Here we are at Chapter 90. Now that Velvet and the gang know the truth about Ozpin and Salem, let's see how they react and deal with Ozpin. I do not own RWBY or Tales of Berseria. They belong to their respective owners. Here's chapter 90. Enjoy.

Chapter 90: When it rains...

Ozpin, still in control of Oscar's body, remains on his knees as the members of Team RVWBY circle him.

"You heard her... You heard what Jinn said, guys. Salem can't be killed," Yang says as she glares at Ozpin.

"I-," Ozpin begins.

"What gave you the right to keep that from us?!" Yang yells.

Now, Velvet stands in front of Ozpin, who looks up at her as tears fall down his eyes.

"I told you everything about me. You know what I am, where I came from, and what I did. I got innocent people killed. I caused chaos back in my old world. I kept secrets, yes, but for those that fought with me, they knew exactly what they were getting themselves into. I told them everything they needed to know so they would understand the stakes. I'm no saint, I'm not even human. There's plenty of innocent blood on my hands... But even still, I'm nowhere near as low as you are right now on the moral ground. Did you ever stop to think that maybe, after everything we've been through: losing our school, losing our friends, fighting monsters, the battle for Haven; you never thought that we deserved to know the truth about you and Salem, about EVERYTHING you kept from us?" Velvet demands, her anger slowly flowing out.

Ozpin can find no argument against her, and hangs his head in shame.

"Professor Ozpin..." Ruby says, and he glances at her. "What were you planning to do to defeating Salem?" she asks.

"I... I don't know," Ozpin confesses.

His confession stuns the group. Here lies the man who has fought against Salem for so long, and yet, he never truly had a plan to defeat her. Only keeping victory out of her clutches. Velvet growls and activates her demon claw. She grabs Ozpin by the head and slams him against a nearby tree.

"Keeping secrets from us, not having a plan to defeat Salem. If that's the case, then what's to stop me from devouring your soul right now?" Velvet seethes.

Ozpin struggles to break free from her grasp, but she just squeezes even tighter on his skull. Ruby then comes in and grabs Velvet by her right arm.

"Velvet, please, calm down! I know your upset, but if you do this, you'll kill Oscar too!" Ruby cries. "Please, just let him go. This won't help anyone or change anything," she pleads with her girlfriend.

Velvet glances between Ruby and Ozpin, seeing their eyes showing both fear and worry. Velvet would love to choke the life out of Ozpin, but Ruby has a point. Oscar never asked for this. Hell, Oscar had nothing to do with this whole conflict up until a few months ago. Velvet calms down with a sigh and releases Ozpin, who falls onto the ground as he coughs and gasps for air. Velvet deactivates her demon claw and allows Ruby to walk her a few steps away from Ozpin before she changes her mind.

Velvet stops and glances back at Ozpin, "Everywhere you go, people die or worse when they're around you, Ozpin. Meeting Ruby was the best thing that ever happened to me when I came to this world, but meeting you, Ozpin... That is the WORST thing that has ever happened to me in this world," Velvet says.

Ozpin is stunned by her words and looks at the rest of the team. They all give him the same look: a look of hate, disgust, and betrayal. Ozpin then looks at Qrow, who can't even look at him without feeling like he got stabbed in the back. That was the last straw for him.

"Maybe you're right..." Ozpin says before his eyes glow green for a moment as he finally gives Oscar back control of his body.

"What happened?" Weiss asks.

"He's... gone," Oscar says.

"What?" Blake asks.

"That bastard! Bring him back! Velvet dealt with him, now it's my turn!" Yang yells in rage.

"No, I mean he's... gone. It's like he's locked himself deep within my head... Our head? Grrrgh! I hate this! I want it to stop!" Oscar shouts as he clutches his head.

"So, Ozpin left us and ran away. There's a shock," Velvet notes.

"What are we supposed to do now?" Blake asks, worried.

