"Grandpa, why haven't any heroes popped up? It's been over 1000 years after all." asked Bell.
"Ever since the gods came down, the falna was used as an excuse for becoming a hero. It's further from the truth as many fell to this lie and saw the real truth upon there deaths. It's a blessing of a god, but not a blessing which creates heroes. This is why no hero had popped up young Bell." answered Zeus, attempting to somewhat answer the tricky question.
It's quite strange that no actual hero has popped up. If it's been 1000 years since the last supposed hero, than why hasn't one popped up? It should've taken at least 10-100 years, not an entire millennium. Zeus' answer is somewhat correct, but it should've at least made one or multiple true heroes by this point. That's until you see the problem with becoming a true hero. You need to conquer the Black Dragon and possibly even conquer the dungeon. The standards had been set so high that no true hero would dare to reach this point of power.
A man would have to be soo foolish in order to break the expectations of a hero. This is why Bell always struggles to hope and why many others had as well. It's such a hopeless thought to defeat the ever growing Black Dragon and the never ending hordes that come out of the dungeon. You would have to obliterate a part of your mind in order to force yourself to even attempt to conquer the great evils of the world.
This is why no hero had ever popped up in a millennium. It was simply too ambitious and the gods had basically given a cheat code to surviving in this harsh world. People were too comfortable calling blessed people heroes and so no true hero was needed. This changes when the world is put into chaos and fear.

Am I going insane? Everywhere I go, the Dragon Valley is always there. I can't escape death, and those dragons always remind me of that damn Black Dragon. Why did I choose to become a hero? Why did my grandpa even allow me to do this? I'm not the hero everyone needs, I'm simply a boy who dreamt of that. What's the point?
I've fought so many dragons and only lived because of this damn sword. It isn't worth the glory of using it. I'd rather die with a basic sword than to wield the Ascalon Sword. It simply keeps my stupid beliefs alive and I don't want that. I just want to live in peace and finally enjoy my childhood again. Heroes aren't meant for me, I'm simply made to be happy.
Haha! Those damn thoughts are back. The thoughts of existing and my purpose. Just what is it? To become a hero is the immediate answer, but I'm nothing without this sword. I just want to die and see my grandpa again. Why can't I just see the world become good again? Why can't a hero rise? Why can't I become a man with a happy and peaceful life?
Why do I question everything.
I cry and yell out. I rage and conquer, yet feel empty and powerless. What is my existence here. The Dragon Valley is only a part of my life and yet I always question myself on why I'm even here. Is this existence of mine even worth it?
Bell was in a mental crisis. Everything was confusing and also enraging. A hero is the only being and existence that can bring the world to peace and prosperity, but nobody would rise to the occasion. Bell deep down knew that he would never live a peaceful life again, but he always wanted to. He could either choose to sacrifice his dignity and morals and become a hero, or become a man with power that holds no purpose but to just live and hold peace like his childhood.
These two options always collided in his mind. Every slash and every dragon always made this mental war ignite. He didn't know himself anymore. He couldn't conquer his own mind, so what chance does he have in becoming a hero?

Orario is a great city. Loki Familia is a great Familia. The hope here is immense. The only problem is when a legendary hero will rise. I've become addicted to the thought of becoming a hero myself, but I always wonder if it's possible. How will I slay a powerful evil when even a level 9 couldn't kill it? The dungeon is an even worse problem as it's the reason for why the great dragon even exists. Do I really have to become a hero with all this hopelessness?
Bell had changed when talking with others. Ais had brought his eyes forward and made him understand one thing: he could genuinely become a hero. As much as how hopeless the power gap between the strongest adventurers and most powerful monster is, there is always a hero who makes this gap seem possible. He wants to become that hero, he wants to give the world peace even if his own will be stolen.
I will sacrifice anything to become a hero if it means having peace again.
"Bell, you've changed. All I ever saw of you was eyes that looked hopeless. Now your out here giving us a reason to fight in these dark times. What happened?" asked Finn, looking at Bell's shining red eyes.
"You wouldn't understand. Tons of mental torture and questioning had to be done in order to lead me here." answered Bell, chuckling.
"Not like your alone on that." said Finn.
