Chapter 4: Trouble at U.A.

We return to class 1-A's combat exercise. Mario, Peach, Todoroki, and Shoji have just returned to the observation room with All Might. All Might got in front of the students and turned to face them.

"All right then, before we begin, Mario, how were you able to shoot ice powers?"

All the students turned to Mario, also curious as to how he did that.

"I wish I could tell you sir, but honestly I have no idea how I did it."

"Okay, so what did you do during the fight?"

"Well, my main focus was on Todoroki and defeating him. He tried to freeze me when we grappled with each other and I stopped him with my powers. And then when I tried to use my fire I got the blue flames instead."

"I see, can you use that blue fire again?"

Mario tried to create the blue fire, but could only make his red fire.

"No, sir, I can't."

"Very well then. We'll work on it when we get the chance. Now on to the review. The MVP of the exercise was Mario."

"I can see why he would be chosen, but why not Peach?"

Jiro asked.

"Good question young Jiro. Does anyone have any idea why?"

"Sir," Yaoyorozu started. "It's because Mario was pivotal in their victory. Mario was the one to hold back Todoroki, leaving Shoji to Peach. Because of that, Peach was able to successfully defend the bomb."

"Okay, I know Todoroki is strong, but I'm sure Peach would be able to defend the bomb from him. She was able to brush off his first attack."

Uraraka said.

"Ah, but that was when she had the Shadow Queen at full power. Behold!"

All Might pressed play on the screen. It showed Peach setting up the trap before Shoji entered the room. Everyone was watching attentively, trying to figure out what All Might meant. That is when Asui saw it.

"I see now. To make the trap Peach spread the Shadow Queen all over the floor."

"So, what does that have to do with anything?"

Kaminari asked.

"It means she's defenseless."

Bakugo answered.

"Correct young Bakugo. Normally the Shadow Queen is always by Peach, reacting to and stopping any attack that may come from her blind spots. But since the Shadow Queen was spread across the floor she couldn't defend Peach from any attacks. If it was Todoroki instead of Shoji who entered the room, he could've unleashed another strong ice attack. Freezing the Shadow Queen and leaving Peach vulnerable. But since Mario held off Todoroki, that didn't happen."

All Might explained. All the students started to clap at the explanation while Bakugo was listening attentively. Taking note of a possible weakness to exploit if he had to face off against Peach one day.

"Dang, Peach's quirk seemed invincible but it also has its drawbacks."

"All quirks do Kirishima. They're not magical abilities, they are just like the muscles in our body. They have limits and weaknesses that we must overcome."

Asui explained. Everyone nodded in understanding.

"Well said young Asui. Now onto the next battle!"

"Wait! You said one of the first teams would be fighting a second time. Who is it?"

Mina asked.

"Right, I almost forgot. Mario and Peach, since you two won the match, you choose. Do you want to fight again?"

Mario and Peach looked at each other before nodding.

"Yes sir."

Mario answered.

"Excellent. Now, the next two teams to fight, are these guys!"

All Might drew from the boxes, revealing the team of Midoriya and Uraraka to be the heroes and the team of Bakugo and Iida to be the villains. While they took off towards the combat area, Mario and Peach joined the rest of the students. Peach was then approached by a student with bird features.

"That was a most impressive display of your quirk Peach."

The bird teen complimented.

"Oh thank you. I don't think we've been introduced yet."

"Pardon my rudeness. I am Fumikage Tokoyami and my quirk is Dark Shadow. It is quite similar to your Shadow Queen."

Dark Shadow, a sentient bird-like shadow, came out of Tokoyami's cloak.

"Yeah, but I'm much cooler."

Dark Shadow smugly said.

"Aww, what a cute little birdy."

The Shadow Queen said, coming out of Peach's shadow.

"Cute!? You got some nerve to say that to me when you look like unicorn farts."

"A feisty little birdy at that. I can't wait for the day I show you true darkness."

"Dark Shadow, stop!"

