Joanna's apartment

Afternoon

"Sometimes I think the world would be better off without me," Joanna said tearfully as she and Paige sat on her couch.

"No. That is absolutely not true, you can believe me on that one," Paige quickly assured her before her phone rang. "Ugg, what now?"

Digging out her phone, she saw it was Piper. Swallowing her annoyance, Paige turned to Joanna apologetically.

"Uh, just give me a second okay?" Paige asked before getting off the couch, walking a little away before answering. "I thought you said you guys could do this without me."

"Well that was before Clark paid a visit to Alicia's grave. There was no body in there and then she showed up, she basically confirmed that Zankou is behind this," Piper said and Paige frowned.

"So then Phoebe wasn't dreaming," Paige noted.

"I'm gonna get to work on a vanquishing potion for the Alchemist. We do that , hopefully it'll reverse his magic and Alicia and Tim can rest in peace. I need you to get Phoebe and bring her home," Piper told her.

"I kind of don't want to leave Joanna right now," Paige almost hissed.

"Is it life or death?"

"No," Paige had to admit.

"Well this is. The faster we deal with this, the faster you can get back to your charge. And Clark's kind of in a bad way, you should talk to him," Piper reasoned and Paige sighed.

"Fine. Okay. I'll be there as soon as I can," Paige promised before hanging up and turning regretfully to Joanna. "Uh, I'm gonna have to go. I have a family emergency."

"What if Carl comes back? I don't want to face him alone," Joanna said nervously as she got to her feet.

"You won't have to. Just call me and I will be here in a second," Paige assured her.

"But what if you're far away?" Joanna pointed out.

"If you need me, just yell my name, loudly," Paige told her.

"But-"

"No buts, alright? I'm always watching out for you, trust me," Paige said and Joanna gave a slight nod. "Lock the door behind me. If Carl comes by, do not open the door, alright? I'll be back as soon as I can."

Paige went out the door and Joanna immediately locked it. Joanna turned around, trying to calm down when-

"What's the matter Joanna? I thought you loved being alone with me," Joanna watched shocked as Carl walked into the room.

"Carl, how'd you get in here?" she asked and he scoffed as he crossed his arms.

"Magic," he said before he turned into Zankou.

Terrified, Joanna tried to flee but Zankou was too fast, crossing the room and grabbing her by the neck. He slammed her back against the door, his throat tightening around her throat as she tried to say something.

"Paige? Is that who you're trying to call out for? Well, I'm afraid Paige has abandoned you. But if it makes you feel any better, I'm sure she'd be very upset she'd missed this," Zankou said with a sadistic grin as he continued choking Joanna.

Later in the afternoon

Oliver and Kara were continuing to walk through the cavern when they came upon some more symbols.

"Wow," Oliver muttered as Kara walked up to them, reading them.

"It says that the bow is in the inner sanctum," Kara translated.

"Let me get this straight, whoever uses the Bow of Orion gets to vanish darkness forever?" Oliver asked.

"According to the Prophecy. Why, you think that's you?" Kara asked as she looked over her shoulder.

"Don't know. But I am the only one on our team who uses a bow," Oliver pointed out. "But either way, this Bow id the only weapon that's known to have beaten Darkseid. We need it."

"Well first we need to find it," Kara noted as they continued walking through the cavern.

Within seconds, they came upon a room with a wall of vegetation covering something. Oliver walked over, removing the vegetation and uncovering the rune of a man with a bow. Turning towards where the bow was pointed, Oliver shined his flashlight at it to reveal a target like rune.

"Bingo," Oliver said with a grin.

Oliver walked under the target rune, removing some vegetation to revealing a wall with a line it, like an elevator door waiting to open.

"Look at that," Oliver said happily.

Kara didn't seem as happy, he noticed. Instead, she turned around, walking back to where they had come in. Oliver followed her and saw her standing over two runes, one of the bow, one of the Omega. Looking back at the other two runes, he saw each was lined up with one.

"Looks like another one of Orion's tests to see if we're worthy," Kara noted.

"If this is all about balancing light and darkness, it's gonna take two shots to open the door, one from each symbol," Oliver realized.

"Which also means you have to hit both at exactly the same time," Kara mused.

"So like a bank shot," Oliver joked.

Kara looked at him in exasperation and Oliver grinned before pulling out a spare bow, handing it to Kara.

"It's easier than it looks, you just point and shoot and really," Oliver told her.

