Chapter 12.

Olivia had trouble sleeping today. She rolled around in bed for a while and could not sleep. In the morning, she finished Noah for school, but she was unable to eat anything.

Before deciding to go out, Olivia sat in her car and took several deep breaths. Fortunately, she wasn't nearly as sick as she had been the night before.

She dreaded the conversation, despite the fact that their relationship had developed over the past few weeks.

Olivia went to Dominick's office. She paced back and forth in the hallway outside his office for a few minutes. Her heart pounded in her chest. She took a deep breath of air. All she could think about was that she couldn't keep this pregnancy a secret much longer.

"Um, Olivia?" Dominick asked. He had looked out the window in his door and seen Olivia pacing, so he decided to check on her. He could tell that something was troubling her.

"Dominick," Olivia gasped. The color had drained from her face and she had a look of fear on her face. Dominick looked at her and frowned as he noticed that she had lost weight and her body was shaking.

"Are you okay?" Dominick's concern was evident in his voice. Olivia shook her head before pointing behind him.

"Can we talk in private?" She croaked out. Dominick nodded before stepping back and letting Olivia into his office. As Dominick closed the door, he had flashbacks to the day Olivia had come to his office to question him about the night of the party.

He didn't have long to think because Olivia threw herself at him, clinging to him as she sobbed.

"Hey! It's okay, Liv. Whatever's going on, I'm gonna help you deal with it, okay?" Dominick cooed as he rested his cheek against Olivia's hair, holding her close.

"I'm..." Olivia sobbed out the rest of the statement, but Dominick had no idea what she had said.

"I couldn't hear you, sweetie. What's wrong? Are you sick or-"

"I'm pregnant!" Olivia exclaimed before she started to cry again.
Dominick's eyes went wide as he continued to hold Olivia. She was a complete mess while Dominick was in shock.

"Did I hear you right?" Dominick exhaled as he shook his head. He was sure he had misunderstood Olivia. She couldn't be pregnant. Could she? Maybe she had said she was in pre-menopause. He just had to convince himself that she had said that.

"I'm pregnant, Dom..." Olivia trailed off. She pushed herself away from Dominick. She wiped tears from her cheeks as she forced herself to look at Dominick.

He stared at her as his body began to shake. He felt like his legs were going to give out on him. Olivia noticed and reached out to steady him.

Obviously he had heard her the first time, but he didn't want to believe it. The woman who had complained about her age was now talking about the fact that she was pregnant. Pregnant with his child, since she and Elliot had been taking things a little slow.

"D-did you get it confirmed?" He asked as Olivia gently reached out and rubbed a tear from his cheek.

"Yes, I did. Amanda convinced me to go because I wasn't feeling well at all... My doctor did the test and an ultrasound confirmed it... Congratulations, Dom. I think you must have some magic sperm or something because of all the men I have had sex with, you was the first and only one who knocked me up!" Olivia yelled as she grew angry. Her emotions were all over the place and she didn't know how to control them.

Olivia reached into her purse and pulled out the sonogram. She handed it to Dominick before sinking down on the leather sofa and letting out a huff.

"I didn't mean to upset you, Liv... I just didn't know what to say. I thought you took all the pills the hospital gave you?"

"Of course I took all those stupid pills, Dominick! Maybe the birth control pill just didn't mix well with the drugs. I don't know why, I just know it didn't work and now your kid is giving me hell!" Olivia spat.

"Liv-" Dominick started, but he stopped and just looked down at the glossy picture in his hand. He had no idea how he would feel when he saw his child for the first time.

"There really is a baby in there," Dominick said as he walked over to where Olivia was sitting. He sank down beside her before reaching out and gently stroking her leg.

"How long have you known about the baby?" Dominick demanded. He was worried that Olivia had known for a while and had just gotten up the nerve to tell him.

"Twenty-four hours. It was a big surprise...I just thought Noah gave me something or the stress was getting to me." Olivia replied, taking a deep breath. "I meant to call you, but I forgot. Elliot came over and brought us food, and then I got super sick from the smell..." Olivia trailed off. She had rambled on long enough and her cheeks were flushed.

"Are you going to stick around?" Olivia asked.

"I'm here to support you no matter what, Liv. If you want the baby, I'll raise it with you. If not, I'll go to the appointment or sign the adoption papers."

Olivia looked at him, searching his face. She needed to see if he was being honest with her or just leading her on. Like she'd be super pregnant and then he'd change his mind and she'd be alone.

Dominick nodded weakly as Olivia began to speak again.

"This is all just too much for me right now. I cried myself to sleep last night. I haven't done that in a long time. My emotions are all over the place. I don't know how to handle Noah, the crew...and my own mental health. I'm exhausted." Olivia sighed as she ran a hand over her face.

Dominick looked over at Olivia and noticed things he hadn't seen before. She had almost no color in her face and her body was much thinner. He hated to see her so weak because of his baby.

He watched her for a few more moments before blushing. He noticed one of the few places she wasn't thin. Her chest was very prominent and he had to force himself to stop staring.

Sitting here beside her, he realized how attracted he was to her. He wanted to take care of her, but only if she let him. He knew Olivia wanted to take care of herself and be a tough single parent, but Dominick had to be part of the equation. Olivia and their unborn child was now his responsibility. The most important one he had.

"I can see clearly that our... little bean... is giving you hell."

Olivia nodded weakly as a tear slipped down her cheek. She wiped it away before nodding.

"It's been a rough couple of weeks, Dominick. I thought I was just sick. I didn't think my stomach problems could have been morning sickness... Instead, it turned out to be a baby," Olivia breathed out. She smiled softly at the thought of her child, but it faded when she remembered how chaotic everything had been around that child.

"I'll be there for you, Olivia," Dominick spoke.

"You don't-" Olivia began, but Dominick stopped her.

"I'm not giving you a choice here, Liv. You're experiencing a high-risk pregnancy. I'm not going to let you go through this alone. You can do all the complaining you want, but I will be there every step of the way. All three of you need me." Dominick replied with a gentle smile. Dominick was going to stick to his guns and be there for Olivia, Noah and the baby.

Olivia was almost offended because he was telling her what to do and she hated that. She opened her mouth to scold him, but he stopped her as he grabbed her hands. He squeezed her hands gently before smiling at her.

"I'm sorry, but you can't push me away. We're in this together. I'm going to take care of you, even if you don't like it. You're too skinny, so I'm going to cook you the best meals to make sure you and the baby gain weight. You might even be forced to take a nap once in a while," Dominick grinned.

Olivia sighed softly but nodded in agreement. The next few months were going to be a roller coaster.
