
"Enough, make sure to grab a class syllabus from the classroom before you leave for the day. Dismissed."
Aizawa said before approaching Midoriya.
"Midoriya, here. Take this pass and she Recovery Girl about your injury."
"Right."
Midoriya took the pass and left for the nurse's office. After school was over, Mario and Peach met up with Luigi and Daisy at the entrance.
"Hey there you two." Daisy greeted. "So how was your first day of school?"
"Intense."
Peach and Mario answered in unison.
"Really? Ours too."
Luigi said.
"Did your teacher make you take a quirk evaluation test?"
"Yeah, he did. So yours also did that Mario?"
"Yep, U.A. sure is intense huh?"
"It sure is. Our teacher said that anyone who didn't give it their all wouldn't last here at U.A.."
"Our teacher threatened anyone who didn't give it their all with expulsion."
"Yikes."
"Mind if we join you?"
Midoriya asked, Uraraka and the blue-haired teen from before with him.
"Oh hey Midoriya, Uraraka, and?"
"Tenya Iida."
The boy introduced himself to Mario.
"Nice to meet you, Iida."
Mario said shaking Iida's hand.
"Mario, I must apologize to you for my actions at the entrance exam."
Iida said with a bow.
"I wasn't acting like a proper hero or student and let my prejudices cloud my judgment of you and Midoriya. You acted like real heroes during the exam. Helping others despite any consequences to yourselves. I bow to the superior student."
"Hey man, no need for that. Just did what needed to be done. And it's cool, we all make mistakes."
"Thank you for your forgiveness. Now, I don't think we've been introduced to your friends yet."
"Right, this is my brother Luigi."
"Hey there, nice to meet you, Iida."
"A pleasure Luigi."
Iida then turned to Peach.
"Hello, I'm Peach Toadstool."
"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Peach."
Iida turned to Daisy.
"Hi, I'm Daisy."
"A pleasure Daisy. I believe we've met at the exams."
"Yeah, we did. So, where's my apology?"
"Right, I'm sorry for how I spoke to you back then."
"It's okay."
"So, are you and Luigi also in the hero course?"
"Yeah, but we're in class 1-B."
"I see."
"Do you all want to walk to the station together?"
Uraraka asked.
"About that."
Peach was about to explain when.
"Miss Peach, Miss Daisy. It's time to go."
Toadsworth called from the car.
"Be right there Toadsworth. We're just saying goodbye to our friends."
Peach called back.
"We have to go. We should hang out some other time though."
Peach said to the group.
"Is that your father?"
Midoriya asked.
"No, he's my butler."
"Butler!"
Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida said in shock. That is when Midoriya began to piece things together.
"Toadstool? Your family wouldn't happen to own the Toadstool hotel chains Peach?"
Midoriya asked.
"Yeah, that's my father's business. Please don't treat me any differently just because my family is rich. I'm just a girl trying to be a hero, just like you."
"Right."
Uraraka said in awe.
"Ladies! It's time to go!"
Toadsworth called out.
"Coming! See you tomorrow guys."
Peach said as she and Daisy left with Toadsworth. The others continued towards the station to go home.
The next day at U.A.
Class 1-A was sitting in class chatting amongst themselves. Suddenly,
"I AM HERE."
Was heard as the doors were thrown open.
"Coming through the door like a hero!"
All Might said as he struck a heroic pose at the door.
"All Might!"
The students yelled in excitement.
"So he is a teacher here. Man, this year is going to rock!"
Ejiro Kirishima, a teen with a skin-hardening quirk, said.
"Look, he's wearing his silver age costume."
Tsuyu Asui, a girl with a quirk that gives her the traits of a frog, pointed out.
"It's so retro. I'm getting goosebumps."
Mashirao Ojiro, a boy with a tail quirk, said. All Might strut up to the desk and then turned to the students.
"Hello and welcome to the most important class at U.A. Think of it as Heroing 101. Here you will learn the basics of being a pro and what it means to fight for good. Now let's get into it. This lesson will pull no punches!"
All Might exclaimed as he pulled out a cue card that said "Combat" on it.
"Combat training."
"Real combat?"
Bakugo and Midoriya said.
"But one of the keys to being a pro is looking good!"
All Might then pressed a button on a remote he had, and slots opened up from the wall revealing suitcases with numbers on them.
"These costumes were made by the support department. Based on the specification you fill out on your applications for U.A. So get suited up, and meet me at training field beta."
At training field beta
All Might was there waiting for the students.
"You know kids, they say that clothes make the pros. And look, you are the proof."
All Might said, gesturing to the kid's new outfits. Everyone came out in their new hero outfits. Mario and Peach looked at each other admiring their new looks. Peach had an outfit similar to her biker suit but with the gloves and footwear adjusted to her new cat claws. Mario's suit was a red jumpsuit with blue boots, white gloves, a white belt with a gold buckle with the letter M on it, and finally a yellow cape and his iconic hat to tie the outfit together.
