"Danny?!" Gwen said in surprise to see her boyfriend here.
After eight grueling weeks of torturing drama exploited for televised entertainment,
"Hey, Gwen," Danny shyly waved.
"What are you doing here? I thought I wouldn't see you in a few days?" Gwen asked her boyfriend
"You can thank this guy." Danny pointed behind him with a thumb.
The blond, sharply dressed man walked up, pulling at his collar with a smile. He went up to Chris, who shook hands with the man.
"So...who's Richie Rich here?" Duncan snarked, eyeing the blond man furiously.
"Meet—" Chris started, gesturing to the man.
"Blake Bellamy, station owner of Bellamy Broadcasting. It is very nice to meet you all here on Total Drama Island," Blake introduced himself with a flawless smile, holding the hems of his jacket.
"Ok, but why is Danny here?" Gwen crossed her arms with one big eye focused on the host. She knew the man was never one for charity on the show without reason, making her want to hold onto Danny tightly.
"I brought him here." Blake patted Chris on the back. "Chris here said it would be great for ratings. So I checked the dating service you used, called them up, chartered a flight over to Amity Park, and explained everything to the young man, bringing us to now."
"Oh!" Everyone said in unison. It made too much sense not to.
"Hello there, Contestants of total drama. I'm PFN, and this is my buddy BeconFuzzedwriter. We work with You+Me=Love, which some of you should know," PFN introduced himself.
"Is a pleasure to meet you all," BeconFuzzedwriter said to them.
With all questions answered Gwen approached Danny and kissed him on the lips. It was short but passionate that after they were finished, Gwen felt embarrassed about showing her affection toward Danny in front of everyone who was staring at the goth.
"Well, this was awkward," Danny said, blushing from the kiss.
"Considering you just kissed for the entire audience to see, I'd say you set a new record," Chris teased, holding back his snickering laughter as he pointed to the cameras pinpointing Danny and Gwen. As they stared, the teens blushed a deeper shade of crimson, going scarlet red.
Out of embarrassment, the goth girl dropped her boyfriend, holding her hands against her chest as her pale face was painted red till no hint of her usual color could be hinted at.
The ghost boy groaned, slapping his face. No doubt this would end up being recorded by his parents when it hit the States, with the possibility of the kiss being photographed and framed. Jack and Maddie Fenton were not your typical parents, but they still were just as exasperating.
"Now, with that done. Would everyone who's walked the dock of shame and left camp on the boat of losers kindly take a seat on the peanut gallery of failure? The side you choose should represent who you would cheer on for victory in today's final competition. As for our special guess, he will do that too," Chris explained, continuing like nothing had happened as previous campers came on the set.
Gwen and Owen recognized their former competition as they walked by. The fat boy greeted everyone with a smile, holding his hand up for the occasional high-five. Even for Heather, he knew no enemy.
His co-finalist could only blink as she recalled everyone awkwardly. Being the less social butterfly, only a few faces made an impact, except for Trent, who gave a curious eye to Danny.
Chris shepherded the group to take a seat on one of the bleachers, reiterating how each side represents the camper they would root to win. However, the pace was slower than possible, and Heather decided to have some fun.
Adjusting her wig, the queen bee walked over with the same faux smile she would use in the season's beginning, waving at Danny. Gwen, too dazed by everything happening, did not notice until it was too late.
"Well, hello, there, cutie. I'm Heather, Gwen's best friend on the island," Heather said as she fluttered her eyes. She took a finger under the ghost boy's chin, bringing him close as the campers gasped.
"Uh, ok?" Danny felt uncomfortable and moved a little bit away from her. There was so much context and drama that he was out of touch, but he could tell when things were getting weird or too good to sound true.
Even with the wig, Heather was still a beautiful girl who would never greet Danny, much less look at him with a smile. Maybe it was a culture shock, but the boy would not take chances.
"How about you tell me a little bit about yourself, cutie," Heather's flirtatious tone never left, even as Leshawna stormed over, ready to whoop the scrawnier girl.
