Chapter 24.
Olivia and Noah walked hand-in-hand together after their time with Calvin. Noah couldn't stop talking about the boy that he kept insisted was still kinda his brother. The way he spoke made Olivia smile.
It was starting to get dark out as they turned away from the bodega and headed home. As they made a turn, Olivia glanced over her shoulder and noticed that a group of young men were following her.
"Noah, stay close," Olivia spoke, as she grasped her son's hand even tighter.
"Why?" He questioned, looking up at her. He saw fear in his mother's eyes, as she tried to think if she could pick up Noah and run home.
"Just-"
"Yo, bitch!" One man yelled. Olivia felt her shoulder grasped from behind, and she was turned around quickly.
"Let me-" Olivia didn't even get the words out before he had pulled his fist back and punched her in the eye.
Olivia gasped as she pushed her son behind her body.
"Back up," Olivia ordered, as she tried to keep her voice even.
"Oh, so scary," The man laughed with his group. Olivia pushed Noah towards the building behind her and spoke under her breath.
"Go in that building and call the cops, Noah. Take my phone from my back pocket. Call 911," Olivia ordered.
"Mom, you're a cop," Noah whispered.
"I need backup. Please, go before they notice," Olivia ordered.
The last thing Olivia wanted to do was be alone in the situation. She didn't want Noah or her unborn baby to be harmed by a bunch of assholes who think it's fun to attack them.

By the time the sirens of the cop cars got closer, the men that had attacked Olivia ran off. She had kept them away for long enough, and was beyond thankful that her son had listened to her and called backup.
"What the hell happened?" Fin demanded, as he sped walked from his SUV and to where Olivia stood. She turned to him, her hand covering the part of her eye and cheek that ached from the punch.
"Noah and I got followed on our way home… some punks came after us and punched me. Noah called 911, and I'm assuming you heard him say my name over the radio and came to check up on us," Olivia sighed, her hand still in place.
"Move your hand," Fin spoke, as he reached out and gently grabbed her arm. Olivia hesitantly let her hand drop, and Fin frowned when he saw her eye starting to swell slightly and turn an angry red.
"I think you should get in the ambulance and go to the hospital. Get checked out."
"I'm not hurt, Fin," Olivia groaned.
"I don't care, Liv. I'll take Noah home with me and watch him. Just go to the hospital and get checked out."
"Are you giving me a choice?" Olivia grumbled.
"No, I'm not," Fin smiled.
Olivia shook her head and sighed.
"Have an officer drop you and Noah at my place or yours. I'm not taking an ambulance to the hospital for a black eye. Give me your keys," Olivia ordered, holding her hand out.
"Fine, but call Dominick. He should-"
"Nope! I'm not calling him over a black eye! He will freak out and be all sweet and wait on me hand-and-foot. I'm fine without him," Olivia sighed. She looked at where Noah still stood and gave him a gentle smile and a small wave.

An officer dropped Fin and Noah off at Olivia's apartment. Fin stood in the living room and dialed Dominick's number. Even if Olivia was stubborn and didn't want him there, he would not let Dominick be in the dark about what had happened tonight.
"Yes?" Sonny yawned into the phone.
"Hey, it's Fin. Just wanted to tell you that Olivia is in the hospital," Fin spoke, as he sank down onto Olivia's sofa.
"What?!" Sonny asked, becoming more alert.
"Hey, relax. She just got punched this evening. She just has a black eye, but I sent her to get checked out. Maybe have them monitor the alien," Fin replied. He almost smiled when he heard the concern that Carisi had for Olivia. She finally had someone that actually cares about her.
"Shit! I gotta get to her! Where is she?" Sonny demanded. Fin heard a loud thump from the other side of the phone.
"Are you okay?"
"I got twisted in my blankets and fell, I'm fine. Now, details. Fin, I need to get to her ASAP."
Fin gave Carisi the details before ending the call. He closed his eyes and let out a soft sigh.

Olivia sat on a bed in the ER. She had been monitored for almost an hour, and her cheek was examined by a doctor. There didn't appear to be any damage to her eye and cheek. Her bone was intact and not fractured.
The baby was doing fine, just like Olivia. The stress of the situation was one of the things the doctor was worried about, but during the monitoring, they realized that both would be fine.
"Alright, Captain. Even if you feel fine, take it easy. Get lots of rest and make sure you eat plenty and drink lots. We will fax the hospital report to your doctor's office and Dr. Moore can monitor you from here on," A nurse smiled, as she unhooked Olivia from a monitor.
"Thanks," She replied plainly. The moment she climbed off the bed, she heard someone demanding to see her. Olivia opened the curtain and saw Sonny standing at the front desk.
"Sonny, I'm over here," Olivia called. he turned quickly to see her, before jogging to her side. He placed his hands to her waist and looked at the bruise.
"What the hell happened?!"
Olivia felt her breathing hitch. She was not used to being this close to Dominick, and she almost felt flustered.
"I got punched by a jerk. But I'm fine. We are fine," Olivia stuttered. She felt one of Sonny's hands slip from her waist and moved to her belly. He ran a thumb over where she was bloated, before locking eyes with her.
"You scared me, Liv!" He exclaimed.
"Sir, she's fine. Just make sure she uses this too," The nurse smiled, as she passed Dominick a reusable ice pack for Olivia's eye. He took it, and sighed softly.
"I was scared," Sonny whimpered, as tears burned his eyes. Olivia moved his hands to her chest and gently caressed it.
"We are fine. I promise," she whispered.
There was a tender moment between them, but Olivia stopped it and stepped back.
"Damn it, Liv. You're going to have a big bruise," he said worriedly.
"It makes me look tough, right?" Olivia said with a weak smile.
"Totally… C'mon, let's get you home."