"Okay," Kara muttered as she took the bow uncertainly.

"You got it," Oliver assured as they each stepped on one of the runes.

"You really trust me to do this?" Kara asked as she looked over at Oliver.

"Don't really have a choice, do I? We need the Bow of Orion, so it's either go big or go home," Oliver pointed out

Kara nodded before notching the bow. They each took aim at their symbols, sharing a look briefly before looking back. It was quiet for a moment.

"Now!"

At Oliver's command, both released the draw string and the arrows went flying. The arrows hit the archer and Omega symbols before each hitting the door. The arrow seemed to activate a trigger, as the doors opened, revealing a bright light that lit up the room.

"Nice shooting partner," Oliver said as they each lowered the bow.

"Thanks. Now let's go get what we came for," Kara said and Oliver nodded before they walked into the light.

Halliwell Mansion

Not long after

In the living room, Clark stood staring out a window, his mind filled with images of Alicia when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Startled, Clark turned around to see Paige looking at him in concern. He was so caught up in his thoughts he hadn't even heard her come in.

"You okay?" Paige asked as she lowered her hand to her side.

"Not really," Clark said with a sigh, running a hand through his hair.

"I know we're all worried about Phoebe, but it must be even worse for you," Paige said with worry. "I can't even imagine what it would be like to see someone I loved coming back to haunt me."

"Seeing Alicia like that, even knowing it's not really her saying those things…it was hard," Clark said with a sigh. "She says she blames me for her dying. And whether it's the Alchemist or not, maybe she's right."

"Clark, I'm sure that's not true," Paige said immediately and Clark smiled tightly.

"She kind of had a checked past. She was abused by her parents, which caused her to have some psychological issues. She did a lot of bad things but she got better, she got the help she needed. The man who murdered her, he was framing her for assault and attempted murder. She told me she was innocent, asked me to believe in her…but I didn't. By the time I had realized what an idiot I was being…"

"He'd already killed her," Paige said softly and Clark nodded a pained look on his eyes.

"I spent a lot nights lying awake, wish I could take it all back. But I can't, and now…" Clark trailed off, not sure what to say.

"Clark, if Alicia loved you as much as you clearly loved her, then she doesn't blame you for what happened. This is being done to her as much as it's being done to you. You wanna make things right, we need to find the Alchemist, find Zankou, make them both pay and let Alicia and Tim rest in peace," Paige said firmly and after a moment, Clark nodded.

"Yeah. Yeah, you're right," Clark said after a moment, taking a breath before standing up straight.

"I always am," Paige joked and he smiled slightly. "Looks, Piper's in the kitchen making a potion, Phoebe's upstairs, losing her mind. I need to go check on Joanna. Keep me in the loop."

Clark nodded and they kissed before Paige Orbed away.

Joanna's apartment

Not long after

"Hey Joanna, it's me Paige. I'm back. You in there?" Paige knocked on Joanna's door but didn't receive a response.

Having a bad feeling, Paige turned the nod and was surprised to find she was able to open the door.

"I told her to lock the door," Paige muttered as she walked in.

Barely had the words left her mouth when she froze as she saw Joanna lying on the floor, unmoving with a cut under her eye.

"Oh God," Paige said brokenly, kneeling down and cradling Joanna's body in her arms as she cried. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry."

Halliwell Manor

Night

"Darryl's not answering. Why isn't he answering?" Paige grumbled as she put her phone down.

"Darryl probably has his own problems to deal with," Clark noted as he, Piper and Leo watched her worriedly.

"Well what am I supposed to do, just let Carl get away with this?" Paige snapped as she plopped down in a chair.

"Assuming it was Carl," Clark mentioned and she looked at him bewildered.

"Clark, what are you trying to say?" Paige asked confused.

"I think what Clark's getting at is that it would be very convenient if Joanna just happened to die right around the time Zankou was going after us," Piper noted and Clark nodded his agreement.

"I've been a reporter for three years now, and I was doing this seven years before that. In my experience, when something is too convenient, it usually is," Clark explained.

"So you think Zankou made Carl do this?" Paige asked as she looked between her boyfriend and her sister.

"No, what we're saying is that Carl is Zankou," Piper clarified.

"It fits how he operates; he's targeting our weak points: Alicia, Phoebe's feelings of being cursed, your charges. It makes sense," Clark pointed out.

"But why?" Paige wondered.

