Mika sat next to Hallie in the conference room, sipping another cup of warm coffee. Snow was making its way back into the area as the sun set. Hawks sat at the other end of the table, pulling up files. A small boy who looked like a copy and paste of Bakugo walked up to her and held out a piece of paper.
"I'm Tobi," his blue eyes looked at her.
Mika smiled, "Hello Tobi, my name is Mika. It's nice to meet you." She looked at the drawing, "Did you make this?" He shyly nodded with a blush on his cheeks, "You have a talent."
"Y-you can have it," he nervously looked away, making Mika chuckle.
"I will take it home with me and put it up so I can see it everyday."
Hallie laughed as her sons face turned red and he scurried away, "I think he's crushing."
Bakugo scoffed with a smirk, "Of course."
A man with spiky red hair walked through the doorway and grinned, "Well, I'm here now, who are we smashing?!"
Bakugo rolled his eyes, "Don't be loud. We got a few more to wait for."
The man's eyes settled on Mika, "Why hello, you can call me Kirishima."
Mika smiled, "Mika."
"Who's the babe," a man with blonde hair walked in, a smug grin on his face. Mika took note of the black streak on the side.
A woman with purple hair smacked the back of his head, walking in behind him, "Don't be a creep." She gave Mika an apologetic smile, "He's special."
Mika chuckled, watching Bakugo's patience wearing thin. A man named Sero joined them, followed by Tokoyami, and Shoto. The pink girl, Hallie's close friend, Mina made an appearance as well. She and Kirishima were the two who had gotten married recently. Shouta and Hizashi also joined in.
"Now that the gangs all here," Hawks smiled, "We got a lotta shit to cover." He tossed some photos in the table, "Rocky's" being one of them, "You are looking at the new League, there are four leaders...and over a dozen followers. All escaped during the war."
"Shit," the man named Denki looked over the photos.
"Precisely," Hawks sighed, "The small skirmish groups were a diversion from this one."
"Hence why there were punk kids," Bakugo was beginning to string it all together now.
Hallie noticed Rocky's photo and looked at Mika, who nodded. Hawks continued, "They had planned to attack UA...as a diversion."
"From what," Deku leaned back against the wall.
"They have some key players we've put away over the last few years..."
"They wanted to blow Maximum," Mika said, "They want to start another war."
"But why," Kirishima studied the pictures.
"There is money in war...we know that," Hallie sighed, "They picked the perfect time."
"Yeah, no Commission, or big slum lords left," Bakugo tapped his finger on the table, "We need to keep under the radar."
"Agreed," Hawks looked at Mika, "And be cautious."
"Meaning no solo work," she slyly shot back.
Hallie couldn't help but smirk, "But, we also have to keep digging and figure out what's next."
"It can't be Hawks," Tokoyami chimed in, "they've already captured him."
Mika looked at Bakugo. Hawks watched Mika closely. Hallie noticed the exchanges and decided to speak, "Mika," she held up the photo of Rocky, "Do you know this man?"
"I do," Mika looked at her, "Well, who he is pretending to be."
"How do you know him," Bakugo leaned forward on the table.
"He supposedly owns the coffee shop near my apartment. I've been going there for three years. Recently he asked if I wanted to help count stock a few evenings a week."
Hallie looked at him, "He's a vital tool."
Hawks kept his eyes on Mika, suspiciously staying silent. The room was quiet as the heroes pondered. Hallie knew she could do it, but, looking at Hawks she didn't want to push the idea, merely open up the discussion.
Bakugo leaned back in his seat, "When do you go out there next?"
"Tomorrow night," she broke her gaze from Hawks to him.
Mina tapped her chin, "Sending you alone would be dangerous."
"Well the big three are out of the question," Mika ran a hand through her hair, "And Hawks."
"I'll go," Mina smiled, "we can say I've just come in for a surprise visit."
Aizawa finally spoke up, "I can be close by, keeping an eye on things."
"I can place a mic in your collar," Hallie looked her over, "But the real question is are you willing to do this?"
"You would be doubling," Shoto crossed his arms.
"If that backfired..." Present Mic trailed off.
Mika nodded, "I'm aware, but, what other choice do we have?" She tapped nails on her forearm, "We need to keep up the illusion that we haven't gotten any of this information."
"I can cover at the studio," Jiro looked to Mic, "Just incase Aizawa needs backup."
Hallie stood, "Mika, come with me, I have something for you."
Hallie rubbed her growing belly as she led her down the winding hallway in the agency, "You and Hawks already argued over this, didn't you?"
"Yeah..." she sighed, "I get he's worried, but, I'm also good at what I do."
"This is new to him," Hallie chuckled, "he's not used to being so attached to someone."
Mika blinked, "He's the heartthrob of hero society."
"Maybe so," Hallie opened a locker and grabbed a briefcase, "but he's never had a relationship before. Well, not in the seven years I've known him." She looked at the other woman, "Hawks is afraid to get close to people."
"He's not the only one," she rubbed the back of her neck.
"Give him some patience while he processes all of this," Hallie held out the briefcase and smiled, "he cares a lot for you, so I know he's worried sick."
"She'll be fine," Bakugo ruffled Hawks' hair as he passed, going towards the door. The others besides Kirishima, Mic ,and Aizawa had left, planning to keep in contact.
"Yeah, yeah," Hawks sighed, "I don't like this."
"I'll make sure she's okay," Aizawa was surprised at how Hawks was behaving, his usual carefree demeanor was absent, replaced with annoyed concern.
"Why don't I go to, just incase," Kirishima stretched his arms, "That way if anything happens, we can bust in."
Bakugo nudged his shoulder, heading out of the door, "Don't be too loud and give them away."
Kirishima followed his friend down the hallway, whining about not being loud. Aizawa and Mic followed, leaving Hawks to himself. His golden eyes landed on Tobi, who peeped his head in the door.
"Uncle Hawks."
"Yeah kid," the hero stood and walked up to him.
"Where's that lady?"
"Mika? She's with your mom, why?"
Tobi blushed, "No reason."
Mika rounded the corner with the briefcase, "Tobi, there you are, your mother is looking for you."
The boy spun around, "Oh..."
Hawks couldn't help but smirk. Little guy seemed to have it bad...he couldn't blame him, he did too. She knelt down, "It was nice to meet you today. Thank you again for the picture."
He held out a small note, "I made something else for you. But, you can't open it until later, promise?"
Mika nodded, taking the folded note, "I promise."
"Tobi," Bakugo leaned on the wall, "enough flirting, let's go home."
"I wasn't flirting," Tobi whined and took off to his father.
"What's in the case," Hawks looked at it as they made their way through the falling snow.
"A suit," Mika glanced at him, "Hallie had it made. Surprisingly it fit."
He stopped walking, "Mika."
"Hm?" She turned and faced him.
"I just...have a bad feeling about this."
Mika walked up to him, "I do too, but, isn't this what heroes do?"
He rolled his eyes, "I hate it when you do that."
She smirked, "When I back you into a corner?"
He scoffed with a half smile, "Yes."
"That's because I'm beating you at your own game," she leaned up and pecked his lips before turning and continuing her way. He let out a breath and followed.
