Here we are at Chapter 89. Time for Velvet and the gang to learn the truth about Ozpin and Salem. Though, we won't really get to see how Velvet reacts to that until the next chapter. Anyway, I do not own RWBY or Tales of Berseria. They belong to their respective owners. Here's chapter 89. Enjoy.
Chapter 89: The Lost Fable
The group watch as Jinn tells her story, looking into the distant past and finding Salem as a human, with a fair complexion and blonde hair, wearing a regal looking dress, as she sits in a room in a high tower, near a lone window in the tower.
"Locked away by her cruel father, Salem was a girl who desired but one thing: freedom," Jinn narrates the story. Salem walks by Ruby, who watches her as she shows a sad expression upon her face. "She lived in a time when kings and their kingdoms were plentiful, when men and women were capable of greatness, and magic was a gift from the gods that all could wield," Jinn says.
"So, magic was a common thing long ago, unlike today, however," Velvet says as she takes Ruby's place.
Salem sits down and leans against the vanity. She holds her left hand and uses her magic to form four magical spheres in different colors appear above her hand.
"And yet, there she sat within her tower. Even with all that power, she was unable to do anything to change her fate," Jinn says. Salem drops her magic and looks away, the blue smoke reappearing as the scenery changes, reforming into the castle Salem resides in. Weiss appears now, looking at the castle. "Until one day, a legendary hero came to brave the challenges within the tower's walls," Jinn says.
Just then, a young man wearing intricate armor over a green shirt and black pants, and a cape, wielding a scepter in his left hand appears standing proudly in front of the tower. Weiss walks up to him.
"The people of the lands knew him as Ozma," Jinn says.
Weiss disappears, only for Qrow to appear and wave his hand in front of Ozma's face, only for Ozma to walk through Qrow like he's a ghost.
"Unlike those who had come before, this warrior was not driven by the prize of the young maiden's hand. He fought only for righteousness, and his pure heart and courageous soul prevailed," Jinn narrates.
As Ozma walks up to the tower, Blake appears and sees other warriors fall around Ozma in defeat and failure. Blue smoke reforms the area again, this time showing Ozma using his scepter to strike down a dark-armored being with red eyes. Ozma then opens up a door leading to Salem's room, where she stands up and offers a grateful smile to him. Blue smoke reforms the scene of them battling side by side with their magic powers as they fought to escape the castle.
"They escaped the wretched fortress, and yet something bound them together," Jinn says.
Smoke reforms the scene, showing Ozma and Salem running away from the tower holding hands together. Once they were sure they were safe, the two halt to catch their breath before looking into each other's eyes..
"Ozma had been ready to give his life for justice countless times, but now saw a woman worth saving it for. And Salem, to her surprise, found her freedom not in the outside world she had yearned for, but in the eyes of the man that had saved her," Jinn says.
"So, where should we go now?" Salem asks.
Ozma offers a hand to her, "Wherever you'd like," he offers, and she gratefully accepts.
"The two fell deeply in love, planned adventures around the world, and lived happily ever after," Jinn says.
Smoke envelops the environment around Ozma and Salem as the two hold hands. The two disappear into a bright light of white space.
"A fairytale story come to life, huh?" Velvet notes as she appears.
"Yes, a bed-time story made into a reality. Or at least that's what should have happened," Jinn says.
Blue smoke then reforms the scenery, showing Salem kneeling at an unconscious Ozma's bedside in their home. Salem cries as she holds Ozma's hand, his life coming to an untimely end.
"Ozma, the infallible hero of legend, fell ill. And where all the beasts and blades of the world had fallen short, a single sickness prevailed," Jinn says.
Ozma's body disappears as Salem continues sobbing, holding his scepter in her hands. Yang and Weiss watch her cry, actually feeling sorry for her. Weiss holds her arms and leans closer to Yang, who wraps her right arm around her waist, offering some form of comfort to her own love.
"How could the gods let this happen?" Salem cries.
As they look on, they notice two spheres - one bright yellow and the other a dark purple - circling above her.
"The god brothers, one of light and one of darkness, beings of creation and destruction. Salem prayed they would see the injustice that had befallen her love and make things right," Jinn says.
The two orbs encircling above lower down, with Yang and Weiss watching the two move in front of them. Blue smoke changes the scene again, this time showing a brightly lit place with a stairway leading up the mountain.
"The Domain of Light was a sacred place," Jinn says.
