ej101: Happy you liked it! And I'm still deciding, I might go through with the Westerlings as I'll be honest, I kind of phased Talisa out. And besides they have a better connection to Westeros and conflict if it were to occur, you never know! And because they'll be there later on. And the Red Wedding might not happen, depending on how Walder Frey takes, learning his future daughter/granddaughter will not be queen. Please enjoy!

Chapter Forty-One- XLI: The Lion takes a Claim

(Northmen)

"You wish for me to do what?" Jon asked.

"I need you to go to Daenerys and, if she agrees, marry her," Robb hesitated as Jon stuttered. Robb bit his lip as he knew this would be uncomfortable for Jon. He always said he'd never father children or marry, even if he had not joined the night's watch.

"You want Jon to marry his aunt?" Catelyn asked as she paused in her stitching. Most of them have noticed she and Jon were able to be a little amenable to one another. Catelyn apologizes every chance she gets for her actions. It was only when Jon embraced her, telling her he did not blame her nor was he angry, at her at least. With his uncle Ned, yes a few of them were a bit upset with their former lord who hid his sister's son, claiming him a bastard. Though Jon knew why, it did not make his life any easier by claiming he was a lord's bastard son. But Jon also knew it went after Ned's impeachable honor.

"It is not like it is uncommon, Mother. As it is, Rhaenyra and Daenerys come from a sibling pair," Robb spoke.

"Aye, Your Grace. But that was when the Targaryens were in control of Westeros," a lord spoke. He had three daughters and wanted one possibly married to Jon.

"I have already sent my sister the missive. She will no doubt be debating the topic now," Rhaenyra said as Jon nodded.

"I will agree because it is what we need," he said as his cousin and aunt both nodded. "I will leave the moment I am given leave," he said, bowing to her and Robb.

"Go ahead and start preparing for heading East. Ghost may go with you if you wish, but the heat will make him uncomfortable," Robb warned.

"Ghost will go with me regardless, Robb. You know this," Jon grinned as his cousin agreed.

"Very well," he said as he stood. "Lady Stiorra and her husband have offered to take my cousin across the Narrow Sea to make a deal with Daenerys. Therefore our forces will be split only with our growing armada going for Jon. Everyone, start preparing for the journey," he ordered as others agreed.

Jaime decided to go with his daughter for the day as she was going to be examining Alysanne herself. Thoros said that it would help bond the two better. The more time the two spend together, it'll deepen the bond.

"How well is your High Valyrian, Father? Mother said you learn some words too," Baela questioned as Jaime stuttered before smiling.

"Your uncle Tyrion was better for languages," Jaime admitted. "But yes, I do know some words," Jaime claimed while offering his hand with Alysanne. The large blue dragon purred softly as she sniffed Jaime, before allowing him to pet her, slowly but surely he was becoming closer to his daughter's dragon. Some of the lords thought it was too dangerous to have Jaime near the creatures but Robb claims the dragons can protect themselves should Jaime try to harm them, or gods forbid, their riders or the babes. Many noted how Jaime seemed to be trusted more, allowed to voice his opinion when talking about the fastest way to Casterly Rock.

"Well, I need you to bring her to rest normally so I can examine her wings," Baela said. Jaime nodded as he clicked his tongue to gain the female's attention.

"Alysanne," he called, the female trilled softly and crooned to him as he offered his hand. Understanding he wanted her attention, Alysanne lowered her face allowing him to pet her cheek as she purred.

"Easy to start with. Lykirī, which is to be calm. Better to use when she is getting antsy," Baela said. Jaime nodded and repeated the word a bit before whistling as the female confused turned to him. "Say dokimarvose it means 'pay attention'" Baela called as her father nodded once more, mouthing the word before clearing his throat.

"Dokimarvose," he called as Alysanne shook her head confused at someone, aside from her rider and mother, commanding her. She looked at him, tilting her head.

"Embrot means down, I need her to lay somewhat down so her wings are lower," she urged her father.

"Embrot, Alysanne," Jaime said. He was almost twisting his tongue to say some of these words. He did not understand Tyrion's reason for learning the language when they were children and now, he wished he learned some of the language to understand it. Alysanne shook her head before trilling as she did so, lowering herself enough to where her clawed wings laid flat as Baela ran her hands down the she-dragon's wings. Jaime knelt, slowly petting Alysanne's face, did not wish to move further than needed around the female's mouth as she trilled and chattered, obviously uncomfortable with being so low to the ground with someone around her back and wings.

"Not so easy, is it?" Rhaenyra's amused voice made Jaime jump as Baela giggled from under her dragon's wing, the female limp as she was being pet.

