AUTHOR NOTE

An apology and a clarification.

Uh-oh. I should not have posted the last two chapters back to back like I did. As that seems to have caused some chaos and confusion as they say on Sodor.

Little Miss Kitty and A Tale of Two Phoenix are two separate story ideas with their own continuity. They both share the basis of Hermione having the cat transformation in second year as one of the key ingredients in their plot and story though. This is because that major of a transformation would leave a psychological, emotional as well as physical and magical scar. That is one of the few major critical things I have with the canon Potterverse. Things happen that would leave a huge trauma for the characters but it's barely if ever referenced again. Ginny gets basically mind-raped over a year and comes out of it with no mention of therapy or other issues. Hermione almost dies in the bathroom in first year, gets a physical transformation that takes over a month to reverse in second year, third year almost burns out from stress of time travel in third year, fourth year watches her best friend go through a gladiatorial style tournament, 5th year starts a underground resistance group, 6th year is involved in combat against terrorists, and 7th year fights in a war. Then let's not even go down Harry's path. To say that the therapy bills these kids would be facing would be astronomical is probably an understatement. PTSD, Depression, Trauma, GUILT beyond belief. If we took a realistic approach it would probably not be a very happy epilogue. I'm not a trained psychologist but I've spent some time on the couch talking to one. So yeah.

But back to the two story ideas. Little Miss Kitty is supposed to be an examination of Hermione trying to develop her own identity on the magical line between being a human or a cat or human. Winding up somewhere in the middle ground between the two as a human with cat tendencies. High aspirations that I hope I don't choke on indeed. She was going to remain a cat-girl and Harry was not going to transform. At least according tot he notes I jotted down in my notebook.

A Tale of Two Phoenix though they were going to be chimeric and transform into Phoenix as their only non-human form but have some of the capabilities of the animals that they had major encounters with in that Harry could taste the air and Hermione had the enhanced senses and reflexes of a cat. The Heart's Blood idea was a derivation of the Soulbond trope in the fanfiction community. They will eventually develop a way to put a wall between them so that they do not feel or know every little thing and there will be no assimilation into one gestalt mind. They will get an understanding of each other and maybe pick up a few personality quirks and traits from the other. I know after 30 years of being married to my wife she and I have done that according to our friends. And that's without being in each other's heads constantly. Lol

So I hope that clears that up. I did not intentionally do this and it is a very interesting idea of having one flow into the other. But that's not what I meant to do. So sorry for any hopes I raised or confusion I caused. Thank you for the support and appreciation for this.