Salem walks up the stairway, carrying Ozma's scepter and flowers in her hands.
"It was here the elder brother, the god of light, dwelled beside his fountain of life and creation. It was here... where mankind would fall to ruin," Jinn says.
Ruby and Velvet watch Salem walk up the stairs as smoke changes the scenery again, with Salem reaching the top of the tall mountain as she looks upon the Domain of Light, a wide-open space with flowers, a pool of water and a tree at the center, and lays down the flowers at the edge of the pool. Leaves blow from the tree and encircles above the water, and from it, the God of Light rises from the pool, having a golden, human shape, and deer antlers on his head, though he seems to have no face. He walks forward to Salem.
"Please... Please, bring him back to me," Salem pleads, holding the scepter close.
"I understand your pain, but you demand of me that which I cannot make so. Life and death are part of a delicate balance," the God of Light says.
"So... you won't do it then?" Salem asks, shocked by his words.
"To disrupt the cycle of-," the God of Light begins.
"But that's not fair... That's not fair!" Salem yells, her voice echoing throughout the domain.
"Let. Him. Rest," the God of Light tells her, leaving no room for argument.
The wind picks up, causing leaves to blow around Salem. Suddenly, she finds herself back at the bottom of the stairway leading to the Domain of Light. She looks to Ozma's scepter before looking up at the sky in anger.
"No," Salem decides, while Ruby watches.
Blue smoke changes the scenery again, this time showing a dark, unholy place with a stairway leading up another mountain, with red, dark skies above, and everything here has little to no life left.
"The God of Darkness…" Jinn begins. Salem approaches some skeletal remains at the bottom of the stairs. "None dare to enter his home, as all knew what monstrosities emerged from his blackened pools of annihilation," Jinn says
Salem walks forth toward a blackened pool of tar-like liquid.
"And so, you must understand the Dark Lord's surprise when he found a lone woman kneeling before him," Jinn says.
From the blackened pool, the God of Darkness emerges, his body twisted and contorted, as if there are no bones beneath his godly flesh. Velvet stands behind Salem, watching the display with a slight look of disgust. The God of Darkness crawls toward Salem like some kind of creature. Salem then notices Grimm approaching her from behind, but remains where she is.
"Salem understood it well. She told him of her loss and professed that she knew only he could answer her prayers, all while careful to make no mention of his elder brother," Jinn explains as Salem talks to the god of darkness.
"Rise, child, and let your faith in me be rewarded," The God of Darkness says.
Salem stands. Qrow watches on as the God of Darkness conjures a purple sphere, making Ozma appear on the ground next to Salem. Salem kneels next to him, and Ozma comes back to life.
"Where am I? What is this?! WHERE AM I?!" Ozma yells frantically.
Salem smiles as she places a hand on his chest, "It's okay! Everything's going to be okay!" she says, overjoyed that he's back.
Just then, the God of Light appears with a sound of thunder at the top of the stairs leading into the God of Darkness' domain. Though his face doesn't show it, he is angry.
"What have you done?" the God of Light asks his brother.
"I have done what I please, brother. You may bask in the powers of creation, but you do not own them," the God of Darkness replies.
"This is not creation," his brother says.
"Do not lecture me!" the God of Darkness retorts as the Grimm slowly approach the God of Light.
"I will do what I must to maintain order," the God of Light says, putting his hand out, and an orange aura surrounds Ozma's body, making him disappear in Salem's arms.
Salem is shocked at losing her love once again, "No! No! What did you do?! BRING HIM BACK!" Salem shouts.
"You dare enter my domain and show such disrespect!" the God of Darkness says and makes Ozma reappear again, much to Salem's joy.
"I am abiding by the rules we agreed upon!" the God of Light argues.
"Rules that I now see are ever in your favor. And yet the day a mortal comes to pray at my feet before your own, so do you arrive to lay your judgment upon me!" the God of Darkness says.
The God of Darkness transforms into dragon-like form with skull-like head and a pair of curved horns, growling at his brother. The Grimm prepare to attack him, but a bright light emanates from him, destroying all the Grimm in the area. The God of Light then transforms into a bright, glorious East-Asian dragon. On the ground, Ruby and Velvet watch the scene unfold.
"I know we have our differences, but I have not come here with the aim to control you. The same, however, cannot said for her. This woman came to you only after I denied her pleas – pleas that would have disrupted the balance that you and I created. Together," the God of Light informs his brother.
