Sister fanfic: A Grand Order of Heroes(FeHxFGO)

The blue light dimmed down and the sight of a clean gray-white room was what greeted Lucina's eyes.

Then, immediately after, she felt the temperature change. It was warmer than the altar where she was summoned.

"Exo-Summoning sequence successful. Registering a new user…. Confirmed."

Lucina was caught off guard by the random disembodied voice echoing in this sparse summoning room.

"Base Sequence: Human Genome confirmed.

Alignment: Lawful Good.

Welcome to the data center of the future of mankind. This is the Security Organization for the preservation of humanity, Chaldea."

"Ah yes thank you. My name is Lucina from the World of Awakening. May I have the honor of knowing who I am speaking to?" Lucina was trying her best to identify where the voice came from. She knew it wasn't telepathy, it felt more like the voice was coming from everywhere at once.

"Fingerprint, Voiceprint, and DNA Sequence were added to the user database.

Designation: [Lucina] added to the list of registered exo-human summons under [World of Awakening].

You are recognized as a member of the primates.

Nice to meet you."

Lucina lifted a brow, thinking that whoever this woman was would get along well with Laurent and Miriel.

"Well met then mysterious voice. While I cannot see you, I thank you for your hospitality." Lucina said as her eyes scanned the strange ceiling, still trying to locate the source of the feminine voice.

She heard a soft chuckle to her left.

Lucina jumped when she realized she had neglected to notice someone besides the disembodied voice in the room.

He seemed apologetic, "sorry about that, I do not mean to offend but seeing everyone's reactions to our facility's voice never ceases to get old. Do not worry, the voice isn't truly a person but merely a machine."

Her eyes widened at the information, "a machine?"

The young man nodded his head, "our world has managed to create fake voices that can read any form of written word for us and for simulating people doing tasks for us. In her case, she is here for official reasons, our gatekeeper if you will."

"Ah. I see." Lucina didn't understand how a machine could possibly emulate a human in any capacity, especially with a task as important as gatekeeping.

Then again, different worlds, different rules, this place seemed much more advanced in technology than hers by an indescribable amount of years. They were in an enclosed room with no torches, yet they still had light coming from the strange squares up in the ceiling, which definitely were not skylights since she would have been able to see outside if they were so.

Everything about this world was fantastical and foreign, so she decided just to accept the machine gatekeeper for what it was, as it would only distract her from her mission. Still, she felt a bit flustered that she must have seemed like a fool talking to something that wasn't actually a person.

The black-haired young man smiled at her, "Fujimaru Ritsuka, but you can call me Gudao. It's a pleasure to work with you, Ms. Lucina."

Lucina gazed towards the man or more specifically her new commander for the mission she has agreed to.

"The pleasure is mine. As you know, my name is Lucina and I am here to lend you my aid. "

Lucina and Gudao shook hands."Now, I'm sure you were given a brief explanation of what we do here in Chaldea but let me just give you a rundown."

Gudao proceeded to explain the situation to Lucina in a way that sounded rehearsed. Almost as if he had said it hundreds of times.

Solomon incinerated all of humanity from this world, Earth so that he could use it as fuel for his ritual. Chaldea had no idea what he needed that energy for yet. The ritual of this spell manifested as 'singularities' during critical moments in human history. Each of those singularities was assigned a holy grail to handle the magical energy.

So far, Chaldea has conquered four singularities, and there are three more before they could undo the incineration.

Despite how simple he explained it. Lucina could not help but feel a bit intimidated. She was used to time travel and changing fate, but this is the first time she has seen it being organized and used on a massive scale so casually without the help of a divine dragon.

Lucina notes the freezing winter outside the facility. She stops in her tracks and takes in the view. It was surprisingly dark outside despite the fact that it was high noon in view was something that reminded her heavily of Regna Ferox, and it honestly astounded her that this place could keep the harsh winter winds away to such a degree you could barely hear the whistling sounds of winter. 'Different world, different rules.' She chanted in her head.

"Miss Lucina, something wrong?"

She shook her head, "no. It is nothing. Please, let us continue."

"Very well, for now, that is the current situation. These are your quarters, take a moment to rest and we will call you over when we ray shift over to Fuyuki for a bit of material gathering."

Lucina nodded, "understood."

With that, Gudao opened her door and was met by a woman with green hair sitting on a couch.