"You think going to the east will do much though?" asked Bell.
"You said it yourself, heroes must gain influence in order to spread hope. I don't want to just slave ourselves to power, I want us to become heroes as a Familia." explained Finn, sounding far more confident and ambitious.
"Having another person to talk to about heroes is great."
Ever since the two had that conversation, Finn had noticed his purpose once again. This time, he would be behind the true light of the world, the foolish hero named Bell Cranel. He would still lead the Familia, but he knew that Bell would become the one true hero in the end. They had planned together to spread hope and become heroes of whatever personal desires they had. You want to make everyone smile? Become a hero with Bell. You need to save your mother from the Black Dragon? Woah, there's a hero doing exactly that.
Overall, the Familia had been united under one man. That man being Bell who finally got his mind together and decided to lead others into hope. He would become the hero everyone needed, especially after sacrificing everything to do so.
The western continent was covered in a black fog. The once lively forests and flourishing environments were nonexistent. All that could be seen were the shadows of monsters and ruins of entire cities. The waters of the west were filled with pure darkness and crazily huge monsters. Nobody could hope to put this type of world into it's once beautiful state where Bell had once traversed through. Since the Loki Familia only had a level 4 as there weakest member, they were able to travel pretty quickly.
They always had encounters with great monsters nonetheless.
"It's only been a day and we're already fighting some strong monster, since when did the world become so cruel?" commented Finn, seeing the approaching monster ahead.
"Isn't that some type of bat and dragon monster?" asked Gareth. "The dungeon spawns things straight from hell sometimes."
"It shouldn't be much." joined in Bell. "I mean, you guys did decide to become heroes."
A bat dragon that breathes pure darkness. It matched the environment with ease and could easily be seen as the monster that brought this type of environment to light in the first place. It's massive enough that many level 7 adventurers would have to fight it. It seemed to only go airborne when weakened or sending down some powerful attack. It was only level 7 and there were many like it.
"Argo Bolto"
The magic instantly burned one of the dragon's wings to oblivion. It burnt in sparks of electricity as it couldn't fly anymore. Bell made this magic when using his golden beam magic and super long chant magic. They were both used in a small amount, but it was enough power to damage even the strongest of monsters. It took tons of practice and mind control in order to do something like this.
"Lefiya, use your magic, we need to destroy it's main body in order to defeat it!" ordered Riveria as the dragon attempted to flee.
It's still very powerful, but magic isn't exactly it's specialty. It's scales are durable as ever, but Gareth could easily break through with his insane strength. Magic is really only needed to weaken the massive dragon.
"Elven Lights!"
Elf magic that Lefiya learnt to use from one of the many remaining mages in the Familia. It's a magic meant to slay dark enemies with an arc of light that explodes into many other beams. They track the opponent down until it explodes upon impact. It's similar to Lefiya's arcs ray, but way more powerful in terms of killing dragons.
"Damn, if a weakling could use this much magic, I don't understand why they still don't have hope!" happily commented Bete, as he appreciated his comrades for once.
Lefiya was caught off guard by such a strange comment from the grumpy Bete. He usually belittles them beyond belief, but this time he actually wants them to grow through nicer means. It's a change of heart that only happens when wisdom and hope is put into there hearts.
"Ais, kill it off, we need to get going before more pop up." ordered Finn.
The motivation and wills of everyone had gone up drastically. There captain being far more lively and ambitious had encouraged them to push onward. Bell did influence many of the top executives in turn. It was quite possibly the only Familia and people who had any hope left in this world.
"You mortals yet again prove to be foolish." said Moros. "You've defeated me even with arcanum. It sucks that I must leave now because of that stupid queen of monsters."
"Really? Your just going to walk away like that? At least explain to us who this queen of monsters is." vocalized Eliphas.
"If you truly want to know, she is a monster that can speak. She is a Vouirve that had evolved into the epitome of her race. She is an opponent even a god with arcanum wouldn't challenge." answered Moros, leaving with some answers for the duo.
"Not like it'll be much of a problem in the mean time." shrugged Atlas, joining in.
"You never know, Atlas. I didn't need to use my magic, but that monster queen might be worthy of it." chimed in Eliphas.
