Chapter 40.

It was few days after the last trial. Olivia and Dominick could

hardly believe their eyes. Despite what had been agreed upon, Amanda

and Cragen were standing before them.

Amanda smiles and says, "Did you honestly believe we wouldn't come here?"

"I thought you would actually listen to me for once." She was in a Captain's mood.

Don let out a small chuckle. "Sorry, kid. We really wanted to be here."

He gently placed his hand on her shoulder, and she let out a sigh. The topic was weighing heavily on her mind, even if Olivia didn't want to acknowledge it.

Having her friends by her side provided some comfort for Olivia.

Slowly, everyone comes together and sits down on the bench. Olivia sits in the middle between Amanda and Dominick, then there is Elliot, next to him sits Cragen.

Everyone looks straight ahead and sees the judge walk in. He looked around the courtroom and then sat down.

The tension in the room was palpable.

Babar found himself sitting next to Dani and glanced at Olivia for a moment before her expression changed to one of disappointment. He took a deep breath and tried to gather his thoughts. It dawned on him that he might have crossed the line with her, leaving him with an uncomfortable feeling inside. As someone whose role was to protect others, provoking Olivia in this way wasn't what he had intended or wanted. After running his hand over his face, as if to clear the tension from his mind, he met her gaze again and noticed that she had shifted her attention to the Judge.

The judge asked the jurors about their decision. One of them stated firmly, "We have unanimously found her guilty on all counts. The jury's eyes were fixed on Dani as they made this statement.

The judge, maintaining an impartial and calm demeanor, thanked the jury for their careful consideration of the evidence.

The guilty defendant stood up, expressing their anger by vehemently denying their guilt. "No! I am not guilty."

"You're being charged with two counts of assault, one for assaulting a police officer, and two counts of drugging the victims. For this action you are to be taken into custody for 7 years with the chance of parole and you will be fined to be paid to the victims and their families. Officer you may take the prisoner into custody"

With a heavy heart, she looked to Captain Cragen for reassurance as the guards led her away. To her dismay, his expression revealed only contempt and disappointment, crushing any hope she had left at that moment. He shook his head disapprovingly.

Olivia and Dominick leave the courtroom, taking a deep breath and feeling relieved. It's as if a huge weight has been lifted from their shoulders, marking the end of this ordeal and giving them a chance to start over. Dominick hugs Olivia tightly in celebration of this momentous occasion. At that moment, they feel another gentle movement of one of their unborn twins in Olivia's womb.

After Dominick and Olivia separate, they all hug each other. They express their happiness at the situation. "I think it's worth celebrating at home, don't you agree?" Dominick takes a look around and Amanda nods in approval, "Sounds great! I just need to pick up my kids first and then I'll be able to join you."

Before they could go, Rafael Babar approached them with an embarrassed expression on his face.

"I apologize, Olivia. I shouldn't have done that... again."

"Rafael, It was a mistake for you to accept this case, especially in light of your knowledge of the events that took place," she exclaimed in disappointment. Shaking her head in disapproval, she continued, "You showed us disrespect and treated us rudely when you knew I was pregnant. She pointed to her visibly swollen belly for emphasis. When she regained his attention, she stated, "This pregnancy is considered high-risk, yet you chose to treat me rudely. With those words firmly spoken, the group - including David Haden - left the courtyard together.

As Barba walked slowly behind them, he said, "I have become invisible in your eyes... Since Stabler's return, YOU have ignored me. My affection for you remains unchanged however, it seems that this fact no longer matters to you because of your involvement with Carisi..."

Olivia refused to put up with such behavior and bit her lip as she walked in the same direction as Barba. Dominick observed what was happening and decided to follow, just to make sure everything was all right.

"You ghosted me when you left New York and then acted hostile towards me because Elliot was with us. I genuinely cared for you as a friend, but your disloyalty has made it challenging for me to forgive this betrayal."

"I have a responsibility to stand up for my client, regardless of the circumstances. I admit that I made a mistake in taking this case, and I sincerely apologize." Ashamed, he lowered his eyes.

Dominick stood beside Olivia, comforting her by gently rubbing her back as she sighed deeply and felt a gentle kick from one of the babies. She put her hand to her stomach and looked down in thought. "Perhaps it would be best to have this conversation when our moods have improved and the pregnancy is over," Olivia suggested.

As he walked away, he looked at her and said, "I would love to do that.

The children played in Noah's room, and the adults sat together in the

in the living room. "Can we have a sleepover, Mom and Aunt Amanda?" Noah asked as he walked out of his room. "Sure, why not?" replied Olivia. "It would be a fun way to celebrate our court victory, and we can order pizza."