"Man, you all look so cool! So are you ready to begin? You bunch of newbies. Hmm? Hang on, it appears we are missing someone."
"Right here!"
Midoriya called out as he exited the changing rooms. He was wearing a homemade green jumpsuit with white gloves and red tennis shoes. It also had a hood that was supposed to look like All Might's hair and a face guard meant to imitate All Might's smile. It didn't however and just made Midoriya look like a green bunny.
"Right, now that everyone is here, let's go!"
All Might began to lead the kids to the combat area when Uraraka approached Midoriya.
"Hey Deku, is that the outfit the support department made for you?"
"No, my mom made this for me as congratulations for getting into U.A."
"But you could've had a better costume made by experts."
"I know, but I felt like I owed to my mom for making this. No matter what, she has always supported me."
"That's so sweet of you Deku."
"It is indeed."
Peach said, entering the conversation.
"Thanks, Peach, I like your costume by the way. And yours too Mario. They both look amazing."
"Thanks, Midoriya. I put a lot of thought into it."
Mario said while Peach giggled in excitement. They arrived at the combat area when All Might turned to face the students.
"All right! Now here's the low down, you all will be facing each other in teams of twos. One team is the heroes and the other team are the villains."
"Isn't this a bit advanced sir?"
Asui asked.
"The best learning is done on the battlefield."
Suddenly All Might was bombarded with questions from the other students.
"All right, now calm down everybody. Okay, here's the scenario. A group of villains have stolen a nuclear weapon and have hidden it somewhere in the building. The heroes are to go in and neutralize them. The hero team wins if they either capture the villains or the weapon. On the other hand, the villains win if they capture the heroes or hold onto the weapon until time ends. Now time is limited, so to determine teams we will be drawing lots."
"Is that the best way to pair us, sir?"
Iida asked.
"It makes perfect sense." Midoriya started. "Think about it, you wouldn't have the luxury of choosing your partners during an emergency. You would have to work with whichever hero was nearby."
"I see, life is a series of random events. Pardon my rudeness, sir."
"No sweat, now let's draw!"
Everyone drew lots to determine their partners. Mario and Peach wound up being a team.
"How about that Peach."
"How lucky."
Everyone was getting with their partners when Yaoyorozu noticed something.
"Excuse me sir, but there are eleven teams. One team will have no one to face off in the exercise."
"That's why one team will be fighting twice."
"But who?"
Kyoka Jiro, a girl with earphone jacks attached to her earlobes, asked.
"One of the first teams to fight in the exercise. And those two will be these guys!"
All Might shouted as he pulled out one team from the hero box and one team from the villain box. Mario and Peach were the villains while Shoto Todoroki and Mezo Shoji were the heroes. The rest of the students went to the observation room to watch the battle while the two teams went to the building.
"Okay, villain team, you will have five minutes to prepare. Once that time is up the hero team will have ten minutes to capture you or secure the weapon. You each have a roll of capture tape, if you wrap one of your opponents in it then they are considered out of the battle. You are free to use your quirks, but if things get out of hand I will stop the battle. Understood?"
The four nodded in understanding.
"Good, now villain team enter."
Mario and Peach went inside and located the bomb.
"So this is the bomb. It looks like a real weapon, but is fake."
Peach said, she then turned to Mario.
"So what do we know about our opponents Mario?"
"Well, from what we saw yesterday. That Todoroki kid can make lots of ice, so we need to look out for that. And Shoji can grow extra limbs from his arms. If he can grow eyes and ears from them he'll be a walking radar. So we should assume they will know where we are."
"Hero team enter!"
All Might said through the intercom. With the hero team, Shoji walked into the building, growing ears using his dupli-arms quirk.
"They are on the fourth floor. It seems they are waiting for us."
"I see."
Todoroki said as he was entering the building.
"Get out. I'll end this fight in one move."
Shoji did as instructed and Todoroki began to freeze the whole building. Back with Mario and Peach, they were waiting when Peach's ears perked up.
"Get ready Mario. Something is coming."
Mario and Peach got ready for whatever was about to happen. Suddenly the room began to freeze. Peach covered herself and the bomb with the Shadow Queen, but Mario's feet were frozen. Back in the observation room.
"Peach's ears must be really good to hear the ice coming."
Asui said.
"And she managed to protect herself with the Shadow Queen. Talk about an awesome quirk combo."
Denki Kaminari, a boy with an electric quirk, said.
"Yeah, but now she's alone against Todoroki and Shoji. Mario's feet are frozen to the floor and he's-"
Mario used his quirk to grow and break out of the ice, interrupting Jiro's explanation.