"Yeah Yeah cautious boy. If that god is scared of her, I could only imagine her being level 12 or some stupidly high level."
As much as how powerful I made Eliphas, this powerful Xenos isn't one to underestimate. Atlas was only able to beat Moros because of his versatility in magic as well as his overall advantage in speed and strength. He gained a lot of Excelia, but the gods don't exactly see beating arcanum as worthy to leveling up. His stats are in the S tier now, but a level 10 monster that could easily kill him would be needed to level up.
"Atlas, I honestly have to ask a question: Why do you always go beyond your limit for some small things?" asked Eliphas, being more serious now.
Atlas simply stared at the mage. He had no answer, for his past is as hellish as it could be. He couldn't become a hero anymore and his peace was ruined as soon as he was born. He would never be the same and simply become a monster slayer until a hero finally rose. The limit isn't his objective anymore, but rather the saving of the world he grew to hate.

I was a broken child with no purpose. All I knew was to become stronger and stronger until I had peace. I destroyed entire armies of the Empire and was labeled a great villain. I even held a bounty that would put the country in debt because of how troublesome I was. Every time I heard of heroes, I always said, "They don't exist anymore. The world won't allow it," I was further from the truth. The Zeus and Hera Familias were true heroes. As much as they attempted to be evil or villainous, they were always heroes in my eyes. They helped the weak get stronger and always had hope even when the Black Dragon reportedly destroyed an entire country.
I found my purpose just as soon as I saw them fall. I wasn't meant to slay the Black Dragon or conquer the dungeon. I was meant to create a hero just as how the Zeus and Hera Familias had attempted to do with future generations. I despised the Loki Familia and Freya Familia, but that hatred had gone out the window when meeting Zeus. The god gave me hope and said that this kid he's raising will become a powerful hero.
If that's the case, I'll simply create an environment to allow the boy to flourish into a hero. The dungeon erupted before I could do anything though. I still kept my purpose to heart and continued to make a name for Zeus while killing great monsters that could easily overpower the ancient Familias. Zeus didn't care what I did, all he said was that my purpose is mine and I can do whatever I want with it. A hero would rise soon enough, and if my purpose is to create one, than I should follow the hero's journey as much as I can.
Bell Cranel is a man I wish to become a hero where I couldn't.
"Malady, the Eastern Stand seemed to have defeated Moros." reported Lyd.
"Isn't that impressive." replied the queen. "Send Ray and the others to see who defeated that annoying god."
"Yes Malady."
The queen's name was Raine. She named herself this after meeting with the Xenos within the dungeon. The original cast of Xenos resided there, but they always struggled with hunters and other adventurers. This changed when Raine had gained immense power that was capable of overpowering a level 6 with ease. She grew in power as time went by and the Xenos had soon worshipped her as there queen. Sadly, most of the Xenos were killed off when the dungeon erupted, but they gained many members in turn. Lyd and Ray are the few original characters that survived.
Raine only desired to conquer the world when she found out the real world was way better than the dungeon. She hated the gods and every normal person outside the dungeon because they always kept them trapped. Ouranos had spoken with her, but her hatred always blinded her. Ouranos could never get to her and therefore the Xenos were going to be seen as monsters until something changed.
Two weeks had went by and the only real important event that could be recounted was the constant attacks on Altena. The Loki Familia had a very difficult time traveling through the west, but they reached a mountain range which separated the west from the east. They were called the Splitting mountains for the same reason they differentiate the west from the east. It held the most powerful of dragon monsters and abominations that were said to be level 9 and above.
It's a mountain range that tests any survivors from the west in order to determine if they can go to the east. The queen of the Xenos only controls a third of the mountain range while the rest of it is either controlled by Altena or roaming monsters. The Loki Familia were entering the area where powerful monsters casually roam for dominance.
"Man, I feel that this point in our journey will be the ultimate first test." spoke out Bell, looking at the clouded mountains ahead.
"It's nothing compared to what we had to go through. At least I think so." said Tiona.
"Stop worrying so much, we decided to become heroes, and it's already too late to stop now." spoke Finn, getting everyone's attention with ease.
