Time was no longer a construct for her. Days or nights were no longer in existence. They had taken so much blood, even though her quirk had melded with Project Sunshine, they were pulling from her to test on others. They had graduated from test tubes to live subjects, often multiple times a day. Lena, she had come to learn the woman's name, was always so soft and gentle when she visited Mika, which was becoming more often. Praising her on being the key to their success. She currently sat on a bed beside her, wiping her face with a cool cloth.
"You've been here for two months now, little bird," she smiled down at Mika, "I'm in debt for your suffering for so long."
Mika watched her with dull eyes. Her bare arms were bruised from constant IV insertions and the drawing of her blood. Her hair had gained a few white streaks after the Sunshine quirk melded with her body. She felt so tired, and weak. They tried to feed her, but she refused. They resorted to pumping her with liquids through the tubes connected to her wrists.
"I wish you would consider joining me," Lena's lava eyes gave her sad expression, "I find you so beautiful, and strong...having you by my side would be comforting."
"You have Sting for that," Mika's raspy voice replied.
"Men are only good for sex and following orders," she sighed, "We both know that by now." She tilted her head, "Do you ever think of him?"
"Every single day," Mika swallowed. She had told Lena once about being in love before her capture. Not who, but about their relationship, and how she felt. "But, people move on."
"I could always give you Sting," Lena smirked, "he's a good lover. So attentive and kind. I'm sure he would love the chance to have you."
"No thank you," her grey eyes looked out of the darkened window.
"Or I could just keep you for myself," Lena traced Mika's jawline softly, "I would never abandon you, Mikasa."
"Everyone betrays everyone in the end," she smirked, "I'm not an idiot. You will kill me in the, Lena."
Lena leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, "While I won't hesitate, it's not my desire."
"I'll think on that," she closed her eyes, feeling another wave of exhaustion hit her.
Mike opened her eyes as a warm sensation swept over her body. The young man smiled, "Ms. Lena has asked me to come by and give you some vitamins."
She said nothing, turning her head away. The boy sighed softly as he worked. Haiku was his name, he was Hitoshi's assistant. He always tried making conversation, of course he was always failing. He cleared his throat, "You were out for a few days this time. I was afraid you were going to miss it."
"Miss what," she turned to look at him.
"Tomorrow is the day," he smiled, "Ms. Lena has given everyone your blood, and it's proved to be a success."
She scoffed, "Sounds like a shitty party."
Haiku chuckled, "I know you hate us-"
"Loath," she looked him over, "I loath you, all of you. I'm just waiting to die at this point."
"I...don't want you to die," Haiku softly said.
"What does it matter?"
"Your life matters," he frowned.
"To who," she glared, "Certainly not anyone who would use someone like this."
"Not everyone has a choice," he swallowed and looked away before standing up, "Ms. Lena is coming by later to see you."
He closed the door and she let out a sigh of relief, looking around the barren room. She had been here since her second day, only leaving for tests. Lena had given her a few clothing items, she also allowed her to keep her suit. Mika slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes. She could feel the vitamins giving her energy, as she slowly stood, walking to the closet.
Her eyes landed on the crimson suit before she paused, she needed two things, the pills and the beacon. She had hidden them on the inside of the suit before her capture. It was dumb luck she still had them. The red feather caught her eye, "...Just incase..."
Her bruised hand grabbed it, walking back to her bed and placing them in her pillowcase. When she walked back to the closet, a soft knock came from the door. Mika sighed, "What?"
Lena walked in, shutting it behind her, "I see the vitamins are working."
Mika turned away from her, as if she was reaching for some clothing. Soft hands wound around her waist, Lena's breath was warm against her ear, "I was almost worried you weren't going to wake up."
"I was trying not to," she softly snapped.
"You wound me, Mika," her breath was hot against her neck, making Mika swallow. "As soon as I caught wind you had awoken, I wanted to come check on you."
"I see," she opened her eyes, keeping her voice monotone.
"You are staying with me tonight," the woman's hands wound up her shoulders, "if you accept that is."
"Why would I do that," she turned, face to face with her enemy.
"Because, we are both lonely these days," Lena sighed and backed away, "I won't force you."
"Where is your toy," Mika turned around and grabbed clothing.
"Running errands."
"I see," she grabbed the softest crimson sweater they had given her, and some leggings. She didn't want to wear what they gave her, but, her body was so sensitive and sore, she needed something that felt soft against her.
"I haven't taken your blood yet," Lena laid back onto her bed, dressed in her usual business suit, "I wanted to get it from the source."
A plan began to form in Mika's foggy mind, "What do you mean?"
"I wanted to make it special," the woman smiled to herself, "I wanted you to give yourself to me, willingly."
"You're sick," Mika snapped, pulling her shirt over her head.
"I'm aware," Lena's eyes raked over her form, "I hoped you would at least consider it." Lena stood and walked to the door, "I'll leave you to think on it."
The door closed shut once more. Mika stood in the room for a moment, thinking of her plan before walking to the bathroom, turning on the shower.
