Toji's pov

"Some idiot tried to use my body and ended up getting controlled by me instead. Nothing too crazy. Still... you look like you got your ass handed to you. Was the guardian that powerful? " Toji asked as he watched Gojo quickly stand up and use his cursed technique. While Toji himself could not see cursed energy around Gojo, he could feel the small differences in the air around the jujutsu sorcerer.

'Seems like he wants to fight, or maybe he's just trying to look through. That's useless at this point though. ' Toji thought as he stopped spinning his cursed tool. He turned to the castle nearby and started making his way to it.

Gojo watched with a sense of dread as Toji got closer to the door. "Where the hell are you going?! " Gojo screamed as he used a blue attack to crush Toji's right leg.

Gojo didn't expect to actually do any damage. Toji had already proved to be capable to dodge those attacks when they fought, years before Ainz showed up. Now that he was tired, it was even harder to believe that Toji would have any difficulties moving away from the attack, but Gojo was desperate and had to do something.

Toji, however, wasn't in such a bad situation as Gojo was. He simply moved slightly to the side by doing a small jump, of course to anyone else, he looked like a blur. 'This is my chance to get a lead on this idiot. 'Toji thought as he continued walking to the door. Blue crushed the air where Toji was leading Gojo to try again.

"I wouldn't if I were you... " Toji said in a harsh and cold tone. He stopped walking for a second and turned his body to Gojo. Toji's sclera, the white portion of a person's eye, was jet black while his pupil was white. He never looked more like a monster than now, but to Gojo, the look in Toji's eyes was the most human that the had ever seen.

"Take your time to heal here and then try to catch up to me. That's the plan you should be following right now, you morron. " Toji said with a calm and collected voice. He didn't look like he was talking down to Gojo nor was he trying to be friendly. It was professional advice that someone would give to someone they deeply respected.

"So you can gain a huge lead on me and then get the prize?! No, thank you. Still, you look completely different from before, did dying make you carrying? " Gojo asked as he relaxed his posture and called back the cursed energy that was surrounding him.

Toji laughed at that comment, "What about you? I know you took really good care of my son for the past few years. Don't worry, I won't take advantage of your weakened state. " Toji said as he waited for the inevitable reaction on Gojo's face.

"How do you know about that? " Gojo asked with a half-amused half confused expression.

It was not hard for Toji to figure out his son was not only alive but close to Gojo. When he took over the body, he quickly scanned over the memory from the previous days so he could catch up to what was going on immediately. He not only saw the meeting between the curse users and the cursed spirits, but he was also aware of the strategies they were imploying, their game, and of course, his opponents.

"You had Megumi in your team too right? You ran in with him and another chick, right? Not hard to figure out he was my son once I knew about the presence of someone capable of using the Ten Shadows. " Toji said as he turned his back to Gojo and continued walking to the door. Once there, he rested the palm of his hand on the doorknob, but instead of turning it, Toji took a step back, rotated his body, and delivered a powerful kick ripping the door out of the frame and throwing it into the teleportation zone.

"Well... since you want to move on to the deeper layers I'm sure you don't want to meet your son. So... what are you planning on doing here anyways? " Gojo asked as he watched the door disappear.

Toji glanced over to Gojo while showing off a big smile on his face. "I'll use my wish to make the Ten Shadows disappear from this world. That's my ultimate present to that trash clan. " Toji said as he walked into the teleportation zone.

"Good, I thought you would want to bring yourself back to life or something... " Gojo said. Toji gave one final nod to Gojo before disappearing.

'Well... even if I don't pursue him immediately I doubt he can make it to the seventh layer that fast. I can't stand it, but I'm better off recovering here for a while. ' Gojo thought as he looked at the teleportation zone. He then walked to the staircase and set down on one of the steps.

"So this is the sixth layer, huh? " Toji said out loud as he looked at the huge forests all around him. He quickly jumped up using the branches of the trees so that the could get a better view of the area.

'Let's see, tree, tree, tree, more tree. Hey, there's a huge stone thing to the south, tree, tree, tree, bigger huge hollow-looking tree to the southeast. Hmm... I think I'm gonna go with stone looking thing for now. ' Toji thought as he started jumping from tree to tree in a straight path toward the only building he could spot.

Toji continued jumping ahead by using the trees as platforms. Never touching the ground unless absolutely necessary. 'Hmm... I wonder how long it will take until I get attacked. ' Toji thought as his progress began to feel a little too fast. He had cleared a least two kilometers without any disturbance and it was extremely odd. 'Even the layers where the guardian was already dead had some curses rooming about, but for some reason, nothing came up here? '

He continued making his way until something finally happened. One of the tree branches grabbed him by the foot and tried to throw him backward, but Toji was much faster than the curse and before the tree could even begin its motion, the branch was cut by a strike from Playful Cloud. 'There we go. ' Toji thought as he quickly moved his body in mid-air by placing the cursed tool around the curse and then using it to change direction.