"Alrighty than, pallum hero, what do we do now? We only have level 7s and not a single level 8. I have a feeling that these monsters are literally level 9 and above." asked Riveria, knowing just how impossible the odds for them are.
"We simply charge through. As stupid as that sounds coming from me, that's our only option." suddenly answered Finn. "There doesn't seem to be much else we can do."
"I don't think that is very wise, captain." interrupted Bell. "There's a cave I found in one of the mountains. It seems to be our best shot at getting through without much trouble."
"As much as I also think that's stupid, it's better to deal with one monster in that cave rather than climbing the mountain range and risking multiple level 9 dragons trying to kill us."
Bell wasn't the most intelligent or knowledgable, but his survival skills were off the charts. He usually searches and looks for anything that may be safer or more survivable in his mind. He got these types of skills when traversing through the Dragon Valley. They held many safe spots as well as many dangerous areas which is why Bell had to adapt to what is safe and what isn't.
"This cave is surprisingly pretty." said Lefiya, as her voice echoed across the walls of the crystal filled cave.
"You could say it's similar to the water city in the dungeon." recalled Riveria.
"We got some sort of ruined settlement ahead according to Ais and Bete. It seems that were not alone in this cave as expected." informed Finn, getting the news from Bete.
It was quite similar to the water city in many ways. Only difference is that there was no water and no safety point. The settlement they talked of was formed as means to tax those that enter the east. It was mostly used by Altena. It was destroyed when a monster estimated at level 9 had ravaged all those that resided there. It was similar to the juggernaut, but way smaller and way stronger and faster. It was said to have obliterated the entire settlement in seconds before going back into the grounds of the crystal cave. There are many holes that show this.
"We need to either investigate those holes or move on. This settlement was huge, and for it to be obliterated isn't quite the good news." said Finn, thinking about what to do with such a monster roaming around.
"I'd say let's just run to the exist as fast as possible." opinionated Tiona.
"More like we fight the damn thing and hope for the best." also added Gareth.
"Captain, can't we simply search them together?" spoke Tione.
"We definitely need to get to a conclusion before that monster actually comes to kill us all." noted Bell, seeing the obvious difference in opinions.
Before much could be said, a small skeletal monster suddenly created a sonic boom that exploded through the cave system with ease. It was here, and wanted to get some prey into it's mouth. The Loki Familia were already at a disadvantage with how versatile it is in an environment like this, nonetheless it's incredible speed.
"Welp, no time to argue now." said Bell a bit too late. "Guess we got to run and somehow escape!"
The formations were quite odd to say the least. The level 5s and 4s were protecting there goddess while the rest charged Infront. It wasn't the best strategy, but nothing really matters anymore if a giant monster can attack at any side.
"We need to get to the exit before any casualties happen! Get the Vanguard to distracting it while we protect our goddess!" ordered Finn.
Suddenly, the skeletal monster had bit through Bete's leg. The adventurer whined in pain as Ais and Tiona tried to get him away from danger.
"What the fuck! That shit really fucking hurt!" cursed out Bete.
"If you got easily attacked, what hope do we have to killing it?" noted Tiona, picking up Bete in order to heal him.
Ais had thought of every possible situation and knew one thing: Someone needed to die in order to distract the monster for enough time. It was far too agile and could easily kill a member with one simple attack. Bell also noticed this and decided on one factor: to fight to the death even if the monster is 2 levels higher than them.
"Fuck man! Finn, we actually need to fight it if we don't want anyone dying!" spoke out Bell, running with the executives.
"As much as I hate this fact, we do need to fight it. Get the Familia ready for a different formation and let's kill this damn thing at the settlement!" ordered Finn, also figuring out the best outcome for victory.
It's a stupid idea to defeat a level 9 monster when your strongest units are only level 7. Luckily for them, a hero wouldn't exactly let them lose hope that easily.
"Alright, get Bete to one of our healers, we need to make this monster come out for good and fight us without the ceiling being right in our faces!"
Finn decided to go back to the settlement because of it's huge coverage and massive amounts of places where you can hide or run away from the wall digging monster. This place is both perfect for a monster like this as well as the upgraded safety of everyone. The small juggernaut obliterated through many crystals before getting one of there Familia members straight into it's mouth.
