Mika and Bakugo had split when the tunnel went two different directions. She hoped the others were okay, and they would all make it out of this without any serious injuries. The smell of rusting metal hit her nose as she used her flashlight, searching for any clues. Something caught her eye at her feet, making her stop. A small red feather. "Hawks," she knelt down and picked it up, her eyes scanned around before she picked up her pace, moving down the tunnel.
At some point, she wasn't sure when, she started running. He had to be close. Here and there, small red feathers were laid upon the wet ground. She picked every single one she saw up. She turned off her flashlight as she saw light up ahead. Moonlight, she noticed the hue as she continued her way.
The sound of chains moving ahead made her run faster. She slid to a stop and swallowed. Hawks was chained, his arms outstretched as he rested against them in the middle of the room. His jacket was missing, and most of his shirt was ripped away. He put up a hell of a fight. Water dripped off of him, she looked up to see the sky above them through the iron grating. Mika took a breath of courage and slowly walked up to him, kneeling down, "Hawks."
His golden eyes fluttered opened, "There's my vixen in shining armor."
His voice was hoarse. Mika gently pushed his hair out of his face. She could see the bruising all over his body, his skin was ice cold, "Yeah, I'm here." She studied the chains, "I don't suppose they gave you a key?"
He chuckled and sucked in a breath, "I dropped it."
"Of course you did," she carefully looked at the locks on his bloodied wrists before pulling out the tool once more. The locks were rusted, meaning this might take a minute.
Hawks looked at the other tunnel, "Someone's coming."
"Good for them. I'm in a bad mood." She laid no mind, concentrating.
Bakugo walked into the moonlight and looked over the strung up hero, "You look like shit."
Hawks nodded, "I missed you too."
"Do you think you can blast these," Mika looked at him, "They're rusted."
Bakugo walked over and nodded, putting his palm up to the cuff, "You might get burned."
"Just add it to the list," Hawks closed his eyes and turned his head away. Mika took a few steps back and watched as Bakugo blasted one side, letting it fall with a hard clank. He moved and repeated on the other side before catching the other blonde hero.
Hawks groaned in pain and let out a breath, "I can't lift us outta here."
Mika then noticed. His right wing. "It's broken," she walked around him and looked it over. She looked at Bakugo, "We need to set it before we move him out of here."
"No, no," Hawks breathlessly said, "I'll be fine-"
Bakugo put his hand over Hawks' mouth, "Go ahead. I got him."
Mika thought for a moment and checked the pockets of the utility belt, smiling. Hallie thought of everything. She pulled out a thick, black strap, "You can be mad about it later."
She placed her hand gently at the base of his wing, right next to the break. Her eyes met Bakugo's, who nodded. She let out a breath and quickly set the bone. Hawks screamed into Bakugo's hands catching his breath. Mika quickly wrapped the break and tied the wing shut, holding it in place.
Bakugo looked up and thought for a moment, "I can blast that, but I'm sure we'll have company."
Mika nodded, "That's fine, I'll handle them. You get him out of here."
Bakugo held up his palm and fired off a large blast, blowing off the grate. He looked at Mika who nodded . She grabbed a chain and slung it upward, wrapping it around a leftover piece of metal, "I'll go first and clear the way."
"Mika-" Hawks started.
He held up her hand, "You're in enough trouble as it is." She climbed her way up the chain.
"Damn, already in the dog house," Hawks let out a long breath, trying to steady himself. Bakugo scoffed with a smirk. He had to admit, it was funny seeing someone not phased by Hawks antics.
As soon as Mika's feet hit the moist ground, she heard movement from the trees. She tapped the comm twice, "You can come up, but stay back while I clear the way."
Her hand reached down and grabbed the knife from the belt around her waist. She carefully slice both of her palms, allowing the red liquid to pour outward. The moonlight gave her some help in scouting the bodies closing in on her. A loud boom sounded, bringing Bakugo and Hawks to the surface behind her.
Mika shot forward as her thug opponents lunged at her. Two wakizashi formed in her hands as she began to mow through them quickly. Bakugo kept his eyes one her just incase she needed backup. Hawks smirked tiredly, "She works fast."
"Yeah, she's not bad." The blonde looked at him, "Are you okay?"
"Mentally, sure," Hawks took a deep breath, "physically, no."
"We'll get you patched up."
Mika spun to a stop and steadied herself. Where were they all coming from? She pulled the knife out and sliced her right palm slightly deeper, forming a scythe. It was using a lot of blood, but, this was faster as she used the range to take out multiple assailants.
"Don't let her use too much blood," Hawks closed his eyes, trying to keep himself steady as his arm rested over Bakugo's shoulders.
Bakugo's tapped his comm, "Who's still alive?" He smirked hearing the grumbles of their teammates. "Deku, I need you. Tokoyami, make the call for feds, Shoto, call medic."
In an instant Deku was by his side, wiping a scratch on his cheek, "What's up?"
"Take feather brain," he carefully handed him off to Deku, "We gotta finish this up."
Deku nodded while his friend went to work, "Let's get you back towards the road."