"Nevermind."
Jiro finished. Back with Mario and Peach.
"Damn ice child."
The Shadow Queen cursed as she broke off the ice covering her.
"Now now Shadow Queen, he's simply doing his best. No need to be angry with him."
"If you say so Peach."
"Hey Peach, you should stay here and protect the bomb."
Mario suggested.
"Okay Mario, but what will you do?"
"I'm going to fight ice with fire."
Mario said as he started to glow red and generate fire in his hands.
"I see, go get them, Mario."
Peach said with a smile. Mario took off to face Todoroki. Meanwhile, Todoroki was climbing the stair, confident that he had won. But when entered the next floor he noticed the ice was melted.
"What? How did the ice-"
Todoroki didn't finish since Mario hit him with a surprise attack. Mario had punched Todoroki in the gut with a fireball. The detonation of which, sent Todoroki flying out of the building.
"Todoroki!"
Shoji yelled as he saw his partner falling from the sky. Todoroki had recovered and made an ice slide to stop him from hitting the ground.
"What happened?"
Shoji asked. Mario then landed in front of them.
"You didn't think it would be that easy now, did you?"
Mario asked with a smile. Todoroki just gave a cold glare while rubbing the area Mario had struck.
"Shoji, go and get the bomb. I'll handle him."
Todoroki ordered. Shoji complied and ran inside.
"Where do you think-"
Mario was about to stop Shoji but was interrupted by a wall of ice.
"You should be more focused on your opponent."
Todoroki said as he sent a wave of ice at Mario. Mario saw this and launched a wave of fire to stop Todoroki's attack.
"So you have a fire quirk as well. No wonder you broke free of my ice."
"Well, Peach wasn't affected by your ice either Todoroki."
This seemed to anger Todoroki and he started to attack more ferociously. Mario was able to keep up with him in a battle of ice and fire. With Shoji, he had just entered the room where the bomb was. He carefully opened the door and saw Peach, standing in front of the bomb with her eyes closed.
"She must be listening for me. If I'm careful I should be ab-"
Shoji was interrupted from his thoughts by a tapping on his shoulder. He looked to see a pink hand waving at him.
"Wha-"
Shoji was suddenly pulled by his feet towards Peach. He was then wrapped in dozens of pink hands as the Shadow Queen revealed herself from Peach's shadow.
"Hello, Shoji."
Peach said with a smile.
"How did you do that?"
"I had the Shadow Queen create a bunch of shadow limbs and laid them around the room like a web. The second you stepped inside you were caught."
"That's a powerful technique."
"Yeah, but it takes a lot of concentration to do this. That is why I was standing still, focusing on the Shadow Queen's limbs. Now then."
Peach then wrapped Shoji's forehead in capture tape.
"Mezo Shoji is out!"
All Might said from the intercoms. Todoroki was still facing off against Mario. He got close and tried to grab Mario to freeze him solid. But Mario saw this and grasped Todoroki's hand. Todoroki tried to freeze Mario's arm, but Mario was using his fire powers to stop it. The clashing elements caused steam to come from their hands. Todoroki and Mario backed off and Mario created more fire from the same hand. But something was different, instead of red fire, it was blue.
"Creating more heat?"
Todoroki asked, but he was wrong. Mario didn't feel any heat from this fire. Deciding not to think about it, Mario launched a blue fireball at Todoroki. Todoroki covered his body with ice. Expecting to block the attack and deal a swift counterattack. But when the fireball hit him, Todoroki was encased in ice.
"What!? You have ice powers too?"
Todoroki asked in shock.
"Not that I know of."
While Mario was confused, he took the chance he had and wrapped up Todoroki in capture tape.
"The villain team wins!"
All Might yelled through the intercoms. Todoroki freed himself by melting the ice with his fire quirk. Once he was free, he gave a scornful glare to Mario. But Mario didn't notice, focusing more on the new change in his quirk. Peach and Shoji came out of the building now that All Might had called the match.
"Mario? Is something wrong?"
Peach asked, noticing Mario staring at his hands.
"A new development in his quirk. One we will be discussing in a bit. You all fought well today. That was a plus ultra performance from all of you. Now, let us go and review the battle."
All Might said as he led the four back into the observation room.
And that is the end of the chapter. Thank you for reading.
First off, yes, both classes 1-A and 1-B will have twenty-two students in this story. I didn't want to take anyone out as I believe that the interactions between Mario, Peach, Luigi, Daisy, and the other students will be hilarious. Especially with Mineta.
As for Mario's new power, Rosalina did say both he and Luigi could unlock new forms if the right conditions are met. Could this be his ticket to getting ice powers?
Once again, thank you, please feel free to leave a review, and have a nice day.