"Uhhh...I'm from Amity Park." Danny was unsure when he spoke, but the words escaped his mouth defensively, as if trying to start on the wrong foot. With luck, he was on point as Heather went wide-eyed and backed away with enough speed for her wig to fly off. Everyone watched as the artificial hair was refitted on the girl's head, who was holding back her gag reflex.
"You mean Amity Park, as in that place where Jerk McLoser, Dash Baxter, lives!?"
Danny nodded, partially smiling at the insults now being thrown at Dash.
"Get away from me! I want nothing to do with that loser town! That guy is disgusting!" Heather stormed away, over to the Owen beach, and sat beside Izzy.
"Well, that was a 180," Danny snarked with a dry chuckle.
Gwen, grateful that Danny didn't fall into any of Heather's tricks, joined in. However, she wouldn't let the queen bee slide, even if she bailed halfway through her scheme.
"Nice rug," Gwen snarked.
"Shut it," Heather demanded.
"That's a wig?" Danny scratched his head, watching as Izzy played with the piece, much to Heather's ire.
"Hey!" Eva shouted, scaring everyone, not Danny stiff, as the girl stormed over. This contestant was like a bodybuilder in her blue athletic wear, putting the jocks back at Amity Park to shame.
And the worst part was that she seemed ready to rage out at Danny, who gulped in real fear.
Gwen tried to protect her boyfriend but was pushed aside like a stuffed doll. She could not do anything but watch as the ghost boy was hoisted up by one arm with his face inches from Eva's.
"You're from Amity Park?" Eva's voice was stone-cold and blunt. "You know anything about a TooFineTuck?"
"Eva! We already established he's from that loser town!" Heather growled in frustration. She rolled her eyes, uncertain about enjoying Gwen's suffering as the female bully was n the edge of going to town on Danny.
This is the Eva who finally got Tyucker to change his profile? Danny thought, putting the piece together. He could recall the state of intense fear Tucker showed that night. At first, the ghost boy thought his friend was getting a dose of karma, but seeing the girl jock in person gave him a new perspective on the dating service.
Maybe if he survived, the ghost boy could file a complaint with the
Luckily, Chris had none of it, blowing a whistle as he got everyone's attention.
"Ok, that's enough! We're not here to watch Eva and her issues! We're here to see Owen and Gwen duke it out for the $1,000,000 prize!" Chris clapped his hands. "Now, let's get things rolling!"
With groans, Eva dropped the ghost boy as she stormed over to Gwen's bench. The irony was not lost on anyone, wondering why she picked that side, but no one wanted to risk the pain of asking and the more horrendous torture of her answer.
"Alright, now that everything is settled..." The host eyed the campers and contestants sternly. "Every-thing?...good. Now, let's begin the challenge!"
Heather stared at Owen and Gwen, the latter with more maliciousness, and smiled equally wickedly. The goth girl had been a thorn in her side for too long, being the one to side with Owen and causing her loss with the challenge and her beautiful locks of hair.
Gwen is going down. Heather thought to herself, patting something in her pocket.
"Why is Heather smiling like that?" Gwen asked, noticing the look.
"Maybe she loves her new do, or she could be just really happy for us,"
Owen answered, glancing at his former competition.
"Wow, do you have a bad thought about anyone?" Gwen was surprised at the fat boy's innocence on the matter.
As if to emphasize her point, Owen shrugged his shoulders, not knowing what Gwen meant, and continued to smile. Who knew there was a person
so accepting in this dog-eat-dog world?
With the cameras rolling, Chris turned to the finalist, asking them what they would do with the money if they won.
"Well, I'm pretty proud of myself for getting this far. Maybe if I can survive here, then the rest of high school wouldn't be so bad," Gwen started, turning to Owen. "I'm always good on my word and promised to split the money with Owen. That would leave me a ton of cash. I guess I'll go traveling and go to university to study Art History...after I use the money to go on another date with Danny." the girl blushed at the last part, enticing Danny to do the same as he felt Leshawna chewer the couple on.