The God of Darkness thinks for a moment, "...Then it seems I owe you an apology. Allow me to correct my mistake," he says and looks to the two mortals.
"No!" Salem yells in vain.
The God of Darkness fires a purple beam breath attack, disintegrating Ozma once again. Salem watches in dismay as Ozma's ashes blow away out of her hands, this time for good.
"You… You monsters! Give him back to me! GIVE HIM BACK!" Salem shouts as she stands up.
Salem activates her magic, only for the God of Light to fly forth and consume her.
Salem then wakes up falling from the sky. She is then submerged in the God of Light's pool, drowning as an aura-like shimmer covers her body. Suddenly, she finds herself on the surface of the water, catching her breath. She looks up and notices both of the God Brothers standing before her. Behind them all, Blake watches the scene.
"When you first came to me, I did pity you. But it is clear now that your selfishness and arrogance have led you astray," the God of Light says.
Salem stands back up, "What did you do to me?" she asks.
"I have made you immortal," the God of Light says.
"Immortal?" Salem asks.
"You cannot die, which means you cannot be with the man you love," the God of Darkness informs her.
"So long as this world exists, so shall you," both Gods say together, stunning her.
"You must learn the importance of life and death. Only then may you be reunited with your beloved," the God of Darkness says before sending Salem to on open field away from the domain.
"Salem was a prisoner once again. Her fruitless attempts to reunite with Ozma eventually became nothing more than acts of spite and defiance against the gods," Jinn says.
Ruby is in Salem's home, watching as Salem fatally stabs herself. Ruby is horrified be the scene. Salem's suicide attempt fails because of her immortality and she pulls the sword out.
"But perhaps the gods were not as powerful as they seemed… Salem had lied to them, and made them turn against one another. She learned... that they were fallible," Jinn says while Salem walks to her room window. "If she were to turn humanity against light and darkness, she could rid herself of their curse, or at the very least… she could make them suffer," Jinn says.
"And so, she decided to fight against the brothers," Velvet mutters as she takes Ruby's place.
Blue smoke changes the scenery again, showing a king standing up in surprise as a bloodied ax is thrown to the ground before him.
"Salem traveled from one kingdom to another, telling tales of how she stole immortality from the gods, welcomed any swordsman to cut her down, and demonstrated her powers," Jinn says, showing several images of Salem speaking with various leaders and kings of different kingdoms.
"With the kings and queens in awe, she pulled them deeper into her scheme. She painted them pictures of a time when they would no longer have to watch their loved ones wither and die, when they could claim the powers of their creators for themselves, and in turn, perfect their own design," Jinn says as Salem continues her plan.
Blue smoke changes the scenery once more, showing an army of the kingdoms' combined forces launching an attack on the Domain of Light.
"All they needed to do was destroy their old masters," Jinn says.
Warriors of the army approach the pool, making the God of Light emerge from the pool in his dragon form.
"The gods had hoped that Salem would learn from her eternal curse, and she did. She learned that the hearts of men are easily swayed," Jinn says.
The leaders of the kingdoms stand in front of their people, approaching the God of Light. The God of Darkness, also in his dragon form, then appears alongside his elder brother.
"Who has led you down this path?" the God of Light demands.
Salem walks through the army as she makes her way to the front, glaring at the brothers.
"You...," the God of Darkness mutters, roaring at Salem.
Salem launches a magical attack, and the warriors join her. A swarm of attacks are launched at the God of Darkness, but he easily pulls them all into his left hand, absorbing them into a purple sphere of energy. How could they forget that it was he who gave them all this power? How could they think that they could use his own power against him?
"My own gift to you... used against me," the God of Darkness says.
The God of Light looks away in disappointment as the God of Darkness squeezes the sphere within his hand, creating a massive shockwave that envelops the world, destroying everyone, except for Salem.
"No... no..." Salem mutters in shock, only to get knocked back to the ground by the God of Darkness who crashes in front of her.
"You thought there was no greater punishment we could bestow upon you?" the God of Darkness says.
"I'll come back. I'll tell the rest of the world of this massacre! Build a new army!" Salem yells out.
The God of Darkness shakes his head, "You do not understand. There is no one left. You are all that remains of humanity," he says.
Salem is shocked by his words, but so is Velvet who watches on.
"As the Lord of Calamity, many died because of me, and because of what I left behind, but... even I couldn't have done something like this..." Velvet mutters in shock.