"Enough!" Maria suddenly yells as she walks up behind them, gaining their attention "We need to get moving. This weather isn't going to get any better, Grimm could attack at any moment, and you all are just SPEWING negativity!" Maria says before she helps Oscar onto his feet with her cane. "There's a trail over there. Trails usually lead somewhere, probably a place where we can get out of the cold and into safety," she says.

"Look lady, I don't know who you think you are, but-," Yang argues.

"No buts! Now, I understand that you're all under a lot of stress right now. To be honest, I'm still coming to terms with the fact that this is humanity's second time around on Remnant. However, I'll be damned if I've lived this long just to end up dying out here in the cold. We can figure out what to do later AFTER we've found shelter and a place to rest. Now, if you've got nothing better to do other than complain, then get moving," Maria takes charge.

The group aren't exactly keen on the idea of an old lady talking to them like that and giving them orders. Luckily, their leader sees the wisdom in Maria's words.

"Maria's right. We need to move. Let's gather what we can and get moving. We're not safe out here," Ruby says.

The group listen to them and gather what supplies they can, getting them into bags and strapping them to Bumblebee, while Velvet helps Maria onto the back of the motorcycle. After that, she goes to Oscar after picking up Ozpin's cane.

"Here, you're going to need this," Velvet says, handing him the cane.

"Are you... still angry at me?" Oscar asks tentatively.

"I'm angry at Ozpin, not you. So... sorry about earlier," Velvet says.

"I'm just going to end up as another one of his lives, aren't I?" Oscar asks, looking melancholy.

Velvet sighs, "I'm not going to lie to you like he did. That may very well be the case. I'm sorry I can't help you there," Velvet says.

The pair look down in sadness, while Qrow watches them from the side before taking a swig of his flask. The group then move on to follow down the trail in the hopes of finding shelter before the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Back in Mistral, Emerald has just left a small bar after speaking with the underground informant. Luckily, she had the money to pay for the service (it's amazing how many people don't notice that their wallets have been stolen). Emerald is wearing a dark green cloak with a hood to conceal herself as she walks through the crowd. However, that cloak can't protect her from every eye that notices her. Getting the sudden sense that she's being watched, Emerald makes a quick turn down an alleyway and continues moving through area. Eventually, she comes to a large open expanse between what looks to be abandoned buildings, with no one else around. Emerald glances back behind her before she swiftly turns around while drawing her pistols out, aimed at the alleyway where she came from. However, she finds no one there. A moment later, a figure appears from the right and kicks Emerald to the ground. Emerald rolls and aims her pistols, only to see a familiar umbrella before her.

"You've got to be kidding me... Neo?" Emerald mutters in shock. The mute female warrior stands before her, umbrella resting on her shoulder as she smirks at her. "Neo, what are you doing here?" Emerald asks.

Neo, of course, says nothing and attacks Emerald. She flips in the air and throws a few kicks at Emerald, who backflips away. She then swings her umbrella at her, knocking Emerald's pistols off and gets a kick in on her face. Emerald rolls back and engages the sickle blades on her pistols.

"What's your problem, Neo?!" Emerald yells.

She swings her blades as the chains extend their reach, but Neo flips and twirls around each swing. Emerald retracts her blades and uses her semblance on Neo, making her disappear and an illusion of Roman Torchwick takes her place. Neo hesitates upon seeing her old boss, which gives Emerald the chance to come in and swing her blades at her, getting a lucky hit in. She fires her pistol at her, but Neo suddenly shatters like glass thanks to her semblance and disappears. Emerald remembers that their semblances are a little similar in that they utilize different forms of illusions and hallucinations to help them fight. Neo appears above Emerald and swings her umbrella into her face as she lands. Emerald staggers back and fires her pistols again, but Neo dances around each shot.

"She's gotten stronger than she was back in Vale," Emerald mentally notes.

