Here we are at Chapter 86. I actually managed to come up with another filler chapter for this story before we get into volume 6. Time for a little more fun. I do not own RWBY or Tales of Berseria. They belong to their respective owners. Here's chapter 86. Enjoy.

Chapter 86: Down the Mistral Road

"The train to Argus will be here in a few days. So, everyone got everything they needed packed up?" Qrow asks.

Right now, everyone is at the house, all together in the living room, going over a few things for the trip to Argus.

"Yeah, there are just a few things left to take care of, but we got mostly everything ready to go?" Ruby says.

"How about you Yang? Your bike ready to go?" Qrow asks.

"Yeah, I just need to go fuel it up in town. Had to use a lot of gas to get through Mistral until we found my mom and took the shortcut to you guys," Yang says.

"Okay, there are a few stations in Mistral you can go to. Okay, well you guys have a little time left before we have to leave, so make sure you're all ready to go before it arrives," Qrow says.

"Okay, so what do we do until then, though?" Oscar asks.

"Well, I've never been to Mistral before, so I would love to check out the sights while I'm out after I fuel up Bumblebee," Yang points out.

"In that case, I'll go with you. I'm not that familiar with this kingdom, but I have done some research on it back at Beacon. I could help you out with that," Weiss offers.

"Sweet, then it's another date," Yang winks at her, making Weiss smile.

"Okay, well, I'm taking Oscar around town since he's never been to Mistral and I know the area," Jaune says, and Oscar nods.

"Thank you," Oscar says.

"I'd like to check out the local book store if possible," Blake says.

"Then that leaves Ruby and I. And let me guess, you'll go out drinking, won't you?" Velvet asks Qrow.

"...Maybe," Qrow retorts.

"Okay, well Nora and I were gonna head out, so if you want to join us Blake, you're more than welcome to," Ren offers.

"Thanks, Ren. I appreciate it," Blake agrees.

"Okay, then I guess we have our plans settled before the trip," Qrow says.

Later that day, Yang and Weiss drive Bumblebee through town, heading to a local gas station to fuel up before taking a little trip around the town.

"So, you're the expert. What's a good dating spot in Mistral?" Yang asks.

"Okay, when I said I did research on Mistral, it was on its history and geography, not on its prime dating locations," Weiss says.

"Oh come on, that's one of the most important things to look into when visiting a new kingdom," Yang says.

"Well then, we'll just have to figure that out after we get your motorcycle taken care of," Weiss says.

The pair stop at the gas station and it only takes a couple of minutes to get business done there. After that, they head to one spot to get some food, specifically a joint that's known for its pizza and pasta.

"Would this work for you?" Yang asks.

"I suppose it will do. Come on, let's eat," Weiss says.

They get in without much issue and find a table.

"Alright, then let's eat," Yang says.

Meanwhile, Ren, Nora, and Blake are at a local bookstore, with Blake checking out the books while Ren makes sure that Nora doesn't cause any kind of commotion that will get them kicked out.

"The place has a good selection here," Blake notes as she scrolls through the books.

"Mistral is the largest kingdom on Remnant. What's more, while Atlas is known for its technology, Vale is known for its diverse community, and Vacuo is known for its rough-and-tough environment, Mistral is known for its art and culture. There are plenty of novelists that began their careers here," Ren explains, while Nora reads a book about animals.

"I wish the book store at Vale had this kind of selection. I bet Yang wouldn't be so keen on coming here," Blake says, but then looks a little melancholy.

Ren places a supportive hand on her shoulder, "Hey, You may still be having a hard time realizing it, but believe me when I say that Yang IS happy to have you back. Yang, Weiss, Ruby, and Velvet; they're all glad to have you back, to have their team back together. They missed you, just like I know you missed them. There's nothing to be worried about now," Ren calms her worries.

Blake smiles, "Thanks Ren. If it helps, I did miss you guys too. And I never got to say it before but... I'm sorry about Pyrrha," Blake says.

Nora joins them as they all have a silent moment to remember Pyrrha.

"She only did what she felt was right. Like a huntress. And our friend," Ren says as Nora puts a hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah. Friends," Blake mutters.

"And it's because of her... that we can keep moving forward," Ren says, smiling.

With Ruby and Velvet, they are in the park, taking a stroll through a public flower garden there. Ruby enjoys seeing all of the flowers in different colors, particularly all the roses in different colors there.

"They're so beautiful. Right, Velvet?" Ruby asks as she leans close to the flowers.

Velvet shrugs her shoulders, "Eh, I've seen prettier roses," she notes.

"What? Where? From your world maybe?" Ruby asks.

Velvet smiles and leans down to pull out a pretty red rose, making sure to get rid of any thorns with her arm blade. She then places the rose on Ruby's right ear, making the younger girl blush.

"The only rose I care about is MY rose. Although, you do look cute with that in your hair," Velvet says.

Ruby blushes as her eyes sparkle a bit from Velvet's compliment. Ruby leans up and kisses her. The two separate and continue on their walk, enjoying the rest of the garden until they find a bench to sit on with no one else around. It's just the two of them, and that's just the way they like it.