"I don't know, but Leo, take the boys and head to Magic School," Piper said as she turned to her husband.

"I told you, I'm not gonna run and hide every time a demon attacks," Leo protested.

"This isn't about that. Zankou is targeting the people in our lives. I can't take the risk he won't come after you," Piper pointed out and Leo reluctantly nodded his agreement.

"What about the other people in your life?" Paige asked and Piper sighed.

"Best way to protect them is to deal with Zankou. For that, we need Phoebe," Piper pointed out.

At that moment, they heard a scream. Clark sped up the stairs, catching Phoebe running out of the attic.

"What's wrong?" Clark asked as he grabbed her, making her stop.

"He's right behind me, get him! Fry him!" Phoebe said hysterically as she moved behind Clark and Clark used his X-Ray vision, finding no one there.

"Whoever it was, he's gone now," Clark said as Piper, Leo and Paige rushed up stairs.

"Phoebe, what's wrong?" Piper asked concerned.

"He was here. Inspector Davidson," Phoebe rambled fearfully.

"Reese Davidson? He died four years ago," Piper said in shock.

"Alicia died six years ago. When it comes to an Alchemist, the rules of death clearly don't apply," Clark said grimly.

"Paige, get Leo and the boys to Magic School, now. We're going to end this," Piper said, fiery determination entering her eyes.

Ireland

Same time

Oliver and Kara entered another chamber, where they saw a glowing, white bow hovering in the air.

"Is that…" Oliver trailed off as they saw it.

"Orion's bow. The weapon he used to defeat Darkseid last time he was on earth," Kara said, her voice soft.

Oliver slowly walked over to it, mesmerized. Oliver stared at the symbols on it when, suddenly, he was able to read them like they were written in English.

"The only true power comes from within," Oliver muttered.

He reached his hand out to grab it when, suddenly, it was yanked out by an invisible force. Oliver and Kara whirl around as it flew into Goodness's hands as she walked into the chamber.

"Who are you? How'd you find this place?" Kara demanded.

"She's Granny Goodness," Oliver said, recognizing her from the story in the Daily Planet. "She's one of Darkseid's cronies."

Goodness merely smirked before, to Oliver and Kara's horror, the bow seemed to glow bright red before it turned to ash.

"NO!" Oliver exclaimed in horror.

"Thank you both. Those traps were meant to keep the Prophet's out," Goodness said smugly.

"You were watching us. You knew what we were doing," Kara realized in horror.

"Letting us do all the dirty work so you could destroy the Bow," Oliver said angrily and Goodness smirked.

"Orion's Bow was a light the world will never see again. It was the one power Darkseid could not defeat," Goodness said smugly.

"We'll find a way somehow to defeat you," Oliver said confidently.

"No, you will not. But it will be amusing to see you try," Goodness said, laughing insanely before she vanished before their very eyes.

"Did we just lose?" Oliver asked after a moment and Kara didn't have an answer.

Halliwell Manson

Shortly after

Paige Orbed into the attic, where Clark and her sisters were waiting for her.

"Okay, I got Leo and the boys settled in at Magic School. Now what?" Paige asked as she looked around, seeing the looks on their faces. "What?"

"Well, we were talking and Piper brought up a good point," Clark said with a look at the eldest Halliwell.

"Zankou had Tim killed so he could bring him back to torment Phoebe. I'm thinking that he's going to do the same thing to Joanna," Piper started.

"Great, so now I'm gonna be the one he tries to drive nuts?" Paige asked angrily.

"But this might give us an advantage. Whitlighters can sense their charges, right?" Piper asked and Paige caught on.

"Leo said it takes time, I didn't feel anything when Joanna…" Paige trailed off, looking pained.

"Paige, we have to try something. We can't keep walking on eggshells, waiting for Zankou's next trick," Phoebe pointed out and Paige sighed, knowing she was right.

"Okay…okay. But I'm not even sure how to do it," Paige pointed out.

"When my super hearing started coming in, I had to focus on one thing. Maybe something similar will work for you. Try and focus on Joanna, just block everything else out," Clark told her.

Paige looked at him wearily but sighed before closing her eyes, concentrating as she thought only of Joanna. After a few moments, her eyes snapped open.

"I know where she is.

Cemetery

Not long after

Paige Orbed the four of them to where the Alchemist had been operating, seeing Joanna's body laid out on a stone slab.

"Oh God, that's her," Paige said horrified.