"No, I did not realize how hard the language was to learn," he said as she smirked. Alysanne, who perked up at seeing her mother, was about to lift up, her wing would have pinned Baela painfully if Jaime hadn't leapt up. "Lykirī!" he shouted as she froze, eyeing him while her mother also stood with her whip ready. Baela's whip was being finished at White Harbor, Rhaenyra's whip handle had been covered by silver with a dragon head on it. When Baela claimed Alysanne another whip was commissioned for the new dragonrider and her handle would be encased with silver, only this one would have a lion-seahorse duo head for her parents. Baela quickly got out from under the other wing and cleared her unharmed and was free to fly again soon.

"Vēzot!" Rhaenyra demanded, snapping her whip out to the side, away from the she-dragon as the female shot up, as though burned. Jaime noticed how she eyed the whip before looking at her mother once more. "Baela," Rhaenyra ordered, not breaking eye contact until Baela took control.

"Alysanne! Sōvēs!" Baela ordered as the female didso, pushing off the ground with her legs. Easily gaining altitude to join her sisters who flew with her happily. Some nearby clapped, having seen the interaction between the rider and dragon while she was examined, others eyed Jaime distrustfully that he also was controlling the female to some extent. "I have been trying to convince mother to join me on flying but she does not," Baela pouted as Jaime laughed.

"I can see that. She is more for sailing and horseback, I cannot see if she still detests wheelhouses," he mused as she smiled.

"Not so much anymore, she would rather ride in those than on horseback now," Baela revealed as they walked along the banks together with Jaime listening to her.

"So you are to marry," Jaime grinned. Baela gave a tiny groan while smiling with her face reddening.

"Seven Hells," Baela cursed quietly. "I have never laid with a man. A woman, yes. They are very fun," Baela beamed as her father nodded.

"I will agree with you there. Gods, you and Tyrion would be a perfect niece-uncle duo of mischief." Jaime shook his head at her giggle.

"I cannot wait to meet him, if I can," she revealed as he looked at her with a small smile.

"I am sure you will. So tell me, how do you like your betrothed?" Jaime asked. Baela grinned softly before starting. Wolland had known of her preference for women and started off small, at least befriending his future wife and getting to know her to understand everything about her to make their marriage easier. She also was learning some about him as he was loud, friendly, and protective. He was also curious how, if the dragons had more eggs and they hatched, would their children gain their dragon. Baela said how their ancestors did it, laying eggs within the cradles of children or bonding with young dragons or eventually adult dragons if they could not find a young dragon to claim.

Clutching the furs below her, Rhaenyra growled when her husband flipped her over. A soft moan escaped when his hand grazed her breasts, she winced before burying her face again feeling him fill her up as he moaned softly, kissing her back and turning her over before kissing down her body. Content with the taste of her skin, his fingers drifted down before finding her clit as she whimpered, two swipes of his fingers and she crashed, feeling the tight band stretch until it could no longer bear the tension and snapped. Shuddering as she felt her husband withdraw and wrap his robe around himself, sweat shining on both their bare skin, Rhaenyra moaned softly as she rolled over, hand running over her belly while watching her husband look at his battle plan, feeling content before she paused with a small frown. Applying pressure to feel something… odd. She realized as when she applied pressure the solid creature within moved, as though to avoid the foreign pressure she applied. She was just guessing but she knew how her stomach felt and when Valaena told her the ways to feel for a child before wanting to confirm it with a maester and gave hope to her husband once more. She slowly was taking note of any differences she had when carrying the twins to not being pregnant, it wasn't that long ago since she was pregnant and she felt so rushed that she almost barely remembered aside from random foods she wanted to eat and when she felt possessed by her children, her maids and knights all laughed at that analogy.

"You look a million miles away," Robb mused as he watched Rhaenyra lay there, staring at the top of the tent with a concentrated look before seeing her hand drift to her belly. Smiling softly, Rhaenyra rolled to her stand on her feet to pad across the tent, completely bare, to straddle her husband who moaned softly, feeling her heat enclose him as Robb kissed her. Grabbing her hips sharply, he started to help her move, throwing his head back when Rhaenyra leaned back, bracing her hands on his knees, showing their conjoined bodies as Robb brought her closer kissing her breasts, being mindful of the pain in them from the twins and his earlier attention. His kisses drifted over to her new scar on her right shoulder. Robb worried that she could get hit again, but he also knew she would not leave unless Rhaenyra had no choice.

The young dragon queen wanted to tell her husband but also wished to be positive and not say she might be when she wasn't. Wrapping each other in heated embraces they raced to the finish line once more that night.

"Alright, so you have everything?" Rhaenyra asked as her nephew nodded.