"We lost a supporter! We need to kill this damn thing before more of us die!" alerted Tione, watching as Orba was killed within it's insane speed.
It was hopeless to those with weak wills. In a situation where the predator attempts to catch it's prey, the prey is at it's peak condition yet also as fearful as ever. Bell was the only person there who felt no fear and simply knew that in order to win, they need to conquer the predator's dominance and show it whose boss in this enclosed cave system.
"Finn, what now? We lost a member and more are about to go with him! We can't do anything with it's incredible speed and the fact that it never comes out to fight!" asked a stressed out Tione, who just recently witnessed a death.
"We obliterate the entire cave." Finn answered. "Orba will forever be known as the man who joined us fools in this journey, but we can't mourn for that man until we give his sacrifice a worth."
You can only run and fear it. It's jaws are sharper than a sword and it's claws can slice entire buildings. It's a monster that represents death to all and only brings suffering and doom to all. The juggernaut was never meant to be released upon the world, but the dungeon's rage allowed it to. The world will meet it's great evil and understand there weakness in the sight of death.
It's been a couple minutes as the monster seemed to cooldown. Another member was killed, this time being another supporter estimated at level 5. Riveria had begun chanting a powerful magic in order to destroy the cave. Lefiya and the other mages also joined in as massive amounts of magic was being used in one small area. Finn ordered them to stand in between a tower that remained standing in the ruins. Bete's leg was basically a lost cause and the executives couldn't do much but just defend the mages as much as they could.
Luckily, the small juggernaut didn't come out to cause havoc again. It seems to have been satisfied with two meals, but the Loki Familia isn't letting that slide. They came this far and are not letting there fellow comrades die in vein.
"Alright, get ready to set up the shields. Hopefully this amount of magic will be enough to stop that damn monster from crawling in the walls." ordered Finn, not wishing for any more casualties to be had.
The cave was decently huge, but it's ceiling wasn't the highest. The settlement they were at had a taller ceiling compared to the rest of the cave. The only reason the juggernaut didn't kill them all yet is because of it's small hunger. Destroying the ceiling would simply make the juggernaut decide to come out rather than just killing them off like some type of buffet. The walls are very far away from each other, but the ceiling compared to the ground is around 2.4 meters or around 8 feet.
"Rea Laevateinn"
The first magic chant that soon came with multiple others. The booms of magic could be heard echoing from both inside and outside the mountain. The ceiling was now heightened as the distance from the floor to the ceiling had grown exponentially. The floor was luckily too dense for the juggernaut to traverse through. (plot armor lmao)
The Juggernaut would have to fight in order to survive in such an environment.
"Nice! We need to-" said Finn, before being intercepted.
The Juggernaut had taken Finn's right arm just as he barely dodged the agile monster. The rest soon catch up with the situation and see the absence of there captain's arm.
"Bete and now you? Can we catch a break with this limb stealing brat?" angrily stated Tione.
"Well than, like I was saying, we need to obliterate it." continued Finn, acting as if nothing just happened.
Riveria healed him to the best of her ability, but her healing magic wasn't meant to restore entire limbs. Nobody could really do that anyways.
"Captain, the monster doesn't seem to be crawling in the walls anymore. It's simply attempting to kill us." informed Raul.
"Isn't that obvious Raul? We just need to kill it now like our captain said." joined in Aki.
The juggernaut's strength and agility are off the charts. Its endurance and dexterity is also crazily high. Magic isn't its specialty, but it can resist practically anything. It was a monster so damn powerful that the dungeon would only use it when damaged to a certain point. It's strength depended on the floor and how deep the damage of the dungeon floor was.
"Golden Death"
More separate magic that Bell was able to create with both of his magic. It was similar to how Riveria's magic worked. It was a golden beam that had an effect of electricity.
"That wasn't very effective." remarked Bell.
Magic wasn't going to kill the damn thing and so were weapons not going to penetrate its insanely durable body. Every knowledge that a person could muster wouldn't be enough to stop such a monster. It's so utterly powerful that it has no weakness and was made to kill anyone and anything.
The juggernaut slices through many buildings in order to get to his prey. They were killed in an instant and were left in a bloody mess. The Loki Familia were being killed off because of there foolish plan to kill it. They were the prey, not the hunters.