"This planet was a beautiful experiment, but it is merely a remnant of what it once was. We will learn from this failure. I hope that you will learn from yours," the God of Light says before disappearing into a bright light as he leaves the planet.
"No! You can't leave! COME BACK!" Salem shouts.
"Still demanding things of your creators..." the God of Darkness mocks her.
The God of Darkness then disappears into a beam of purple light that shoots up into the sky and out of the atmosphere, shattering the moon in the process. Pieces of the moon rain down on the planet's surface. Salem falls to her knees and lets out a scream as the pieces fall around her. If she wasn't in despair before, she was now.
"Once again, Salem was alone..." Jinn says, showing images of Salem traversing the world, now a shadow of its former self, with only her as the sole remaining human upon it.
"Salem cursed the gods, the stars, everything... but she never once blamed herself. Eventually, she found herself back in the domain of darkness, on a cliff overlooking a black pool of death and nothingness," Jinn says as Salem stands on said cliff, and then falls off into the black pool below. "She thought that if the fountain of life gave her immortality, then perhaps the pool of Grimm could take it away... only it didn't," Jinn says as Salem's body convulses painfully in the black depths. "Rather than destroy her as she hoped, the pool helped turn her into something else. A being of immortality... with a desire for pure destruction," Jinn says as Salem emerges from the pool with deathly pale skin, gray hair, and her red eyes glowing. "And in time, she would find her adversary..." Jinn says.
Blue smoke changes the scenery again, this time showing Ozma in a white expanse with the God of Light.
"...Where... where am I?" Ozma asks.
"We are between realms. I'm afraid a tragedy has befallen your home at the hands of my brother. We have chosen to depart this world, but in our absence, I would like to offer you the chance to return to it," the God of Light offers.
"What do you mean? What tragedy?" Ozma asks.
"Mankind is no more, yet your world remains. And in time, your kind will grow to walk its face once again. However, without our presence, they will be but a fraction of what they once were," the God of Light explains, and then creates four objects: a staff, a sword, a crown, and a lamp that float around him. "Creation, destruction, choice, and knowledge. These were the ideals upon which humanity was made. Now I leave them behind with the hope that you will learn to remake yourselves," he says, fusing them all together into a bright sphere of energy. "If brought together, these four Relics will summon my brother and I back to your world, and humanity will be judged. If your kind has learned to live in harmony with one another and set aside their differences, then we shall once again live among you, and humanity will be made whole again. But if your kind is unchanged, if you demand our blessings while still fighting amongst yourselves, then man will be found irredeemable and your world will be wiped from existence. Until your task is complete, you will reincarnate, but in a manner that ensures you are never alone," the God of Light explains.
"But humanity isn't united. It never has been," Velvet mutters in sadness as she watches on.
Ozma falls to his knees as he tries to process all of this. Velvet disappears as Oscar takes her place.
"I'm sorry, but... that world just isn't as dear to me without her. If I may, I'd rather return to the afterlife to reunite with Salem," Ozma asks.
"You will not find her there," the God of Light says, shaking his head.
Ozma is surprised by this, "You mean she still lives?" he asks.
"Salem yet lives, but the woman you hold dear in your memories is no more. Heed this warning... where you seek comfort, you will only find pain. With this in mind, will you-," the God of Light begins.
"I'll do it," Ozma eagerly accepts this task.
"...Very well. Our creation rests within your hands," the God of Light says and then disappears.
"And so Ozma was reborn," Jinn says.
The scene changes again, showing Ozma reincarnating into a man with a tanned complexion and pale blonde hair, who had just killed a Beowolf with a pitchfork. Ozma takes a moment to get used to his new body and surroundings. He looks around and sees people screaming and running into the forest he is in away from a nearby village that's burning and being attacked by Grimm.
"Where am I?" Ozma mutters to himself.
Ozma then hears a man scream, and looks over to see him poorly swinging a sword at a Beowolf, which knocks his sword and him to the ground. Ozma's previous soul takes over and runs forward, grabbing the man's sword and slaying the Grimm, and then helps the man back up.
"Thank you. Please, tell me your name. Who are you?" the man asks.
Suddenly, Ozma's first incarnation has trouble speaking, and drops the sword in horror. Oscar watches the scene before him.
"He doesn't know," Oscar says.