Some female camper, particularly Lindsay and Beth, ooh at that for being a bit romantic and causing Danny to the winnings to go on a date with the ghost boy was emotionally overflowing, even if no one showed their hand. Yet, Danny could not help being impressed with how Gwen knew what she wanted to do. That focus and drive helped her win.
"Wow, that's really sweet. Boring, but sweet," Chris added with a smile here and there. He seemed touched before giving the spotlight to the last finalist. "Owen?"
Owen hummed to himself, almost like he was deep in thought. For a moment,t everyone who knew him thought he'd have something special in mind besides being a party animal that lived in the moment.
Boy, were they wrong?
"I'd throw the biggest, hugest, sickest party ever! And invite everyone here! Boo-yah!" Owen yelled triumphantly, earning the majority of the campers' support as they cheered with him. The idea was too good, as some of the campers on Gwen's side pondered switching over.
"Oh, and I forgot, it'll be on a yacht!" Owen added.
That brought campers like Justin, Bridgette, Katie, Sadie, Lindsay, and DJ over to his side. This left only Leshawna, Trent, Cody, Danny, and, for some reason, Eva on the goth's side.
"At least not all of you are sellouts," Gwen snarked in frustration.
"Alright! It's time for the final challenge: the rejected Olympic relay race!"
Danny felt dread creep down his spine, not liking that sound. "Each of the events was presented to the committee but sadly was rejected as an Olympic sport."
For some reason, the image of Chef in a rack suit plunging a flaming plunger down a disgusting toilet seemed like the appropriate representation for these events, especially if they were being used on a reality show.
Chris explained the final challenges by respectively giving Gwen and Owen a chicken and a cow hat. The goth had a good idea why this event was rejected, already annoyed by the headgear. Owen's group cringed as they heard how first everyone would be climbing up a pole to grab a flag.
It was going to be tough for the big guy.
The second part involved crossing a 300-meter balance beam while carrying an eagle's egg. At first, it did not seem like much till Owen scoffed. Chris revealed how the campers' "friends," the rare, man-eating, freshwater sharks, would be below, waiting for them to slip up. Danny stood up in shock, crying out how the heck that was possible as
Leshawna calmed him down.
"Is this what you guys were going through the entire time here?!" Danny shouted.
Every contestant nodded their heads in somber unison. The half-ghost boy was sure he might go full ghost from shock, but he was more worried about Gwen, who seemed cynical about the matter.
To the confusion of everyone, the last segment was a simple run back to the finish line. No comments were made as Gwen and Owen donned their hats.
"Good luck, Owen. If there's anyone I want to lose to, it will be you," Gwen told him.
"Ah, that's so nice. I hope you lose to me, too," Owen said.
"On your mark, get set, go!" Chris told the two finalists.
Owen and Gwen raced to the polls while some campers and Danny joined them on the field. Trent and Danny were on both sides of Gwen as they kept up, both focused on the girl.
"If I ignore you will you go away," Gwen told Trent.
"You can't get rid of me that easily," Trent said.
"I'm missing something, Gwen?" Danny asked her.
"Well, it's kinda complicated, Danny," Gwen said.
"Oh, that's right, I never said hi," Trent said, extending a hand to Danny.
"I'm Trent...and yeah...things are complicated."
The ghost boy reached out and shook hands with the musician. "Does it involve Heather?"
"...Yeah..." That's all Trent could say.
"We'll talk about this when you're finished with the challenge," Danny said.
Gwen arrived first at the poles, to no one's surprise, as she started climbing. Then, however, she began to slip. It was like the pole was greased in butter or something. The girl could not get a grip as she slid to the ground with every attempt to climb.
No one saw Heather with the tub of butter snickering and hiding the leftover condiment. Well...except for the cameras that she winked at.
"Just because your rooting for me doesn't mean I should like you," Gwen said.
"I thought you were over me kissing you," Trent said.