"That's enough Shadow Queen. Stop antagonizing him."

Tokoyami and Peach ordered their quirks, pulling them away from each other.

"It appears your quirk is strong-willed as well Peach."

"Yes, she is Tokoyami. I think it's just a common trait for quirks like ours."

"That appears to be the case. Now, I was truly impressed by the creative way you use the Shadow Queen, and was hoping you would be willing to share some advice."

"Of course."

Peach began to discuss some of the different ideas and techniques she came up with. Meanwhile, Mario was watching the match when Kirishima walked up to him.

"Hey there dude. Just wanted to say how manly it was of you to face off with Todoroki like that."

"Oh, thanks. My name is Mario by the way."

"Ejiro Kirishima. I got to say, I thought you were done for when Todoroki froze the building. But you turned the tables and froze him instead. Talk about awesome!"

"Thanks, but that was just a coincidence. I still have no idea how I got ice powers."

"Could it be that your quirk evolved mid-fight?"

Asui asked.

"Maybe, my quirk can give me new forms if the right conditions are met."

"Any idea on how you can get the ice powers again?"

"Hmm, maybe if I spar with Todoroki some more."

Mario looked over at Todoroki. Todoroki just gave a hateful glare back and turned away.

"Though, that might not be possible."

"Oh, man! Look at that!"

Kaminari said, drawing everyone's attention back to the battle. Bakugo had cornered Midoriya while Iida was keeping the bomb away from Uraraka with his impressive speed.

"What is Bakugo's problem? He seems to have something against Midoriya."

"Yeah, it does. I wonder what it is?"

Sero, a boy who shoots tape from his elbows, asked.

"It's because Bakugo has bullied Midoriya since they were kids."

Mario answered.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"How do you know?"

"Because Asui, Midoriya told me himself."

"I see, and call me Tsu."

"Right, you see, Midoriya is a late bloomer. He didn't get his quirk until recently."

"That would explain why he's having so much trouble controlling it. But why would he tell you this?"

"Because Midoriya was the first friend I made when I moved here from Brooklyn. We've talked about a lot of things since then."

"Oh, that makes sense."

"Yep, and he's told that since he grew up quirkless he's been picked on because of it. Especially by Bakugo."

"Why would Bakugo do something like that? That is so not manly."

"Because he has a superiority complex Kirishima. He's constantly been told by his fellow students that he is great because of his quirk. Meanwhile, those same students made fun of Midoriya for not having a quirk. And because of that, Bakugo has developed a worldview where he's the best. And ever since coming to U.A. that worldview has been crumbling."

"Really?"

"Yes, think about it. Four other students got better scores than him on the entrance exam. Then during the quirk evaluation tests yesterday his final ranking was fifth among all the students. And now Midoriya, the kid Bakugo picked on because he was quirkless, has a quirk and is standing up to him. Bakugo is desperately trying to hold onto that last thing supporting his worldview."

"You mean Midoriya?"

"Yes Tsu, specifically, the fact that Midoriya is weaker than him."

"Man, while I sympathize with Bakugo having his beliefs shattered, it's still no reason to take it out on Midoriya."

"I agree Kirishima."

Mario said while watching the fight. Bakugo was making it clear that he wanted to show Midoriya how weak he was. But Midoriya would not give up. In the final moments, Midoriya managed to pull off a win by using his quirk to create a small whirlwind. The force of which went through the upper floors of the building and gave Uraraka the chance she needed to get the bomb.

"The hero team wins!"

All Might yelled through the intercoms. Most of class 1-A celebrated Midoriya and Uraraka's victory. Bakugo, on the other hand, looked as though he was on the verge of a panic attack. Luckily, All Might was there to stop him.

"Cool your jets young Bakugo. You can still grow from defeat if you are willing to learn. Now, let's go review the battle."

