During this first year, they finally decide to stick to the same events since they knew that Professor Quirrel won't be a danger to the student body. At first, they wanted Professor Quirrell to have an accident, but Hermione stated that his spirit will look for another body to possess and it will maybe change a little too much the timeline too soon.

They already changed things, Harry and Hermione are now best friends with Neville. They are civil with Ronald and they did try to be friends with him, but it wasn't working well. The other girls of Gryffindor are friendlier with Hermione this time since she's less focused (obsessed) on her studies. Furthermore, the two of them succeed to reach first years from other houses like Susan Bones and her friend Hannah Abbot from Hupplepuff, Blaise Zabini, Tracey Davis, and Daphne Greengrass from Slytherin (they even have a civil relationship with Malfoy). Finally, Lisa Turpin, and Michael Corner from Ravenclaw.

McGonagall retrieved the Diadem from the Requirement chamber when they knew the Headmaster was out of the castle while Harry take care of Voldemort. When the year ended, Dumbledore did the same stupid thing when he gave enough points for Gryffindor to win the House Cup.

When they arrive at KingCross, Harry didn't see his aunt or uncle there. Hermione took his hand and brought him to her parents. Hermione's parents gave him a letter from his aunt saying that his uncle receive a job offer overseas and that he accepted it. The letter didn't say the country where they went. Not that Harry cared. So Harry went to live with Granger for the first part of the summer. Unfortunately, the family had something planned for two weeks and they couldn't bring him. Hermione contacted McGonagall to find a solution and she did. For those two weeks, he spent with the Tonk family, and Aunt Andy helped him understand what it means to be an heir and a lord of an Ancient and Noble House. That's where he met Tonks, she started her studies to be an auror. She's bloody brilliant. In the other timeline, he didn't really interact with her so he only did know her as the girlfriend of Remus.

During the year of the Chamber of Secrets, they tried to take the diary directly after Lucius put it in the cauldron, but failed to do it… too many people and Lockhart still single out Harry. This annoying bastard. They will try at school when Ginny will be there. In the second week, Harry decided to go meet the Basilisk without telling Hermione (she will be furious). He explained to her who he is and she told him that her purpose was to protect the school. Riddle must have done something to her than some safeguard that Riddle put on her to enslave her. Harry thought. He will need to talk to Hermione about it. Unfortunately, the basilisk made her first victim of petrification two weeks after their conversation. Lockhart was still the professor for the year, he was pathetic as ever. Minerva had bought Mandrake's seeds (and other types of seeds) as a gift to her colleague Professor Sprout. Hoping the school will be ready to heal the students. After Christmas, Harry found the spell and the counterspell in parseltongue to free the Basilik of the control of Voldemort. So this time, they had less petrified students in the infirmary. Hermione succeeds to retrieve the diary and putting it in the special box for it. Unfortunately, they will have to find another way to free Dobby from Malfoy Sr.

One month before the end of the year, Harry and Neville were walking in the corridor, when they heard something. They decided to investigate… they were shocked and angry to see this despicable monster. Harry wondered if it happened in the other timeline. Harry told Neville to fetch quickly a professor and that he would take care of this filth. While running to catch the attention of a professor, Harry entered the room, stun the man, and quickly went to the little girl. He asked her if she was okay and that the professors would be there soon. Unfortunately, Lockhart woke up and tried to obliviate the two students, but Harry was faster and knock his wand off. it is at this moment that the four Head of House arrives, Minerva had transformed into her animagus to come quickly as she could. Each of them was furious, he never saw Professor Sprout looking like that, as for Professor Flitwick, Harry could see why the latter was a duellist champion. Minerva was murmuring things that he didn't understand (probably blaming herself for not having known). And Snape it was hard to see, but if you knew him enough, you could see the rage inside him. The little girl was a first-year muggle-born from Hufflepuff name Aria, she had her skirt on the floor and had bruises on her arm from this… bastard. He should have let him to Hermione, she would have made his life like hell. Lockhart was sentenced to 25 years in Azkaban. After being interrogated under veritaserum, they found that he was a fraud, he obliviated people and stole their stories. After that, nothing out of the ordinary happens.