"What?!" Danny was shocked to hear this. Then he gave a scary glare at the guitar player.
"Yeah...Heather tricked me, man. I didn't mean to kiss your girlfriend, honest," he tried to de-escalate the situation.
Danny continues to glare jealously at the guitarist. For all he knew, every once of context was needed before anything else. "I'm keeping my eyes on you," he said.
Trent lowered his head in shame. The reaction was only fair after screwing up everything, only hoping he could earn the ghost boy's forgiveness.
"If you two are done talking can you help me get up this pole," Gwen told the two boys as she tried to get a grip for the umpteenth time.
Both boys looked at the goth girl and decided to talk about the kiss later and help Gwen get up the pole. Trent removed his shirt to wipe off whatever was making Gwen slip on the pole, much to the annoyance of the ghost boy, but stopped short as he saw the couple's reaction, particularly the torn look on Gwen's.
Even for all her not as social traits, the girl was like everyone else and liked the sight of abs. This made her feel guilty, and she then smiled sheepishly at Danny.
"Sorry about that...got a better idea?" Trent said.
The boys turned to see the other campers rooting for Owen, going underneath the bog guy as they pushed him up, an exhausting task as one of them collapsed seconds into the act. That gave Gwen's side the same idea. Lifting the goth by the foot, Danny and Trent helped her reach the flag in time.
Heather growled at her failed plan as Gwen exited the pole and ran to the next challenge. However, she could do nothing else as she was part of the group lifting Owen.
"Thanks, Danny," Gwen said.
"No problem, Gwen," Danny said as he followed her. He turned to Trent, but part of his face still showed his frustration. "And I guess the same goes for you too."
"Thanks," Trent said with a smile.
Whatever was going on was cut short as a long, high-pitched squeaking was heard throughout the island. Everyone was focused on Owen as the boy grabbed his flag, sliding the boy painfully.
"Ahh! Pole burn!" Owen cried out as he reached the ground.
That was Gwen's cue to run, making her way to the cliff, where the 300 feet' balance beams were. She looked into the steep gorge, where the sharks greeted her with pitch-black eyes and long, toothy smiles. The fish gaped their mouths, showing off their rows of teeth.
"I'm going to die now. I'm going to freaking die now," Gwen saw what she had to cross.
Danny felt worried and wanted to help, but since there were so many cameras, he couldn't transform to protect Gwen in any way. All he could do was watch as his girlfriend grabbed the eagle egg.
"Don't worry," Trent said, touching the boy's shoulder. "We've been through this all season. Gwen's got this." He pointed to a nearby bridge, one made for the camera crew and campers. "All we can do now is wait for her to win."
The musician walked over to the other as Gwen managed to keep a steady lead as Owen arrived and grabbed his egg. Danny crossed the bridge with everyone as he watched the two cross the balance beam.
"Ok, Gwen has her Eagle's egg and is starting the second challenge," Chris said from the other end.
Danny almost jumped in surprise, having forgotten about the host. A few steps were taken as he saw Chef, the chef, and co-host of Total Drama Island, mainly by his thought demeanor.
"I'm afraid to ask, but what are the eggs for?" Danny said.
"Oh, you'll see," Chef replied before chuckling darkly.
Danny gulped, regretting his actions as he watched Gwen, feeling helpless as he saw the goth girl momentarily lose balance. It took every fiber of willpower to keep himself from running off to transform. He wanted to help, but his secret was not safe.
Gwen regained her stability, going back to slowly going over the gorge. Everyone sighed in relief, including Chris and Chef, who were at their wit's end earlier, and soon, Owen started his trek across.
The two were halfway over when they heard the cries of some local eagles, and they looked angry as they divebombed at the two. Once again, helplessness engulfed Danny as he could only watch as his girlfriend and her competitor were under siege.
"Angry eagle parents?" Chris said with a smile.
"Oh snap! That is messed up!" Duncan said next to the host. He was impressed by Chris's choice and gave a low five.
