Hallie took one look at Mika and hugged her tightly, "We'll make sure he's okay, I promise."
"I know," Mika smiled as she hugged her friend, "This suit is wonderful...you should design more."
Hallie released her and let out a breath, "We brought you some fun things."
Bakugo handed her a small beacon, "This will tell us where you are..."
She held it in her hand. It was so small, "It's cute."
He rolled his eyes, "Also," he handed her a few of the iron pills Hallie had brought her before, "Hide these. That way when you do your thing, you're gassed up."
She nodded and took them from him, "You won't hear from me until it's time...however long that is."
"Don't let them kill you," Bakugo warned, "If you take too long we're coming for you."
She smiled slightly, "You're a good man, Bakugo."
He huffed and looked away, a slight blush on his cheeks. Hallie grinned and winked, "Be safe, I need help with baby things when you get back."
Mika winked and turned, heading down the alley. Bakugo took Hallie's hand and gave it a squeeze, "She can do this."
Mika pulled the crimson hood over her head, as the cold wind hit her ears. She was heading to the hot bed of recent activity, right where her apartment was. She hoped they would be smart and take the bait.
She looked over from the rooftop and breathed deeply. This was nice. The city looked beautiful at night. If she survived this, night patrols would be her favorite. Her mind wandered to Hawks. She hoped he was okay. She scoffed with a sad smile, "That bastard got out of our date after all..."
Jumping down, she casually made her way through a darkened alley, stopping midway, "You'll have to do better than that."
A bulky man walked out of the shadows, "Tough words for someone so small."
Her grey eyes met his pink orbs, "Tough words coming from a man hiding in the shadows."
He grinned and lunged at her, "I'll show you tough."
Mika smirked and dodged him, rolling to the side. She used the small blade in the wrist on her suit and sliced her palm, creating a solid bat. He turned as she swung it, landing a hit to his knees. She watched as his skin hardened like diamonds, shattering her bat. Fuck, she thought as he landed a harsh hit, sending her back into a brick wall. She winced feeling it give in.
Hawks paced back and forth on a rooftop. Part of him wanted to ruin her entire plan, swooping in and saving her. The other wanted to beat the hell out of the others for supporting this suicide mission. He felt so torn, he didn't really understand why either. She was just a girl, there were plenty of them. Many who wanted him. His eyes snapped to a figure casually standing behind him.
"Relax," Aizawa sighed, "it's just me."
"What are you doing here?"
The dark haired man shrugged, "The same thing you are. Deciding on what to do with myself."
"I'm assuming they told you," the blonde sat down, letting his feet hand off of the building.
"Yeah," he stood beside Hawks. "I feel torn. Part of me is angry, the other is proud."
"I know what you mean," his sad eyes watched the citizens below, "I envy them..."
"Me too," Aizawa sat down.
"They don't deserve her," he snapped, "the sacrifice."
"Hawks," he gave the heroes shoulder a squeeze, "you know she loves you, right?"
"Why are you telling me this," his eyes narrowed, looking at him. "It doesn't matter."
"I'm telling you, so you can try to understand." He sighed, "And when the time comes, you'll make the right decision."
"I already made up my mind," his face was solemn, "I told her what was going to happen if she did this. She accepted that."
Her grey eyes opened and groggily scanned around the room. Her head was pounding, and her body screamed as she rolled onto her stomach. She rested her cheek on the dirt floor, gathering her bearings. A barn, she thought. Her eyes settled on the shackles around her wrists, and the chains they were attacked to. The sun peered through the dusty window as she forced herself upright, the pain in her bruised spine making her groan.
"Ah, sleeping beauty decided to wake up," a man with blonde hair leaned around the corner, his hazel green eyes looking her over, "Diesel did a number on you."
Mika managed to lean back against the wall and close her eyes, "Something like that."
"You can call me Sting," he casually waltzed up to her, "I will be your torture guide for this adventure."
She scoffed and smiled, "Oh wonderful, I can't wait."
Sting chuckled, "I like you. You got spunk."
She eyed him dangerously, "Come any closer and I'll show you spunk."
He gave a low whistle, "Not yet baby, gotta wait for thebig wig to get here. Rest up for now, I want you at your best."
She watched him disappear back around the corner and let out a long breath, laying her head back against the dusty wood. They would probably move her once their boss got here. The sun felt nice against her skin, giving her some warmth. She hoped the others were holding up to their end of the deal and staying out of the way. If their enemy caught wind of this, it would be disastrous.
Her eyes grew heavy in the silence around her. The soft sounds of birds outside pulled her into a light, sleepless slumber, her mind craving the warmth of someone who wasn't there.
