Elena was stressed as she entered her home. It had been months since the aftermath of the sacrifice, and if possible, things only seemed to get more complicated since then. Klaus continued to wreak havoc on their lives. They had almost been free of him. His father, Mikael, was supposed to kill him, and would've, but Stefan betrayed them all and saved Klaus.

Truthfully, a small piece of Elena was relieved that Klaus survived. As much as she hated him, she couldn't seem to forget that she descended from him or Elijah. That made him technically family and it felt wrong to kill him knowing that. Still, she was willing to do it to protect the people she cared about, and hopefully free Stefan of him. Then Stefan had to go and betray them. She was furious with him for that. She knew it was because Klaus forced him to turn off his humanity, but that didn't help her frustration.

Elena sighed and went up to her room. As soon as she opened the door, she stopped in her tracks. Stefan was standing inside with his back to her. "What are you doing in my bedroom?"

Stefan turned to face her. "Hello, Elena. There was a time not too long ago when you would've welcomed me in your bedroom."

Elena barely registered his words because as soon as Stefan turned to face her, she saw what he was doing. The box of Isobel's things was on the bed and Stefan had some of her papers in his hand. He must have taken the box from her closet. "You've been going through my things?!"

"Yes. See, I was curious after the attempt to kill Klaus. I was watching you while we were planning it out. You looked guilty. It seemed like a part of you didn't want him dead. I think I know why now," Stefan said as he held up the paper with Elena's family tree.

Elena immediately shut her door, so no one would interrupt and glared at Stefan. She snatched the paper out of his hand. "You are the one that stopped us from killing Klaus, not me!"

"True, but I was still curious. So how long have you known Klaus was your family?" Stefan asked.

"He's not my family. He's my ancestor," Elena said.

"How long, Elena?" Stefan asked with an edge to his voice.

"Since right after we found out about Klaus and what he wanted from me," Elena said.

Stefan looked furious. "You've known since before the sacrifice? You could've stopped all of this!"

Elena couldn't stop the pang of guilt as she thought about Jenna and John and the what ifs, but she pushed it down. She refused to let Stefan see that, not the Stefan he was now anyway. "Really, Stefan? You really think Klaus would stop a ritual he was trying to complete for more than a thousand years because he found out he was my several times great grandfather or uncle? I didn't realize your lack of humanity also made you stupid."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Stefan asked.

"Because it was none of your business! And because it was a moot point. It didn't matter. It was nothing more than an interesting fact about my lineage," Elena said.

"Does Klaus know now?" Stefan asked.

"Not to my knowledge. I haven't told him, and if he'd known prior to meeting me, he would've said so by now," Elena said. Klaus would've mentioned it if for no other reason than to torture them all with the information. "Klaus will never find out about this."

Stefan began to think about this new development. He was still furious, but he was beginning to think about how he could use this to his advantage. Elena was technically Klaus' family, and Klaus valued his family above anyone else. Elena also had the power to give him more hybrids, so that made her an even bigger bargaining chip. He could really make Klaus suffer with this information. "Yes, he will. I'll make sure of it."

Elena narrowed her eyes. "Stefan, don't you…" She never finished her sentence because Stefan grabbed her by the arm and sped away with her at vampire speed.

The next thing Elena knew she was no longer in her bedroom. When she and Stefan finally came to a stop and let her go, She stumbled a little and put her hand on the first surface she could find to brace herself. It turned out to be a coffin. As she looked around the room, she found that there were four coffins, and she was in what looked to be an old, half condemned house. "What the hell? Where are we?"

"You don't need to know," was Stefan's only reply.

Elena looked down at the coffin she was touching and hesitantly opened it up. Inside, she found Elijah with a dagger in his chest. She gasped and looked at Stefan in disbelief. "You stole Elijah's body?!

Stefan nodded. "As well as Klaus' other siblings. I wanna make Klaus pay for what he did to me, so I took the one thing he cares about, his family. Now I have all of you."

Elena stared at him in horror. Who the hell was this individual? It sure wasn't Stefan, not the Stefan she loved. He would never, ever even think to use her as a bargaining chip to hurt someone else. "Are you kidding me, Stefan? You're going to hold me against my will to hurt Klaus. What the hell have you become?"

"Don't look at me like that! This is your fault! If you had told the truth, this all wouldn't have happened! I wouldn't have become Klaus' puppet!" Stefan snarled angrily.

"Don't be an idiot! If Klaus wanted you, he would have you regardless of anything else! He takes what he wants! He wanted you because he liked the kind of killer you were when you had your humanity off. That is most definitely not my fault. And you're doing all this for nothing because Klaus isn't going to give a damn that a thousand years after he turned into a vampire, I was born to his line. My only worth to him is my blood."

"We'll see. I'm going to need that," Stefan said as he snatched the proof of Elena's relationship to Klaus from her hands. After all, Klaus would want to see proof when he told him. "I'll also need your phone."

"Go to Hell!" Elena told him. She knew he'd get it either way, but she wasn't going to hand it over.

Stefan sighed before grabbing her arm and taking her phone from her pocket. "I'll be back in a while with food and water. Oh, and I don't suggest removing any of the daggers. These vampires haven't fed in a long time. They'll be extremely hungry when they wake up.

"Stefan don't do this!" Elena pleaded, but Stefan didn't even spare her another glance before leaving the room and locking her inside.