"So, did you ever go to any place in your world that snowed a lot and was usually cold?" Ruby asks, leaning her head on Velvet's shoulder.

"Yes. There was this one village in the highlands where it snowed for most of the year at least. Truth be told, when we got there, it was purely by accident because of bad weather that ended up wrecking the ship I stole. Rokurou and Magilou were with me at the time, and I hadn't met the others yet, as I remember telling you before back at Beacon," Velvet says.

"Yeah, but there was just so much to process when you told me about your past, it was hard to remember everything," Ruby says.

"Reminds me of when Weiss would force you into one of her study sessions to make sure you were keeping your grades up," Velvet says.

"I got moved ahead two years, okay! I ended up missing out on a lot of stuff," Ruby retorts.

"I'm didn't mean anything by it. Just saying. At least you were doing better with your grades than Yang or Jaune," Velvet notes.

"Yang never was good with studying," Ruby jokes a bit.

Velvet chuckles, "Yes, anyway, I have been to cold places before. Since I was a demon, I couldn't really feel the cold, unless it got really cold. Not to mention, my clothes at the time didn't help, but there wasn't much I could do about that at the time. These new clothes I got may work for here in Mistral. From what I remember, it snows in the northern section of the continent this time of year. As for Atlas, we'll figure that out when we get there," Velvet explains.

"Well, until then, I just want to enjoy this moment for right now," Ruby says, snuggling closer to Velvet.

Velvet leans in and smiles, "Remember what I said: you are my heart, Ruby Rose," she says, kissing her hair.

"And you are my sweetheart, Velvet Crowe," Ruby replies.

"I thought that was Crescent Rose?" Velvet jokes.

"Well, yes, Crescent Rose is my sweetheart, but that doesn't mean I love my weapon more than I love you. I love you more, it's just that I-," Ruby rambles on before Velvet stops her with a finger to her lips.

"I know what you mean, Ruby. I love you too," Velvet says.

The couple share another kiss, enjoying the moment again.

Back with Yang and Weiss, the pair are just leaving the pasta shop and hopping onto Bumblebee.

"Well, the food there was pretty good," Yang notes.

Weiss hops on behind her, "Yes, I told you that this place comes highly recommended to those new to Mistral. So, shall we head back to the house?" Weiss asks.

"Nah, we still have some time left, so how about a little drive on our way back home?" Yang suggests.

"Yang Xiao Long, if you even THINK about going thirty miles over the speed limit and giving me a panic attack, I will freeze you to your motorcycle," Weiss warns her.

"Don't worry, I wouldn't do that... for now anyway," Yang says, muttering the last part to herself.

"What was that?" Weiss glares at her.

"Nothing!" Yang quickly says and starts Bumblebee.

The pair drive down the road, with Yang finding a scenic route though a local park. Despite what she might show on the outside, Weiss enjoys the feeling of her arms wrapped around Yang's torso, feeling her hard, strong abs through her clothes. She leans in close, feeling Yang's soft hair tickle her face, and enjoying the warmth of her body and aura against her own. Weiss sighs in bliss, though not soft enough where Yang can't hear her. Now, normally Yang would take this opportunity to tease Weiss, but decides to give her a break this time around. There will be time for teasing later.

"Gotta admit, Mistral's got some cool places to check out around her," Yang says.

"Of course, would I ever steer you wrong?" Weiss says.

"Nope, never," Yang says.

After a while, they are the first ones back home, parking Bumblebee and heading inside.

"I guess the others haven't gotten back yet. Well, that just means we have the place to ourselves for a while," Yang says as she flops down on the couch in the living room.

"I would like to take this opportunity to study... but I don't have my books with me, and we're not at Beacon," Weiss says, feeling a little melancholy at thinking about their school.

Yang sees this and decides to cheer her up, "Come on, sit down," Yang says, patting the spot on the couch next to her.

Weiss accepts the offer and sits down, but then suddenly, Yang picks her up and places her on her lap, making Weiss straddle her.

"Yang, what are you-," Weiss begins.

"I miss Beacon, too. But one day, we'll go back. We'll take back our school, and finish our training, graduate, and then we'll see where the road takes us. So, don't worry about that for now, okay?" Yang says softly.

"Yang..." Weiss mutters, a blush forming upon her cheeks.

"Yeah, I miss Beacon. But the most important thing there wasn't the school, the teachers, or the classes and missions. It was you. You, Ruby, and Blake. My team. My family. That's what I missed the most. And now, we're all together again. So, as long as I have you, I'll be just fine," Yang says.

Weiss' hands rise to cup Yang's cheeks, "I don't think I'll ever figure out how someone like you could ever fall in love with someone like me," Weiss says.

"Because the only person I could ever fall in love with IS you," Yang replies.