All Might said to Bakugo, causing him to calm down. He then brought Bakugo, Iida, and Uraraka back to the observation room. But Midoriya had injured himself, again, and was taken to the nurse's office. After the battle was reviewed and Iida named the MVP, with Yaoyorozu explaining why to everyone, the rest of the battles continued. Finally, we get to the last fight.

"All right then! Mario and Peach, since you were the villains in your last fight you will be the heroes in this match. Hagakure and Ojiro, that means you are the villains."

The four students nodded in understanding.

"Good, now you all know the rules already. So villain team enter!"

All Might ordered. Toru Hagakure, a girl whose quirk makes her invisible, and Mashirao Ojiro entered the building to prepare. Mario and Peach studied the blueprints while waiting for their time to enter. Inside the building, Hagakure and Ojiro found the bomb.

"We've located the bomb. Now, have any ideas on how we're going to win?"

Ojiro asked nervously.

"You sound like we've already lost."

Hagakure angrily replied.

"We're facing the team that beat Todoroki, the guy that froze the whole building like nothing. Yeah, I don't think we can win."

"Not with that attitude! Look, you stay here and guard the bomb while I go and get the drop on them."

Hagakure said while taking off her costume.

"I don't think that'll work, but it's the best we got. Let's go for it!"

Ojiro said with renewed confidence. Outside Mario and Peach had just finished coming up with their plan.

"Hero team enter!"

With All Might's order, Mario and Peach went inside.

"So Mario, besides being invisible, does Hagakure have any other tricks?"

"Not that she's shown. Back during the quirk evaluation test the only one beneath her was Midoriya. So she has average physical abilities."

"So we don't have anything to worry about from her then."

"Don't underestimate her, Peach. She can take us by surprise with one good hit and wrap us up in capture tape before we know it."

"Right, so we shouldn't let our guard down."

As they were climbing the stairs, Peach's ears perked up.

"Mario, over there."

Peach said, pointing towards a room with a door that was slightly opened. They went to check it out, while Peach was examining the room Mario was watching their back. Having found nothing, Peach and Mario kept on going. But then, a smile formed on Peach's face.

"Found you."

Peach said as a bunch of pink shadow arms came from the spot Mario and Peach were just at. They wrapped around someone there.

"What!? How!?"

Hagakure yelled as she struggled against the arms.

"I left the Shadow Queen in there, just in case you came out after we left."

Peach explained as the Shadow Queen came out from the shadow beneath Hagakure.

"She can separate from you?"

"As long as she's attached to my shadow she can travel a great distance away."

"As long as she's attached to your shadow? Wait, I get it. That's why she's called the Shadow Queen."

"That is just one of many reasons."

Peach thought, remembering how powerful the Shadow Queen was with her full power. Back in the observation room.

"Dude, her quirk is amazing. Being able to leave the Shadow Queen behind like that, setting a trap. Talk about a powerful quirk."

Sato, a boy who gets stronger by consuming sugar, said in admiration.

"True, but it did reveal another weakness of the Shadow Queen."

Asui said, getting everyone's attention.

"It's the shadow. If Hagakure had looked down instead of focusing on Peach, then she would have evaded capture. If you remember the video of her first fight, when Shoji entered the room most of the floor was covered in shadow. Even though there was light coming from the windows."

"I see, so if we notice a shadow coming from her towards us, then we should be able to evade the Shadow Queen."

"Correct Sato, but Peach is still able to move, even if the Shadow Queen is doing her own thing."

"Then it's kind of like fighting two people at once. Ugh, even learning about her quirk's drawbacks, it's still too strong."

Mina Ashido, a girl with pink skin whose power is to secrete acid from her pores, complained.

"Yeah, and Peach herself is no joke. I saw her tear apart robots left and right with those claws."

Sato said while turning his attention back to the fight. Mario had left to find Ojiro and the bomb while Peach stayed with Hagakure after wrapping her with capture tape.

"Hang on, why isn't Peach going with Mario?"

"Because she's treating this like a real combat situation."

Yaoyorozu said to Jiro.