"Gods, Rhae. Yes. Forgive me, aunty," he grinned.

"Don't you dare call me that," Rhaenyra threatened with a smile, pointing at him. Others laughed while some thought about how he would address her if not by her title or her familial name.

"Alright, boy. Let's go," Greatjon urged, hoisting his pack higher.

"Father, you are going with Jon? I would have gone in your stead," Smalljon spoke with a small frown.

"And leave me bored?" Greatjon asked, waving his son off. "Nah, I will be fine," he urged while Stiorra chuckled. Sigtryggr would be going as well while his wife remained with the queen and his cousin, Wolland, was going too to be of help.

"Don't worry, if your sister is just like you we shouldn't have to worry," Jon said. Arya was clinging to him fearfully and praying he returned safely and could convince Daenerys to agree. Catelyn also hoped the same and gave Jon a northern token she made for him, 'as his mother was a northerner' she claimed with a small smile. Catelyn was truly trying and Jon also was trying, small things she did when he was a child with Rhaenyra and Theon helped Catelyn accept Jon but still thought of him a bastard. But she was proud to call him her nephew and told him he had been brave to go north and return to the wall, she was hesitant to believe in the undead but seeing the dragons and direwolves made her a believer.

"She has dragons too, do not forget that, nephew," Rhaenyra recalled as he chuckled.

"True. I will be careful and make sure to appease her," he commented softly. Jon knew what was ordered of him and he would try. As it was, knowing he was to marry his aunt stuck in his throat from his northern teachings. But he would do his duty to his family, to the kingdom, to his people. So with that in mind, Jon marched off with the men as many of the Dornish would join too. Thoros had remained with Rhaenyra to help look after her, ensuring this dragon queen survived, he was reported to bring people back, if something happened to Rhaenyra, he could save her. He was considered her healer as he and Melisandre had tended to her during and after her pregnancy. Thoros said he had a feeling he needed to stay nearby for her.

"Maybe my job was not to turn Robert Baratheon, but to meet you and help guide you and your sister to rule the Westeros lands once more," he said as Rhaenyra smiled. She agreed, wondering if there was a reason their Gods' fates worked mysteriously.

"Your Grace, I need to tell you something," Jaime told Robb who frowned and nodded. They quickly walked off after Robb wished his cousin luck and prayed he safely arrived in Essos, they were given a location of Daenerys' camp and were waiting for Jon to arrive with Raynor there too. Rhaenyra smiled and bid her nephew farewell and hoped Daenerys agreed.

Sansa had been laughing at a joke Bronn told which made her and their small group laugh as she noticed Lady becoming tenser. Tyrion spied the shift in her face as he also looked at her wolf. The she-wolf started to trot ahead and scout their dangers, Sansa became quiet and urged her horse to follow faster as some called for her to remain but they quickly trot after her too. Shae and Tyrion rode on a cart as Bronn rode ahead to keep up with Sansa. Shrieks made Tyrion freeze as Shae and the other girls fearfully looked around. Lady skidded to a halt, looking up and around baring her teeth at whatever enemy was nearby.

Blue flames came from the misty sky as it hit the ground nearby making Sansa shriek in fear, it was then she realized what her she-wolf heard. It was Rhaenyra's dragons, they had reached the camp as she could now hear other dragons join the hunt. A giant blue dragon landed with a sharp shriek while Lady growled, baring her fangs with a snarl-bark as Alysanne trilled excited about seeing another direwolf, she did not see it as a threat like the she-wolf saw the large she-dragon.

"Whoa!" Tyrion called out as the golden she-dragon lowered her giant head as she spied the Lannister man and women fearfully whimpered as Shae held onto Tyrion, staring at the green, cat-like eyes that lit up suddenly as the female looked ready to attack.

"Rhaenys! Daor!" Jaime's voice shouted as others joined.

"Kelītīs!" Rhaenyra shouted to her unridden dragon.

"Rhaenys, lykirī!" Baela joined in trying to calm the free she-dragon down. For whatever reason she seemed intent on attacking the small group which terrified them.

"Daor, Rhaenys!" Jaime shouted, getting in between the golden she-dragon and his younger brother, his daughter whistled and threw her whip at him as he caught it. Understanding what to do, Jaime snapped the whip twice as Rhaenys looked to him sharply before slowly looking back at the others. "Dokimarvose! Dohaerās, Rhaenys!" he shouted as Rhaenyra froze, her violet eyes flying to her dragon as the female paused, looking at Jaime, snarling as he paused before swallowing and snapped the whip another time and advanced as she backed, surprised at the human's actions.