The scene changes once more, showing Ozma walking down a street, seeing Faunus locked up in cages as slaves, and a pile of Dust crystals on top of a table nearby.
"Ozma had found himself in a world completely unfamiliar to him. Cities looked different. Creatures known as the Faunus bore fangs and claws and were locked away in cages. And without the blessing of the gods, no one could perform magic like mankind was once capable of, no one but himself and a woman known as... the witch," Jinn narrates as the scenery around Ozma changes into a forest. He finds upon a broken-down cottage in said forest. "During his years of travel, he heard the same frightened whispers that spoke of a terrifying sorceress who commanded dark powers in the wilds among the beasts and monsters. Ozma was convinced that this witch was Salem, and decided he needed to see what she had become," Jinn says.
Ozma stands before the cottage. The front door opens, and Salem emerges, wearing black regal-looking robes now. She gives an angry glare while exiting the cottage, but suddenly, her expression softens upon seeing her visitor, overjoyed at seeing the man she loved before her. Ozma smiles back at her.
"Call it magic or call it something stronger, but in that moment, the two knew exactly who it was that stood before them," Jinn says.
Ozma and Salem walk towards each other, the two hold each other's hands, interlocking their fingers as they once did.
"What do we do now?" Ozma asks.
"Whatever we like," Salem replies.
"Though they were reunited, this isn't like before. Things have changed. THEY have changed," Velvet notes as she watches them enter the cottage.
Over time, the cottage was repaired and became more livable, with Ozma and Salem seen out on the front porch talking with one another.
"As Salem and Ozma recounted the events which had brought them back together, each withheld parts of their story. Salem, fearing Ozma would reject her, blamed the end of the world on the gods. Ozma, still unsure of where the truth lay, kept his task and the Relics a secret. Though time passed and all seemed well, Ozma's conversation with the God of Light still lingered in his mind. He had found happiness, but humanity seemed more divided than ever before," Jinn says.
The scene changes again, showing, Salem and Ozma inside the cottage, still talking to each other.
"Are you surprised? This world is quite literally godless. These humans have no one to guide them. Perhaps that's all they need," Salem notes, a drink in her hands.
Ozma puts down his drink on the kitchen counter, "What are you saying?" he asks.
Salem puts her drink down, "We could become the gods of this world. Our powers surpass all others. Our souls transcend death. We can mold these lands into whatever we want, what you want, create the paradise that the old gods could not," Salem suggests.
Ozma is uncertain about this, but then smiles in agreement with Salem. The two of them look each other in the eyes as Salem places an affectionate hand on Ozma's shoulder.
"The hearts of men are easily swayed," Jinn says, while Salem smiles.
Blue smoke changes the scene again, showing a village under attack by a Nevermore. Suddenly, a purple energy surrounds the Nevermore, crushing its body into nothing. The villagers watch as Ozma, once again wielding his scepter and wearing regal blue robes, and Salem levitate in the air side-by-side above them. They all bow down to them as their saviors, as their gods. Suddenly, they disappear and a pair of statues of them appear. Blake walks up to them.
"The two amassed a great following. That following grew into a prosperous kingdom," Jinn says, showing a castle appearing before them, then a large room with a painting of Ozma and Salem together, with Salem sitting in a chair and Ozma standing next to her. "And at the head of that kingdom blossomed... a family," Jinn says as four little girls join them in the painting.
Ozma and Salem watch their four daughters playing together in the living room of their home.
One of their daughters comes up to the two of them, playfully tugging on Salem's robe. The two parents smile at her before smiling at each other. Blue smoke changes the scenery, showing a battle between human factions, while a smirking Salem watches from a crystal ball. Ozma stands a short distance away from her looking outside the window, a worried expression on his face.
"Are we sure this is the right thing to do?" Ozma asks.
Salem looks to Ozma, "You said we needed to bring humanity together. In order to do that, we have to spread our word, and destroy those who will stand against it," Salem says.
Ozma is stunned by her words and turns away to see his reflection on the window.
"What are we doing?" the reflection of him asks, from his new incarnation.
Ozma reels back, taken aback by the image.
"This isn't what I was supposed to do?" Ozma says.
"What was that?" Salem asks.
The two then hear a door open, and one of their daughters enters the room.
"Mother, Father, look!" the girl says before conjuring several wisps of different colors over her hands, performing magic just like her parents.
Salem smiles at her daughter, while Ozma is surprised, and worried at the same time.