"Fuck! Finn, we can't kill it, so why are you forcing us to?" asked Bete, trying to fight the pain of his lost leg.
"I don't know anymore. That thing has no weakness and it's not stopping at anything to kill us!"
As a sense of hopelessness and doom came to everyone, Bell simply knew one thing: they decided to become heroes. If they truly did want to become heroes, than why do they lose themselves to hopeless thoughts of failure?
"You fucking dumbasses don't want to become heroes or what?" suddenly yelled out Bell. "We kill that damn thing and show the world we truly do want to!"
This simple statement made everyone with such a desire come back to reality. This is what it takes to achieve your dreams; what it takes to become a hero.
Bell soon charged at the monster without fear as his skills activated to alert him of just how impossible the current situation is. His survival instincts tried to take control, but his determination to become a hero simply didn't allow it. The durandal sword he had barely blocked the slashes of the monster and the juggernaut simply stared at him with soulless eyes.
"YEAH BITCH, I'M NOT BACKING DOWN." screamed out Bell, right in front of the monster.
The rest soon joined as the arc of desire skill ignited in all of them. It gave them every effect possible and allowed them to fight against such a powerful enemy. It couldn't penetrate there defenses anymore and couldn't outrun them. Still, it was far more durable and stronger.
"AGH!" grunted Tione, as her waist was cut open with one of the Juggernaut's claws.
The rest couldn't even care to bother because the Juggernaut was keeping them occupied. Riveria and her mages as well as several under leveled adventurers were behind the battle supporting the adventurers that fought the powerful monster. Loki watched on as well and was fearful of her children's story ending here.
"Haha! We can't kill the damn thing, but that doesn't mean we can just lose hope and die!" said Bell, as his sword finally cracked the juggernaut's skull after so many continuous slashes.
The rest noticed this and knew that built up damage would lead to the eventual death of this monster. The arc of desire skill grew even stronger as time went by. It's effects were almost endless as Bell's back felt like lava at this point. This skill was meant to make fellow friends and heroes experience the influence of a great hero.
"Bell, we can't continue for much longer! It's strength keeps pushing us back from its body!" alerted Tiona, watching the young hero easily get through the Juggernaut's defenses.
Bell smiled constantly throughout. An impossibly strong monster that he would be able to defeat even when he's only level 6. He was really level 7 at this point, but a level 9 monster is still beyond the limit. He was only able to hurt the juggernaut because of chain attack and his master development ability. His other Familia attacking it also allowed him to attack it without much consequence on his hand.
"Tione is down for the count, but Ais and Gareth seem to have grown beyond there own levels. We need to keep pushing because the monster is actually getting pushed back!" informed Finn, who had only used one arm this entire time.
Unfortunately for the bunch, the juggernaut made a deep cut into Tiona. It was a cut from the traps to the chest. More specifically, from the left Trapezius to almost the other side of her chest. This was quite the brutal injury as she passed out on the spot. Ais, Gareth, Finn, and Bete were the only level 7 people left. The level 6s were simply there to distract the Juggernaut and see if constant attacks on one spot would be there saving grace.
"Ais! Use Ariel! We're going to all attack one spot and see if it works out!" ordered Bell, who thought of something on the spot.
Bete wasn't able to get together with them, but he distracted the Juggernaut with the rest of the level 6s. Some were instantly wounded, but they kept going until the Level 7s and Bell were able to perform there attack.
"DIE YOU MONSTER!" yelled out Ais, surprising the rest for a bit.
They all charged against its skull and it unexpectedly cracked open. The juggernaut roared and wrangled as the pain it experienced was immeasurable. They were knocked back as it seemed to bleed into pure darkness. The roar was capable of knocking everyone else away as it laid down, seemingly dead.
"That thing is not dead. The dust would've showed that." instantly said Finn, knowing that dust usually signifies a monster dying.
He was right. The juggernaut got back up and it's eyes glowed as red as ever. It's death bearing eyes put fear into those that angered it. It was meant to slay, and so shall it.
"Shit, we have to get out of here before it slices all of us in half!" said Bete, undoubtedly knowing death is the only option here.
