Now that he's sure he's in the Harry Potter universe, Alex decides to test whether he can see the way through without the help of a magical person. It's with great surprise and satisfaction that he sees the pub. Tom the bartender recognizes someone who's there for the first time and tells him how to get to the magical side. He decides to go to Gringotts to convert money to buy some books for Hermione and himself. When he arrives at one of the reception desks, the goblin stares at him for a few seconds and calls one of his colleagues. I hope I'm not in trouble. He remembers that goblins are not people to be offended Alex thinks nervously. His colleague asks him to follow and leads him into an office. "Hello Mr..." begins the goblin in front of him "I'm Alexandre Gilbert" replies Alex. "Yes, Mr. Gilbert, we received a vision of your visit today"

"I don't understand sir, what does this mean to me," says Alex

"Since then, on December 1, 1984, a new vault in your name has been created. You have a total of 40694 galleons, 11 sickels and 19 knuts."

"How much does that equate to in pounds?" asks Alex.

"About 200,000 pounds." replies the goblin

"We've been ordered to carry out a lineage test, so hold out your hand, I only need a few drops of blood.

200,000 pounds is equivalent to around 700,000-800,000 pounds in 2024. thinks Alex shocked by the fact that he has a bank account in the magical world. He'll be able to pay off the Grangers who lent him money to pay for his university studies.

Alexander brings his hand close to the knife and sees his blood slide into a small vial. The goblin then places a few drops on a parchment and it's possible to see his lineage. Apparently, he is the sole legitimate heir to the ancient and noble House of Beaufort on his biological mother's side and a member of the more ancient and noble House of Black on his biological father's side. The latter knew he'd been adopted when he was just a baby, but he'd never sought out his biological parents. He wondered if the names on the parchment would be the same in his world. To conclude his visit to Gringotts, he asked the goblin for a detailed account of his finances and accepted his status as Lord Beaufort. Before heading home, he passes by the bookshop, a store that sold pastries. He'll be back another day to explore; it was a busy afternoon.

Over dinner, he talks to the rest of the family about his discoveries. He informs them that he has already transferred the money he owed them. He also suggests that Hermione take a lineage test. He also tells them that he has chosen Hermione as his heir if he dies before having children. He also gives Hermione some books (she was delighted) and informs them that he is going to study magic independently, after getting himself a wand. He also tells them that he is the owner of a manor in France and will start looking for property via the goblins.

Friday, he returns to Diagon Alley, but this time with Hermione and Jean (Richard had an important surgery to do). They start at the bank to have the lineage test done, open a bank account for it, and convert money for their purchases. Alex consults his account manager about buying property and magic fences around the Granger residence. When everyone is back together outside Gringotts, they sit down to lunch in a small restaurant to discuss what they want to do next. The adults decided to discuss what had happened during the encounter with the goblins at home. There would be less danger of being overheard. The bookshop would be their last stop, otherwise, Hermione would spend all her time there. So they started at Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions to buy Hermione's uniform (yes, in the end, the parents decided to let Hermione go to Hogwarts.). After consulting with Jean and Richard this morning, Alex went to adopt an owl and Crookshank (a surprise for Hermione) at Magical Menagerie. Meanwhile, Hermione went to fetch her wand with her mother.

"Alex, Alex! Look at my wand!" she exclaimed, walking quickly towards him as she spotted it.

"Woah, so what materials is your wand made of Mia" he replies smiling.

"It's made of vine wood with dragon heartstring core and my wand is 10¾ long. I think I'll buy myself a book on the art of creating a wand. " Hermione replies quickly.

"I'm happy for you, little princess," he says, adding that he has a surprise for her.

"A surprise!" exclaims Hermione excitedly.

Hermione hadn't seen that her "big brother" had a big cat with long orange hair and a bushy tail in one of the cages. He had a grumpy-looking face. "He's half-kneazle and highly intelligent. You should definitely trust him Mia" explains Alex. "Mom, can I really have the cat?" asks Hermione, looking at her mother. "Yes, your father and I have discussed it and we believe you are responsible enough to look after a cat. You should thank Alex, it's a gift from him" replies Jean. Hermione jumps into Alex's arms to thank him with a huge smile. Alex's presence really improved their daughter's self-confidence, she was less isolated in her books and less naive about authority figures. What's more, Alex had taken Hermione to work several times, which made her more aware of different types of living. The parents had also noticed that their daughter was less impatient with people who seemed less "intelligent" from her point of view. The outing ended with several bags (most of them from the bookshop), and Jean had even bought books on the history of magic, politics, and medicine. The three returned home just in time for dinner.
