Chapter 10.

Seven weeks have passed since the interrogation. Olivia and Dominick talked privately about what had happened to them. Not every day, but regularly. They tried to be there for each other. They helped each other through the process. Both did everything in their power to keep a low profile at the job. At work, they were Captain and Ada. And nothing else.

But today she clung to the trash can as she sat back in her chair and slumped forward. It was the second time she had been sick today, but this time she was more embarrassed. It wasn't a big deal at home, but here she was always being watched by her nosy detectives.

Olivia let out a soft sigh and stood up. She walked to the bathroom. After brushing her teeth and washing her face, Olivia returned to her office. Sitting on the edge of her desk was her most annoying blonde detective. She looked incredibly worried, and Olivia was afraid that she had overheard the moment she got sick.

"Liv, are you okay?" Amanda asked as she searched Olivia's face with worried blue eyes.

"I'm not going to lie to you, Amanda. I just got sick for the second time today and I still feel so nauseous," Olivia admitted weakly. Amanda tilted her head to the side as she examined Olivia, as if looking for a clue as to why Olivia was sick.

"Um, do you think you might be... pregnant?" Amanda inquired in a whisper. Olivia laughed softly as she walked over to her desk. She sank into her chair as Amanda turned to look at her serious.

"Rollins, I'm too old to be pregnant. Noah probably gave me a stomach bug," Olivia sighed.

"Liv, you look... fuller, I guess? Are you sure you're not pregnant?" Amanda asked gently this time, trying to push a little harder.

Olivia exhaled. This can't be true. Guilt began to gnaw at her. She knew what had happened and who it had happened with but Amanda didn't.

"I was drugged, Amanda. I think we were too out of it to grab a condom and try to get him to put it on."

"You didn't tell me you were drugged, Olivia!" Amanda exclaimed.

"Yeah, well, things are messy right now," Olivia took a breath, leaving out the fact that she knew who had hurt her and Dominick. Or that Dominick was the person she had slept with.

"Do you have any idea why someone would do this to you?" Amanda questioned in disbelief.

"Maybe revenge, maybe jealousy," Olivia whispered. She knew now why Dani did what she did. Soon everyone else would, too.

"Revenge? What kind of person would do that to you? Do you know who this guy is yet?" Amanda inquired.

Olivia suddenly felt overwhelmed. She covered her face with her hands and began to cry. So much had happened lately that she didn't know what to do. She didn't know if she should be honest with Amanda and tell her exactly what had happened...but if she did, she would ruin their friendship. Amanda would know that Dominick was the other party in this.

Seeing her friend cry, Amanda walked around Olivia's desk and gently squeezed her shoulder.

"Why don't we make an appointment with your doctor? I'll even go with you. It's going to be scary and I don't want you to be alone," Amanda said with a gentle smile.

Olivia sniffed as she continued to think. What kind of friend doesn't tell her best friend the truth? No matter what happened today, Olivia would have to talk to Dominick in private if Amanda was right. If she was pregnant once in her life, she never expected to be pregnant now.

"Liv, please make an appointment. I promise to come." Amanda smiled softly.

Olivia nodded slowly as guilt still gnawed at her. After what she did to Amanda, this is the least Olivia could do for Amanda.

Olivia sat and filled out paperwork as Amanda sat next to her. There had been an opening, so Olivia came in during her lunch break.

Olivia sighed to herself as she filled out her date of birth. She didn't want to believe it was true. That she could actually be pregnant. All her life she had wanted to be a mother. Noah, her sweet little boy, made her a mother. She wasn't planning on adopting another child, let alone carrying one. Now she may be pregnant, and she doesn't have a partner. Her relationship with Elliot had fallen apart, all thanks to Dani.

After Olivia finished her paperwork, she handed it in and then sat down next to Amanda. They sat for a while before a nurse opened the door and walked in. She read through her clipboard before speaking to them.

"Olivia Benson?" She asked. Olivia took a shaky breath, trying to calm herself before standing up. Amanda followed.

"I'm Olivia," she whispered softly. The nurse smiled and stepped out of the way.

"Follow me back."

The nurse took Olivia's vital signs before going to get the doctor. Olivia sat on the edge of the table as Amanda sent a text message to Dominick. Olivia glanced over and caught a glimpse of the texts, but she couldn't bring herself to snoop any further.

There was a knock on the door as it opened and Olivia saw Dr. Moore. She was an older woman who had been Olivia's doctor for some time. Olivia had felt most comfortable with her after Lewis had attacked her.

"Olivia, it's so good to see you. How are you?" Dr. Moore asked with a gentle smile.

"I think I might be pregnant," Olivia blurted out. Dr. Moore's eyes went wide as Amanda reached out and gently rubbed Olivia's arm.

"Olivia, you are well past your prime childbearing years. So I think this is probably menopause," Dr. Moore furrowed her brow. She hated to break the news to Olivia, but she had to be honest.

"I'm showing signs, Dr. Moore. Vomiting, headaches, pain... And my friend thinks I'm pregnant," Olivia glared as she turned to look at Amanda.

Amanda had a smile on her face before telling Dr. Moore about the differences she had noticed in her friend.

"Olivia has been acting different. She cries a little more than usual. She has been getting sick and losing weight. I've only seen her get sick once. But she says it happens occasionally. As for the crying, it's not like her. When she cries, she locks herself in her office instead of crying out in the open," said Amanda.

Olivia glanced at her friend before rolling her eyes. She turned back to Dr. Moore.

"Okay, we will do a urine test. If it comes back positive, we can do a blood test and then maybe an ultrasound. Okay?"

"That sounds good...thanks," Olivia mumbled.