"It was a miracle; their children could perform magic. But what should have been a joyous occasion was short-lived," Jinn says, showing another scene of Ozma talking to Salem again. "Ozma told Salem everything, the true reason the God of Light had brought him back, the Relics that they scattered around the world, and the day of judgement he had been told to prepare the world for," Jinn says.
Salem speaks after he finishes his story, "Don't you see? None of that matters anymore. The gods abandoned this world. Why spend our lives trying to redeem these humans when we can replace them with something greater?" Salem offers, extending her hand to Ozma.
Ozma, however, hesitates to take it, unsure of what to do. Smoke changes the scene again, showing Ozma quietly escorting his daughters out their room when night has fallen. One daughter looks down the hallway when she notices something.
"Mommy?" she says.
Ozma looks on, surprised to see Salem standing at the end of the hall, livid. Ozma slowly shakes his head, not wanting to fight Salem and put their daughters in danger. Salem, however, angrily conjures a red beam of energy from her hand. Ozma uses his scepter to counter Salem's attack, launching a green beam of energy. Their attacks clash, engulfing the area into a bright white flash. Both Ruby and Velvet watch the battle unfold. In one moment, Velvet looks to the side at the daughters, just in time to see a blast of light engulf them. When the dust finally settles, the home is in ruins, and the daughters are no more. Ozma weakly crawls on the ground, mortally wounded from the battle. Salem, thanks to her immortality, revives, and angrily walks over to Ozma. She kicks him over on his back and holds him down with her foot.
"We finally had FREEDOM...," Salem mutters, seething.
Ozma looks at her, "I-," he begins, only for Salem to engulf him in fire.
"Thus, began a long and painful cycle of death and rebirth for Ozma," Jinn says as she shows images of Ozma's various incarnations in their many lives. "Some lives were spent in mourning, while others were spent attempting to forget his past," Jinn says. Blue smoke changes the scene again, showing Ozma reincarnating into a dark-skinned man with glasses. "But no matter what, his mind would eventually turn back to the task the gods had burdened him with," Jinn says. She then shows a scene of Ozma's newest reincarnation serving a meal to his wife and two children, who had Silver Eyes. Qrow watches the scene unfold. "And as the centuries went on, Ozma began to learn the importance of living WITH the souls with which he had been paired," Jinn says, as Ozma glances back at the soul of his newest incarnation. Ozma then hears screaming outside and opens the door to see villagers running from a Grimm attack. "But no matter where or how he lived, Salem's reach was never too far away," Jinn says. Ozma looks back to his wife, who nods in understanding, before going out with his cane to protect the villagers. "If humanity were ever to stand a chance at being united, one thing was clear..." Jinn says.
"He had to kill Salem," Ruby realizes as she watches from where Qrow once stood.
Blue smoke changes the scenery, showing Ozma's reincarnation, much older now, working on his cane.
"Knowing he could never rid the world of Salem through any mortal methods, Ozma sought out the power of the Relics," Jinn says, showing Ozma placing his cane inside a metal cabinet, and then closing it. The door opens again showing Ozma's in yet another reincarnation, a younger man wearing finer clothing and with a mustache and short red hair, picking up the cane. "Armed with my knowledge, he believed he could fulfill his promise to the God of Light," Jinn says, showing Ozma with the Relic of Knowledge, summoning Jinn.
This time, all of Team RVWBY around to watch the scene unfold.
"Where are the other Relics?" Ozma asks.
"He asked me his questions," Jinn says.
"What powers do they possess?" Ozma asks his second question.
"For which, I answered each," Jinn continues.
"How do I destroy Salem?" Ozma asks his third question.
"However, not all of my answers... were to his liking," Jinn finishes.
"...You can't," the memory of Jinn says to Ozma for his third question.
Upon hearing this, Ozma falls to his knees in despair. Ruby, Weiss and Blake are all shocked by this, while Yang and Velvet look on in anger. With their question now answered, Jinn returns them to the present, in the snow-covered forest they were in and they all look to Ozpin, in Oscar's body, who hangs his head in defeat as tears fall down his eyes. Now they all know his greatest secret.
And that's the chapter. Velvet and the gang finally learn the truth that Ozpin has kept from them, from everyone, for so long. But, how will they take this knowledge now. More importantly, how will Velvet deal with Ozpin now that she knows the truth. Will Ozpin survive Velvet's reaction to the truth? What will the team do now? Until then, please Read and Review.