A sharp sound was followed by a small gust of wind. 'A projectile? ' Toji thought as he moved his cursed tool once more. He positioned it so that he would be thrown up and away from the curse who just attacked him right into another tree.

Toji quickly pulled Playful Cloud back to his hand and then used it to strike the tree in front of him creating a pathway to the other side which he quickly used to get away from whoever was aiming at him. 'Let's see now. The attack came from there which means the curse should be to the south, but-' A second projectile passed right in front of Toji who had no other choice but to block.

The cursed tool released a harsh scraping sound as the projectile hit it and the amount of power behind the attack forced Toji backward into the tree. 'They are strong. Whoever this curse is. ' Toji thought as he turned around and opened his legs. He pressed his legs onto the trunk which forced him to stop moving and then he contorted his body right away allowing another projectile to nearly miss him. 'Alright, that's three now. Why can't I find the curse? '

Toji fell to the ground while closely watching for a follow-up attack, but when nothing came, he decided to continue running in the direction he was already going. 'Let's see if you can keep up with my speed then. '

As soon as Toji started running away, three other curses began their pursuit. Of course, Toji immediately could tell that something was after him and that was the plan, to bait their attacks and then swiftly end them so that Toji could clear the floor, but the one who was attacking him up until now didn't fall for it.

[Message]

"Mare, the intruder is going to the swamp northwest of your position. My pets are after him, but he looks kinda strong so I'll need you to call back the weaker creatures on the layer and bring them there. " The dark elf-looking curse said as it watched Toji running away. She was a small girl wearing a white suit with a red shirt underneath.

"What?! No, he didn't see me and... of course I can beat him, but I want to be smart about this." The elf girl said as she pouted her cheeks and kicked the floor. "Huh?! What do you mean you don't want to come out here?! What?! You don't want mud on your clothes?! Who cares! "

The girl took a deep breath before saying, "Okay... hm... alright. So you prepare them in the amphitheater while I see if I can soften him up outside. Right. Bye. " The girl said before jumping after Toji, but she had completed the first, she heard a ringing noise inside her ears.

"What? " The girl said as she had to stop mid-air by grabbing a tree branch. "Yeah... no. It wasn't that woman we were supposed to hide. No, I don't have to check again. No, I still have those disgusting fingers right here in my pouch. I know... I know... Now do your job and let me do mine. "

And with that, she was finally able to pursue Toji.

Maki's pov

'That gigantic thing must be going after someone. Should I go and attempt to find a weakness or something? ' Maki thought as she quickly slashed through a curse who was hiding inside a stone wall near Ieri. 'The doctor can't defend herself, so keeping her safe is a priority. '

Gargantua pulled its arm backward, " It's going to attack. Something of that size is bound to release a huge shockwave too. Ieri! " Maki grabbed her teammate and jumped forwards as fast as she could. She was trying to create some distance between themselves and the guardian in case it decided to target them next.

"Maki, it's probably targeting someone from jujutsu high. We have to get closer not- " Ieri was unable to finish her sentence when she saw that Maki was biting her lips. There was no need to say anything, Maki knew what she was going to say. Ieri then moved her lips once more only to stop right before saying anything. Even if they went there, there was little that Maki could do while protecting Ieri.

The thought of what would happen to the battlefield after a single attack from Gargantua made Maki shiver with fear, while she was confident that she could dodge it somehow or at least mitigate it. If the attack was targeting Ieri, it would be a completely different story. "Ieri, we're gonna find a good hiding spot for now and then I'll go help. Okay? "

Ieri looked into Maki's eyes which were completely focused on the guardian's fist as it slowly started moving forward. While it did look slow, it was only because of its size. Maki and Ieri knew about it. The amount of power behind that strike would surely crush anything in its path making it impossible to block. 'Could it be Hakari? Megumi? Nobara? Maybe Yuta? Whoever it is... please dodge. ' Ieri thought as the creature extended its arm.

The arm slowly made its way to the ground and soon after they felt the ground shaking. The attack felt slow but at the same time fast, the huge noise and the dust flowing upward gave a very harsh empathy on the guardian's strength. 'So that's a guardian... ' Maki thought as she saw Gargantua remain in the same position instead of quickly pulling back its arm.