She swings one of her chains out, making Neo flip into the air while she fires off a shot from her second pistol. Neo uses her umbrella to block the shot and lands gracefully on her feet. Emerald grits her teeth and uses her semblance again to make her invisible and create an illusion of Cinder this time. Neo waits for her to attack, knowing it's just an illusion. Emerald comes in from the side as the illusion dissipates and swing her blades at her, but Neo shatter like glass again, reappearing on a rooftop nearby, this time sporting Roman Torchwick's signature hat. Emerald sees the hat and starts to put the pieces together.

"Wait, is this about Torchwick getting killed? You know that I had nothing to do with that," Emerald defends herself. Neo loses her smile and jumps back down to the ground and pulls out one of Cinder's arrows surprisingly, twirling it while glaring at Emerald. "What, you think Cinder was responsible? Well, it is NOT her fault either. Besides... Cinder is...," Emerald can't bring herself to finish the words as the memories of what happened at Haven come flooding back.

Neo actually gets a little curious now after she pieces together what Emerald is trying to say, dropping the arrow on the ground, and placing a hand on her hip and umbrella on her shoulder.

"Look, the one who killed Roman was that stupid girl from Beacon, Ruby Rose. And the one who... who killed Cinder is Velvet Crowe. I learned that they're heading for Atlas through Argus. I'm going after them so I can kill Velvet Crowe and avenge Cinder. So, you can either continue to fight me in this pointless brawl which won't get you what you want... or you can come with me and we can go after the two people that killed both of our bosses," Emerald suggests.

Neo raises an eyebrow, curious at the offer. She remembered how those two girls got in their way and fought against them in Vale at the Fall of Beacon. It would make more sense to go after them, especially since Cinder was already dead. She went after Emerald in the hopes of finding Cinder, but that plan went out the window.

"You really think you can defeat Velvet Crowe?" a third voice suddenly asks. The pair look up to see none other than Innominat appear in the night sky and descend, softly landing between them. "That's so ridiculous, it's almost laughable," he says.

"You're the one that helped us at the battle for Haven. Who are you, and what do you want?" Emerald demands, aiming her pistols at him.

"You may call me Innominat, and you would be wise to lower your weapons. You were having a hard time against this silent girl here, so there's no way you would stand a chance against me," Innominat says, dark energy flowing around his hands. His presence unsettles Emerald, but even she isn't so blind as to think that she can take him on, and lowers her weapons. "Good, now, as for your second question, I want the same thing you want: to kill Velvet Crowe. I know Velvet Crowe far better than you do, and now that she has the Fall Maiden's power, she is too strong for you to take alone. What's more, your semblance won't work on her because she's faced those that had similar, yet stronger abilities than yours. But, if we deal with her together, that changes things. I have spoken with Salem, and informed her of my purpose here. She has allowed me to do as I see fit, so long as it doesn't interfere with her plans and unless she calls for my assistance. Your mute friend here is more than welcome to join us, since our mutual targets are heading for the same place together after all," Innominat explains. The girls stare at him, and then each other remaining silent. Innominat, however, keeps smiling. "So, what do you say?" he asks.

"Salem... is okay with this?" Emerald asks, raising an eyebrow.

"Salem doesn't know I'm here, so no. Why she wants the Silver-Eyed girl alive, I cannot fathom, nor do I care. However, she means much to Velvet Crowe, so we can use that to our advantage. No then, I'll ask again: are you in or are you out?" Innominat asks.

Emerald thinks about it. Truthfully, she had no idea how she would actually kill Velvet Crowe with how strong she is, even without the Fall Maiden's powers. But, she remembers how this figure managed to hold off some of Velvet's friends by himself, and if he knew Velvet as well as he said he did, then she could use that. She doesn't trust this guy, but she doesn't have much choice right now. Besides, if she had to make a deal with the devil in order to get her revenge, then so be it.

"Fine, you can come along. But, I'm the one that gets to kill Velvet Crowe," Emerald says.

"So long as she dies, it matters not to me. Now then, first we'll need to find a transpirt to get us to Atlas Shall we?" Innominat says.