"Think about it. If this was real, you wouldn't leave a villain after knocking them out. You would wait for the proper authorities or hero backup to secure them."

"Oh, that explains it."

"So it's Ojiro versus Mario now. Yeah, Mario's got this."

"Whoa, Sero! Don't go underestimating Ojiro like that."

Kaminari said, offended that Ojiro was being brushed off like nothing.

"No offense to Ojiro, his tail quirk is pretty strong. But Mario fought against Todoroki and won. I don't see any way Ojiro can win this fight."

"I guess you're right, but that was still mean to say."

Kaminari said in defeat. Back at the fight, Mario had just entered the room to confront Ojiro.

"I have to admit, I don't think I have a chance here. But that doesn't mean I'll just give up."

Ojiro said as he got into a fighting stance. Mario nodded and transformed into his raccoon form.

"Well said Ojiro. So why don't we settle this tail to tail."

Ojiro nodded at this suggestion and rushed Mario. They traded fists for a while before Ojiro swung his tail at Mario. Mario reciprocated the action and struck back with his tail. Despite Mario's tail being smaller, he was able to knock back Ojiro's tail.

"How much power can you put into that tail, Mario?"

Ojiro asked in shock, but not deterred. Ojiro began to take advantage of his longer reach and struck with consecutive tail strikes that left him just out of Mario's reach. The momentum of each strike added to the next one, making it stronger. Mario was constantly backing up until he did a backflip to escape. Ojiro charged to the spot Mario was going to land.

"I got you now. Tail Smash!"

Ojiro yelled as he did a front flip to slam his tail on Mario. But when he looked, Mario was gone.

"What the?"

"Up here."

Ojiro looked up and saw Mario hovering with his tail. Before Ojiro could process what he was seeing, Mario landed on top of him, pinning him to the ground. Mario then wrapped up Ojiro in capture tape.

"The hero team wins!"

All Might yelled through the intercoms. Class 1-A just stared in awe.

"Mario can fly!?"

Kaminari said in shock.

"That's right. That's how he rescued Midoriya at the entrance exams."

Iida confirmed.

"Man, Mario and Peach are just too strong!"

Mineta, a boy with purple balls growing from his head, yelled.

After everyone was gathered back in the observation room, it was determined that Mario and Peach were both MVPs for that match. After that, All Might led everyone back to the entrance to the school before turning to them.

"Well done everyone, you all performed admirably. And for those of you who lost, don't let your failures weigh you down. Instead, use them to build yourselves into better heroes. Now watch how a hero exits. LIKE HE HAS SOMEWHERE TO BE!"

All Might yelled as he ran towards the school.

"Wow, look at him go. Just like a hero."

Kirishima said, back with All Might. He had just entered the teacher's lounge when steam started to come off of him. Suddenly he shrunk down into his skinny state while coughing up blood.

"Damn it! Some hero I am if I can barely last long enough to teach a class. I'm sorry young Midoriya, but we'll have to speed up your training."

Later on, after the school day ended, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy were walking home. That is when Mario noticed Midoriya by the entrance.

"Hey, Midoriya."

Mario called out.

"Huh? Oh, hey Mario."

"What's wrong?"

"I'm just waiting for Kacchan."

"Bakugo? Look Midoriya, you don't have to be afraid of him anymore."

"I know Mario, it's just something I have to discuss with him."

"Okay, but if he does anything let me know. You are not alone anymore Midoriya. You have friends who will stand by you now."

Mario gestured to him, Luigi, Peach, and Daisy.

"I know Mario, and I'm grateful for your support. But, I just have to do this okay."

"Okay, Midoriya. See you tomorrow."

Mario said as he and the others left for home.

The next day

As the students tried to enter U.A., they were stopped by the press who gathered at the entrance. Many of the students were bombarded with questions. As Mario and Luigi tried to get in, a news reporter rushed up to them.

"Hello there, I was hoping you two would be able to answer some questions about your classes at U.A.. Tell me, how is it having All Might as a teacher?"

