Triton make a mental note to never accept anything from Nereus ever again. Particularly if it was consumable goods, no matter how good it taste.
Or playing with his Cyclops half-brothers without wearing safety gear. Headgear, especially.
Why?
Because for some reason, he was in what he suspects as Demigod Dream (he is a god, minor one, but still a god, why he got demigod dream? Is this even within realm of possibility?).
In the dream, he was standing (floating? He still get his tails but he was able to move as if he's swimming underwater-how convenient. Legs are pain to use) inside a bus. And not a good one either.
No. This one is old, smelly, and in dire need of long stay at garage for thorough check up.
What caught his interest (and annoyance) is a boy who share same eyes as him, and practically splitting image of his father.
Triton tries to dismiss it as coincidence. Probably child of another sea god. Or maybe descendant who got lucky in lottery at birth. Things like that does happens once in a while. His father got spawns that survive adulthood amidst war, or at least long enough to create family line.
Except something tells him that it was not the case. The similarity was too uncanny to be anything but direct relation. And Triton would have to be blind, deaf, and dumb to not recognize the untapped power of the sea within the demigod's body.
Triton buried his face at his palms. Great. His father broke the oath. It's a surprise he last this long… what? 30-40 years? Though to be fair… he just follows Zeus' example.
Seriously, why can't he follow example of Lord Hades instead? Despite the gloom and doom, Lord Hades is a better role model, both as god and as a ruler. And he is Father's elder brother to boot.
"Looking for Kindly Ones?"
Triton nearly fell over when he heard his half-brother ask that kind of question. When and where did he encounter a Kindly Ones?! He thought it was just a mean prank (won't be the first time. Their family do have history of dark jokes), but seeing the Satyr tried to gaslight Triton's Brother (Percy, his name is Percy. Triton will save it for later) and failing at that make Triton twitched.
He has no love for his mortal half siblings. Some of them are more hassle than their worth. But a pre-adolescent encounters a Kindly One? Now that… is different matter entirely.
At least Percy manages to hide away from the Kindly Ones. Triton have met them and he can say for sure that they are Nasty with Capital N. Something one has to expect from Lord Hades' torturers and Nyx's children. An untrained twelve years old child (untrained because Triton dare to bet Percy doesn't have a single combat muscle in him) cannot face a Fury and live to tell a tale.
Surely he can't.
Right?
The bus then abruptly stopped. Ugh. Mortal transportation.
Triton floated, following his half-brother and his Satyr friend. He grimaced at the roadside. If only there is a river there then maybe he can stand it. Or maybe it was good thing there is no river. Just look at these litters! Human can be such a disgusting thing!
"Grover? Hey, man—"
"Tell me they're not looking at you. They are. Aren't they?"
Triton turned around to escape the pain seeing nature getting destroyed, and to see what scared the Satyr.
When he saw what sit across the lane make him wish for Kindly Ones. Or a furious Artemis. Hell, he even take Zeus over them!
"The FATES?!" He screeched. "What the- What are- Why they- HOW?!"
And as if he tempts them to make thing worse, they all staring at Percy.
"No." He begs. "No no no no no."
"We're getting on the bus," the Satyr insisted. "Come on."
"What?" Percy balked. "It's a thousand degrees in there."
"Come on!"
"Brother, I beg you. Please listen to your Satyr friend." Triton begs. Hoping that it was just "accident" and not what he feared of.
To his frustration and fear, Percy remains rooted in his place.
A shear is pulled.
Triton's complexion turned into sickly pale.
"NO!"
As much as he loathes the product of his father's infidelity (especially demigods because father sometimes like them more than he does towards him), he would never wish any of them to meet their end at tender age of twelve.
"Lady Fates! I beg you! Have mercy! He is only twelve! Please don't cut his life string just yet!" He cries.
The shear is positioned.
"No no no no NO! NOT HIM, NOT HIM PLEASE!"

Down at the Underwater Palace's Infirmary, the Prince of Atlantis wake up screaming.