Joanna's eyes then opened and she turned her head, smiling menacingly. "Miss me?"

Clark wobbled, feeling weak before falling to his knees as the room was filled with green light. The sisters whirled around to see Alicia standing behind them, holding a glowing green rock and flanked by Tim and Davidson.

"Alicia," Clark groaned.

"Sorry Clark, but we can't have you stopping us," Alicia said remorselessly.

"It's time for payback!" Davidson snarled.

"Look, we don't want to hurt you," Phoebe tried to caution them.

"A little late for that," Tim sneered.

"You guys have to get out of here," Clark groaned.

"Not until we deal with the Alchemist," Piper said firmly.

"I see my reputation proceeds me," the Alchemist said as he stepped into view. "But if you want to get to me, you have to get through them."

He waved his hands and four more undead people appeared in front of him.

"These are all innocents I've lost," Piper said pale as they advanced.

"That's right. You all have done a Hell of a lot of damage in your time," Davidson sneered.

"Seriously, have you done any good at all!?" Tim snarled.

"No, they just go on, forgetting about the people who die in their line of work," Alicia sneered, teleporting in front of Clark, who groaned at the close contact with the Kryptonite. "Isn't that right Clark? You just forgot about me. How you abandoned me, left me to die!"

Alicia then kicked Clark in the abdomen and he went on his side, gasping for breath. Paige moved to help him but Joanna was behind her, striking her with enough force that it sent Paige falling on her side.

"Friend my ass," she scoffed.

Phoebe was sent flying from a strike from Davidson while Piper grabbed a flaming force using it to fend off the zombies.

"Yes, yes my children! Good!" the Alchemist laughed insanely as the zombies grabbed Phoebe and threw her onto the stop slab.

"Alicia, this has to stop. This isn't you," Clark groaned before she kicked him again.

"Oh this is exactly me Clark. You always tried to see the good in me, but Lana and Jason were right about me the whole time. I am a monster," Alicia laughed wickedly.

Seeing Joanna on top of Paige, trying to drive a stake into Paige's heart while Phoebe was being joked and Piper was struggling to drive off the zombies, Clark knee what he had to do. Looking over at the Alchemist, Clark narrowed his eyes, managing to shoot off a blast of Heat Vision. The Alchemist wasn't didn't even see it coming until it hit him and he cried out in agony before he was vanquished, disappearing into dust.

Immediately, his effects were felt. The zombies all fell to the floor, no longer anything more than bodies. Paige tossed Joanna off her as Piper ran over to Phoebe, helping untangle her from the zombies. Alicia's body fell to the floor, dropping the Kryptonite. Paige raced over, kicking it away before helping Clark to his feet.

"You alright?" Paige asked in concern.

"No," Clark said honestly as he looked down at Alicia's body. "You?"

"No," Paige echoed as Piper and Phoebe joined them.

"Well done," the four of them looked over to see Zankou standing in the doorway, smirking at them smugly. "You saved me the trouble of killing the Alchemist myself."

"You're gonna pay for what you've done," Clark almost snarled, filled with rage at the sight of him.

"Perhaps, but not before you see all that you love torn away. It's over Kal-El, Darkseid and I have won," Zankou boasted before disappearing in a flash of fire.

"Darkseid?" Paige asked startled.

"They're working together. That's why he's been going after me," Clark said horrified.

"What did he mean by they've already won?" Phoebe asked confused.

"I don't know, but I don't like it," Piper said, filled with a bad feeling.

Halliwell Manor

Not long after

"Why can't we just vanquish Zankou the same way we vanquished The Source?" Paige wondered as they walked into the attic.

"He'll be ready for that. That's why we need something new," Phoebe disagreed.

"Guys, I think I know what he meant when he said they'd already won," Clark said, paling as he stared ahead.

The sisters followed his gaze, all of them horrified to see that the Book of Shadows was gone.

"He has the Books of Shadows," Clark finished.

"How'd he even get it?" Phoebe wondered.

"Doesn't matter, he's got in now. Question is what's he gonna do with it?" Piper wondered.

"I'm more worried about what Darkseid may want with the Book. If he has the Book of Shadows, we will all pay," Clark said grimly.

Underworld

Same time

Zankou was sitting down, going through the book as he laughed manically.

"Now, the fun really begins," Zankou said ominously.

We're in the Endgame now.

No, Kara didn't leave and yes, she will be taking part in the final fight against Darkseid.