Rhaenys looked at the human in confusion as she lowered her body from an attack as he stood in between her and Tyrion. Unaware of her mother's slightly horrified realization of what was happening but intrigued how this would play out. "Rȳbās," Jaime spoke sharply but calmly.

"Umbās," Robb's voice called as he joined. Having driven Alysanne and Rhaella off with the other men and Theon's help. Baela had to help Rhaenyra and her father control Rhaenys who had no rider and was free to do as she pleased, which did worry the others. Rhaenys seemed upset at everyone closing in on her and her mother noticed.

"Back away everyone," she ordered as her husband and friends eyed her before backing up as she requested, even she backed away, watching the interaction the entire time, knowing what was about to play out. Rhaenys seemed to turn her now calmer eyes on Jaime as she lowered herself some more as Tyrion watched in awe, Rhaenyra smiled softly as she watched. Jaime slowly offered his hand as the she-dragon growled softly while moving to accept Jaime's touch, she purred softly as she eyed him before pushing her nose against his body softly. Jaime, unsure looked at Rhaenyra, the young queen nodded. Jaime had been listening to his daughter while she bonds with Alysanne and the commands she gives out.

"Sōvēs," he ordered as Rhaenys shrieked and turned to have room to leap and fly off. Jaime gasped softly at what he just did while his daughter was grinning before laughing as she embraced him, happy he was unharmed. Something Jaime shared with her as he chuckled, while embracing her back.

"What the Seven Hells just happened?" The Hound asked, seeing a Lannister control a dragon, his bastard daughter the Hound understood, but her golden lion father? There was no way.

"I would like to know the answer myself," Robb spoke up while Rhaenyra smiled.

"It would seem Rhaenys chose her new rider," Rhaenyra revealed to her husband's confusion and other's hidden horror.

XLI

"It is not possible!" Catelyn cried out. She had turned to horror and fear at realizing Jaime now could use a dragon once he learned the right words.

"No one is more surprised as I am, Lady Sark, I can assure you of that," Jaime announced. He was stunned and did not know why he decided to chance the risk of being burned to death, but he worried for Tyrion. His baby brother and someone he cared for very dearly.

"How is it possible?" Robb asked his wife who shrugged and bounced Daenaera who whined softly, wanting to sleep but being stubborn.

"His grandmother through his mother was a Baratheon, I believe. It is also the fact that some dragons might choose a non-valyrian rider. Many believe the dragonseeds of the Dance so many centuries ago were not bastards of Targaryens but of other houses, some who had no appearance of a Valyrian child and some claim it takes the right heart of a person to attract the dragon's attention. Vhagar preferred riders who were brave, two of her four riders were younger than I am now when they claimed her. Visenya claimed her when she was a hatchling and Prince Baelon was known as 'The Brave' so those were traits all her riders had," Rhaenyra told her people while offering her now sated daughter to her husband who held her calmly. Rhaenyra did not seem threatened nor worried about Jaime claiming her dragon. She knew if they attempted to kill him, it would destroy her cousins and upset Rhaenys, a newly bonded dragon was dangerous and protective of her new bond, they'd have to tread carefully.

"We will need to have another saddle created," Baela revealed as Sansa came in with their new guests. Tyrion quickly came to his brother stunned at what he just watched.

"What was all that?" he asked as Jaime knelt to further explain and even he was confused and surprised. Rhaenyra embraced Sansa who held her before seeing the babies too but also was raving as she saw the dragons, stunned at seeing them. With the arrival of Sansa, Jaime and Rhaenys bonding was temporarily put to the backburner and now Rhaenyra needed to tell Arya the truth about their alliance with the Freys. And would deal with the offer about the Reach. She wished to deal with other things aside from her dragons right now, if she turned out to be pregnant again. Her twins were barely four months old. It terrified her if she was in fact pregnant once more. So, if Jaime was a dragon-rider, she would accept it to replace her once she is unable to ride in battle, he could. And like Baela, he could learn. He was a soldier and knew battle tactics unlike the girls, if anyone would excel in fighting, it could be him, Rhaenyra mused in her mind as she held Arya, thinking of how to explain the girl's betrothal to the twelve-year-old. She did not want to but knew the girl must be told. Arya looked so happy to have her family back together and wanted to head back to Winterfell soon. Originally, Arya had begged to go with Jon to see Essos but everyone said no instantly. Rhaenyra would tell Robb all this while also having Thoros examine her to confirm her suspicion.

End of the chapter!

I actually looked it up and it did say riders did not have to be of Valyrian descent. And how like all of Vhagar's riders were brave, either by mounting her, a war dragon or by going into battle such as Queen Visenya and Prince Baelon. Because I do have a crazy plan for Jaime, so please bare with me!

Please read and review!
