Somewhere over Florida

Amos Kanes POV

I was a tad nervous. My children and I were going to investigate something that we had no idea existed in The Sea of Monsters. I was on the team Tony and Rhodey were on, with Nico being on Clint and Kate Bishops team. DeLaynie had insisted on being on Hope and Banners team, as (her words not mine) the rest of the group she would just end up babysitting. And I had called Carter, who had sent Jas as she was a healer. She was working with Sam and Bucky, and seemed to be in a mix of excited and nervous.

I kept my eyes on the window of the Quin Jet, as I was more worried for my child. I had left Adrian in Carmens care. She said she could handle him. I was also worried about myself. I was the only one in a wheelchair, thanks to most of one of my legs having been amputated. I felt Phantom Pain flare up uncontrollably. I started to rub my leg. I was so tired of these bursts of pain that my brain was tricking itself into. Banner noticed my struggle, and helped me numb the pain down again.

Tony came over to where I was, and handed me a box.

"Open it." He said.

I did, and inside was a prosthetic leg. I looked up at him.

"We don't know how the territory is, so it would be better if you could actually walk. You can keep it after the mission." He said, as he then turned to leave.

I went about putting it on. It was black and silver, and was a bit heavy, but it did the job. I stood up, and almost fell over. DeLaynie looked up from her magical examination, impressed with the leg. She had decided since this was an emergency, this counted as a time when her magic had to be used.

She helped me get used to walking on it for the rest of our flight there, and had us huddle up.

"Listen up: the barrier around the island is having trouble now, due to some kind of magical energy surge. Like, possibly someone accidentally started the deactivation of the barrier, which is the only reason Tony could have spotted it. So, as such, we need to be ready to fight monsters, so I am going to look at everyone's weaponry, see what may need improvements. Anyone who doesn't have weapons, follow me, I'll suit you up."

She took Hope, Bruce, and Jas. When they came out, Jas had a throwing axe, Hope had a laser gun, tailored to kill monsters only, and Bruce had brass knuckles. DeLaynie also fixed up Rhodey and Bucky with some bullets made out of Drakon Scales.

The scales of those beasts were a good substitute for monster killing metals. She did the same with Clint and Kates arrows, and she also coated Sam's shield with a thin layer of melted down Bone Steel. Enough to kill monsters without covering up the paint.

DeLaynie rounded out her tasks by fixing the Ironman suit with a repulsor meant to kill monsters. I had to admit, my daughter knew what she was doing. She tossed me a magic kit, saying she had made sure it wouldn't require bigger amounts of energy, as long as I stayed within my limits.

She made sure Nicos sword was ok, and added an enchantment so that it would be able to detect monsters and alert its owner by glowing.

Then we saw that we had arrived. I shook down my nerves, and get ready to get off the jet.

We landed on a small island, and hid the jet. We managed to get to the main shore, and saw a huge drakon. The beast was bigger than anything I had ever seen.

DeLaynie whipped out her staff and used her powers to leap upward, and stabbed it in the eye, before whipping out her freeze breath and breathing onto the eye, somehow killing it.

The others smiled, and we continued on our way, stopping in front of a small castle. We all hid, and decided to listen into the conversation between the teens outside.

Evie's House

Jays POV

"Let me get this straight: a giant black dog attacked you, and it seemed to be gunning for you and Gil here?" Mal asked.

"Yes!" Gil said, looking frustrated.

"Funny, Ben has been saying that weird beasts have been showing up regularly. The guards are spread awful thin, so handling it is getting harder and harder."

I frowned. Why was this happening?

"Maybe someone summoned them?" Carlos suggested.

I shook my head, and spotted a girl in the bushes. Her hair was hot pink, dark blue, and light purple. Her eyes were grayish blue. She moved upon seeing that I had spotted her.

"I think we have company." I said.

We stood, and I saw her moving to stand.

"Hi. Not here to hurt anybody. We need to talk pronto: me, you all, and my friends, my brother, and my dad." She said as she signed something behind her, and suddenly there were several adults, and two teens.

"Ok, what is going on? First a giant dog tries to kill us, then, random people show up." Gil said.

"What if we told you that we know what's going on? And tracked you here because we realized you might be in danger?" the girl with the multicolored hair said.

"Who are you?" Evie asked.

"The Avengers, with a pair of wizards and demigods joining in because we aren't as magically gifted as them." The guy in the robot suit said.

"Ok, then. Let's head inside, and don't double cross us, or you'll all be dragon barbecue." Mal said.

"Alright, if you're really on our side, then what the heck is going on?" Ben asked.

We had asked him to come over upon getting inside. The group had found spaces to sit, with robot suit in the kitchen with the blonde girl getting snacks. The guy in the suit was doing the talking, with the girl who had said her name was DeLaynie staying close to the door, with a staff in hand, helping in the conversation. Me, Mal, Ben, and Fairy Godmother were talking to suit guy.

"Listen: your island is literally in the middle of an area that is a great danger to every demigod ever to cross its waters. It's only by some miracle we made it here. It showed up on our maps, so clearly somethings wrong." Suit Guy said, "My daughter has a knack for magic, she said that it appears the barrier is weakening drastically. That's why you are having a monster problem. I do not know if there is a way to fix it, but we can help you to arm yourselves, and protect everyone. But we need to know how many demigods, or descendants of gods, are here."

"A whole lot more than in the rest of the world."

We all whipped our heads to see Hades, with Hadie next to him.

"Ok, good to know. Got a list?" Suit Guy asked.

He handed over a scroll.

"It was meant for Percy, but since there are a lot of people here already who are aware of the demigod side of things, I guess you can take this one." He said. "My daughter is on the list, as well as my son, who is right next to me: Hayden."

Mal stood up, and grabbed her dad before he could leave. "Dad, what's going on?"

"Mali, there's something you need to know: Auradon is the last piece of a dimension that dissolved over a century ago, thanks to her biological family." Hades said, pointing at multicolored hair girl, before continuing, "Us Greek gods, we placed it in The Sea of Monsters, here, and it became our breeding ground. Demigods are everywhere, and the barrier was accidentally weakened when you opened the barrier surrounding the Isle of the Lost. I am so sorry, but you and everyone here must help Auradon brace itself to fight these monsters regularly."

"Aw come on." Ben said. "Any advice?"

"Listen to the daughter of the Norse god. I swear she could be the next Athena." he said.

"Who?" Fairy Godmother asked.

"Thats me. Hi, DeLaynie Kane, daughter of Njord biologically, adopted daughter of Amos Kane who explained your situation." Multicolored hair girl said very quickly.

"Ok, you guys have that. I am taking Hadie to Camp Half-blood, for his own safety. My other children, however: you have work to do. And plus, Hayden has never been a fighter, so this might just be better for him." Hades said, as he poofed away.

I turned to stare at our apparent new commander, DeLaynie Kane.

"So, we got a quality space to talk about the plan?" She said.
