Hello, I am going to take a bit of a break from this story. I will continue it I swear. I am having a hard time writing the story right now. I am also having a hard time planning where this story will go. I am working on other stories and have a lot that I am either planning out or remastering from the original form I made of them. I hope you enjoy Chapter 12 and please if you have any suggestions feel free to leave them. This is posted on 2 different platforms ( and Ao3/Archive of Our Own), I intend to make a list at the end of this story that lists out the people's username on the platform they left the suggestion along with what the suggestion was.
Leia stares at Anakin, what is he saying? He sounds insane.
"That is why I am asking you, I am aware of how wise you are," Anakin says leaving Leia even more confused.
At the moment she was about to answer everything shifts around them again, making her need to regain her composure slightly. She decides now to ask what she was going to before, "how am I supposed to know that? I don't even know who you are! I don't understand anything at this point." She finishes her statement then looks around attempting to locate where they are now. A planet full of fire surrounds them, a silver glisten in the sky catching her eye as she looks around. A ship, covered in a glossy silver metal and appears to be Nubian in origin.
"Only you can know because it is your decision to make."
"Can you please just tell me one thing?"
"Depends on what you want me to tell you."
"Are you my biological father?"
"Yes, I am. I wish you could have better than me, you deserve better."
The ship gets closer and lands on the platform that she is standing on next to Anakin. The ship ramp lowers to reveal the women running down the ramp and to another version of Anakin's arms.
"If that's true then is that my mother," Leia questions the version of her father who has been with her in this vision, deciding to brush off the last part of his statement for now.
"Yes, she is."
She looks away from her father completely now, unable to look him in the face. simply wanting a distraction looking on at the events before her gain that distraction.
"I am sorry, truly."
"Why are you sorry? Is it because I never knew you," she felt rage building in her now. The rage builds as the realization that she must have been abandoned as a child and that her parents did not die.
"You will learn with time, Leia. But please know I never meant for you to be left without me. Had I known you survived, I would have stopped at nothing to find you." His voice sounds broken as he speaks to her, doing his best not to break into sobs once more.
"What do you mean? What do you think happened to me?"
"That is a long story and I do not believe we have the time for it right now," his voice slowly fades away as he does.
Anakin returns from the vision still in his meditation chamber. Reaching out with the Force attempting to regain himself, he feels Luke's concern as he does so. The bond the two already shared was strong even with the short time for it to have formed. Luke obviously felt the large waves of distress through their bond and was worried that something horrible may have happened. Gently Anakin reaches for Luke in the bond to assure him that everything was alright and that there was nothing to worry about.
Once he had calmed Luke down he reaches out to Leia, his daughter. He feels an immense dread radiating from her. Ever so gently he embraces her with the Force to calm her. The dread in her only grew, fear starts to fill her as well. He questions why he was pulled out of the vision with her, why he is not there to calm her in that nightmare. Sighing internally he exits the chamber and starts heading to the location of Leia's cell, he had done horrible things to her and she deserves to get medical treatment. He could never be forgiven for what he has done to her, even if she forgives him, he will never forgive himself.
Leia is now left alone to watch the events of the past unfold. The fiery scene around her still is different than when she last paid complete attention to it. The woman, her mother as she now knows is stepping away from her father shaking slightly.
"Anakin, please stop," her mother says quietly. "I don't- I can't believe what I am hearing. Obi-wan was right. You've changed."
"I don't want to hear any more about Obi-wan. The Jedi turned against me. Don't you turn against me," Anakin replies coldly.
She knew that her parents knew Obi-wan but not anywhere near the full extent. It would make sense that her father was a Jedi and that is how he knew Obi-wan. But, what he was saying sounded ridiculous.
"I don't know you anymore. You're breaking my heart, Anakin. You're going down a path I can't follow."
"Because of Obi-wan?"
"Because of what you've done. What you plan to do. Stop. Anakin, please stop. Stop now. Come back. I love you."
"Liar!"
"Padmé. Move away from him," a voice rings out.
Leia sees a man atop the ramp of the silver ship that appears to be Obi-wan.
"Obi-wan?" Her mother whirls around to see the man on the ramp, still and sad. "No!"
"You," a growl emits from her father as he speaks. "You brought him here…"
Leia looks at her father in shock and disbelief as to what he was saying.
"Anakin?" A soft gentle squeak comes from her mother.
"Padmé, move away," Obi-wan says with an urgency that is so desperate it is terrifying. "He's not who you think he is. He will harm you."
Her father sneers out, "I would thank you for this. If it were a gift of love. But, you brought him here to kill me."
"No, Anakin. No," her mother says trembling, the panic in her mother's voice causing Leia to tremble as well.
"Palpatine was right. Sometimes it is the closest you cannot see. I loved you too much, Padmé. I loved you too much to see who- what you actually are."
Leia stares in horror as her father's gloved hand raises and chokes her mother with the Force. The scene reminds her of Vader and his atrocities to the galaxy. She shakes that thought away as her mother falls to the ground. She hardly registered the pleas from Obi-wan about letting her mother go. The scene shifts rapidly as if reversing time, leaving her in a room that appears to be on Coruscant.
The room Leia is in now overlooks the cityscape and the racing traffic.
"Don't," a voice says one she is able to identify as her fathers. "I need him." taking in the events in front of her completely she sees her father next to a man raising a lightsaber preparing to move in a downward motion, directed at another man laying on the floor. "NO!" Her father yells, igniting his lightsaber and cutting off the other man's hand. A string of lightning now shocks the dismembered man and he falls out the broken window. Leia's father steps back, dropping the lightsaber in his hand.
"What have I done," he cries out in anguish.
"You are fulfilling your destiny, Anakin," another voice rings out, the voice from the man on the ground.
Leia stares in shock at the scene before her. The man stands and approaches her father.
"Become my apprentice. Learn to use the dark side of the Force," the man says.
Leia's father falls to his knees and says, "I will do anything you ask. Just help me save Padmé's life. I can't live without her."
"To cheat death is a power only one has achieved. But if we work together, I know we can discover the secret."
"I pledge myself, to your teachings, Master."
"Good. Henceforth you shall be known as… Darth… Vader."
Leia stares in horror and in shock tears in her eyes that she refused to let fall. Her father is Darth Vader, the second in command of the Empire. The man who tortured her and who has caused not only her and her friends pain but the entire galaxy. Again, everything shifts seemingly moving forward in time, she is back in the place full of fire.
Just so all of you are aware I am going to post the original version of this story on both platforms. On Archive of Our Own, I will be posting a separate fic as well that is a list of current stories and planned stories. If you wish you can look at the list and suggest what I do next.