"Greetings Gudao. Ah, so I see you brought our new roommate."

"Hello Lyn, and yes, this is Lucina. She is going to join us in our missions.

Lyn stood, "hello, I am Lyndis from the World of Blazing, but you may call me Lyn."

"It's an honor to meet you, Lady Lyn. I am Lucina from the World of Awakening. Pleased to make your acquaintance."

"Ooo, is that a new roomie I hear?!" A figure walked into the room, when everyone turned to see who it was, they were met with a white-haired woman with red eyes looking at Lucina with excitement. She seemed to have come out of the shower recently because she was only wearing a towel.

Gudao coughed into his fist, which caused the girl to jump a bit in fear.

"Aaah! F-F-Fujimaru?!" She said, as she hastily retreated back into the hallway, away from the sole male presence in the room. The woman peeked her head back into the room, her cheeks dusted with a deep crimson color, and said, "W-W-What are you doing here?!"

"Um... I just wanted to show you your new roommate for the near future… but I see we came at a bad time."

Lucina nodded in agreement with Gudao. She could not help but share in the embarrassment Gudao was experiencing.

"I am sure Lady Corrin would be pleased to welcome you... but perhaps you should leave and drop by at a later moment. She needs time to dress." Lyn said with a defeated sigh, her face telling both Lucina and Gudao that she had grown used to Corrin's behavior.

"No wait, just wait here! I will be done in a second!" The girl scurried off into the hallway and the sound of a door opening and closing made Lucina assume she had gone into the washroom.

She left Lady Lyn, Gudao, and herself standing awkwardly for a few minutes before Gudao was suddenly called over by someone else.

"Sorry, duty calls. I'll be sure to contact you when we go."

Gudao left, leaving Lucina alone to wait for the white-haired woman. She came back out 5 minutes later wearing short blue leggings and a black shirt.

"Ahahaha, sorry about that. I didn't know you were coming this early. Let's start over, my name is Corrin from the World of Fates. "

"Very well, I am Lucina from the world of Awakening and as Gudao stated, I will be your roommate."

"Speaking of Fujimaru, where is he? He was here a second ago?" She seemed a bit disappointed that he was not around.

"He had other priorities," Lyn said.

"... Oh."Corrin hung her head slightly for a moment before some newfound energy reanimated her spirits, "In any case, welcome to our room! Before you get settled in, I have to show you how some of the technology in this world, or more specifically the bathroom, works. Trust me, you're going to want to know how it works if you don't want any unexpected surprises…. Well, any more unexpected surprises, as I am sure you are aware of."

Lucina understood what she meant, it would seem being surprised by the disembodied voice of this fortress was a common issue for all newcomers. Not that she would blame them…

"I see... well, in that case, please lead the way."

Lyn and Lucina walked into the meeting room. It was Corrin's day off, and Lucina was going to serve as her replacement for today. Lady Lyn already rested earlier, so they decided to head together for the next mission.

"Well well well, look what the cat dragged in."

Lucina blinked when she heard a familiar voice. The voice was familiar since it sounded just like Tharja's. She turned and saw that not only did the woman sound like her, but her appearance mirrored the black mage's to a T.

"Tharja, is that you?" The woman's smile faded and was replaced with an ugly frown. "If you value the length and color of your hair, I suggest you never call me that again."

Lucina gulped and nodded, not willing to antagonize a woman who looked exactly like Tharja. She remembered Noire's stories of how she was experimented on by her mother. She would rather not have something like that happen to her.

Then, she felt a primal fear take hold of her body and jumped backward when a strange man wearing strange armor materialized out of thin air. She drew her sword and pointed it at the man.

He held his arms up, attempting to calm her.

"At ease, girl, I was only testing your combat situational awareness. You passed."

Oh, he was most likely a servant summoned by Chaldea. She sheathed her sword.

He stretched out his hand, "I am known as Leonidas, King of Sparta. I usually go by lancer, but with so many of my class here, it would be best if you referred to me as the latter."

She took his hand, "Lucina, from the World of Awakening."

They released their handshake and Leonidas turned toward the rest of the room.

"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! Let us begin our daily warm-ups! Our summoner still needs time to prepare for the Rayshift, so let us have a good workout while we wait!" A few people, mainly the woman who looked like Tharja, groaned.

She wondered why they had such low enthusiasm to do a mere warm-up.