Weiss leans down and kisses Yang, holding her cheeks in her hands, while Yang wraps her arms around Weiss' waste. The two continue to kiss, even as they move around with Yang laying on the couch and Weiss on top of her. The pair separate for air, staring lovingly and longingly into each other's eyes for a moment before they renew their kiss. Yang's hands slide up and down Weiss' back, sending pleasant shivers up her spine. Weiss starts to moan a bit into the kiss, while Yang smirks against her lips. The two separate again, a thin string of saliva the last thing that connects them.

"Um, maybe we should..." Weiss trails off.

"I got it," Yang replies, already knowing what she's getting at.

Yang sits up with Weiss on her lap and the two kiss again. Yang stands up and Weiss wraps her arms around her neck and her legs around Yang's hips while Yang holds her by her butt as they continue to kiss. Yang walks through the house until they reach their room, kicking the door open and walking inside while Weiss uses her semblance to close and lock the door. Yang lays Weiss down on the bed and straddles her, never once separating her lips from her girlfriend's. Good thing they have the house to themselves for a while longer.

Back with Blake, Ren, and Nora, the trio found some books for them and are getting ready to go pay for them (Well, Ren and Blake found some books, Nora found some complimentary cookies to sample).

"So, did you find what you're looking for?" Ren asks.

"No, but I found one book here that sounds really interesting. It's about a man that loses his family and goes on a quest for vengeance, but along the way learns that there's more to life than revenge. The main protagonist had been through much early in his childhood, and so he has a dark outlook on life, but he meets people that help him realize what's really important and regain his conscious. Honestly, it reminded me of Velvet when she told us her story," Blake describes the book.

"Velvet had been through much before she came here. But, thanks to the friends she made back in her world, she learned to embrace life again, and I think that was one of the reasons why Ruby's mother, Summer Rose, chose to revive her and bring her to our world," Ren replies.

"Yeah. She had been through much, and now she's here, and she's still going through much," Blake says.

"But, she won't have to go through it alone. None of us have to, right?" Ren asks.

Blake smiles, "Right... Wait, where's Nora?" Blake asks.

Ren and Blake look around for the sloth-loving girl, only to spot her... drinking a cup of coffee.

"Oh no..." Ren mutters in horror.

Meanwhile, Jaune and Oscar are waking around town as Jaune finishes up his tour of Mistral for Oscar.

"So, what did you think about the tour?" Jaune asks.

"It wasn't bad. I appreciate you taking the time to show me around, Jaune. I've never been to Mistral, or any kingdom or big city before," Oscar says.

"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it. However, I don't know that much about Atlas, so if you're looking for a tour there, then you're out of luck with me. But maybe Weiss can help you there," Jaune says.

"Thanks for the advice. Well, we should probably be heading back home," Oscar says.

"Good idea. The others should be back soon, too," Jaune concurs and the two make their way back home.

Ruby and Velvet make it back to the house, the rose Velvet gave her still in her hair as a little gift. They enter the house, only to find the place empty and quiet.

"Huh, I guess everyone's still out," Ruby notes.

"But, we both saw Yang's motorcycle outside, which means that she and Weiss should be here. But, knowing Yang, even when she's asleep, she would often make noise when she snores. They're probably somewhere around here. Oh well," Velvet notes.

"I'll go look for them," Ruby says and heads into the kitchen first.

Meanwhile, Velvet heads up stairs to check the rooms. However, as she gets closer to Yang and Weiss' room, she hears some noise. Specifically, some moaning and heavy breathing, which ends up with her blushing.

"Oh, you have got to be kidding me. And after all that crap she gave me about when Ruby and I did it," Velvet mutters.

"Velvet, did you check their room?" Ruby asks as she comes up.

Velvet's eyes go big and she quickly stops Ruby's advance, "Yeah, they're not here. Let's check out back," Velvet quickly says as she guides Ruby away.

"But, why?" Ruby asks.

"Just go!" Velvet says, ending the discussion.

A little later, Weiss and Yang exit their room, refreshed and dressed after their little... event. However, the second they do, they walk right into Velvet, who has her arms crossed and glares at them.

"What?" Yang asks.

"You guys owe me for making sure Ruby didn't hear you," Velvet says, making the pair blush.

"W-W-We didn't do anything!" Weiss quickly defends herself.

"Oh please, I could practically smell you two right now. Make sure you get rid of the scent before Ruby finds you. And after all that crap you gave me about how far I've gotten with Ruby," Velvet says and then walks away.

Yang watches her go before she notices Weiss glaring at her.

"Heh-heh-heh, I'm in trouble, aren't I?" Yang asks nervously.

"More than you know," Weiss mutters.

Downstairs, Velvet meets back up with Ruby, just in time to see Blake and Ren come in, with Ren carrying Nora on his back.

"What happened?" Ruby asks.

"Nora got us banned from the book store... for life after she destroyed it. We're never letting her have coffee... EVER AGAIN," Blake says.

And that's the chapter. Again, sorry about the late update. Had some things to do. Anyway, that's the last filler chapter before Volume 6. The gang have a little fun, Yang and Weiss take the next step, some more love moments for Ruby and Velvet, and Nora almost gets arrested. What awaits them on their way to Atlas? Until then, please Read and Review.