Danny and Courtney both looked at the green-dyed punk as he watched in interest. The latter was unimpressed by Duncan's juvenile taste in humor, and the former had half a mind on venting his frustration on the boy but refraining, knowing the difference between being angry at a jock and being mad at a punk. The latter would likely not stop at one punch.
"Did you just bring me here to watch my girlfriend fall to her doom?" Danny asked the host.
"Maybe," Chris didn't answer one way or another.
"It makes great television, lover boy," Duncan said, jabbing with an elbow.
"Really, dude! My girlfriend could die out there if she makes one wrong step!" Danny told the punk.
"I agree with Danny here. They could die!" Courtney added.
"Mellow your yellow, you two. This is awesome TV," Duncan said as Courtney and Danny glared at him.
Duncan is so immature. What is it with almost dying in bodily function that guys love? Courtney thought to herself before saying. "Why would I want to watch Owen and Gwen risk their lives?"
"This is life at its most raw. Look at Twinkie over here. One wrong move and his girlfriend is shark bait. That would be an interesting moment," Duncan explained with a laugh. He gave the girl a dangerous look, sending a shiver down her body.
Well, danger is hot. Courtney felt flustered.
Danny did not know what to think as Courtney grabbed Ducan by the collar and kissed him on the lips. The two went about in a makeout session as the brown-haired girl denied her apparent feelings.
"You're still not my type," Courtney said.
"You make me sick," Duncan retorted as they continued to kiss.
Danny ignored them, returning his focus to Gwen, who was still in danger, with no clue what to do. His heart raced as she lost her balance again, all while trying to avoid the oncoming eagles.
"Trust me. She's got this," Trent said.
"And I trust you...why?" Danny turned to the boy with a glare.
"Trust me, Danny." Trent pointed at the goth girl.
The boys went on to silently cheer Gwen on but soon found their view blocked by Heather and a ruggedly handsome tanned man she was pushing forward.
"Out of the way. I need to make sure Gwen's not distracted," Danny said.
"Then you're both gonna hate this!" Heather pulled off Justin's shirt, revealing his highly toned features. From his chiseled jawline and dreamy blue eyes to the perfect distribution of his muscles as the sun shined on his toned abs, everyone was now in a trance, even the eagles and sharks.
"Wow!" Gwen said in a daze, almost dropping her egg.
"So beautiful...no words..." Owen said, equally in a trance.
"Hey, Gwen! Are you going to keep looking at the incredibly hot man candy over here, or will you keep on going?" Danny called out with his hands like a megaphone. His shout did the trick as Gwen broke out of her stupor, racing to cross the beam. Owen followed soon as both finalists made it to the end.
Gwen raced with Danny and Trent, not wasting a second for the girl.
Owen took his time to say goodbye, prompting Heather to scare him back into the race as the two sprinted on the last leg.
Heather watched from behind as Gwen kept the lead. "Ugh!" she cried out, grabbing something from her pocket. "When is that stupid cupcake gonna kick in?!" she seethed.
Suddenly, she heard gas expelling itself from Owen in rapid succession. The big guy couldn't hold himself together as his odorous toots sang off-key, prompting the fella to hold his backside as he ran for the nearest restroom.
However, the only available toilet was the confessional cam booth, but it didn't matter to the big guy. When you gotta go, you gotta go.
"Owen, noooooo!" Chris screamed as Owen's gastric assault in the wooden lavatory was heard throughout the island.
The confessional now smelled of Owen's large intestines, and no one wanted to go there anymore, not even the nearby flies.
As Danny, Gwen, and Trent were heading to the finish line. Trent was trying to get the attention of Danny and Gwen. He wanted to be forgiven for his stupid actions about kissing Gwen, hoping they could still be friends.
"So, are you two still mad at me for what I did?" Trent asked the couple.
"Nope," Gwen answered.
"Not really," Danny said.
"So, do you forgive me?" Trent asked.
"Nope," Gwen answered again.