Back with Velvet's group, they continue their trek through the snowy wilderness. They've been walking for a while now down the trail and so far, they haven't found anything.

"How much longer before we finally find a place to rest?" Yang says to Maria, who sits on her bike.

"How should I know.? I said that trails usually lead somewhere, I never said I knew how far," Maria retorts.

Yang sighs and keeps on pushing her motorcycle.

"No use crying about it, Yang. We just have to keep moving until we find a spot to rest. You rather we stayed at the derailed train car where Grimm could show up at any time?" Velvet asks.

"Not really," Yang replies.

"Then we keep moving forward... It's all we can do right now," Velvet says.

Ruby walks next to Velvet, "Do you think... my mom might have an idea about what to do after we get to Atlas?" she asks.

Velvet sighs, "I wish. It's not like I can just call her like I'm picking up a scroll and making a call to someone. She comes and goes when she decides it. Usually to give me some kind of warning about something, or for some kind of lesson. I have no control over it. Hopefully, she can give me some ideas the next time I see her, whenever that happens," Velvet says.

"I see," Ruby mutters, rubbing her hands together for a moment o warm up a bit.

Velvet notices this and uses her Maiden powers to conjure up a small flame in her left hand, holding Ruby close while she keeps the flame in front of them to help them warm up.

"Ah, that's much better," Ruby mutters in bliss.

"Glad I could help," Velvet says.

"Velvet, is it; is that magic you're performing there?" Maria asks.

"Yes, you heard the stories about the four Maidens? Well, I have the Fall Maiden's powers," Velvet says.

Maria stares at her, "I would say I'm surprised, but after everything we just learned, I'm not surprised by much at this point. So, is that good for us, or not?" she asks.

"There's a chance that Salem will end her people after me. She needs the powers of the four Maidens in order to claim the Relics. She needs to Fall Maiden's power to get the Relic that's hidden at Beacon. To add more fuel to the fire, I still haven't fully mastered my powers yet. I still have a lot to learn," Velvet says.

"It never rains..." Maria mutters.

"Hey, you think you could use your powers to make this weather calm down?" Blake asks as the winds pick up a bit.

"Nope. It doesn't work like that. I'm not some fantasy magician that can control the weather. Just bear with it," Velvet says.

"Just want to get this stupid Relic to Atlas. Hopefully, we won't have to walk the whole way there," Weiss groans.

"Come on, let's just keep moving," Qrow says.

The group continue moving, and Yang begins to lose more of her patience, "Hey, you think we're there yet?" she asks Maria.

"Do you have nothing better to do than to ask me stupid, pointless questions? Talk about harassing a defenseless old lady," Maria retorts.

"Everyone, be quiet... I think I hear something," Qrow calls out.

Velvet deactivates her powers and they all pipe down and then hear a creaking noise up ahead. Qrow and Velvet are the first to move ahead, finding an old wooden fence and a gate before them. At the top of the gate is a sign with the words 'Brunswick Farms' on it. They look ahead to see an array of houses and a few other buildings around. However, what they also notice is that there doesn't seem to be anyone around, at least no one is outside right at the moment.

"Well, guess Maria was right. Trails do lead somewhere, eventually," Velvet notes.

"Told you!" Maria calls out as the rest of the group join them.

"The place looks abandoned, but I don't see any signs of an attack by Grimm or bandits," Blake notes.

"There may be people inside due to the storm. Come on, guys. Let's have a look around and see if someone here will be willing to help us out. I think we call could use some rest from the cold," Qrow says and opens the gate.

The rest of the group follow him inside the settlement as the gate slowly closes on them as they walk past.

And that's the chapter. Things are certainly going downhill a little with our heroes. The group find the farm, but what else will they find. Meanwhile, Emerald joins forces with Neo and Innominat to go after Velvet and Ruby. That can't be good. Who knows what Velvet will find here? Until then, please Read and Review.
