Chapter Forty-Eight: Missing

It had been a couple hours since Phoenix had left the house. He was too nervous to go back and face the others after how he had handled the situation with Jaune. "What's wrong with me?" he mentally asked himself. "I could have found a way to de-escalate the situation or just grabbed his arm. I didn't have to slam him into a wall and start choking him."

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his scroll receiving a text. He opened it to see it was from Ruby, telling him that Oscar had gone missing, and everyone was going to look for him.

The person that Phoenix ended up finding wasn't Oscar; it was Qrow, passed out on a street corner. He lifted Qrow over his shoulder with an annoyed sigh. "Better get him back to the house. Hope Jaune's family won't be too annoyed that I have to pick the lock to get in."

To his surprise, the door was unlocked when he reached the house. He quietly put Qrow down and opened the door, drawing a knife to deal with the potential intruder.

One of the biggest reasons Phoenix is angsting about what he did to Jaune is the nightmares he's been having. Specifically, the nightmares like the one he had in chapter forty-three where Abyss talks about him "hiding what he is by trying to be some sort of hero" and pointing out that he handles things more brutal than the others. That can probably be inferred, but I just wanted to make note of it just in case I wasn't clear enough about it.