"I'm not sure," Danny replied.
"I'm pretty stubborn," Trent told the both of them.
"Oh really," Gwen was curious.
"I'm a Straight A student," he mentions.
"I don't really care that you're a straight-A student. I'm still not forgiving you for what you did to me that easily," Gwen said teasingly.
"Then, I'll prove I'm worth forgiving by-," Trent looked around and saw a giant boulder, picking it up along the way. He earned the confused stares of Danny and Gwen, both speechless at his gesture. "I must be really crazy for caring about both of you for holding this boulder," Trent ran with the heavy boulder in his arms.
Danny decided to intervene before Trent got hurt or something worse.
"Hey, drop the rock, or you'll hurt yourself," Danny told him.
"I am trying to convince you and Gwen to forgive me for what I did. I know kissing Gwen was really stupid, and I should have thought before doing it. But I really like Gwen as a friend, and I don't want to lose that friendship between me and her. So I want to mend bridges before the end," Trent told the two.
Gwen and Danny looked at each other before they decided on their answer. For what it was worth, Trent had done nothing to anger or insult them, and it was Heather's fault. The couple sighed, deciding to bury the hatchet.
"Maybe I was too harsh on you, and we could start over," Gwen said with a smile.
"Yeah, maybe I was harsh on you too. I was slightly jealous that I might lose Gwen to you," Danny told him.
"It alright, man. I might have been jealous of you, too, if Gwen and I were dating, and I might have done something stupid to win her back," Trent chuckled as all the tension was defused.
The trio shared a smile, happy the edge was gone, but a tasty scent in the air soon replaced it.
"Do you guys smell brownies?" Danny asked, sniffing the air once more.
Suddenly out of nowhere, Owen pushed Danny aside for the fresh smell of brownies, ramming him like the bull he was partially dressed as.
"Danny!" Gwen and Trent said in unison As they worried if the boy was alright.
"I'm alright, but you should keep going, Gwen..." Danny told his girlfriend. "Don't worry about me. I had worst."
Gwen gave a small smile to him before nodding and going full speed ahead. She was catching up with Owen as they saw the finish line, where the two saw Izzy holding up a plate of brownies to a large electric fan.
Not to mention the sight of Leshawna grabbing Heather and throwing her in the confessional cam, with Owne's lingering gastric smells leftover.
Danny watched as he caught up to Trent, who had forgotten to let go of the boulder. The guy was tougher than he looked, but he reached his limit as the rock was dropped.
"Is it bad that Gwen is not only pretty, smart, and a great kisser, but that confidence is why I really like her, even more than ever?" Danny had a wide smile on his face.
"I understand the feeling, man," Trent said to Danny, holding his hand for a high five.
Gwen caught up to Owen, and now they were neck to neck. Unfortunately for Owen, his mind was on the brownies, and because Izzy was in the wrong spot, he tackled her, and the brownies went flying, causing Gwen to cross the finish line first. Though the party was canceled, all the campers cheered for her victory and the end of the season.
"The winner of Total Drama Island is Gwen!" Chris announced.
Back in Amity Park, in the mayor's house, Vlad was in his laboratory looking at his scanners, searching for a certain someone. With satellites he had orbited around Earth, there was no way he would lose sight of his quarry.
The signature was locked on, revealing stops in various locations like Danville, Japan, Bellwood, and Canada. Right now, the target is in Paris, France.
Vlad smirked as he phrased out of his lab and took to the air in his ghost form, happy to see his plans were progressing smoothly. And speaking of business, the man had to return to his mayoral duties, keeping up appearances as he snuck back into his office without alerting anyone the wiser. The intercom buzzed on his desk as a call came from his secretary. Vlad rolled his eyes, wondering what mundane politics he had to attend to.
"What is it?" Vlad sighed as he pushed a button.
"Mayor Masters, your twelve o'clock is here," the woman on the other end said.
This caught Vlad's attention, smirking as he answered back with a cheery tone. "Let them in."