The Familia ran in all directions as the Juggernaut chased the weaker members of the remaining Familia. Many were killed on the spot as it ravaged through them all with ease.
Fortunately, Bell was on the Juggernaut. He was holding on with his sword and was slowly killing it off. It roared in pain as it tried to kill as many as it could before dying. Bell used his charge skill to amplify his magic beyond its very limit.
"Golden Death"
It created a large beam of light that entered the monster's body and electrocuted every being of it. It was obliterated on the spot and was left with no magic stone. It's skull survived, but it was killed when pumped with incredible amounts of magic.
The rest were blinded with how bright the magic was as the surrounding area was littered with electricity. The battle ended, and there journey to becoming heroes had finally begun.
"Damn, that bastard did it." said Bete, clicking his tongue.
Far from anywhere stood a country named Beltane. There resided many Familias, but the most well known being the Hestia Familia. The Familia grew in power as there most powerful member, Welf, created magic swords that were similar to Argonaut's firesword. He was level 6 for the same reason these magic swords allowed him to gain immense power through killing powerful monsters.
"Captain, you've heard of the chaos happening? Thank god this country is practically unknown to the world." said Lili, a level 3 member of the Hestia Familia.
"About some queen of monsters and the defeat of some monster invasion? It's not much if that sword master and great mage are the ones dealing with it. They are the most powerful adventurers in history anyways." responded Welf, not caring much for the outside world.
"About that, the Loki Familia is said to be back. They were spotted at the Sword Smithing country where they met up with Hephaestus." informed Lili.
"Really? They just disappeared and now they suddenly exist?" wondered Welf.
"All that was said is that they have multiple level 7s and one of them is said to be the next hero. That's what the Loki Familia said, but I don't exactly believe that with how powerful the Zeus Familia members are."
Welf was carefree about anything going on. His blacksmith skills were known across the east, but his contracts were insanely expensive and difficult to get. The Zeus Familia was the only Familia that made Welf craft a magic sword for them. This proved to be a waste of money to the most powerful members.
"The next hero? Aren't they asking for too much? Who even is this guy? A hero in a world like this is so foolish that even the gods would laugh at such a dream."
Beltane was a peaceful nation that had every defensive position and advantage known to mankind. Many mountain ranges surrounded it and countless dangerous rivers also added to it. The nation was built on a short mountain and was therefore the most defended country in terms of warfare and monster invasions. The Hestia Familia's strength only further increased it's defensive capabilities.
"Zeus, it seems that the Loki Familia is back. Supposedly a new hero is going to rise in there Familia. It's quite the ambitious saying, but who am I to care." spoke Liam, a level 6 of the Familia.
"Ah, so he finally decided to do something. It's still possible that he has to convince his Familia, but it's great to know his finally chasing his foolish dreams." replied Zeus, snickering at the thought of his grandson finally having a harem.
"I'm not going to pry into what you know of this supposed hero, but if your confident about him, I'll be there for the ride. Hopefully Atlas and Eliphas don't argue with each other and end the world."
The two always had contradicting views on heroes. Atlas wanted to create one, but Eliphas thought it's a foolish possibility. Atlas kept arguing the fact that a hero could genuinely save this dark world, but Eliphas sees it as too ambitious. The powerful mage has reason to believe this because even Argonaut in one of the darkest times of the world didn't have to deal with overpowered monsters and half the continent being wiped out in an instant.
Eliphas wasn't a man to believe in heroes when the world is basically being destroyed as they speak. Atlas only believed in them after witnessing the Zeus and Hera Familia's legacy. Eliphas was still a smart and talented guy, and with the knowledge of his former goddess, Athena, he has reason to believe a hero isn't possible in a time like this.
It's illogical to believe in foolish dreams.
Author's Note:
I didn't have much free time, but I finally had some time off these couple of days. Anyways, all I have to say here is that I definitely need to improve in the romance department. I'm simply not built for that and wouldn't dare to write about it without making my brain cringe into oblivion. That's why I'm going to make another fanfic specifically made for that. That's only when I'm done with this one of course.
Reviews are really needed even if it means hurting my ego and feelings.
(I keep writing too fast and I feel that I'm making the story way worse because of it :c)
Thanks for reading!