The reporter asked.

"It's great. When he taught our class yesterday I could feel the charisma in his words. And it made me want to try even harder."

Mario answered.

"Great, and what about you? How do you feel about having All Might as a teacher?"

"Oh, well I haven't had a class with him yet. But from what my brother told me, he's a great teacher. I can't wait for him to teach my class."

"Wonderful answers boys. Thank you for your cooperation."

That is when Peach and Daisy arrived with Toadsworth. Some of the reporters tried to interview them, but Toadsworth held them back.

"Back! Get back I say! Go girls, I'll hold them back!"

Toadsworth said to Peach and Daisy. With a grateful nod, they went inside with the opening Toadsworth had given them.

"What was that for?"

A reporter asked.

"Protecting my charges from you parasites. Now get away from the car. Move it!"

Toadsworth yelled at the reporters as he got back in and drove away.

As the reporters were looking for more students to interview, Aizawa came out to address the press.

"All right, that's enough questions from the vultures. Get inside, I'll be there shortly."

"Yes sir."

Mario said as he, Luigi, and the rest of the students went inside. Aizawa then turned to face the press.

"Please stop pestering our students with pointless questions."

"Pointless!"

One reporter yelled in shock. After regaining her composure, she marched up to Aizawa.

"Listen here buster, it's the press's job to discover the truth for the public. And the public has a right to know how All Might teaches his students.

"Look, we here at U.A. are doing everything we can to mold our students into proper heroes. And I can guarantee you that every student here has great potential. As for All Might, he's not here right now. Now, if that is all, please vacate the premises and have a nice day."

Aizawa said as he turned and went back into U.A..

"That jerk! Fine, if All Might won't come out, I'll go in there and find him myself."

"Wait!"

The cameraman tried to warn his coworker. Suddenly a large metal wall came up and cut off the reporter.

"What the?"

"It's the U.A. security system. You can't get in unless you have a pass or someone inside lets you in."

"Those jerks! They can't do that to us. We have a right to know how All Might is adjusting to being a teacher!"

The reporter yelled to her fellow news teams, trying to rally them up. While she was doing this, someone was watching them from a nearby alley.

Back inside U.A.. Class 1-A was chatting amongst themselves, waiting for Aizawa.

"Alright, settle down!"

Aizawa ordered as he entered the room. All of the class sat quietly at their desks within a second.

"Good, now then, you all have an important job today."

"What!? Is it another quirk evaluation test? Is someone going to be expelled?"

Most of the students thought.

"It's time to choose your class representative."

"What, that's just normal school stuff."

Mina said with relief. Aizawa glared at her, causing her to sit and be quiet out of fear.

"Let's not waste any more time than needed on this. Here, take one of these papers and pass the rest back."

Aizawa ordered, handing a stack of papers to the front student of each row.

"Write the name of the person you would like to be your representative."

"But sir, won't everyone just vote for themselves?"

Jiro asked in concern.

"If that turns out to be the case then I will choose the class representative. Understood?"

"Yes sir."

The students wrote down their votes and handed them in. After tallying up the votes, Peach had the most with Mario having the second most votes.

"Should've seen that coming."

Jiro said.

"Well, they did do the best during the combat exercises yesterday. But I wonder, why did Peach get more votes than Mario?"

Kirishima asked.

"I just get that vibe from her. You know, that she would be great at leading the class."

Sato answered.

"Yeah, I do get that same feeling from her."

"Alright, that's enough! Peach, since you got the most votes, you're the class representative. Mario, since you got the second most votes, you're the vice representative. Now get up here and address the class."

Mario and Peach got up and went to the front of the class. Peach took the podium to address them.

"Thank you all for your faith in me. I will do my best and hope that I can meet your expectations. Now let us tackle the day with enthusiasm. Let us go beyond."

"Plus ultra!"

The class responded.

"It's like she's done this before."

Aizawa thought to himself.