"Let's go, Ieri. " Maki said as she continued running. "Whether it's taking some time before doing a follow-up attack or it's trying to find someone else to attack or something else entirely, we have to take advantage of the situation. "

Ieri nodded right after taking a deep breath. This was not the first time, but someone probably just died right now. 'That attack's range was too great. It must have crushed whoever it hit- '

"Arrrrr... " The Guardian released a soft metallic sound from its mouth as something incredible happened. Gargantua pulled back its arm which quickly began to break apart. Several pieces that were too small for anyone to see from that distance started falling as many cracks started forming. Of course, only Maki was capable of spotting such small details from such a great distance.

"The guardian received some damage. " Maki said as she continued watching from afar.

The cracks kept going until they finally reached the elbow and then they stopped. A few seconds later, Gargantua used its other arm to smack the one that was hurt. It was as if something was climbing up its body.

"Someone is still fighting it. " Ieri said as she noticed the guardian's speed increase.

"Quick. Let's find a place for you to hide so that I can help them. " Maki said as she started moving to the guardian's location.

Megumi's pov

[Mahoraga]

Megumi summoned a new shikigami which was unlike any other he had ever summoned before. The creature had four wings on its head, a sword attached to its arm, and of course, the most significant thing aspect, a huge wheel on its back.

"Mahoraga... it's a shikigami which I have no control over and must be first defeated in combat so that I can use it. No one in my family has ever been able to defeat it even though you can have one other person help during the fight. Thankfully though, the other person doesn't have to be willing to participate in the ritual. " Megumi said as he watched Gargantua's fist moving toward him.

"Normally I wouldn't have a chance at defeating it, but a powerful guardian like yourself... maybe it's possible. Come on then. Show me how strong a guardian is. " Megumi said as he sat down on the floor. Nobara, who was right behind him, understood it perfectly, that was the last thing Megumi could do.

The huge range made it impossible for either of them to dodge the attack. It was also obvious that it had the power to level this entire portion of the layer which meant that running now was just a waste of time. "Go. Go. Mahoraga. Show the stupid curse who's boss. " Nobara said as she watched the shikigami glance at Megumi.

Mahoraga's first instinct was to attack the summoner. While every Zennin before had never attempted to complete the ritual alone, this was an automatic response and therefore, it never tried to go after anyone else until a few minutes after the fight had begun. This time, however, things were different. One glance was enough for the shikigami to turn its attention to Gargantua.

The guardian was about to collide with Mahoraga, which meant that the shikigami couldn't go after the summoner yet. '...' Mahoraga's instincts quickly told it what to do. There was no way of dodging the attack and blocking it was also extremely difficult.

The shikigami opened its arms and legs. With a wide stance, it planned on tanking the hit and then attack... somehow. It took a few seconds before the fist was about to hit Mahoraga, who kept a rigid open stance in order to receive the attack.

Right before the fist landed, however, Mahoraga changed positions by jumping forward. The shikigami used the extra momentum to push the fist backward and when that wasn't enough anymore, it placed both of its feet on the floor and started pushing it once more. The initial rush failed, however, it actually was able to halt Gargantua's movement to a near stop, before the guardian's speed started increasing again.

Gargantua or Mahoraga, it was clear who had the power advantage. Nevertheless, they fought to see which one was superior. Mahoraga's pushed Gargantua as hard as it could while at the same time, the shikigami was slowly pushed into the ground. First the legs, then the hips, and eventually the entire body.

While watching the struggle, Megumi finally saw an opportunity to escape. Right after the initial strike, when Gargantua had yet to start pushing forward again. He formed a hand sign and summoned his shikigami.

[Nue]

Unlike when he used the normal shikigami, Mahoraga still allowed the jujutsu sorcerer to use other shikigami without any problem. This was the only way he had to fight after all so the ritual had to accommodate. "Nobara! " Megumi screamed as Nue flew in grabbing both him and Nobara. It then started flying as fast as it could.

When Gargantua finally started pushing forward, Mahoraga proved to be strong enough to slow down the attack to around 60% of its original speed, it became possible for them to dodge the initial strike by flying away and then, after clinging to the wall, they would allow Nue to recover. While that happened, they would use the wall to stay far away from the resulting shock wave, which was bound to appear once the fist connected to the ground. At that point, they would simply jump on Nue and fly for as long as they could. If Mahoraga held the strike back for enough time, they could survive.

Just as Megumi had predicted, Mahoraga held on for a good amount of time before being buried underneath the gigantic fist. The shikigami had bought enough time for him to avoid the direct strike. The resulting shockwave, however, was another problem that he was barely able to avoid by grabbing onto the wall, jumping away at the last possible moment, and finally gliding to the floor. It was not enough time for Nue to recover so the landing would be pretty harsh, but they had survived.