0-0-0

The scenery shifted once more as her sore body was Rayshifted over into the new location. Sore as it may be, she was still mentally prepared to carry out the mission.

But, once her body fully materialized, a horrible, disgusting, and nostalgic smell hit her nose. It was a smell she thought her senses had grown accustomed to, but somehow it still managed to catch her off guard.

Lucina gazed into the burning homes around her.

Despite the difference in the structural design of the buildings, it was still a scene that she was all too familiar with. The destruction, death, and flames of calamity were waged for the sole purpose of killing innocent people.

When Lucina first heard Gudako's plea, she naively believed that the Grand Order was going to be similar to what happened to her world.

She was wrong. Horribly wrong.

The Fell Dragon was the single worst being she had ever met. Her hatred of the Fell Dragon was a personal one, so she was biased in her judgment, But now, seeing the devastation, the death, and knowing the scale... It sickened her to say that he was worse in certain aspects.

Her eyes landed on a fossilized woman cradling a child in her arms. The look of surprise on both mother and child spoke volumes of just how fast they had died.

Much like the…. Billions of humans in the world. She still had a hard time grasping just how large a 'billion' was, let alone seven.

It eclipsed any body count Grima had done against her world and its past, manyfold. But while Grima lacked quantity, he made up for it in cruelty.

No matter the number, Grima preferred to kill slowly, as he was a sadistic bastard. He slaughtered and terrorized innocents because he was an evil force for the sake of being evil. In his sick game of cat and mouse, the cat often liked chasing around the desperate mice just trying to stay alive.

Solomon, like Grima, viewed humans as mere insects that needed to be exterminated, but at least Solomon did so instantaneously. No doubt, if Solomon had decided to pull his Grand Order in her world, her world would have never stood a chance…

'What are you thinking?!' Lucina thought as she shook her head.

She needed to stop making such morbid comparisons. Solomon was not Grima and Grima was not Solomon, the people of this world do not deserve more or less pity based on the level of their suffering.

Perhaps the scenery is too similar to her doomed future timeline for her tastes than she realized.

She hadn't returned to her future in years and had grown complacent in the time since the Shepherds defeated Grima.

Now that she has come to a world going through a similar crisis, she is now making short-sighted comparisons when she should be focusing on helping.

Still, there's one thing she can compare between both her world and here, and it angers her.

No matter the world, there will always be some beast that wishes to eradicate humanity simply for existing. Humanity is always forced to fight desperate battles for survival against foes who despise peace in their everyday lives.

Will there ever be a day when they will be free?

When will it end?

When will these bastards ever stop trying to kill us just because we want to live?!

Lucina felt a comforting hand on her shoulder. She turned to see Gudao with a somber expression on his face.

"Are you okay?"

"Did I say that out loud?" She looked around and saw a few of the others also giving her solemn looks.

"If this singularity is too much for you, we can always send you back and you can aid us when we head to a more pleasant one."

A more pleasant one? What did he mean by that? This was all horrible, how could he say that?!

"Not all singularities are fire and brimstone like this one, others are more normal. You reacted pretty negatively to all this destruction, so I thought-"

She clenched her fists, the creaking leather was loud enough that it caused him to pause his talk.

Then, she felt it. A sudden wave of warm energy enveloped her psyche. It soothed her soul and deflated any anger that had emerged from her.

"Feel better now, blue?" The woman who looked like Tharja said.

Lucina took a deep breath of the polluted air and calmed her mind.

"Yes. You have my thanks. I needed that. I apologize, everyone, I let old memories get the better of me. I am fine for duty now."

"If you say so. You don't need to push yourself if you don't want to. This is just a simple material-gathering run. It can always wait."

"I appreciate the thought, Gudao, but what kind of leader would I be if I ran away from such things? I will press forward."

"... Alright."

"Ugh, hurry up, you two! I want to get this over with, so I can finish my very important research." The woman who wasn't Tharja said.

Both Gudao and Lucina decided to cut their conversations short and started their mission. As they left in search of Dragon tooth warriors to slay, Lucina gave one final look at the dead mother and child one last time…

And vowed to save the future of this world as well.

Author's Note: Gudao and Chaldea finally make their appearance, but I decided to give Lucina the POV this time. We will be delving into Murica next chapter, but for now, I just wanted to show the reaction of one of the Future Children to a different ruined future.