Later that day at lunch. Mario was sitting with Peach, Luigi, Daisy, Midoriya, Iida, and Uraraka. While they were eating someone came up to them.

"Hello there."

Mario said to the student. It was a girl with blond hair and horns. She seemed to be shy and stood there, unsure of what to say.

"You can sit with us Pony. He's my brother and these are our friends."

Luigi said, beckoning Pony to an empty chair. Pony's face lit up and she took the empty seat.

"So, who's your new friend bro?

Mario asked.

"Her name is Pony Tsunotory and she's a friend from my class."

"I see, my name is Mario Mario, nice to meet you."

Mario greeted in Japanese. Pony just gave a weak smile back.

"She's from America, just like us. She learning Japanese but is not quite fluent yet."

Luigi clarified.

"Oh, then would it be better if we spoke in English?"

"Yes, that would be great. Now I don't feel completely out of place."

Pony answered with a genuine smile. The group continued to mingle with Pony introducing herself to Midoriya and the others. Just then, the alarms went off, signaling that the school was breached. Most of the students panicked, believing a villain had found a way inside U.A.. While trying to evacuate, Mario and his friends found themselves being crushed by the panicking students. While trying to not be crushed, Peach looked towards the window and saw what had caused the alarm to go off.

"Alright, I've had enough of this. Let's put an end to it, Daisy."

Daisy looked towards Peach with confusion but saw what she saw.

"Right."

Daisy replied. Peach then used the Shadow Queen to give her and Daisy some breathing room and leaped to the top of the doorway.

"THAT'S ENOUGH! NOW EVERYONE CALM DOWN!"

Peach and Daisy yelled, getting everyone's attention.

"Just look outside. It's only the press."

Peach said gesturing to the windows. Everyone looked to see that she was right.

"It doesn't matter if you're in the hero course, general studies, support course, or whatever. You're still students of U.A., so stop disgracing yourselves and the school by acting like chickens with their heads cut off!"

Daisy yelled. After hearing them both all of the students calmed down and began to relax.

"That's better."

Peach said as she got back down to the ground with Daisy. Soon after, the police showed up and escorted all of the press off of U.A. grounds. Later on in class, all of Class 1-A were talking about how Peach and Daisy took control of the situation during the press invasion. After classes had ended, everyone was happy to go home after the exhausting day they had. However, Mario was deep in thought.

"Mario?"

"Hmm? What's up, Luigi?"

"You've been quiet all this time. Is there something on your mind?"

"As a matter of fact, yes. It's the press, Luigi."

"What about them?"

"How did they get into U.A.? The security measures should have prevented them from setting foot on U.A. grounds."

"I don't know, maybe a glitch in the system?"

"I don't think so bro, I'm sure someone let them in."

"What! But who?"

"Don't know, but whoever did it had one goal in mind. Getting into U.A.."

"What!?"

"Yeah, think about it. The press gets in, then the alarms go off. Some of the teachers have to deal with the press, preventing them from getting in. The rest are dealing with panicking students. The perfect chance for the perpetrator to get in unnoticed."

"But why?"

"Hmm, if I had to guess, to get information. Kidnapping someone during the chaos would be difficult as everyone would be bunched together. U.A. does have some impressive tech, but nothing worth the risk and nothing that you couldn't get elsewhere. So information would make the most sense."

"But information on what?"

"Not what, who. All Might."

Luigi's eyes went wide upon hearing this.

"Just like how he brought the press here, he could've brought unwanted attention from the wrong people. He's the number one hero after all. And now that he's a teacher, he has a set schedule. A schedule that could be learned if you know where to look."

"Oh man, well what are we supposed to do about it Mario?"

"Just be ready Luigi. Keep your guard up and expect anything to happen during your classes."

"Got it."

Mario and Luigi continued on their way home. Once they got there, they made sure to call Peach and Daisy to share their thoughts and make sure the girls stay on guard as well.

The next day

Class 1-A was outside the school, boarding a bus that would take them to rescue exercises. Everyone was in their hero outfits except for Midoriya, who was in a gym uniform.

