Mika wiped the small amount of blood from her lip and sighed, "That old bastard..."

Hawks grinned while texting the number, "You left yourself open."

She rolled her eyes, "How would you know?"

"Cause after I took out the muscle, I watched," he chuckled, "It was a good show."

"You're an idiot," her hand rubbed the back of her neck, "One more..."

He nodded her over, "Let's head that way."

Mika held his shoulders, "I still hate this."

He placed the headphones back on her ears and smiled, "It's amusing."

"I'm still not afraid to tell everyone you squawk-Hawks!"

He laughed as he shot into the air mid sentence. Her nails dug into his shoulders. He tightened his hold around her as he went into the clouds for cover. Mika honestly had such a personality. She hid it well, but he was glad that she seemed to be getting somewhat comfortable being herself around him. His eyes narrowed, a downwind was about to hit. His gloved hand held the back of her head as he dove down out of its way, he felt her panic slightly. Hawks gave her body a squeeze before he continued on their way.

When they landed Mika held on tight. Hawks slowly pulled off the headphones, placing them on his neck. He placed a hand on her head, "It was either that or we get bullied by a downdraft."

She nodded and slowly let go, opening her eyes, "it's okay." She let out a breath, the mask coming back into her features, "Last one..." she looked at her watch, "And it's only two."

"We make a good team," he smirked and looked around them, "This one might be a handful..."

"What-"

Mika was pulled to the side by Hawks as bullets made their way towards them. Her mind immediately switched to fight mode as she cut her palms, using her quirk to make jagged whips. A bullet fired towards her, her arms moved, the whip quickly following, slicing the bullet. Hawks let out a low whistle, "Welp, you've got this, I'm gonna go find big papa."

Mika blocked another bullet, "Make it quick, I've used a lot of blood tonight."

He hadn't thought about that. He nodded and took off. Mika narrowed her eyes as her opponent jumped down to her level, her eyes widened. It was him. She had heard rumors he had died, one was he moved away, another was he had joined a crime mob.

The once hero grinned wickedly, "Mikasa, god it's been forever...you look good."

"Fuck off," she grit her teeth.

"I'll kill you this time you little bitch," he activated his quirk, shooting towards her as his hands turned to solid rock.

Mika flipped out of his way and opened her palm, shooting sharp crimson spikes towards him. She needed to keep her head in the game. This man had ruined her in so many ways. Taken her innocence, her passion, her drive. For years she felt soiled, barely able to look at herself in the mirror without hearing the words he said to her that night. A rage began to fill her as she cut her palm deeper.

Hawks huffed as he sat on the back of the Yusuke Tomage, the last target. The man struggled against the pro heroes weight, his cuffed arms behind his back. The blonde chuckled, "You were a tough one," he patted the man's head and stood, "or maybe I'm just getting tired."

Yusuke opened his mouth but the hero quickly placed a sock in it before jogging out of the door. Odd, he thought, Mikasa should be done by now. He frowned and set off to find her.

Mika had taken some hard hits. The man in front of her had as well. Multiple gashes and cuts adorned his body, his blood dripping off of his form.

"You've gotten nice and strong," his said breathlessly, "I knew you would."

Hawks jogged up and looked them over, "Did I miss the good part?"

Hallie straightened and let out a long breath, "Hawks...I have to break a deal."

He thought for a moment before it clicked, "Mika no-"

"He got away once," she swallowed and moved her hardened eyes to him, on the verge of tears, "I can't let him go again."

Golden eyes snapped to the man. It was him. The ex hero. Before he could say anything, Mika took off, her opponent cackled doing the same. "Dammit," his eyes watched them, looking for an opening.

Mika was in a blind rage, making her hits harder and harder. The man winced and hardened his fists once more. She knew it was going to hurt, but she needed him to be open as his fists landed on either side on her ribs. She placed an open palm to his chest and smirked as a large spear shot through him. He stumbled back and fell to his knees. Hawks immediately grabbed Mika and spun her around into his chest.

"That's enough," his voice was soft, "it's over."

Her breaths were shaky and short as she tried to regain her composure. Gold eyes glared at the man bleeding out on the ground. He noticed his hand slowly moving towards his gun. Hawks locked his jaw as he opened his wings, sending a single feather to pierce through the man's head, killing him instantly. He called it back and placed it in his pocket.

"I'm sorry," Mika's voice was soft, barely above a whisper.

Hawks held her in place, "Don't be. I'm sure you had you reasons."

She nodded and rested her forehead on his chest, "I wanna leave now."

Hawks pulled out his phone, sending the quick text. "I'll take you home." She snaked her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder as he took off, keeping his tight hold. He had zero remorse for killing that man. That piece of shit could rot in hell.

He took his time flying back. Letting her decompress quietly. The cold felt nice on his heated skin. That man made his blood want to boil.

He slowly landed on the balcony of her apartment and made a move to release her. She kept her hold and let out a long breath. He pet her head, "You wanna talk about it?"

"It's not important," she made a move to let go but his arms didn't budge.

"It is to me," he studied her face as he watched the battle behind her eyes.

"Can we go inside?" He nodded and let go of her as she opened her balcony door. He shut it behind them as she turned on a lamp, "I used to go to UA." She slid her jacket from her shoulders and threw it aside, "I was on patrol with a sidekick one night. We had just taken down some petty crime," she began to pulled her hair out of its tight braid, "One minute we were talking, the next," she paused for a moment, "I was sexually assaulted. After that, I left UA and finished school as quickly as possible."

"I see," he cleared his throat, not sure how to respond now that she had actually opened up and told him, "I'm sorry. People are shitty, and men like that deserve nothing but the worst."

Mika bit her lip and nodded, "I don't like killing...but that felt good."

"I can see why," he looked her over, "Are you okay?"

On that moment, the strong mask she wore cracked. She looked away as her grey eyed watered, "I'm fine."

The tall blonde sighed and walked up to her, "You have to do better than that." He wrapped his arms around her into a soft hug, "It's okay not to be okay."

She relaxed in his arms and for the first time in years, she allowed herself to cry. Hawks stood there quietly, not daring to take this release from her. He rested his chin on the top of her head and waited patiently.

After a few moments, she pulled away and wiped her eyes. He looked down at her and pushed her hair from her face, "You need to get some rest."

Mika nodded, "Yeah, you do too."

He placed a soft kiss on her head, "Mika, don't hesitate if you need someone, okay?" He looked at her, "I won't hesitate."

She scoffed with a small smile, "Go home, hero."