Gargantua held the position for a while. This was nothing new to the guardian who, after defeating its target, was programmed to immediately search for another one without doing any extra movements so that it could spare as much energy as possible, but this time, it was different. The guardian knew that the target was not done yet.

Mahoraga's wheel started spinning. Even though it was underground, the shikigami didn't feel bothered in the slightest, as it simply moved and prepared its next move. Its stats changed a bit as soon as the wheel stopped moving. '... ' A new strategy emerged from its instincts. The shikigami moved its arm and then pierced its blade deep within the guardian's fist.

Gargantua received a damage report. '...' The guardian knew that the target had not been destroyed, but the damage was unexpected. Instead of driving the fist further into the ground, it decided to pull its arm back and then continue its assault as it prepared to deliver another punch. A punch carrying the full swing of Gargantua's arm seemed more appropriate than the weight behind a single arm.

Mahoraga, however, didn't leave an opening for the guardian. The shikigami used its sword to attach itself to the fist and was pulled up alongside the arm, which gave a small opening for Mahoraga who immediately tried to pierce its free arm into the fist so that it could pull back the blade without falling.

When Mahoraga's arm hit Gargantua, instead of piercing through, it broke. It was like seeing a hydrolytic press crushing someone's hand, that was the difference between them, and that was the resulting damage to the shikigami who immediately gave up on the idea.

Mahoraga already had two crushed legs from before which were being healed at that very moment and now it also had a hand to fix. Gargantua was about to go for another punch when it realized that the target was no longer on the floor. It didn't take too much time to understand where it went though, as the guardian quickly began to move its other hand aiming at the fist.

The shikigami, who was still not healed, had no other choice, but to go on the offensive. The wheel spun once again, changing its stats, which allowed Mahoraga to quickly turn the blade while it was inside the guardian. Right after that, a huge shockwave traveled up from the entry point.

Gargantua saw its first outer layer crumbling before attempting to mitigate the damage. It felt some kind of power rushing traveling through its arm. The guardian quickly focused there so that it could expel whatever energy the target had implanted in it. The shockwave finally stopped around the elbow, but now there were cracks along the outer layer of the guardian.

While it barely represented a few hundred points of damage, it was a major success for Megumi, who couldn't believe what he was seeing. 'Mahoraga damaging that thing or the fact that the guardian looks mostly okay after getting hit... which one of those is the most unbelievable? ' Megumi asked himself as he fell to the ground alongside Nobara.

Mahoraga quickly pulled its sword back from the fist and started making its way up the arm. '...' The shikigami knew that it was fighting something akin to a cursed spirit thanks to the chain reaction from the reversed cursed energy it pumped into the thing, but the fact that it was stopped right away meant that it needed a change of tactics.

The wheel spun once more as Mahoraga finally got on Gargantua's backhand and started running using its arms as legs since the damage was not yet fully healed. '...' The damage report showed minimal damage, but to the guardian, the chain reaction was something very dangerous.

Unfortunately, unlike the other guardians, Gargantua was not a sentient being nor had intelligence in the normal meaning of the word. Back in Yygdrasil, it was a golem and thus it had to follow a program. Even then, the neural network it had was capable of understanding that the target was no longer just a weakling and it started to run a few simulations while fighting.

If that chain reaction was closer to the core, the damage would be much higher. That was the Neural network's output once it finished processing the simulations, which lead the guardian to smack Mahoraga away as fast as it could.

The shikigami immediately recognized the attack and jumped over the hand. It landed on top of the other arm and began running to where the cursed energy was denser, it didn't know what that was, but Mahoraga was actually targeting where the core of the guardian was. The guardian quickly realized that.

Gargantua released the power limitation it had, which allowed for much faster movements and a faster response from the neural network. The guardian then took a step backward and dropped its arm. Mahoraga was caught off guard by the sudden increase in speed and was left suspended in the air for a few moments before Gargantua raised the arm once more hitting the shikigami and throwing it upwards.

"Megumi, why are we stopping?!" Maki said as Nue disappeared and Megumi stopped running. She was being carried away by Nue while Megumi was running to escape, or at least that was what she thought, but for some reason, Megumi dispelled the technique and just turned around.

"If I go too far, Mahoraga might decide to ignore the guardian and go after me instead. I have to stay within a certain range. Sorry, but my other shikigami have limited ranges too, if you want to escape, it will have to be on your own." Megumi said as he glanced at Nobara.

Nobara shook her head and smiled. "Well... it's not like I can run that far anyways. Between the other curses on this layer, my poor mobility, and the guardian who is bound to catch up eventually, unless someone helps me get away, I'm probably doomed. " Nobara said as she sat down on the floor.

"Sorry. " Megumi said as he turned his attention back to the fight.