"Hey, Midoriya. Why aren't you wearing your hero outfit?"

Uraraka asked.

"Oh, it got destroyed during combat exercises. The support department is fixing it but until they're done I have to wear the gym outfit."

"I see."

"Okay, everyone!"

Peach called out.

"Form a line and board the bus. Come on, follow the leader."

Peach ordered as she took the lead at the front of the line.

"Glad to see she's taking this seriously."

"Yeah, but not too seriously."

Uraraka and Midoriya said. Later on, on the bus, everyone was chatting with each other when Asui turned to Midoriya.

"Hey, Midoriya, can I ask you a question?"

"Huh, sure. What is it, Asui?"

"Please call me Tsu."

"Oh, okay then. So what's up, Tsu?"

"It's about your power. Isn't it a lot like All Might's?"

"Whoa, hang on there, Tsu." Kaminari interrupted. "You forget that All Might doesn't hurt himself when he throws a punch. That makes a huge difference."

"I guess you're right."

"Still, your power is awesome and will help you be popular. Unlike my quirk."

Kirishima said while turning his arm hard.

"All My quirk does is make my skin hard. Not flashy or noticeable at all."

"That's not true Kirishima. I think your quirk is amazing."

"Really? Thanks, man."

"If we're talking about people who won't be popular, then Bakugo definitely won't be. He doesn't have a heroic personality."

"What was that? I'll kill you frog face!"

Bakugo yelled.

"See what I mean?"

"You know, we've only known you for a few days, but it's very telling that we know your personality is hot garbage already."

"What!? I'll kill you too sparky!"

Bakugo yelled at Kaminari. While Midoriya was there, dumbfounded, that Bakugo was being picked on instead of him. He noticed that Mario was deep in thought.

"Mario?"

"Huh? Oh, what's up Midoriya?"

"Just wondering what you're thinking about."

"Oh, well, maybe you can answer a question for me. Do you know if All Might is teaching this class?"

"Um, I don't know. Is there a reason why you want to know?"

"I'm just afraid that another incident like yesterday will happen again."

"Oh, what's wrong? Is the red-capped foreigner afraid of the press?"

Bakugo taunted.

"I wish it was just the press."

Mario said ominously. All the students were taken aback by this.

"Look, don't think too hard about it. Just, be ready for anything."

Mario warned. Aizawa took notice of this as Mario was right. All Might was supposed to help teach the class today.

"Is it just good instincts, or is there something more to him?"

Aizawa thought as he did not expect this level of foresight from a student. Taking Mario's words to heart, Aizawa sent a text to Nezu. The text said that if there was no contact from him in the next twenty minutes, to assume the worst has happened and send help. Ten minutes later and they arrived at the USJ. As they walked in, Uraraka's face lit up with excitement.

"Oh my gosh! Look, it's the rescue hero Thirteen!"

Uraraka said, pointing to a hero who was wearing a spacesuit.

"Hello, students."

She greeted.

"Alright class, Thirteen will help with rescue exercises along with, wait. Where's All Might?"

Aizawa asked.

"About that."

Thirteen did hand signals to show that All Might had reached his time limit for the day and would not be able to help teach the class. Aizawa just let out an exasperated sigh and turned to the class.

"Okay class, so All Might was supposed to help with rescue exercises, but he is currently preoccupied and will not be here today."

"I knew it."

Mario said to himself. Aizawa heard this and remembered Mario's earlier words.

"Still, we will be continuing with rescue training. Thirteen."

Aizawa gestured for Thirteen to take over.

"Good day, students. As you may know, I am the rescue hero Thirteen and my quirk is black hole. I use it to destroy hazardous debris and save people, but my quirk could easily be used to kill. Your quirk evaluation tests showed you how far you can push your quirks and the combat exercises showed you how dangerous they could be to others. I came up with this building to train students in various disaster simulations. I call it, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, but you can call it the USJ!"

