These were my two entries for the A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words Holiday (micro) Edition3 (2022). The limit for this was 50 words. Since they are so small, I am posting them together. You can see the related pictures on which they were based on the A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words FB group.

Entry 1: Mistletoe Kisses

This entry received the Candy Cane (sweet) award, the Kissing Ball (first kiss) award, and the Sleigh Ride (first date/meet cute) award. I didn't included names, but this is Edward/Bella.

His lips touch mine and everything feels complete. The one I've been searching for was here all along.

He pulls away, smiles and points up.

"Mistletoe. But that's just an excuse. I've wanted to kiss you for a long time."

"Wow. Let's do it again," I say and lean in.

Entry 2: A Christmas Promise

This entry received the Blue Christmas (bittersweet) award and was selected as the favorite of judge drivingedward.

Alice places the last ornament and steps back, admiring her creation standing tall in the woods.

This has been her Christmas ritual for the past five years. Always alone. Always lonely. Waiting for her someday.

She whispers her prayer, a promise, "Merry Christmas, Jasper. I can't wait to meet you."
