Mika was lucky she was small. Hawks better consider himself lucky he was already in the hospital or she would put him there. She laid back against the cold floor while the detective and Hawks chatted. It sounded like he was leaving our details of his rescue and location. Maybe he's afraid of a mole, she thought as they continued.

"Dynamite, Deku, Shoto, Tokoyami, and who else?" The detective wrote on his notepad.

"That's it."

"Officers say a woman was brought here also."

"Oh yeah," Hawks couldn't help but smirk, "just some sidekick the agency is trying out. She's not a biggie, so I wouldn't bother."

Mika raised an eyebrow. That was the best he could come up with? The detective nodded and closed his notebook, "Thank you for going in the lions den, again. They owe you a raise."

Hawks laughed, "Pass it along for me."

Once it was clear, Mika removed herself from her hiding spot. Hawks had an amused look in his eyes. Mika huffed, "I'll just jump out of the window next time."

"He won't be back for a couple of days," he yawned, "Once he realizes I gave him the wrong address, he'll come back."

"Why did you give him the wrong information?"

"Because, there's always a mole," he closed his eyes, "Im ready to leave now."

"You have to stay another day or two, they told you this," Mika scolded, sitting on his bed.

"I don't care, I'm getting grouchy," he opened his eyes, "I don't like feeling stuck."

She sighed, "Hawks, you're in rough shape."

"Yeah but I have the best nurse."

She narrowed her eyes, "Mmmmmno."

He grinned, "Please. Im a good patient."

"Don't bold face lie to me," she scoffed, "you're literally pouting right now."

"Come onnnnn," he begged, "I promise I'll behave."

Mika rolled her eyes, "You are allergic to behaving."

A soft knock came from the door, making Hawks smile. His nurse smile and walked in, Mika knew she had lost this fight.

"I can't believe you did this," she set her bag down and glared at him, "You owe me big time you oversized toddler."

Hawks removed the sucker the nurse had given him from his mouth a smiled, "Has anyone ever told you how wonderful you are?"

"Can it," she crossed her arms, "Im not falling for your charm tactics."

He chuckled. She was cute when she was mad, but he couldn't stand that hospital anymore. Not to mention the risk of her being there. "Come lay down with me."

"No."

He smiled, "Yes. I know you're just as tired. You're just being stubborn." Her steel eyes met his golden, amused orbs. "I just wanna lay with you."

She looked away with a small blush and mumbled, "Fine."

"Take this," she handed him a pill from the bottle in her hand, "You'll be in pain when you wake up if not." She walked into the kitchen and got a glass of water, "Before you complain, they only give pills in that dosage," she walked back up to him, "So you'll have to put your big boy pants on."

He winked and took the pill no problem, "Yes ma'am." Her eyes narrowed at his coolness, suspicious of his behavior. He downed the glass, "Now, can we sleep?"

"Yes." She took the glass and placed it in his sink.

His head was laying on her chest as she took deep, even breaths. He couldn't lay back because of his broken wing, so, this was the most comfortable option. The sound of her heartbeat sounded in his ear as his eyes looked out of his darkened window. He needed to make a visit to someone soon, to see if they would help in his cause. Someone he hadn't seen in a while, time had kept them apart.

Mika's hand gently settled in his hair, "Go to sleep."

His eyes closed when she began petting him softly, "I'm working on it."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"I'm just replaying the last few weeks in my mind," he sat up on his elbows and looked at her, "I haven't gotten my ass handed to me like that in a while."

She looked at him, "Well it won't happen again."

"What you gonna protect me?"

"Yeah," she smirked, "I already saved your ass."

"Yeah don't rub it in," he teased and laid his head back down.

"No I will definitely be rubbing it in," she smiled to herself and resumed softly playing with his hair, "Especially now that I have to babysit you."

He chuckled and buried his face in her neck, "Whatever."

The next thing she knew, he was out. Mika rested her head against him and continued to play with his messy hair. It was ridiculous how soft it was, he didn't take care of it at all. Her eyes grew heavy from his warmth and even breathing. Soon, she was asleep.

Buzzing woke him. He wasn't sure what time, or frankly what day it was. He had been in a deep sleep, burrowed in Mika's hair. She stirred slightly, causing him to open his eyes to search for the annoying sound. His eyes narrowed, the burner phone he had given Mika was buzzing. He was the only one with that number.

Carefully reaching, he recognized the number and rolled his eyes, "Hallie."

"Hawks? I thought this was Mika's phone."

"It is," he sat up away from the sleeping woman, "what's up?"

"I came to check on you both, and you were gone," she scolded him on the other end.

Hawks smirked, "I didn't wanna be there anymore."

Hallie sighed, "Well, I have something for Mika, so where do I bring it to?"

"No gift for me? I'm hurt."

"Lies," Hallie chuckled.

"She's here with me, asleep," he glanced back at her sleeping form.

"Ooooh is it that serious," she teased.

Hawks felt his cheeks flush, "No."

Hallie laughed, "Text me when she's awake and I'll bring it over. The boys also wanna know when you want to meet."

"Hell let's just make it a party," he yawned.

"Go back to sleep Hawks." Hallie hung up.

The blonde hung up the phone and placed it back on the nightstand. He looked over the sleeping girl in his sheets. He leaned down and placed a kiss on her cheek and looked at the clock. They had been asleep almost ten hours. Her eyes fluttered open slowly as she gathered her surroundings. He watched her quietly as she sat up and ran a hand through her hair, her eyes settled on him, "Did your mouth stop working?"

"Just admiring the view," he ruffled her hair, "Hallie called. They're going to come over in a bit."

She retamed her hair and nodded, "Okay."

"Did you sleep okay?"

Mika smiled, "Yes. Did you?" She looked him over, "Are you in pain?"

He shook his head, "No I'm fine. I slept like a rock."

She looked at the clock, it was after lunch time. They had slept for a long while. "Do you want food?"

He smiled, "Please."

"What do you want?" She stood and stretched her stiff arms.

"You can't laugh," he huffed, "Chicken nuggets."

Mika blinked before breaking into a fit of giggles, "Hawks..."

"Listen they're my comfort food," his cheeks were red.

She composed herself and cleared her throat, "I will get you some nuggets." This was going to be a wild ride.