Thirteen explained. The class gave her applause for her explanation.

"Alright then, let's start with..."

Aizawa didn't finish as the lights began to flicker on and off. Suddenly, a large portal made of black mist opened up in the center of the USJ and hundreds of villains started to come through. As the last of them came out, a gray-haired teen with dead hands on him stood in the center, along with a large birdman with black skin and an exposed brain. As the portal shrank, it took on a humanoid form and stood next to the teen.

"Kurogiri, the schedule said that All Might was supposed to be here, right? But I don't see him."

The gray-haired teen said to the mist man

"Perhaps there was a last-minute change Tomura."

The mist man replied.

"Aww, and after I went through the trouble of finding all these playmates who are dying to meet him. Oh well, maybe if we kill a few kids he'll show up."

Back with class 1-A.

"Sir, what's going on?"

Kaminari asked.

"Is this..."

"Stop! This isn't an exercise. Those are real villains."

Aizawa said. All of the students were shocked at this.

"What!? What are real villains doing here?"

Mineta said in fear.

"And why aren't the alarms working?"

Yaoyorozu asked.

"Good question. Thirteen, can you get in touch with the main building?"

"No good Aizawa. There must be a villain with a signal-jamming quirk."

"Maybe electronic signals, but not "our" signal."

Mario thought. Just like in his world, he and Luigi have a psychic connection. One that lets them know where the other brother is or if they are in danger. Mario focused on this psychic connection.

"Luigi."

In training field beta

Class 1-B was conducting combat exercises as Class 1-A did. Luigi and Daisy were with the rest of the students, waiting for their turn. Daisy's outfit was greatly inspired by the rabbit hero Mirko. She wore a sleeveless, bright orange leotard with dark orange trim around her shoulders and waist. In the center of her chest was a daisy and she also wore gauntlets and footwear designed to gather and store the energy she generated, so she could unleash powerful punches and kicks. She also wore a belt that was designed to regulate the energy, so she could send it to the right limb.

Luigi's outfit was similar to Mario's. But green instead of red and the buckle has the letter L in it as well. Luigi was watching the current match when he suddenly felt something. He felt the psychic bond he shared with his brother telling him that Mario was in trouble. Luigi walked up to his teacher, Sekijiro Kan, also known as the blood hero Vlad King.

"Excuse me, Kan sir. What is Class 1-A doing today?"

"There conducting rescue exercises at the USJ today. Why are you asking?"

"Can you try and contact them, please? I believe something bad is happening to them."

Vlad turned to Midnight, who was helping him with combat exercises today.

"Why would you think that?"

Midnight asked.

"It's a side effect of our quirk, but I share a psychic connection with my brother, Mario. It lets us know where the other is and if they are in danger."

Both Vlad and Midnight were shocked by this, as it wasn't written down in either brother's quirk description. Deciding it's best not to question it, Vlad tried to call Aizawa. But he couldn't get through to him.

"I can't reach Aizawa."

"Let me try Thirteen."

Midnight tried to call Thirteen but got the same result.

"No good."

"Try the main line at the USJ."

Midnight tried that too, but still nothing.

"It's no good Vlad. It's as if they are cut off."

"Their signal is being jammed more than likely. I'll call Nezu and let him know."

"Right."

Midnight went up to the intercoms.

"I'm sorry kids, but we'll have to cut combat exercises short for today due to an emergency."

Midnight then turned to Luigi.

"Luigi, why didn't you put this psychic connection with your brother in your quirk description?"

"We kind of forgot about it when we filled out the forms. We haven't used it since middle school."

"I see we'll have to update your quirk forms then. Good job, by the way, you and your brother may have just saved Class 1-A."

And that's the end of the chapter, thank you all for reading. So help is going to arrive much sooner thanks to the Mario Brothers. And for those wondering, this psychic connection between Mario and Luigi was shown in Yoshi's Island. Once again thank you, feel free to leave a review, and have a nice day.
