Damon was furious. It had been a couple of hours since he found out that Stefan kidnapped Elena. He was ready to throttle his brother and then beat him within an inch of his life. That wouldn't help Elena though. He needed a plan to find her before Klaus did, or worse, before Stefan lost it more than he already had.

As if on cue, the front door opened and closed. A minute later, Bonnie and Caroline entered the living room. "I assume you summoned us here for a reason, and it better not be to watch you get wasted," Bonnie said after watching him down a glass of Scotch in one gulp.

"Is Elena here?" Caroline asked.

"If she was, I wouldn't need the two of you," Damon said in an irritated tone.

"What's going on, Damon? What do you want?" Bonnie asked.

Damon poured himself another drink before answering. "Elena's been kidnapped."

Both girls looked at each other will alarm and then back at Damon. "What? Was it Klaus?" Bonnie asked.

Damon laughed bitterly. "Of course, you'd think that. That would actually make sense! No, it was Stefan."

"What? Stefan wouldn't do that," Caroline said. She knew Stefan wasn't himself with his humanity off, but he couldn't really hurt Elena, could he?"

Damon glared at her. "Where the hell have you been the last few months? Stefan doesn't give a crap about anything anymore."

"Why would Stefan kidnap Elena? What does he gain from that?" Bonnie asked.

"Leverage against Klaus," he answered.

"Why? Because she can help him create Hybrids? I mean, yeah, that matters to Klaus, but I doubt it's important enough to get him to give Stefan anything," Caroline said.

"No, but the fact that Klaus may be her great, great, great, great granddaddy might get him to give Stefan something," Damon said. He watched their reactions. They seemed surprised, but not by the information. It was more like they were surprised that he knew about it. "Yeah, I figured the two of you knew about it. Did it ever occur to the three of you that you should share this information?"

"It was Elena's choice. She didn't want anyone to know. She didn't want Klaus to know," Bonnie said.

"Yeah, well, Stefan just destroyed that hope," Damon said.

"How did Stefan even find out? Because Elena didn't tell him. She didn't want anyone to know. She wouldn't even speak of it after the sacrifice," Caroline said.

"I don't know. All I know is that he showed Klaus a piece of paper that was supposed to be proof," Damon said.

"The family tree. He must have found it somehow," Bonnie said.

"Whatever. I don't care how he found out. We need to find her before Stefan becomes even more unhinged, if that's possible," Damon said.

"I'll do a locator spell. I just need to call Jeremy," Bonnie said.

Damon shook his head. "That will only give you a general area. It isn't good enough. We need a precise location."

"What's your plan then?" Bonnie asked. She knew he had to have one because he called them there for a reason.

"Go into Stefan's mind, like you did with Mason. Get her location that way," Damon said.

"That would be very difficult. Mason was still human, even if he was a werewolf. I was able to get into his head because he was unconscious. That's not so easy with a vampire," Bonnie said.

"I'll snap his neck," Damon said.

"And then he'll technically be dead until he wakes up. There will be nothing to see. Besides, even if I could get into his mind, you know that I have no control over what I see," Bonnie said.

"We don't have an alternative!" Damon yelled in frustration.

"Wait, Stefan's on vervain, right?" Caroline asked. She then continued when Damon nodded. "So, we could dry him out. Then, once the vervain is out of his system, Klaus can compel him?"

"You wanna work with Klaus?" Bonnie asked in disbelief.

"I don't think we're in a position to be picky on who we accept help from. Klaus wants Elena found too. We have a shared interest," Caroline said.

"It would take too long anyway," Damon said, drawing both girls' attention back to him. "We'd have to lock him up for days. In that time, Elena would be left without food and water." Granted, two days wouldn't kill her, but he wasn't going to let her suffer that way either.

"I'm not sure we have another option," Bonnie said. She didn't like leaving her friend without food for that long, but it was the only way to save her.

"Of course, we do," a new voice said.

All three of them turned to see that Klaus had entered the room.

"We do it the more fun way. We bleed him out," Klaus said with a smirk. After the initial shock and fury left him, he knew exactly what he had to do to find Elena.

"What? What do you mean, bleed him out?" Caroline asked.

"It means exactly what it sounds like, Love. We remove the blood from his body until the vervain is gone. Then I will compel him to tell me what he's done with Elena. It's much more efficient than waiting for the vervain to naturally leave his system. That process takes longer with vampires," Klaus said.

"You wanna torture him?" Caroline asked.

"How long would it take?" Bonnie asked.

"Bonnie!" Caroline exclaimed in disbelief.

"Stefan made his bed, Caroline. He crossed a line. Elena did nothing to deserve what he's doing to her," Bonnie said.

"His humanity is off," Caroline argued.

"Oh, no, don't let him fool you, Love. Stefan's already flipped that switch back on. He is consumed with hatred and vengeance. Those are emotions he couldn't feel if his humanity wasn't in play. He may have dimmed them or only focused on select emotions, but he feels them," Klaus told them.

Damon hadn't thought of it that way before, but Klaus was right. Stefan was picking and choosing what he wanted to feel, but he was feeling. That made the whole thing much worse. It meant that Stefan knew what he was doing to Elena was wrong, but was doing it anyway. Still, they were talking about torturing his little brother. Damon had spent Stefan's entire human life trying to protect him. Now he was contemplating helping to torture him. However, Elena meant everything to him, and Stefan was using her as a pawn. He may not have physical hurt her yet, but Damon couldn't put anything past Stefan if Klaus didn't give into him. "How long would it take?"

"I could speed up the process. I would likely take just over a day, maybe two, but more than likely less," Klaus said. In the few times he'd done this, he usually drew it out, but as much as he'd like to make Stefan's torture slow, Elena needed to be found swiftly.

Damon reluctantly nodded his agreement. It wasn't like he really had a choice. Klaus was going to do it either way. "Stefan's going to have his guard up though. He's going to be waiting for one of us to do something."

"That is why we will use someone he wouldn't expect to care. On that note, I'm going to need to know where Rebekah is. I get the feeling Stefan doesn't have her," Klaus said.

Damon sighed. "She's upstairs. Elena daggered her."

Klaus laughed. "Well, it seems the little doppelganger is family after all. Well, I get right now waking her and then we'll get started. Oh, and just one more thing. When Elena is found, she will be coming with me." He certainly wasn't going to trust these people with his family. Even taking Stefan out of the equation, his family had a lot of enemies, and they'd use Elena to hurt them. He intended to keep her very close.

"Like Hell she will!" Damon snarled. This was exactly what he feared. He knew Klaus would never leave Elena alone once he knew. She was going to be trading one captor for another.

"You will not touch her!" Bonnie said in a dangerous tone.

"Guys, stop it! Let's handle one fight at a time! This argument is moot if we don't find Elena," Caroline said. She was in no way going to allow Klaus to kidnap Elena, but it didn't matter until they found her.

"Good point, Love. Although, I would argue that there will be now fight at all. There will be no discussion. Elena is my blood and she will come with me. Now, shall we go sort out Rebekah?" Klaus asked with a smirk.

Damon glared at Klaus, but he led the way out of the room to go get Rebekah.
